[FM 24] Director of Football Challenge (Luxembourg 'Til I Die)

Introduction

image.thumb.png.a35e2bf712dd1fdc1bab0a8189ff1749.png

Hey everyone! Been looking for a new save while rewatching "Sunderland Til I die". I realized how tough it was on those managersĀ as they were really at the whim of the director of football. They could give suggestions, but really it was up to the DoF to reel in the talent. So that is what we are doing. We are starting in a custom Luxembourgish database. In the top flight, the Luxembourg National Division, with semi-professional outfit US Hostert.

Union Sportive Hostert

image.thumb.png.ccc37ad6f8eebd8d40b4c60234927e4c.png

They were at risk of being relegated last season, but with that kind of youth recruitment we may have a pipeline of talent that even the director of football can't miss on.

Board Vision

image.thumb.png.6d59170f082840c461466db384cffc72.png

The big push will be to stay up this season. Unfortunately, most of the financial and contract goals will be out of our hands. Also we have a one year "earn your keep" contract.

First Team

image.thumb.png.013919292ed80ad714cd7e37bbd0830c.png

Our team is in rough states, with only 4 maybe 5 players predicted by the staff to be of top flight quality. Whereas only 4 of the starting 11 are signed on for multiple seasons.

Halim Meddour

image.thumb.png.c61b0e819f712b0c22fe160d224c8581.png

Our best player is Meddour, a 26 year old ball playing defender. Unfortunately, with only one season under contract. We need to capitalize on his talents now and hopefully prevent his injury proneness from creeping up. Thank goodness his has traits of big matches and consistency as we will need both.

Media Prediction

image.thumb.png.b476feed8cb38673b077a99f82601c07.png

We are predicted for a 19th place finish. This league is just like the premier league. So 38 games, with the bottom 3 clubs being relegated. We have no key players in the media dream eleven. There is gonna be a long road ahead. I will be updating this roughly every in game month, but with the team decisions not up to me it may be a little chaotic, but that's the fun part.

Best of luck in your own saves.

July 2023

image.thumb.png.6d32cab7b3a76d005eaff3ce1a7ad706.png

A good preseason is in the books. As well as our director of football pulling off some great contract extensions/transfers.

Transfers

image.thumb.png.d3f958cb6d85d411842bb44c019bf814.png

All on a free so luckily nothing too outlandish finance-wise yet.

Dimitrije Jovanovic

image.thumb.png.6e85cc33b9ddf48db0d34866736e5d90.png

We do have a new highest earner at the club though. A Serbian mezzala from KVC Westerlo in the Jupiter Pro League. He is young only 20 years old with a three-year contract. He needs some help in dribbling, anticipation, and composure, but could be a real stalwart for the side for the next couple seasons.

Kenan Avdusinovic

image.thumb.png.c8721f0fd21c315dee0212ab256440cb.png

Kenan actually came through the Hostert youth system, but immediately left for other teams in Luxembourg. He has played at the top flight of the National Division for the last 5 seasons for various sides. Most recently released by reigning champions Swift Hesperange, after not getting any playing time last season. He comes to us on a free with a sweetheart one year contract. Hopefully a good performance might help him resign and re-earn a starting role in a top flight side. He has the physicals that will make him a terror on the right. Lets see if that home town quality shows through.

Mohamed Konate

image.thumb.png.2a82054113d0532b8e263d90d164cbdb.png

Our last acquisition is Konate, a stone wall at the back. A teenager, 19 year old Malian, who was out of professional football last year. He played most recently for RE Virton in the Challenger Pro League in Belgium. We have some untested new faces, and I am anxious to see if they have what it takes to excel at this level.

Next up is our first official game in charge away against projected 6th place Titus Petange. Then we take on some of Luxembourg's heaviest hitters.

Thanks for anyone following along, and best of luck in your own saves!

August 2023

image.thumb.png.38cdf16d938b9bcd247b207ccf05d8f3.png

5 games in and it is a mixed bag. Two big wins at home, but we have struggled away. I think all three losses were fairly unlucky as we really could be 2 wins, 2 draws, 1 loss right now in my opion. However, twoĀ unfortunateĀ penalty giveaways find us in 12th place on 6 points.

Transfers

image.thumb.png.85a5c9871988e8250c6273a4870122b8.png

On the other hand the director of football has been busy.

1. Martin is a 22 year old French left wingback that has been out of football for a year, but likely comes in as our starting left back.

2. Mendy is an absolute travesty. Left sided 25 year old Senegalese player who comes in as the 31st best player on the team with a crazy prize tag of $475 a week for two seasons!Ā  I put him immediately on the unwanted and developmental lists. Unfortunately we don't have the money to release him, so we will likely have to wait till the winter window to force him out of the side. Thankfully he comes in as an emergency backup.Ā

3. Djogou is a 21 year old Togolese defensive midfielder. He has great upside but is only of decent Division of Honour (second flight Luxembourgish) quality right now. That being said he is the first name off the bench as he can play any role in our midfield 4-3-3 DM Wide. Unfortunately he is part of a new trend of giving incoming players one-year deals. Hopefully we can have great form in the winter window to resign these good talents for a longer period of time.

4. Our best find coming out of our recruitment scouting meeting. That was Saudi Arabian keeper Abdulaziz Edrees. He is a 3.5 star CA 5 star PA 22 year old we stole on a free from NK Uljanik Pula in the fourth tier of Croatia. He is an immediate number 1 between the sticks. He is also on a very secure 3-year deal but unfortunately is making $675 a week which is a huge price tag for our side. (It appears if I throw a great player on the transfer targets list and give them the parameters to go get them. I may have to deal with them occasionally throwing the bag at these players.)

5. Schmit is a 16 year old striker free transfer from Berdenia in the Division of Honour. He is probably never gonna make the first team as he is currently our 8th best striker with the potential to someday be our 3rd/4th best. As long as we primarily play a single striker formation he will likely stay in the reserves or out of loan.

6. Cetkovic was a interesting prospect from Lentgen in the First Division South (3rd tier of Luxembourg). At 16 years old he can play as a wingback on either wing. He is just outside the top 3 on either side already but is currently in the under 18s. Unfortunately with only 3 stars of potential he may never be more than an utility player at the senior level.Ā Ā

7. Last is Lefel a real-world transfer set already in the database. He comes in as the second best keeper, but was pre-arranged by the database to leave in January. So he will really just be here as the 3rd keeper backup.

By the way we will be covering the pipelines/depth at different positions starting after the transfer window closes.Ā Ā

Finances

image.thumb.png.4502db0e4cb95a2a610b6d0ee51de9e8.png

So where does that leave us? Actually in a fairly healthy spot. We have a decent amount of budget left, but we need to get the direct of football on contract extensions first before he gets a chance to give away bad contracts in the winter window.Ā

National League

image.thumb.png.8d180904d3853b3ec2fffebe209f1cd6.png

So far we are flying free of the relegation spots, but it is fairly early days, and we need more than home form to keep us safe long-term.

