TheLutterworthFox
2030/31 End of Season Review Another brilliant season Our highest points total in the league so far in the save, our best run in the Champions League and a total of 2 domestic trophies, our only failure was in the Welsh Cup, overall though, what a season! I'm expecting a big change in players again this Summer, we have quite a few players who really aren't up to scratch and have fallen away who are out of contract, my plan is to let them go and bring newer, younger players in, players who I can improve, will make our squad better and maybe I can sell for a profit. But, just in case I want to splash the cash, the board have given me sizeable budgets. Nearly £10m in transfer money and a huge jump in the wage budget. Malik Mothersille had a brilliant season, he was only signed as backup to Steven Allan but actually played a lot more due to injuries, he ends as the clubs player of the season and top goalscorer with 22 goals in 33 starts Another Summer signing Chris Waters was incredible with 22 assists in 30 starts Finally, young AM Tom Torr had an amazing first season since joining from last years youth intake, I changed to a 4231 to accommodate him and he repaid me with some brilliant performances. 8 goals and 10 assists in 34 starts, not bad for a 16 year old! Here is the formation I've been using, just a basic gegenpress 4231 And here is the whole squad. As you can see we have a lot of players out of contract and they will not be renewed. Time to bring through the next generation of player to take this club to the next level. The one big aim is to use my transfer funds to filter it down to the other Cymru Premier clubs to trry and give them the funds to improve their sides, maybe turn them professional, which should help them progress further in Europe and help us improve the co-efficients. One other piece of news is I have topped the Welsh Hall of Fame. Not bad for 8 seasons! Everything continues to improve, our reputation aside, which seems to have stopped at 2*. Co-efficient wise we are going to see a big jump next season after our run in the Champions League, we should go up to 23rd for the next season. TheLutterworthFox
MAJOR NEWS!!! It took me complaining like crazy and leaking it to the press but the board caved in and have agreed to look into building a new stadium!!! 13,000 capacity! This is massive!
TheLutterworthFox
July 2031 It's been another busy Summer, lots of players leaving, all because their contracts expired and lots of players joining. I've handed a bit of money to a couple of fellow Cymru Premier clubs but mainly I've invested in future prospects who cost me very little, hopefully they can improve here, take us to the next level in Europe and maybe make a decent profit in the transfer market. Firstly, the players to leave. A lot! The main headlines there are Headley (LB), Collins (LW), Jarman (CB) and Robinson (RB). All had just outgrown the journey and just weren't good enough. Now for the in's Nathan Williams - Attacking Midfield/Striker - Free from Cardiff A top quality, young forward who will add good depth to the squad. Josh Taylor - Central Midfield - £2m from Connah's Quay One of two players I overspent on to hand some money to other Welsh clubs. Overall though he's a decent midfielder who will definitely do a good job. Ryan Quigley - Right Wing - £2.5m from Haverfordwest And here is the second of those players, a highly rated, young Welsh winger, I only overspent slightly but I feel he's worth. The big news from this deal was it gave Haverfordwest the money to turn professional, the second club this Summer to do that after Llanelli Town. Miroslav Gajdos - Defensive Midfield - Free from Cardiff I took a gamble here, this lad is top, top quality, a certain start, the big issue is his work permit got rejected, I decided to do the deal anyway as the transfer fee was nothing. He is going to spend the season on loan at Werder Bremen, let's hope he plays! Mads Jacobsen - Striker - Free from Man United Another talented, young forward signed for nothing. He already looks amazingly good, he will definitely get some game-time in the domestic competitions this season. Matthew Brook - Right Back - Free from Man City And another really good, young player, his physicals are what drew me to him, a brilliant signing. Connah Ong - Left Wing - Free Newcastle Another 5* rated player, again he looks first-team ready and will definitely get game-time in domestic competitions this season. Eric Brennan - Goalkeeper - £63k from Blackburn With Taylor leaving, he signed a deal to join Wolves last season but stayed here on loan, I needed a new GK, I found it really hard to find the right player for the right fee. Brennan looks decent enough for now but I will need to bring in someone better in the next season or so. A really, really good Summer, some top quality young players, all who are rated really highly, let's hope they progress as well as I hope! Now for the early results and July is dominated with Champions League qualifiers. We've done well so far. Two round negotiated with ease, next up we face Slovakian side Dunajská Streda. Unfortunately it hasn't gone well for the other Welsh club. Penybont, who are in the Cymru South but are in the Europa League qualifiers as they won the Welsh Cup went out in the 1st qualifying round, TNS lost at the first hurdle in the Conference League 2nd qualifying round. Llanelli Town however did make it through the Conference League 2nd qualifying round, beating Maccabi Tel-Aviv, we really need them to get into the League Phase! In other news, we have another training facility upgrade agreed. A large amount of money but I want my facilities max-ed out as much as I can and the training facilities are the only thing I can ask to upgrade. Rankings wise, the League has seen another decent jump in the competition rankings. And we are now the 60th best team in Europe! Wales has also seen a jump in it's co-efficient, a 5 place rise to 24th.
