Won Commuinity Shield 12-11 on pens against Arsenal after a 1-1 draw. Won the League Cup 2-1 against Chelski. Won Premiership easily: Won FA Cup 4-1 agianst Chelski. Won Champions League 4-0 agianst Arsenal: End of season squad: Any improvements I should make? Any positions need improving? Any players need selling? I'm think of selling Ronaldo due to him being 30 now, is that a good idea? Also thinking of selling Bodmer, he has had a great season but he is 32 now, should I sell him? Thanks . My new style of attacking football proving to be a hit, 21 games played scoring 82 but have conceded 17 which is way more than normal, guess something has to give. I play a 3-4-1-2 with Foster; Pique, Ferdinand, Milto; Ronaldo, Hargreaves, Anderson, Silva; Aguero; Rooney and Owen I have saivet and tevez who are scoring for fun as well - especially Saivet who is my supersub. Brought some youth in Woods from Cheslea and Thiago from Real Madrid - Also a quality DC from Spurs (but he is dutch and they brougt him a couple of years back) he is only 20 and is quality, think his name is Hoenkena or something similar. How's Rafinha been playing? I'd be tempted to buy Alves for RB or someone like Vincent Kompany for centre half. I think with Anderson, Banega, Hargreaves and Veloso you have enough quality midfielders. You might be better off getting Agureo to play in Anderson's position and moving Anderson into midfield? Won the League, FA Cup, League Cup and Champions Cup in 3rd season when I made this tactic, still going excellent. Lost in the Champions League final 2-1 to Barca, got to semi's of FA Cup and finished 8th in the Premiership. Won the European Super Cup, World Club Championship & charity shield this season though, so it wasn't that bad of a season. Brought in Adriano who's done well, Aaron Ramsey, Ronaldo (short term as a backup striker only cost £400k but wanted to leave after a few months) and have Heitinga (from Ajax) & Gabriel Agbonlahor (Villa) joining in the Summer. Alot of players leaving now like Ben Foster, Fabian Brandy et al and also Giggsy retiring and got a few other players on transfer list (Park Ji Sung, Louis Saha etc.) Top priority is a new keeper (to replace Van Der Sar) but offers keep being rejected. Also, Barcelona said they weren't going to renew Frank Rijkaard's contract, so might go to Barca if offered the job and/or do international management with United [spain job is available]. Might stay there for a third season but I've already won the Premier, Champions League, Euro Supercup etc. so not much more to accomplish there (apart from winning the FA & League cups). Main reasons I think were because of inconsistent results (like beating big name teams and losing to those in the relegation zone) & injuries. Cristiano Ronaldo was out for about 4/5 months total throughout the season, Tevez was injured for a few months too and Rooney lost his form and was only play well at the end of the season. Quite a few other players lost their form & I think not having a solid keeper (bids for Buffon, Akinfeev, Lloris, Doni et al kept getting rejected) cost the team too. Was also appointed Belgium manager so it takes me some time before i continue the game. Transfers Tried getting in Arda Turan, but he didn't get a work permit so he's out of the question as for now. Ciprian Tatarusanu came in to become understudy of Bogdan Lobont and i attracted an american and belgian regen. Gonzalo Pineda wanted to be able to discuss with Atlético Madrid. Hence they kept their intrest up for a year i allowed it and he left me for €5.5M Youth Setup The youth are doing great. Especially the newgens. A couple have had some 1st team chances already as they are storming both u18s and reserves leagues. Just no way stopping them as i played them against Cardiff in a cup game. Just to let you know i won 5-0 with a 15 year old scoring and assisting! Transfer targets I feel i need a new Striker since Adriano wants out and handed in a transfer request. (Never let someone who wants out play is my thought, hence he's in the reserves). A young up & coming AMR could be useful as i've put Eagles on the transfer list. A new DM since i've never used Hargreaves and have decided to sell him ASAP. Preferably someone who can wait for a chance. And a new LB is needed as i don't have one available in the youth or reserves! Maybe one who can play both Right Back and Left Back and who would want to sit on the bench! Transfer targets for... I also finished top of my CL group winning all my games, including a 4-0 win at Atletico Madrid! I only have one problem. Ronaldo. He has been immense. First season, he scored 35 goals, and this season he has 21 in 24! But he cannot play against the terrible teams! He played recently against Blackburn and got a hattrick, then we had the group game against Slavia Prague, and he got a 6! Then he got 2 against Villa and another 9, before a 6 against Chartlon! Its just irritating. Luckily Gignac got a double to sink the relegation favourites. Does anyone know how to get Benzema? Vidic has been a scoring machine this season though! Hes been scoring from Corners, free kicks, and even a couple of screamers from the edge of the area! Im tempted to play him upfront lol. So if I bought him back I would be making a £15m profit! But Rodriguez is injured atm, so I would have to bring in a new winger in Jan - Id be left with Ronaldo, Barnetta and Rooney who can play that, and Id rather play Rooney upfront. I had been trying to get Ramos all summer, bu then Alves became unsettles, so I went for him instead. Needed a replacement for Neville anyway. Ive just been thinking that I may be planning to go a bit OTT upfront for next season. I have Ronaldo, Rooney, Tevez, Anderson, Rodriguez, Barnetta, Campbell and Gignac for the 4 attacking spots and was planning on bringing in Ben Arfa, Aguero and Benzema! The Showstopper Posted June 19, 2008 Share Posted June 19, 2008 I found that when I bought Adriano, it was sometimes difficult to add him in the team along with Rooney & Tevez. This is because I usually play an attacking 4-4-2 formation. If you've still got Cristiano Ronaldo, train him up to be a striker (so you can use him anywhere in midfield and as a striker/center forward) and sell the players who don't play often in the team. I usually rotate the strikers I have and put Frazier Campbell and take turns in having Adriano/Rooney/Tevez on the bench, although I kept Rooney on towards the end of the second season as he was on good form.