Xg Table

image.thumb.png.b73836cbdf6a040adefea26402d774ac.png

As you can see our possession focused tactics are helping us with expected goals, and therefore our expected points should have given us a much better table position. So I think if we can maintain this form eventually the table will start falling our way.Ā

Next game is against lowly Racing FC Luxembourg at home before a tough second round tie against fellow division foes FC Etzella Ettelbruck later this upcoming month.Ā

Thanks to everyone for following along. Best of luck in your own saves.

Cheers!

September 2023

image.thumb.png.0433a47cdc79a94fc619578584e5a9ca.png

5 more games as boss here and the form has started to slip. We are no longer impenetrable at home and we have fallen to 14th in the league.Ā  On the bright side the DoF has worked miracles re-signing team key player Meddour to a two-year contract with an optional one-year extension for just $275 a week.

Goalkeepers

image.thumb.png.12ffa8a6e1e32d46d6184f6d41bd8cb2.png

As far as keepers go the pipeline looks like this.Ā

1st is Edrees the starter with only 8 conceded in 7 starts. He hasn't hit his stride yet, but has been holding to league average stats-wise. Which is what his quality is so par for the course with potential in spades.

Leaving in January - Enzo Lefel would have been nice to hang on to but the database has already secured his move away fromĀ Stade Jos Becker,

2nd is Fabio Sebastiani a five year team vet that never played in the top flight except in garbage games. He has also secured a two year contract with a optional extension. Meaning he will likely be a long-term fixture with the team as long as he doesn't resent us for playing second fiddle.Ā

3rd is Theo Sardou on loan from Red Black in the 3rd division of Luxembourg. Not sure how that works exactly, but he is on loan to us for the season. Luckily he is free and will be a nice depth coverage while we pair down our 40 plus player roster across all three levels.

4th is Nico Gomes a youth prospect with a outside chance of being a Division of Honour keeper one day. My hope is we don't stoop so low to ever need his services.

Abdulaziz Edrees

image.thumb.png.634a9f33d024ab83411abb10a3d9b30c.png

We are attempting to repair that first touch as early as humanly possible, but their is nothing I can do about his fear of big matches. Hopefully that means the other 30 games of the season he plays like the guy we hope he can be.

Fabio Sebastiani

image.thumb.png.f91c27ceba635d36a02748a5894b0052.png

The first touch disease is an epidemic in our team it seems. Hopefully someone will find the gonads to step up in big games.

Competitions

image.thumb.png.c016da92ec5693cbd4e1632c8a4b7f5e.png

Next up we face Etzella in the second leg of our second round cup tie. Then we face two top 6 projected sides. Luckily we finish of the month with a winnable home match against fellow relegation candidates Fola Esch. Now would be a great time to pick up our form and throw as many teams beneath us in the standings in order to insulate us from a relegation battle.

Thanks to anyone following along. Best of luck in your own saves.

Let's go lads time to get stuck in!

October 2023

image.thumb.png.7128075260bac33b55aa192093fc591e.png

We got knocked out immediately in the cup. Hopefully that means we can focus on the league. Not that we have even remotely struggled with fixture congestion thus far. We continue to have no heart away from home, but two big wins keeps us 8 points above the drop, and just 4 points from the European places.

National Division Table

image.thumb.png.a4ce1010fec89939f3e9d38837f6189c.png

We still continue to have league best expected goals and expected points. So I am still cautiously optimistic that our form will slowly turn.

Defenders (Right)

image.thumb.png.b5703b4836f109182146fbd21675148c.png

One point that we might need to address in the future is our depth at rightback.Ā

1st is Loris a three year team starter with some potential left in the tank. Unfortunately being semi-professional seems to also have slowed his development. He has been playing admirably for his skill set though and at a bargain price.

2nd is Koljen a hometown prospect with 12 seasons of time at the club across his career.Ā  He will never be better than Division of Honour quality, but right now I can't argue with $15 a week salary.Ā

3rd is Duah he may be a marginal top flight quality player someday, but right now he is doing well in the reserves. Averaging a 7.06 rating in 8 matches. He is also on a sweet deal. Hopefully he will resign to give us cover next season as well.Ā

4th is Bozidar how can play on the right and left side. He is thriving in the U18s averaging a 7.19 rating with 6 assists and 3 player of the match performances in 16 games played. If we get the chance to upgrade in other places he may take Duah's spot as 3rd string coverage in the fullback positions.

5th is Wiltgen. He can play across the back line, but most staff thinks he is 1 to 1.5 star PA. So I think I will be looking to move him on at the earliest opportunity.Ā

Loris Bernardy

image.thumb.png.b0a64795a0c5b45717e0aedf0a9a1321.png

I was initially very worried about his injury proneness as we don't have great depth at this position. However he was done well, and been nearly a lock on the team sheet.

Demir Koljenovic

image.thumb.png.39486cb804776501b7da7676bc189269.png

Koljen also struggles to dribble, but luckily our short passing system hides that hole most of the time. Can our director of football find us some help?

Next up is a slow month with only 3 matches. Hopefully we can solidify some contracts past this season in the meantime. Next up we play away againstĀ FC Marisca Mersch above us in the table. They have a bigger piggy bank than most of the teams at this level and they are the only professional team in Luxembourg.Ā

My aim is to have 4 points from the next 3 matches.

Thanks for following along and best of luck in your own saves.

Let's go Hostert!

November 2023

image.thumb.png.b41b6a4656ad898124064541242bf209.png

An injury to two starters in the attack, has lead to some inconsistent scoring this month. We play the entire mid-table this month pretty much. So these are big ticket six-pointers. However, with our 'stuck in' tactics we have both starting center backs suspended and both attacking players still out. We are in for a rough month if some fellas can't step up.Ā

Luxembourg National Division

image.thumb.png.b23417376f083feae18374c685499d8a.png

We are still hanging out mid-table, but the margins are slowly getting bigger between us and the European spots as well as us and the relegation spots.Ā

Defenders (Center)Ā

image.thumb.png.3889f1d40ec01c6b38e1a90e19156381.png

Centerbacks initially look like they have good depth, but after the starters we are very thin.

1st is Meddour, a leading national division defender, with a 6.91 average rating. Interceptions and blocks per 90 are on the upper end of league average. As well as a league high in progressive passes per 90 and pass completion percentage. He really is our ideal ball playing defender at this level.