TheLutterworthFox
August 2031 For the second straight season we've done it! We've made it into the League Phase of the Champions League! That playoff round was tense but we did it....just! And we have some really tough games but also, personally, some games we have a chance of winning. Unfortunately we were once again the only Welsh team to get to the League Phase of a European competition, Llanelli made it all the way to the final qualifying round of the Conference League before losing to Demirspor 4-0 on aggregate, they're getting closer! Domestically it's started as well as expected, I've mixed the team around a lot but it's not had any affect on results, in fact this has been the best start we've had so far. Haverfordwest got absolutely spanked!!! It's nice to see the intake players still doing the business, Carroll, Fernandes and Torr, the midfield trio are just incredible.
TheLutterworthFox
September 2031 And there goes our shot at an unbeaten season! It's been a weird start, we score 10 goals in 2 games but in the rest we've really struggled to break teams down, maybe we're so good now that teams just want to park the bus against us. Steven Allan, the master goalscorer hasn't scored all month now! Still top though! In other news, we have another player leaving for a big profit Left Back Sam Stewart is moving to Rangers for £1.1m + addons, signed on a free so a good profit, he will stay here for the rest of the season on loan. TheLutterworthFox
October 2031 Firstly, some big news, my Summer signing Gajdos has eventually had a work permit accepted, he is currently out on loan at Werder Bremen and I'll now be recalling him as soon as I can. Now to the results. Overall really good with two exceptions, we managed to get dumped out of both the League Cup and Challenge Cup, really annoying as I was attempting to win all four domestic trophies in a season, something I've not done so far. The good news is we claimed our first points of the Champions League and are smashing it in the league, plus Steven Allan eventually scored! Absolutely miles clear!!!! TheLutterworthFox
November 2031 Firstly the Euro 2032 Qualifying is over, we had a tough-looking group with Ukraine and Norway in it but we did amazingly! Only two defeats and they were both to Ukraine, we beat Norway twice but they had no Haaland both times. Overall though a brilliant qualifying and that means we're going to the Euros for the first time since Euro 2020! In that final game I gave a debut to one of our own from Barry Town, Johnson Fernandes, who came through the 2029 intake is now a fixture in the first team and has put in some brilliant displays, he deserved his chance and played well against a strong Ukraine team. Fantastic! Now to domestic action and it's been another really good month. Just look at those Champions League wins, away victories over Leverkusen and PAOK, we've won 3 of our 5 games and now have a really good chance of making it into the knockouts! The league is all but over already!
TheLutterworthFox
December 2031 This season seems to be flying by, the fact we're so far ahead in the league means I can take my eye away from it and concentrate fully on Europe! I've massively mixed the team about and whoever comes in does an amazing job. That 3-3 draw against Villarreal was brilliant, we were 3-1 down at half time, we now have 10 points from 6 games, I think 1 more point will be enough to get into the playoff round, we have Barca (A) and Marseille (H), I fully expect us to do what is needed against Marseille A few more academy lads have played this month and in the final game of the month against Bangor, 2031 intake player Keith Kennedy scored his first league goals for the club. In other news one of our player won the Welsh Player of the Year. Weirdly enough, with us play 4231 with 2 DMs Julian Gordon hasn't played that much this season but still wins the award, Johnson Fernandes came 3rd! And in the Welsh Young Player of the Year Tom Torr ends 2nd above Johnson Fernandes.
TheLutterworthFox
January 2032 Have you ever seen a team win the League with 3 months to spare? Well you have now! I mean how easy was that!!!!! 31 points clear and we have 9 games to play. It seems the rest of the league are very evenly matched meaning they all seem to beat each other. The big games this month though were the Champions league where we had a chance of qualifying for the knockouts for the first time. Well we lost to Barca but, even before the Marseille game we had already done it, we ended with a brilliant win and we had somehow ended 16th in the table!!! By far the best campaign so far! Stunning! In other news we will be saying goodbye to another superstar of the team. Rangers seem intent on signing half my side at the moment, Winger Muggeridge, signed on a free will move to Rangers for £2m, he will stay here on loan until next January. We've also made one new signing, Harvey Godsmark-Ford left after falling out of the side so I needed a new CB, in comes Greg McAllister for £245k A top quality signing. We've also persuaded the board to upgrade the training facilities once again, it seems we can't ask for anything else so may as well keep upgrading what I can. TheLutterworthFox
Another Player Sale I keep forgetting the Winter window ends after January finishes. Well another player has left and once again it's Rangers the team making the bid Out goes last years Welsh player of the year Julian Gordon, the opening bid was £250k, I managed to get them up to £2.5m!!! No loan return with this one, to be honest he hasn't played as much as he deserves as the formation we are playing means he doesn't fit in the side. TheLutterworthFox
Champions League Playoff Draw Well we face a side we actually beat away from home in the League phase! Surely we can't do it again?!
