Premier League Fixture Patterns

So Arsenal got off to an absolute flyer this season. +18 GD 18 GF 0 GA. So, naturally, I looked at their schedule. It looked oddly familiar to me. Sure enough, every opponent I face plays Arsenal in the PL fixture prior. And for double measure they play Chelsea the match before that. Is this a known thing (scheduling might take ages so its fine if its a work around for coding) but as far as I can tell this doesn't exist in real life (or at least I haven't found it yet)