2nd is Konate also playing with the first teamers. Top third in the league in clearances, interceptions, and blocks per 90. With a 92% pass completion percentage. Great potential, so it appears we have our starting backs set for the next season and a half.

3rd is Dedenon first name off the bench for defenders especially since he has the ability to play leftback. Most of the coaches feel he will be equivalent to Meddour one day. We got him under contract for 2 and a half seasons.Ā

4th is Koljen, the old man we spoke about last month. He is what you see is what you get. Currently in the bottom half of the leagues defenders in most stats. Despite a 6.9 rating in 2 starts and 2 sub appearances in the league. He is cheap though he will most likely be a end of season decision on whether I push the DoF to resign him.

5th/6th is Fabio andĀ Schmitt both are never gonna be fit for this level and we likely be releasing them if we get enough transfer budget to make that happen. The wage room is shrinking with resignees. So we got to pair down the roster to get some better talent next season.

Halim Meddour

image.thumb.png.299b3f2a73695b30b32d50c19cc8a890.png

Our vice captain and soon to be captain come next season. He has been good. Super consistent and always a lock in big games, but he can't do it alone. Unfortunately the accumulation of yellow cards has caught up to him and he'll be suspended next game at home against Rosport.

Mohamed Konate

image.thumb.png.1e7cb3f0377b6fc85e197df9b08da12c.png

A good national division player with eye on being leading quality in maybe 2 seasons time. He has good core attributes, just needs a little growth everywhere is make our back line formidable. However, with the decent prize and TV money in this league he may have to grow soon or fall down the pecking order.Ā

General Performance

image.thumb.png.8685d743728f45e29ec50841c01a6ebb.png

As you can see we are doing well by the numbers. We are struggling to get shots on target though. He are dominating in the shots per game category, if we capitalize on that volume I think we are gonna start turning these draws into wins.Ā

Surprise Free Transfer

image.thumb.png.cbeffeea6a728e01c5de31d08b0f1ea4.png

The director of football has remained busy finding a former VfL Wolfsburg youth prospect on a free. He immediately comes in as one of our starting Mezzalas in the midfield 3. Great speed, I think he could be a real nightmare for opposing sides once he settles in. Our transfers once had us projected as high as 15th in the media predictions for the league, but the rest of the league has been busy and we have drifted back down to 17th in those predictions.

5 games upcoming next month. I want 9 points. I also want to identify some young talent we can turn our DoF on to hopefully filling up the bottom of the depth charts and keeping him busy on quality acquisitions.Ā

By the way I never showed our current Director of Football for reference here is the unpredictable Dylan Pinheiro.Ā

image.thumb.png.01937c3f190ef01a0c606c163ec457a4.png

Best of luck in your own saves.

December 2023

Schedule

image.thumb.png.d9b3bc6c1df4277a56fbb78ba144c1a0.png

We were a force this month. 5 wins in 5. Leapfrogging to 6th place in the league table just 3 points from an European place.

Luxembourg National Division

image.thumb.png.35d450b3f095fe4b7c633bb9322aa8b9.png

While we had some guys out our backup striker Deniz Muric had an inspired run then once we were back to full strength we never let up until we made the mid-table sides seem foolish. Our biggest problem now is we have no money for scouting in the winter window, and most options seem out of our price range. We may have to wait for 5 or 6 contracts to drop off our payroll next season before we can reasonably expect the director of football to sign anyone of consequence. Hopefully he doesn't get too zealous. Can we send him on vacation for the transfer window?

Defender (Left)

image.thumb.png.c2a84b16614644fff33a0aa35a6cfec6.png

As for our leftback situation it is as follows.

1st is Martin our starter and a stable face in defense. He also gives us depth with his ability to play center back. In fact he is probably better there, but luckily he has thrived out on the left. Re-signed for a sort of big contract, but somehow the director of football negotiated a 1-year optional extension. So, we got him locked up for 2.5 more seasons.

2nd is Zilli a former 3-year starter on our team, but he has become the first backup this season. 16 games played so far, but they are almost entirely off the bench. We have him signed for one more year, but his double hernia in October opened the door for competition behind him. Hopefully he can remain healthy.

3rd is Dedenon a great versatile option just a step behind Zilli. In fact I would not be surprised to have him in the backup role by half way through next season. Already having played 23 games for the senior team during the last two seasons. Hopefully his determination can be enough to help him keep pace with Martin in growth as they age.

4th is Mendy the only one without a contract for next year. Too expensive! He has never played once for the senior team. He is wanted as a contingency loan option for three lower divisional teams in France. So most likely we will still have to wait till season's end to get rid of him.Ā

5th is Bozidar a 16 year old who will likely never be national division quality. Hopefully we can find someone down the pyramid willing to take him on a free. Every time we clear 2 or 3 guys on minimum contracts. We free up a squad player like salary. So bit by bit we are shaping this team.

Lucas Martin

image.thumb.png.b93bb35f36c8217f6e5c5205a9b2c395.png

A big 6'2" defender who really hates to use his right foot. Flying high in the league with his tackles per 90. I'm still shocked he hasn't earned a national division quality badge from the staff as he has got to be at least leading quality in the second division. Just goes to show how good we are playing with players that are still below par.

Quentin Zilli

image.thumb.png.9ce41fbbd383326d75f5a6a782f6d022.png

The speed is the biggest bonus off the bench, but that is about the extent of it. Next season will really show us if he deserves to stay.

Squad View

image.thumb.png.610870cddd2a13c4268c63be7b884502.png

Since we are at the halfway point I wanted to give you a look at the current starting 11. Some highlights include our two strikers M'Barki and Muric with a combined 15 goals scored. As well as midfielders Dzafo, Walther, and Djogou (not pictured) who are all are nearly averaging a 7 rating with 13 goals created between them. Also positively most players are in fairly good form, happiness, and morale.

Next month we play the top of table. We might have a real shot at staying in the top half if we can win a game or two here, or we may find ourselves just as quickly back in the mid-table.

Best of luck in your own saves.Ā

Cheers lads!

January 2024

Schedule

image.thumb.png.833ef6608f173cb5c3ed7bf07e04c0ff.png

25 out of 27 possible points over the last two months. Putting us within a game of the European spots.

Luxembourg National DivisionĀ

image.thumb.png.20da044ddf1ee451cd97d6a582c33d53.png

M'Barki had a hattrick against Titus but went down with a sprained knee ligament until mid February. On the upside we now have 9 players officially of top flight quality. I don't think we are gonna be able to rise any higher in the table though as we starting to luck our against good teams playing us with bad lineups because so far most of the teams at this level are still in the cup.