TheLutterworthFox
February 2032 We're into the knockouts of the Champions League! The first time in the save but we have Leverkusen in our way, we beat them away in the league phase but it's going to be a tough game. The first leg was away and we did play well, Leverkusen dominated the ball but the chances were even, unfortunately we left our shooting boots at home and missed some easy chances. Leverkusen put theirs away and sealed a 2-0 win. Into the home leg, if we could score early I had hope we could claw back the deficit, unfortunately Leverkusen scored an early penalty and then another shortly after, we did grab a goal back but at half time we went in 3-1 down. Now it was all about getting some respectability back and we did just that, RB Brook score on the hour mark before a late McAllister goal sealed a 3-3 draw but we were out 5-3 on aggregate. What an amazing run we've had though and just over £32m of prize money to boot! The bank balance now sits at just under £40m. In domestic action I've messed around with team in the league game but we've continued our great season with some good wins but one dodgy defeat. We're into the Welsh Cup semi final, after our early exits in the other domestic cups it'll be nice to win that and end with a league/cup double. TheLutterworthFox
2032 Youth Intake A shocker! We have one half-decent player, a Thai RWB and that's it! I mean he looks OK, he has good work rate, teamwork and leadership, he's quick and can cross. I do think he can do a job.
TheLutterworthFox
2031/32 Season Review Well it's been one hell of a season, in the league it's been a breeze, in the cups it's been a different story, we did however lift the Welsh Cup An absolutely brilliant season, total domination in the league and our first adventure the Champions League knockouts Player wise Steven Allan ends as the clubs top scorer, he's struggled with injuries this season and patches where he fails to score but he's now 8 goals short of the alltime top scorer for Barry Town in the league. Chris Waters ends with most assists, 17 in all with 13 goals scored as well Tom Torr won the clubs young player of the year award, this lad has been sensational, he's only 17! And here's the whole squad As you can see it's smaller than normal, we really need to improve depth this Summer, especially with Stewart and Muggridge leaving as they're on loan, we'll also be losing Saynor, Davies and Harris as their contracts are up. Once again the board have given me crazy budgets We end the season with £40m in the bank so I expected the budgets to be decent, the wage budget goes up by £100k a week and we have nearly £15m to spend on players. With us dominating in the league we need to start bringing in better players to help us challenge in Europe. I want to keep transfer fees down in the whole though, so we can keep that bank balance increasing, the main thing this Summer though is to try and continue filtering money down to the other Welsh clubs
TheLutterworthFox
Euro 2032 Time for my second major competition with Wales and hopes are high for this one. The draw was kind to us, Italy will be tough but I'm expecting to challenge for 2nd and qualify for the knockouts. I have picked my 23-man squad and here it is. Some familiar faces in the squad from Barry Town as I decide to pick Carroll, Fernandes and Torr, all 3 have come through the Barry intakes in the past few years. Here are 3 other players I'm interested in seeing, all have impressed this season either at their clubs or for the national side. So here we go! Group Game 1 v Bosnia Not the best, we managed to scrape a 3-3 draw in a shocking defensive performance. Game 2 v Italy Wow, we face the hosts, I expected a tough game but I didn't expect this. Woeful at best! Game 3 v Slovenia So it's all or nothing, we HAVE to win, if we do win and Italy beat Bosnia we somehow sneak 2nd spot in the group! And we did it!!! Even with a raft of yellow cards and a red we somehow managed to win 3-1 Talk about scraping through!! Into the Last 16 and we were handed a really tough tie as we faced France, ranked 2nd in the FIFA rankings, the No. 1 team in Europe, after how we've played so far I expected us to have no chance and as expected we got spanked! A shocking tournament and I'll be lucky if I keep my job after that!
TheLutterworthFox
July 2032 Firstly some rankings news, once again we've had big gains in all areas. The big one there is another big rise in the co-efficient ranking meaning we skip a round in the Champions League, weird thing is that's happened this season anyway! I've also managed to get the board to upgrade the youth facilities, something I've not even been able to request for 3 or 4 seasons. Now to the signings and there have been a lot as ever! Gabriel Eke - Winger - Season loan from Crystal Palace Signed to add some depth to the wide areas, he looks top quality. Frankie Pennock - Left Back/Centre Back - Free from Norwich We were very short of LBs so Pennock comes in to play in that position. Calum Taggart - Goalkeeper - Free from Hibernian The players last season decided to have a mutiny because we had a lack of depth in goal, so I decided to sign two! Taggart is one of those to challenge for the No. 1 spot. Peter McCready - Goalkeeper - Free from Larne And here is the second player to go in goal, highly rated and he looks really good. Jacob Brown - Striker - Free from Luton Its rare I sign an experienced player but I felt we needed someone to help, he's on a massive wage but hopefully he'll do a job for a season or maybe two. Finn Williams - Central Midfield - Free from Leeds Another freebie and another quality young player, he adds good depth to our midfield. Leighton Ainsworth - Left Back - Free from Nottingham Forest Another addition to play left back, he lacks the technicals but bar that looks really good. Samuel Brett - Left Back - Free from Southampton And another left back, all of the ones I've signed can play central defence as well, defence was the area I felt we really struggled with last season. Peter Strong - Right Back - £4m from Sunderland I spent some money!!!!! This lad was in the NxGN last season, he is young and highly rated, is he ready for first-team football now? Probably not but he'll get game-time in the cups. Some brilliant signings and our squad is now stacked with talent. I have also chucked a load of money to other Welsh clubs for players that are decent enough but I'll probably pack out on loan as they won't get a chance here, it's just a way to filter the money I have down to other clubs to give them a chance to improve their squads, maybe turn professional if they haven't already and then give them a chance to help me out in Europe!
TheLutterworthFox
August 2032 We did it once again!!! It was maybe a little big tougher than I expected, Rosenborg were dispatched with ease but Larne and Hadjuk Split were more tricky, however we made it through and for the third straight season we're in the League Phase. Some really tricky fixtures though, much tougher than last season, APOEL and Club Brugge are winnable but the rest are very hard, but there's some even bigger news!!!! We have another Welsh team in the League Phase of a European comp!!!! Cardiff Met Uni, an amateur team, made it through to the Conference League proper after losing in the first qualifying of the Europa League but making it past some tough looking ties, that's massive for our co-efficient. Finally, domestic action and it's started as well as expected. All wins loads of goals but concerning is the amount we've conceded, especially as I felt we'd upgraded the defence this season, hopefully as the players settle in it will tighten up. TheLutterworthFox
September 2032 The good form continues and we've stopped shipping goals in! A busy month but we have done brilliantly, just look at those Champions League results, an expected win against Brugge but an amazing 0-0 draw against Dortmund away, Eric Brennan in goal won POTM with a 9.0 rating! What a start! Let's keep this going
TheLutterworthFox
October 2032 What a weird month! Some brilliant performances including this record-busting 14-0 cup win!!!! I think that's my biggest ever competitive win on any FM. So we did that and then lost to Holywell in the league, I really wanted an unbeaten season this time around. We also lost to Man City but I expected that one, overall a solid month. The big news though is Striker Steven Allan has broken the club record for league goal scored, a brilliant player who has smashed it season after season. Not bad for a free transfer signing, 162 league games, 116 goals, overall he's played 274 games and scored 183 goals! Prolific!
TheLutterworthFox
November 2032 Another decent month with a couple of noticeable slip-ups, we got dumped out of the League Cup semi final on penalties, something which has annoyed the board and have only managed a point from out two Champions League games. We are still in the other two domestic cups and smashing the league so I'm more than happy. Our participation in the Champions League may not go past the League Phase, we had Leipzig, Liverpool and AC Milan to play! In other news the Nations League has just finished and we managed to survive in Division A, just! We got a solid 2-2 draw against England and four point against Switzerland, Germany were too good for us though.
TheLutterworthFox
December 2032 What a month!!! Absolutely amazing but there's one win there that was better than any other! We only went an demolished Leipzig in the Champions League!!! An absolutely huge win, we are still struggling to make the playoff round though, we're in it at the moment but have Liverpool away and AC Milan at home to go. Going great guns though! In other new we've had the funniest World Cup qualifying draw imaginable! May as well call it the home nations!
TheLutterworthFox
January 2033 Firstly, big news outside of Barry! Cardiff Met Uni somehow managed to qualify for the playoff round of the Conference League! Not bad for an amateur side! Now to ourselves and some transfer news, this one really hurts to be honest, Rangers just love nicking my favourite players and they've done it once again. Such a shame to see him go but he wanted the move, I wanted more money but that was it and he because he started kicking off I had to let him have his wish, the good news though is he stays here on loan until the end of next season. Fernandes also won the Welsh Young Player of the Year award, ahead of Tom Torr, the academy doing the business! I've also made a new signing myself, well a loan signing but it's a new player in. Gabriel Eke was recalled from his loan by Palace so I needed a new option out wide, so in comes Tetsuysa Tanabe from Spurs for the rest of the season, a top quality player Now to the results and it's been another brilliant month. A defeat to Liverpool in the Champions League which I expected, we did manage a good draw against AC Milan but we were 2-0 up so I was disappointed not to win, that draw though did mean we scraped out of the League Phase and into the playoff round. Only just though!!! The league is nearly over as well. 19 points clear with a game in-hand, we need one more win to seal a 8th straight league title
TheLutterworthFox
February 2033 8 in a row!!!!! It was inevitable really, we were a little shaky in the opening few games but that win against TNS to claim the title was stunning! Unfortunately our Champions League run ends at the playoff round for the 2nd season in a row as we lost to Celtic, we did well though against a much stronger team.