January Transfer Window

image.thumb.png.e9801ea255d9c2789ee5ca55360d5d85.png

Pinheiro our DoF went a little crazy this window. He brought in 9 players (1 was pre-arranged via real-world database). 3 of which I immediate put on the unwanted list. Our director of football has taken to signing any young players to non-contracts too. Which is tough as if we do get guys of substance they could be stolen away just as easily. On the upside the bad ones aren't clogging the wage bill. The good ones are as follows...

Donovan Bonet

image.thumb.png.f4ad4a58e1741a356acf4728c097d669.png

Probably our strongest player on the bench, but at that age he is just a expensive depth option.

Hugo Wolf

image.thumb.png.d4f6e333316ee559fa5b33f408d211f8.png

The final real-world transfer by the database. On loan from Titus in our division. He came in as regular starter role, but agreed to backup. He is our second best keeper behind Edrees, but we have single game weeks for the remainder of the season. So barring injury he will just sit on the bench. If that potential goes up maybe he can be a transfer target.

Duarte Oliveira

image.thumb.png.ba78984e2bd0f01864dd65a1b2a17181.png

Brought to us from an intermediary. We needed rightback depth and Oliveira was brought in on a great price for a 1.5 year loan from Famalicao in the Portuguese Premier Division. If we have the shot to make that deal permanent we should as it would make him home grown. Especially since other Luxembourgish sides were trying to steal away our starting right back this window.Ā

Mohamed Loua

image.thumb.png.f30ce59ec421204e69364a3ebac579fb.png

Loua can play anywhere in the midfield. A permanent transfer from Belgian semi-pro side RE Virton. He immediately joins the starting lineup and is under contract for 2.5 more seasons. A skill or two in each attribute would make him a stalwart guy at this level.

All in all not too rough of a transfer window. Unfortunately we have no scouting budget still so we end up flying a little blind on trying to direct the DoF on who to bring in. Hopefully in a month or two we can ask for the director to renegotiate the young guys with potential on to part-time contracts.

Next up we play some teams in vastly different form. We will see if this causes us to let off the gas.

Best of luck in your own saves!

Let's go lads!

February 2024

Schedule

image.thumb.png.00ab9923f868e491a0730dd120b1d058.png

We continue to win except a draw against the former 1st place team at the time Progres.

Luxembourg National Division

image.thumb.png.d3e10bef2000a33b77047a75864c0606.png

We have continued to rise up the league table flying as high as 2nd. If we stay top 3 we guarantee European play next season.

Late Winter Transfers

image.thumb.png.a4adafa5b5a37f615358b5e8c7af1591.png

Our director of football had one final day of crazy transfers this window. Many were perennial reserve players that won't ever be more than cover but we had one big out and one potentially big in.

Diego Matos

image.thumb.png.4606a1630f6a796623e52e20fb193001.png

Coming in is a left wingback from US Reisdorf 47 in the third tier of luxembourgish football. Diego, at 16 years old, looks like he could be great one day. Unfortunately when he hits 17 he goes to a non-contract agreement. We need to do whatever we can to renegotiate that deal. He comes in as our record biggest signing in club history with a massive $1,300 fee, lol.

Loris Bernardy

image.thumb.png.6bcff55f4f38d0407cb9eadb8965b6df.png

Of course now that we finally had some right back depth in the side the big professional team Marisca Mersch came in for Bernardy our starting right back for $19,000 that could rise to $24,500. (Another team record high this time in transfer fee received.)

Squad View

image.thumb.png.a6af04773bb0054ff72d50079855daa9.png

This is the starting 11 as it stands. Agovic has been really impress off the bench in M'Barki's absence. Unfortunately as you can see we asked the DoF is resign Federspiel, and all he did is just gave him a new better non-contract. Hopefully he grows in skill and demands we have to give him a part-time contract next time.

Upcoming Transfers

image.thumb.png.0af9768e90b6bb23fbd12d3ea3b3f710.png

Luckily we have been busy preparing for refilling the ranks next season. Securing 4 squad level players with only $500 a week spent.

Next up is a game away against 6th place FC Differdange 03. There are 10 games to go in the season. We will have a really good idea of where we stand at the end of this month.

Best of luck in your own saves.

Cheers!

March 2024

Schedule

image.thumb.png.16e07f14944dd1c99cef215456907b36.png

4 wins in 4 games earning us the top spot with a point on Titus Petange in 2nd. Currently we are a lock for at least 9th place.Ā

Luxembourg National Division

image.thumb.png.f86e1b7f041ad71e64ded80464e511e8.png

M'Barki is doing his damnest to go out with a bang with the highest average rating in the league. 6 games to go. All of our remaining opponents are in the bottom half of the league table. We are not a good big game team though so we need to continue to ease the tensions off the players going down the stretch.

Youth Intake

image.thumb.png.b840a875053802a4cbb070a9844ca39c.png

The head of youth development is delusional no one is over a 2 star potential, but this is a golden generation?! I voted that no one get a contract from the youth intake.Ā

Defensive Midfielders

image.thumb.png.92d3415378f423d4bb8153c85b71d8a7.png

The defensive midfielder pipeline looks like this.

1st is Loua, he is the best of the bunch with the ability to be a leading national division player.Ā He hasn't been with us long but is an anchor at the back with plenty of years under contract.

2nd is Djogou who is on an incredible contract with a 1 year contract extension. He has played almost half the season coming of the bench in the league and is doing fair with a 6.93 average rating.

3rd is Maquart is on a great deal, but is also done at season's end. He has been a fringe guy with us the last three seasons. He is averaging a 7.47 for the first team with 3 assists in 3 surprising appearances in the league.

4th is Grun and is being released at season's end too. He is playing decently for the reserves though getting them 5th in the reserve league this season.Ā

We need some depth here and the best way to do that is to get someone better than anyone we have.Ā

Mohamed Loua

image.thumb.png.a8a4e8400abb5ce8fb0515c6be08526a.png

Loua was a great find by the director, and if we could push to go professional his growth could get the lift it needs during this last growth window.

William Djogou

image.thumb.png.2fb000810b544d2b6dd9a1b3602384ea.png

Djogou has similar potential as Loua, but is a step or two behind in current ability. He also has not taken the progressive steps in ability since the he arrived.Ā

Big month with the chance to secure us some serious accolades if we can hold firm.Ā

Best of luck in your own saves!

Cheers!

April 2024Ā

Schedule

image.thumb.png.28d96e49c799bfe10af8a5a6579c5b3a.png

We are 5 points clear of Titus in 2nd. With 2 games to go we are trying everything in our power to make the players forget that these are big games.

Luxembourg National Division

image.thumb.png.c7befffd4c2ef7d112b9791a59e8231f.png

We are super over-preforming, but just like Claudio Ranieri we are finally willing to accept we might have a shot to go and win this thing. Some Champions League money would definitely help us going forward.Ā

Central MidfieldersĀ

image.thumb.png.81aa80bbb62453e2004586a716d1cb88.png

Our central midfielders are both Mezzalas and this is the look of the pipeline going forward.