TheLutterworthFox
2033 Youth Intake The preview had this intake as "good" but the highest rated player was a "C", however this has just happened, I have never ever seen anything like this before! I have never ever seen a player come through with that high CA!! He's 15 and already 3.5*!! OH MY WORD!! He is incredible! My only concern is how long he sticks around for!!! The future is very VERY bright!
TheLutterworthFox
March/April 2033 The final games of the season, not many in March so I decided to do two months at once. A really good end bar losing on penalties to Larne in the Challenge Cup, one game left and that's the Welsh Cup final. An easy win!!!! Darren Jones, the star from the intake scoring, he is now our penalty taker!!! In the month since he has joined he has broken these records.... Youngest ever Welsh international Youngest ever Barry Town player Youngest ever Barry Town scorer Youngest ever Cymru Premier player and scorer Youngest ever Welsh Cup player and scorer Youngest ever Challenge Cup player Not bad!!!!
TheLutterworthFox
2032/33 Season Review Another incredible season! Our highest league points total of the save so far and our 8th straight league title! The Welsh Cup was also won but unfortunately we failed to win the other two domestic trophies. It was another good run in the Champions League where we got knocked out in the playoff round by Celtic. So overall I'm really happy, there are now big aims left to achieve domestically and that's an unbeaten season and to win all four trophies, I'll be going all out for that next season! Financially, as expected, we're looking really good. The board have given me good budgets again, pretty much the same as last season. We actually made a £5m loss this season, that's mainly because I spent £31m on player, most of whom I didn't need, it was just a way to filter money down to the other Welsh clubs, it seems to have worked. Holywell, Haverfordwest, Llanelli and Connah's Quay have all turned professional and I'm hoping to see another couple take the leap this Summer. Still, loads in the bank, we need to continue qualifying for the Champions League proper though to keep that balance stable, I do plan on spending some money on better players this Summer, I really want a new Striker as Steven Allan seems to have gone off the boil this season. I'd also like to splash out on a new LW and LB. Now to my top performers this season. A whole XI of players above 7 average rating!!! And here was me saying Steven Allan had gone off the boil!! He ends as the club player of the season and top scorer with 25 goals in 41 starts. My issue is he goes 8 or 9 games without scoring then goes mad with goals, I really need another option to help when he has those bad runs. Left Back Frankie Pennock wins the clubs young player of the season, a solid first campaign for the lad who managed 9 goals as well, not bad for a full back! Right Back Matthew Brook ends with the most assists at the club, 13 in total. He has been a key part of our success but unfortunately he wants that big money move, I've said he can go for £1m. Academy star Johnson Fernandes wins the Cymru Premier Young Player of the Season, this lad is an absolute star, just a shame we'll only see him in a Barry Town shirt for another 12 months before he seals his move to Rangers. And here's the whole squad, some amazing performances all over the park this season! Now I look forward to next season, this is the Summer I want to try and take this club to the next level, I've spent 3 or 4 seasons now bringing in freebies, trying to keep costs down (bar throwing money to other Welsh clubs), as much as we're still dominating I really feel I need to start spending some cash on much better quality player to try and get further in the Champions League, I need to keep the co-efficient heading in the right direction and to do that we need to get further than the Last 16. Alongside that we need the other Welsh clubs to get further in Europe so I may try and sell/loan some of my players to other Welsh Premier clubs. It may be a busy Summer but I'll only go mad if the right players come about. The progression in this save has been incredible, the big news is out reputation has moved to 2.5*, level with Swansea with only Cardiff ahead of us on 3* Edited March 19 by TheLutterworthFox

TheLutterworthFox
July/August 2033 Here we go, another season and for this is the big one, domestically things are easy, now it's about improving this side to get further in the Champions League. Unfortunately it's been a tough Summer, loads to spend but our reputation means we can't bring in players to improve us that much. We also have to contend with the squad registration rules which means, with the fact I don't have too many decent "trained in nation/club" players it's a case of 1-in-1-out. I've also had the fun job of rejecting daily bids from the English elite for my new intake star Darren Jones, luckily for me he doesn't seem interested in leaving, I'm guessing that because he has a 10k per week fulltime contract on the table when his youth contract expires at the end of 2034. I fully expect him to ask to move at some point though and I won't get much for him! We did let a few players leaving this Summer, mainly to free up some spaces for better players. The one big loss there is Goalkeeper Eric Brennan who asked to leave, signed for £64k so a decent profit. The others to leave were just back-ups. Now for the in's. Chris Geiles - Striker/Right Wing - £1m from Ross County I needed a new option to play up top, mainly when Steven Allan loses his form. I struggled to find a big upgrade on Allan so chose Geiles as he had a good season last time out for Ross County. Peter Malham - Left Back - £1m from Bolton With Brett leaving I needed a new LB, it was probably my weakest area anyway. A decent signing for a relatively low fee. Joe Read - Central Midfield - £1.1m from Southampton Another option to play at CM, with Joth Taylor going and with the prospect of losing Fernandes at the end of this season I needed a play to come in and add some depth. Kevin Hall - Goalkeeper - Season loan from QPR With Brennan leaving I needed a new GK but really struggled to find someone decent enough for a low-ish fee, so I settled on a loan deal to give me more time to find the right buy. Paul Richardson - Central Midfield - Free Transfer Signed just to add some depth, he can play in numerous position including CM, RB, AM and Striker. Much needed with so many games to come. Overall a solid Summer, more money spent than normal but the squad has definitely improved, just not as much as I had hoped. Now to results and once again we managed to qualify for the Champions League proper. As you can see it was easy until the playoff round where we had a mini scare, we lost the opening leg to Astana but clawed it back and sealed a 3-2 aggregate win in injury time. What a shocking set of games though, every single one really tough, Celtic probably the easiest tie but they beat us in the playoff round last season. If we win 1 game I'll be happy! The bad news is we were the only Welsh team to qualify for the League Phase, Colwyn Bay got the closest, losing in the Conference League final qualifying round to Hadjuk Split. Domestically it's start really well. Only one slip-up but I had to keep players fresh for the Champions League, other than that a stunning start! TheLutterworthFox
September/October 2033 Decided, due to not wanting to keep updating too often to go with bi-monthly updates from now on, unless something majorly interesting happens. Loads of games but it's gone pretty well so far, yeah we went out of the Challenge Cup but I did play a heavily rotated team, we've also only managed two points in our three Champions League games setting us massively back as we attempt to qualify for the knockouts. It's a shame our shot of a domestic clean sweep is already over but the unbeaten season is still well and truly on.
TheLutterworthFox
World Cup 2034 Qualifying It's been a fun qualifying campaign, mainly because at points it felt like some kind of home nations! England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Us alongside San Marino and Armenia. We needed to win the group which was going to be tough with England in it, second may be enough if we end in the higher ranked places, let's just win as many games as we can! Overall really good, we even beat England at Wembley, unfortunately the 1 point from 2 games against Scotland was what ruined our shot at top spot. We did however managed to end 2nd in the group And fortunately for us we ended high up enough in the 2nd place table to seal a spot in the World Cup! Only just though!!!!!! We're off to the World Cup which is to be held in Indonesia and Malaysia! Never seen that before!
TheLutterworthFox
November/December 2033 Domestically it's going amazingly, our Champions League run though seems to be coming to a premature end, yes we beat Dortmund and played bloody well against them, losses to Porto and Leipzig however put us chasing the playoff spots and we have Juventus and Man City left to play! We also smashed our record win, last season we won 14-0 in the Welsh Cup, this season, with a rotated team, we won 18-0!!! Easy! The league is pretty much over already, now to win the other two domestic trophies we're in. This Winter is going to be different from the rest, I usually do very little business but I have a few players leaving and I really need to improve the squad to a point where we can start challenging in Europe, if I bring them in now then they have a good 9 or 10 months before our Champions League campaign starts again. So expect some big transfer deals in the Winter window!
TheLutterworthFox
January 2034 Time for transfers A few out's, all I didn't need or I had better players coming in. Now for the in's Vinnie Hinnigan - Central Midfield - £775k from Middlesborough A new addition to the midfield, young, good personality. Luigi Simonetti - Winger/Striker A new addition to the forward ranks, Allan once again has been struggling for form and with Mothersille leaving I needed a new player, Simonetti is a huge upgrade on what we currently have. Robert Pahor - Goalkeeper - £650k from Lubljana My new No. 1. Hall was recalled from his loan and eventually I found a GK better than what I currently have. Jobe Bellingham - Midfielder - £5.5m from Sheffield United The big one, I needed a statement signing and Bellingham is that man! Matt Budrys - Left Back - £550k from Bohemian With Pennock going I needed a new LB and Budrys is a huge upgrade. Some really good signings, now they have time to bed in before we go again for the Champions League next season. result-wise its been a tough money, 100% in the league but 2 defeats in the Champions League dumps us out. We also lost the League Cup final on penalties to TNS Now all we can go for is the League and Welsh Cup, luckily the league is nearly over, we just need 1 more win.

TheLutterworthFox
February/March 2034 Another league title!! That's 9 in a row, really pleasing but in this run of games it's had massive disappointments! Our shot at an unbeaten season is over at game 28! So annoying! We also lost on penalties to TNS in the Welsh Cup quarters, this means we end the season with one trophy. And that's the season over, nothing else to play for! Finally, we've had the latest youth intake, it was forecast to be a "poor" intake, it ends up being better than that, nothing like the intake of last season but we have three top talents. And here they are.... I am really excited by Richard Warren, he needs some work but could end up being a decent backup striker.