1st is Jovan, 21 years young and plenty of contract left. He is wanted by big money Marisca. 15 goals created with an impressive 7.05 average rating in the league. He has probably the best potential in the team.

2nd is Dzafo another decent foreigner with a great contract. He is great for a team trying to stay clear of relegation, but he will slowly fall behind if we attempt to improve the side.

3rd is Djogou. He is in a similar boat. Nice depth, but hopefully he will be a utility rather than a necessity next season.Ā

4th is Thibault enjoying his last month or two at the club. Hopefully he is signed up by a team in the lower division.

5th is Tchantchou a little more expensive then I would like, but still only good enough to be a leading Division of Honour (2nd level of the Luxembourgish Pyramid) player in the future.Ā  Hopefully we won't need him for his full contract.

6th is Pruvot, young with some years of growth in front of him, but most of the staff see him as never better than Djogou.Ā

Overall, 4 players signed on for next year. Would love someone better than all of them in order to starting to build our depth.Ā

Dimitrije Jovanovic

image.thumb.png.d2994b4119ccb1f626528007c8075911.png

Balanced all around with great passing and tackling he has been a joy to watch. If he continues to grows he definitely will be a starter for the next several seasons. If not I hope we can at least get 30-50 thousand in fees for him.

Abdullah Dzafo

image.thumb.png.c0b5e8a6af7f6686cb441cc92d2b7e02.png

16 goals created in 36 league appearances. He has been ever present for the side. He has a couple holes in his game, but his ability to cover out on the left as been incredibly helpful. Especially with our small wage bill.

I'm rushing to the finish line. I'm so excited to see if we can actually do this.Ā

A win against Kaerjeng and we are champions.

Best of luck to anyone else in a battle to end the season.

Cheers!

May 2024: End of Season One

Schedule

image.thumb.png.572b24f3c9e7dd8931b62b1940594564.png

We did it! 4 points gave us a title win going into the last game of the season. We are champions of Luxembourg in our first season. 200 - 1 odds and a 17th place prediction from the media be damned.

Luxembourg National Division

image.thumb.png.9c0c05f52834bd47b28189bdbd6de3f9.png

I'm just baffled at M'Barki's form to finish the season and Edrees's clean sheets had us at the top of the pyramid. With a 50 goal differential no less! We didn't get the kind of reputation boost we dreamed but I think the sides will start playing a lot more guys behind the ball against us going forward. We will also find ourselves in the Super Cup and Champions League next season. We need to try to secure some prize money and make the push to go professional.

Squad View

image.thumb.png.f2d8e2608790d3b1d87da09ebe456bf7.png

I wanted to try out this new squad view. Sorted by appearances. Some highlights include...

M'Barki with 21 goals in 29 appearances. 7.33 average rating with only 14.99 XG. Clinical. Unfortunately he is retiring after this season.

Dzafo with 10 assists playing nearly ever match this season at 39 appearances.Ā

Zilli with 3.28 interceptions per 90. Just insidious off the bench.Ā

Meddour our best player still after all the transfers is 0.37 key tackles per 90. Glad to have him for two more seasons.Ā

Award Winners

Top Flight Player of the Year

image.thumb.png.956ea95d982a6f9b66ac395c3dd0d4d9.png

The old man rides off into the sunset with the MVP and the league championship.

Manager of the Year

image.thumb.png.b783995b650b9eab007ccf843fb1b874.png

The board is thrilled, I am signed on for another year.

National Division Best XI

image.thumb.png.c2bdcc57acef57b716dfa238784552f5.png

5 of our players also graced the Best XI. Still none in the media dream 11, but we perform well.

Retirees

image.thumb.png.d50abbad69180541cd4fd23d19a5a801.png

All three retirees want to be staff, Let me know if any of them seem like a good pickup. I really only control the coaching staff, but I don't mind seeing if we can convince the board to sign some club favorites.

image.thumb.png.de10c029c6913614f3cdd3162b012b57.png

Koljen is not gonna be joining us though as he may have knowledge, but not great ability.

image.thumb.png.7cf8ac94fbd7c45070c9a1e69da6a35a.png

Bonet is interesting though. He could help us secure some favorable loan outs.

Finances

image.thumb.png.949919508416659af7e81b2390c410be.png

We got a decent increase in the budgets. Our leading wage earner is $35,000 a year. So this could mean perhaps three players we might be able to purchase to slot right into the starting eleven. Unfortunately we had to expand to Europe scouting-wise as the pickings in Luxembourg were all prospects at best and we weren't the big fishes in that pond.

We are looking forward to what the new season brings. I think with our attentions split we will struggle to defend our title.Ā

Tactic

image.thumb.png.1458125c2408b8c37707c90c164b9db0.png

Last but not least the tactic we have to thank for our great run to end the season is GYR's Thanos tactic. We tried to tweak a few things over time, and this was what be felt most comfortable with. Primarily I would do my tweaking via personalized instructions during subs or at half-time. I liked the framework and shape it got our side into. Also prior to the upcoming transfer window this is likely our current starting XI.

Best of luck in your own saves!

Cheers!

June 2024: Season 2

Schedule

image.thumb.png.3ae0df0160b5c718898f833a47c67ad8.png

One more game of preseason before we enter the Champions Path First Qualifying Round. I think this is as winnable a tie as we could hope for.Ā

Competitions

image.thumb.png.a8eadf4777fd384be18dfb865d3a8d1d.png

The board still think fairly low of us. So we are gonna push for the best results in Europe and the Super Cup. Hopefully we can come away with a half a million in prize money for those two competitions. They may secure us professional football next year.

Transfers

image.thumb.png.cd9a47ab7cef4e12156c721f3f37f041.png

All the free transfers have arrived. They include the following...

image.thumb.png.370e762bcb2eb19cbc7fcb68221ccc69.png

He comes in from Sydney Olympic in Australia for a club highest earning wage. He is worth it though as an immediate media dream best XI player.

image.thumb.png.3fc3121493962b39fec194797d43c524.png

Next is a 22 year old Cameroonian inside forward on the right. A little expensive with some bad traits, but not a bad find for the director of football.Ā

image.thumb.png.96bf177e8cbde83a8611a7397ff3b209.png

Next was a great all around defender in from Walferdange in the division below. He averaged a 6.88 in 33 appearances in the league last season. He should gain Luxembourgish citizenship by October.

image.thumb.png.4737ec7f7322243b4c0f3430dec29c25.png

Herr was a squad player for divisional side Schifflange last season and will tentatively come in as our number 9.

image.thumb.png.5c4726493a4567370bc9484ec0707969.png

Another star from the 2nd division is Reihle. Can play anywhere in defense. He averaged a 6.72 in 32 appearance for Jeunesse in the Division of Honour.

image.thumb.png.991394e25cf120664f79a329f9858e4f.png

Lastly is a Liberian prospect at 18 years old. He has good potential and if we can bring him along he could be homegrown for us. He comes in after a great season in the Liberian second division. I really got to stay on top of the director of football as we need more homegrown talent if we hope to have the numbers to compete in Europe.