TheLutterworthFox
2033/34 Season Review Another title in the bag but I have to admit, I expected more this season. Only one trophy, I fully expected to win everything domestically this season and bar the League Cup we didn't even come close, we also failed to get out of the League Phase of the Champions League for the first time in three seasons. In the League we dominated but we ended two points behind out tally from last season. So a good season but it could've been lots better! But with the Winter signings I have hope next season we can win everything domestically and we can end the league season unbeaten, only time will tell I guess! Financially we've also lost quite a bit this season, yes we did spend £13m on players but even with the Champions League money we have still lost just under £10m this season, that was always going to happen though, transfers were needed and we will always lose money with the small ground and low attendances. We do have just under £10m to spend this Summer and a load of wages to spend, transfer-wise though it will be one-in-one-out as we have max'ed out our registration for the Champions League, homegrown players are needed as well. Player-wise there have been so many good performances this season. Matthew Brook wins the player of the season for the second straight season, the right back has been brilliant once again but he wants to leave and I don't expect him to be here next season. Steven Allan ends as the clubs top scorer once again, he is slowly declining though and I will look to replace him this Summer if they right player comes about. Chris Waters ends with the most assists, this lad is absolutely amazing and a key part of the side. Finally, a quick word on Darren Jones, the superstar player who came through last seasons intake, I've spent the season rejecting rubbish bids from Englands elite and he doesn't seem too fussed in leaving at the moment, I expect that to change but I need a big fee for him, so far the biggest bid has been £350k but that's been mainly in add-ons, etc. 8 goals in 38 games as well, a brilliant first full season and he's still only 16!!! Now we look forward to another season, can we make it 10 league titles in a row? I bloody hope so, next season we're winning everything domestically, I will make sure of it! Squad improvements are needed though but I need to remove players first. Things continue to improve season on season, we are now up to 16th in the co-efficient rankings, I think next season we go up to 15th and that means an extra Champions League spot, meaning 4 teams in Europe instead of 5 Edited March 22 by TheLutterworthFox
TheLutterworthFox
So there seems to be a bug in my game, it's now August 2034 and there have been no new fixtures generated for the English leagues, the Welsh league are OK but I'm worried how this will affect European fixtures if the game can't work out which English teams to pick next season, also will it happen to the Welsh Leagues? I've raised a big on the forum and hopefully it can get sorted, until then the save is on hold, a good time to be honest as on Wednesday I go away for 10 days! TheLutterworthFox
So I've managed to think of a way around it and that's to go back to mid-June and remove the English leagues, it doesn't stop the same thing happening to Wales at any point but I'm hoping it's a one-off. Maybe I'll try and re-add the English leagues back next season as I kinda like seeing how things go in England. But for now I'll carry on and see what happens, it just means I've lost about 7 weeks of game-time

TheLutterworthFox
July/August 2034 It's been another busy Summer, I've really tried to bring in players who will improve the side, I've once again had to sell before I can buy, just because of the European squad registration rules. Some first-teamers have gone, Gee, Read and Williams all played a lot last year but I felt I could bring in better players to replace them. Ben Nelson - Central Defender - £6m from Swansea A big fee but a brilliant player who will massively improve our defence. Emre Tezgel - Striker - Free from Raith Rovers A player I've had in other saves, at this level he'll bang in goals for fun. Oliver Sturrock - Central Midfield - Free from Wolves A young midfielder, with that finishing he could probably play up front but my plan is to play him as a Mezzala or an AM. Genki Kato - Defensive Midfield - £6m from Rangers He doesn't look happy about being here but I certainly am, a top drawer DM, who can also play CB, this lad should take our midfield to a new level. Rhys Williams - Central Midfield - Free from Cardiff Another midfielder, I didn't massively need him but he helps with the HG rule. Giovannia Teresi - Left Wing - £1.5m from Leicester We only really have Waters as a natural LW so I needed another option and Teresi is a big upgrade. Some really good deals, £14m spent as well, our biggest Summer spend in the save so far. Some big news to give you is that Wales have moved up to 15th in the co-efficient rankings and that means, from next season we gain a 5th European spot, 2 of those in the Champions League, massive! Now to results, don't ask me how but we somehow bypassed nearly all the Champions League qualifiers, it said we'd enter at round 2, we actually entered in the playoff round (round 4)!! I have no idea how! Slavia Prague were our opponents and we eased past them to qualify for the league for a 5th straight season. It's also started as expected domestically with loads of goals. These are our Champions League fixtures, there are 3 or 4 winnable games there, I'd be unhappy if we didn't claim a playoff spot. Unfortunately no other Welsh team joins us in the European competitions League Phases, Connah's Quay got the closest in the Conference League, losing to Rapid Wien in the final qualifying round.
TheLutterworthFox
September/October 2034 Overall a really good few month, the one big disappointment is we went out of the Welsh Cup, so the clean sweep is over way too early! In the Champions League we did managed one win but lost the other two, as expected.
TheLutterworthFox
November 2034 to January 2035 It's been a really good few months at the club, in the league we're absolutely smashing it as expected, we stupidly got knocked out of the Challenge Cup by Dundee United which was annoying, in the League Cup we managed another final win, beating Cwmbran Celtic with relative ease. Summer signing Rhys Williams with the goals. In the Champions League it's gone really well, yes we lost to Porto and Arsenal but wins over Sporting, Zurich and Benfica mean we qualified for the playoff round, 4 wins from 8 games is a fantastic return, especially against teams so much better than us. We haven't had the draw yet for the next round but will report back when we do. With the domestic clean sweep gone it's now time to concentrate on ending the league season unbeaten and we are well on the way to that! 9 games to go, the title is all but wrapped up already! TheLutterworthFox
Champions League and Player Sale News I forgot to mention in my previous post we lost one of our key players close to deadline day. Winger Simonetti, signed two seasons ago for £1.5m leaves to join Celtic for £3.5m up front with £875k of addons. A good deal but it's a huge loss and I had no time to bring a new player in, time for one of the kids to step up! We've also had the playoff draw for the Champions League and we have one of the tougher draws. Atletico Madrid will be a hard game, I'll be shocked if we get through it. Finally, it only took one more game but the league title has been won for 10th time in a row, we did it by beating TNS 4-0 away from home! Nice! TheLutterworthFox
Champions League Playoff Round And as expected we lost! We are doing so well that I kinda expected to give them a better game, it just shows you how far we've still got to go! I feel like I'm a little stuck at the moment, I can't really improve the team anymore than it currently is, not unless we get a huge influx of cash to go out and spend £10m+ on players, something which I don't really want to do, or we get an increased reputation which means better players want to join us who I can look to sign on frees or pre-contracts. I'm really hoping the new ground goes through at the end of the season, that should give us a bump up in money at least but I'm sceptical it will happen after the last ground got cancelled by the council. Not long to find out though!
TheLutterworthFox
2035 Youth Intake It's happened again! I really can't understand these intakes, the preview was 1.5*, rubbish, with the best player rated at a B, everything else was D or E, this is what's just come through....... A 2.5* average intake but there are two top talents and one of them highly rated!!!! WOW WOW WOW! Another incredible central defender! Alongside Darren Jones, who came through the intake two seasons ago we have a central defensive partnership to last years!!!!! OH MY GOD!!!! 6 foot 7 inches tall at 15 years old!!!! WOW, this lad is something else, does he need work? Yes, but stick him up front and lump it to him, I may have to switch to two up top!!!
TheLutterworthFox
I haven't mentioned Wales for a while as, well to be honest, there's been nothing to report as we haven't done that well......... But this has just happened!!!! 20-0 away from home!
TheLutterworthFox
2034/35 End of Season Another season down, our 10th league title in a row and eventually we end with the invincible season!! A brilliant end to the season and just look at that goal difference!!! +99!!!! Player-wise I could easily go through the same players as every season, Allan ended as top scorer, Waters most assists, Brook player of the year but it's getting a bit repetitive, so let's look at two players, both whom came through the academy, who are doing an amazing job. Firstly is superstar CB Darren Jones, what a season he's had, a staple in the first XI, constantly performing and also bagged a few goals. This lad has everything in his locker to take him to then top, the big question is, will that be here? Secondly is Aled Carroll, now 26, he's been a consistent performer since breaking into the side in 2025. He is now only 35 appearances short of the club record for most league appearance! He isn't rated very highly but he is a massive player and always performs to the best of his ability. And here is the whole squad. As you can see there are a lot of academy players in the squad, some not rated very highly but that's because our best player are so good, most can do a job in the first XI if and when required. Now we come to the finances and we end with a load of money in the bank. Just over £28m in the bank, a £9m profit this season, helped by £31m of prize money from our Champions League run, you can see how important that is to the finances and it's needed more than ever because, once again, the local council have rejected our new ground application. I'm not going to lie this is absolutely gutting and is making me wonder why I'm bothering staying here, if we can't increase our ground capacity we cannot bring money in, we need to improve our revenue streams and this is more prevalent now more than ever because, we're failing FFP for European Competitions. By around £3m, now I can look to sell players which will help it out but the idea is to keep improving the squad, not decimating it!!! I really don't know what to do, if we can't increase the revenue streams coming into the club then we cannot improve, if we cannot improve then the other clubs in the league can't improve as I can't help them increase their finances, something I've not been able to do over the past few season because I chucked loads of money at other players and, also, if I sign players from other Welsh clubs good enough to be in my first team squad then I take away those clubs best players and that doesn't help either. The ground is so needed and currently I cannot see a time where it will actually happen, this is a killer for what I'm trying to do and is making me want to resign from Barry and look to take over another Welsh side and try and build them up, the big issue so far in this save is Barry are the only team qualifying for European League Phases, no one else has done bar Cardiff Met Uni 3 seasons ago. because of this the Welsh co-efficient has dropped 4 places, meaning we only get that 5th European spot for a single season before it goes back down to 4 spots. Maybe it's time to leave and try and help another club progress in Europe, Barry are set now, they should have enough in them to qualify for a League Phase of a European competition without me in charge, will I miss the club? Hell yes but the ground issue has taken all motivation I had and maybe a change is needed to keep the save fresh. Thoughts?