Squad View

image.thumb.png.dda47648dc1c9d2ab43866d04b6fe8ed.png

This is our new current best XI. Teah needs to be on a part time contract, but I need to wait a little while before I can ask the DoF to re-negotiate.Ā

Finances

image.thumb.png.2b2741d26cb0929076aa9f6ea9c87b3e.png

All the other bad non-contract players have been resigned to part time deals. So the wage bill stands at about what i expect going forward. Most teams have not been able to resign there players so we have flown up to 5th in the media predictions, but as players start to resign I expect that to drift back down to 6th to 10th.

Also thanks to our work with our DoF (who the board resigned) we only have 7 contracts expiring at the end of this season rather than the 20+ we had to deal with last season.

Wish us luck as we try to get the bag in Europe.Ā

Thanks for following along, and best of luck in your own saves.

Cheers!

July 2024

Schedule

image.thumb.png.52619c0e5036396763348312a009d666.png

Good start away from home getting the win against Shkendija, eased up at home, but held on to a win that put us into the second qualifying round. Where we faced a tough draw against FK Astana of Kazakhstan. Our away form was still good, but we allowed just too many goals at home to have a good shot in the second leg. So now we have been put into the Europa League Champions Path Third Qualifying round. It doesn't say if we lose here if we still get a chance to play in the Europa Conference League. So our goal is to win our draw against Estonian ChampionsĀ FC Flora Tallinn. 8 matches next month will be the most brtual test of depth we have ever had thus far. Luckily we have a full 30 man strong roster we can now utilize. 17 of our players now as thought to be of National Division quality.

Competitions

image.thumb.png.4ed0f119b1a88915bbb2a338ab75405f.png

The only question now is will these depth players be able to show the quality we need not to drop points in the league.Ā

Transfers

image.thumb.png.ba1773b39870d704ac1bde1fa68ee7ee.png

Meanwhile the director of football has been bringing in guys like we have unlimited money cheats on. Luckily all were brought in on free transfers.

image.thumb.png.75ef6b00d448da7a1b8756024e10c8c2.png

First is our new starting left back. Or should I say our former starting left back. Our old youth talent Schmit has returned to the club. He was playing in Germany playing for regional German side Buchbach. Good physicals and national division quality. Guess he liked what he saw from his old side, and we were able to capitalize on his homesickness.

image.thumb.png.4987768c9bb1987b7742ca84feda49d4.png

Next is Dutch youngster Rosina he has gallons of potential. Hopefully he will sign an actual contract in the near future as he is non-contract right now. He will probably stay as cover until January then we'll try to loan him out in the winter window. (If he will resign as part-time.)

image.thumb.png.ac33f4cf8463a6ff9860413a9ea8f482.png

Next Austrian phenom Busche. He has great key attributes. Can play in two of the attacking roles we need cover for and is only 16 years old. I don't know what kind of magic the DoF was able to pull off, but he comes in as the first name off the bench for the second best eleven. (Probably 10 appearances for the senior team this season is a likely number.)

image.thumb.png.38af670562f841cd311694d22dd6d1fe.png

Another Dutch player this time a volatile brave 6'2" center back. Only 17 years old he will most likely be sent out on loan in Luxembourg if we can find him something.

image.thumb.png.a581c4cb4f3c117137230a4b0c2afc61.png

Just went I though the director of football was done. He bought us in even more center back depth with an even younger driven Belgian. Nys is gonna get some time off the bench in the league or in the auxiliary cup competitions. Mentally he is good, but I could really use some growth in the physical department. He might be a good No-Nonsense sub late in some games. (5-10 appearance likely this season for the senior team.)

image.thumb.png.c29010dfd5feec6cce2a2f4a58212c06.png

Last was a decent upgrade over our current keeping talent. Kips is national talent that has spent some time playing in Germany throughout the football pyramid there. He is good, but Jesus does his first touch terrify me. I full expect a howler or two this season.

Finances

image.thumb.png.fb8abb0b19230c46ed3a1e45dd4f0b75.png

The wages are still reasonable but with another month of transfer window I just pray the DoF leaves room to resign all this talent. Perhaps I should busy him with those tasks now while I can.Ā

Next up is our third qualifying round match away. Can we get a good result to take into the home tie, and earn us a group stage appearance?

Thanks for following along. Best of luck in your own saves!

Cheers!

August 2024

Schedule

image.thumb.png.0b28ffa3250be045d2e6e4271ea51c63.png

We did it boys a convincing double win against Flora then a tough draw against PAOK sends us to the Europa Conference Group/League Phase. We immediately win 3 million in prize money and ask the board to let us go professional. The jury is still out, but we have to make sure the money doesn't go to our heads. All the other Luxembourg teams were knocked out in the first rounds. Teams like Swift Hesperange that was used to European money are in rough financial states.Ā

Competitions

image.thumb.png.acaabe2abbe350deb66e464b0e34c073.png

The media has us predicted to finish 12th despite our signings and improvement. None of our players are media dream best XI anymore either. So there is no guarantee we can win another title. We got to slow roll this financial windfall into staying-power.Ā

Transfers In

image.thumb.png.a762b8f32d761114b02520ed3535a9a5.png

Our director of football has thankfully got the hint. He only brought in one player and at a position of need as well. Teixeira is on loan from UNA Strassen where he started for them all last season. He won't start for us, but as long as were in Europe we will need his services in the congested schedule ahead.Ā

Transfers Out

image.thumb.png.5a7d43da3b1397b94f2618e8b039a962.png

Unfortunate out was last year's initial spark plug off the bench when M'Barki went down. Definitely was not good enough for us anymore, and was sinking to 3rd on the depth chart. He moved on a free non-contract transfer to Atert who won the Division of Honour title last season and promoted to our division. 1 goal in 2 appearances says he still has some life in those legs. Would have preferred to see him stay through till January to cover the upcoming fixtures, but we are gonna have to start trusting the youngsters sometime.

Squad View

image.thumb.png.99a2002d7a23a54f26b52fcee0e36a31.png

This is how the starting XI is shaping up. Kips picked up a (8-14 day) injury, but should be back soon. Meanwhile we haven't dropped any points in the league so we really thrived on all fronts this month.Ā

Next month is gonna be just as hectic as we immediately play 3 road games and our super cup matchup to end the month.Ā

Anybody have a favorite player so far? Mine is Oliveira, my best find I think of last season. We have him through this season, if we could extend him in any way he would be homegrown soon. I even think he has an outside chance of making the Luxembourg national team if he continues to improve. He is quite expensive though and without the ability to force through his extension ourselves we will most likely have to watch him go next summer.

Anyway that wraps up this month. Best luck in your own saves.

Let's go lads!

September 2024

image.thumb.png.e5bf0ada46b8cb84a8d650ab29586831.png

We win our first piece of hardware this season with a super cup win against Titus. We kept falling being, but we stayed true and got the win via Kenan in the 89th minute.

Schedule

image.thumb.png.ca90d91db8d1910e911fda4596e684a3.png

We dropped a couple points this month in the league, and Mondorf are making us pay as they are flying high early. Getting out to a 6 point lead on us in the table. However, we are the only team to make them look human.Ā

Competitions

image.thumb.png.d5c46ba943c5f50423156d09f75681e5.png

8 matches this month is really going to make us lean into our team depth. I imagine we are gonna struggle to catch up to Mondorf at all if by midseason that point gap becomes 9-12 points.Ā

Attacking Right Midfielder

image.thumb.png.ce6d7a95e4da4ec86cddc71428ebc5db.png

Our right attacking midfield pipeline looks like this.

1st is Bieleu who is undoubtedly our number starter at the position with 7.27 average rating. 7 assists and 3 goals in 11 appearances. 1.95 open play key passes per 90 in the league is in the top 10% in the league. He has helped us a lot in Europe. (Which has been his main venue.) Once we are out of those competitions I can't wait to see him tear up the league.

2nd is Kenan finally officially national division quality, but is probably as good as he is gonna get. Amazingly he is averaging 2.47 open play key passes per 90 which is 2nd in the league. He is clearly a step behind Bieleu, but his contribution in the Super Cup makes us hesitant to let him drift further down the pecking order. That speed has really served us well. I imagine he has 20 more appearances this season to make his mark.Ā

3rd is Luca our third string AMR. He has yet to make an appearance in the senior side this season. He made 8 appearance for us in the league last season, but so far is averaging a 7.15 in 4 appearances in the reserves, helping them to a current 6th place spot in the reserve division. We currently have him out on the transfer list as he wants a big wage increase, and at 24 I don't think he can ever become top flight quality.Ā

4th is Fernandes, another option currently on the transfer list. He has been with us for 2 seasons and has never made a first team appearance. Which I think says it all. We have money now, but not enough to keep guys that don't play. Not on a huge contract, but hopefully we can help him move on this coming transfer window.Ā

5th is Felizardo. He is interesting he doesn't have a ton of upside but he is currently lighting it up in the U18s with a 7.19 average rating 7 assists and 1 goal in 10 starts. He is currently stuck on a non contract so we may or may not push to have the DoF sign him to a proper contract if he continues to show good development.

6th is Paravicini who probably will never be a first teamer, but as a fellow American he has a youth "prove it" contract that we will most likely be letting go when it terminates.

Benjamin Bieleu

image.thumb.png.81f2dee0296d0eb1f632289b39ad134c.png

Just 22 years old with room to grow. Unfortunately he is part of the trend of big games cowards and injury prone footballers we have at the club. Luckily he has played well and stayed in good health. Also thankful to have him signed for the next 2 seasons.Ā

Kenan Avdusinovic

image.thumb.png.6003d69e25fa852293a2eee07c1f2c6c.png

Kenan has been a great servant of the club the last season and a half. He has shown a little regression hopefully he can hang with us as we grow, but if we fail to get back in the Champions league... I don't think we have the quality yet to fight our way through Europa conference league qualifying to get back into a big group stage with that much needed prize money.

Board: Club Vision

image.thumb.png.57cb4afc8b97020158a61d33b9130635.png

On a positive note the board have officially agreed to let us go professional that will kick in next season.Ā

Next up is a second round cup draw against Bastendorf from the 3rd tier of Luxembourg football. Then immediately we head away to Georgian sideĀ Samgurali Tskhaltubo in the Europa Conference League stage.

Thanks for following along, and best of luck in your own saves.

Cheers!

October 2024

Schedule

image.thumb.png.8fdae8c544c7fb62a26a4de95b0127d0.png

A mixed month. We started off with a bad first leg against Bastendorf but sealed the tie with a win at home. A great win away in Georgia versus Samgurali, but lost a surprising winnable contest at home versus Partizen, which we should have had no business being in.Ā  Unfortunately Mondorf has not stumbled in the slightest, meanwhile we dropped points in our game against relegation candidates Mondercange, at home no less.

Competitions

image.thumb.png.f551e2c1d10073f6ddef5c16a26d8e0d.png

We are starting to make this a two horse race in the league. but there is a lot of season left to play. We only have 6 games this month. With how packed our fixture list has been this is a nice reprieve.Ā

Attacking Left Midfielders

image.thumb.png.5af3f6b943ff9ea533d5e7000b017df3.png

Lets take a look at our AML depth...

1st is Walther an inspired signing and find by the DoF. He hasn't set the world on fire yet this season, but he has held his own on the left, right, and in midfield whenever called upon. Plus that is usually against vastly better sides in Europe. We are little worried about his step back development-wise, but with the professional training coming next season I hope he will have a resurgence in attributes.

2nd is Agovic our former starting attacker that was one of the top scorers for the club last season. 12 appearance for the club thus far this season, and a 6.92 average rating in the league ensures that he is still a common name off the bench. His striker skills have shone through though as he is in the top third of the league in shots on target per 90.

3rd is Amehi who has been with us for 3 years. He is approaching his ceiling in my opinion. Most of staff feels he will always be only leading Division of Honour quality at best. He was a starter back in 22-23, but has slowly drifted to the 3rd string side getting 10 appearance or so a season. He is here for another year and a half. We will mostly have his replacement in by that time.

4th is Fernandes also can play on both wings, but he is just too far away from the first team to get a chance here. Wanted byĀ FC Tricolore Gasperich in Luxembourg's third division though so perhaps he will get a chance at an offer or two in January.Ā

5th is Mendy still expensive and absolutely refuses to sign for anyone. He has turned down at least 4 offers on the contract table to transfer to another side. He isn't even playing well for the reserves. Just a bad signing we are still paying for.Ā

6th is Paravicini as we said before he has the versatility to make us let him play out his youth contract, but most likely not destined for a long stay at the club.

Gil-Linnart Walther

image.thumb.png.a03e620e0dc46957960e88e8f24df35f.png

Great find for this level. I think playing him into form, a good run in training, and we will be as high on him as ever. Especially at only 21 years old.

Kevin Agovic

Mr. Consistent, playing well in spite of the big match skittishness. Happily signed with us for the next 2 and a half seasons. That first touch has really been a god sent when coming in off the bench in Europe.

Our next match is away in the league against Fola Esch. Followed by Maccabi in the Coference League. Wish us luck as we try to stay within striking distance of Mondorf at the top of the table.Ā

Best of luck in your own saves.

Cheers!

November 2024

Schedule

image.thumb.png.1300e9d45e69d7b02e8d827a68dcf327.png

The epitome of mixed results this month. Mondorf have finally dropped a few points, but we have not been able to capitalize. We have a game in hand, with a UNA Strassen double header and 8 matchdays this month hopefully we can claim the top of the table thus resecuring the clubs future. (Also known as potential European prize money.)Ā

Competitions

image.thumb.png.213fd942829c6fc140c67b6d629998ef.png

5 league games this month and I think 13 points is the goal. We have struggled with taking our foot off the gas coming off the highs and lows of Europe but we won't get many more chances to pull ahead of the pack. Also by the end of this month I hope we will definitely be on to the 4th round of the national cup, but also maybe stealing a win from FK Sutjeska NikÅ”ić of Montenegro. As FK BodĆø/GlimtĀ are most likely winning the league phase so unless they hilarious rotate in their U18s... Sutjeska is our only shot at the knockout stage.

Strikers

image.thumb.png.d6cde1a04adbe157315e4a15f0adf270.png

What does our forward depth look like?

1st is Herr, 5 goals in 6 starts in the league. He is less consistent across all competitions, but still 0.6 non-penalty expected goals per 90 minutes. Making him the fourth most scoring efficiency forward in the National division. 23 years old. 1.5 year contract. Barring big incoming fees we can't fight off, he will be with us for some time.Ā

2nd is Maximilian, easily the biggest potential talent we have at the club. I still don't understand how we could sign him prior to 18 years old. Regardless he already has tremendous athleticism plus when we go professional next season we can make full use of his developmental age window.

3rd is Bah who is another good talent and is thankfully homegrown in nation. My biggest worry is the lack of first team football. He is the best 3rd striker option making him tough to let out on loan. Especially while still in 3 competitions, but he is averaging a 7.6 rating in the reserves and needs to play in full senior fixtures. Unfortunately the DoF is signing everyone to star player contracts so rotation is becoming impossible. Perhaps if we were in fairly good secure form by January he could go out on loan for the second half of the season.

4th is Hoffman currently transfer listed as hopefully someone thinks he can still reach his potential. I doubt it though. He has not grown with us. Only 3rd tier Luxembourgish quality with poor skills like 2 stamina, 4 balance, and 3 passing. I think he has a career further down the league pyramid but we have seen enough to feel confident in selling/releasing him this next off-season. He might be a loan farm guy if we want to try that out, but we aren't Mr. Moneybags yet.

Teo Herr

image.thumb.png.b3496de9069d6053abf93480b8d312e6.png

As big of an inspiration Herr has been, he still is on the edge of the first team. I mean that to say is he is our third lowest CA starter in the first XI. Therefore it feels like the DoF uses that as the matrix for what first team positions to look for in the transfer market. So, development and form will be his best tools to preserving his first team spot.

Maximilian Busche

image.thumb.png.0728bdffbc4d32361edd040fae050e03.png

Still a step behind as a backup, only being Division of Honour standard. He has the right key attributes, and at this level physicals are still king.

Thanks to everyone for continuing to follow along. Best of luck in your own saves.

Look forward to updating you as we finish our European campaign.

Let's go lads!

December 2024

Schedule

image.thumb.png.15c3d453e874c819d0b94ddc5e03eb80.png

11 points in the league wasn't a bad showing. The real kick in the teeth was that we actually managed to beat Sutjeska. Only to lose 0-3 to Bodo/Glimt leaving us one goal differential shy of a knockout spot... Brutal.

UEFA Europa Conference League

image.thumb.png.e40ddacd2c80e2e629bd05caaf3b0ac6.png

We deserved at least one goal from that match, but fate was cruel and thus I think we actually will go from 4 European sides to 3 sides next season as we apparently had a good 2019 campaign in Luxembourg, but that goes away and we will fall down a few spots as we have our highest coefficient points in 4 years, but 0.5 points less than 2019 so... Rough.

Luxembourg National Division

image.thumb.png.4f8249744123e7b63a7689db8277120e.png

The silver-lining is we managed to claim the top spot in the league. Mondorf went on a just suicidal run of form for the former league leaders (1-point from 4 games and 3 points in 6 games). We now hold our own destiny in our hands as we cross the half-way mark of the season. This slows the pace of fixtures as well, and will allow us to send a good chunk of the first team out on loan and bring in some fresh faces as the January window opens.Ā

Transfers

image.thumb.png.e2f7176785e1ac05a09c04b7677ddecf.png

First off incoming is the club's new out and out best player, English 21 year old Micah Hamilton. He arrives on a free after being released by Manchester City... MANCHESTER CITY! He is quality and isn't even the team's highest paid player. He immediately became part of the media dream 11, and sent us from predicted 12th place finish to 6th.

image.thumb.png.902617c2b7039d9a611cdc42e0466bee.png

Next was another player for the future. 16 year old defender and former amateur talent from the Netherlands, Arno. Good find and good contract. He probably wont play this year, but he could be one to watch out for.

Squad View

The next section I wanted to show how the senior side was playing. The first image shows the starters, and the second a look at the backups at each position.

Starting XI

image.thumb.png.8be87a49f68c7e2ce6af6cd4e4c774f2.png

Hamilton leads the way. Herr and Konate are now the squad guys that get subbed for occasionally. Teah was starting for a majority of the last two months, but with his versatility he is more often a super sub and spot start.

Second XI

image.thumb.png.9c2abc0e1a291fe385f8dfd6b69630c3.png

Teah leads the way for the second team. Edrees has really fallen down the ranks despite not playing badly. Loua was in the first XI for a period of the season, but injuries lost him the starting job. Nys is a really exciting prospect, but Nsanzimana's and Reihle's versatility really has the third string defenders struggling to find playing time. All told the 3rd teamers maybe received 54 appearances total across all competitions with the senior team. So maybe 4-5 appearances per player. Each probably also have ~10 appearances with the reserves to maintain sharpness. Enough to get us excited, but hopefully most can get a winter loan deal and get 10-15 more senior team competitive matches before season's end. (I feel like I read somewhere an ideal match load over the age of 18 to maintain progression is ~30 matches a season. If we can't fulfill that for the prospects we may have to go to a smaller roster next season rather than the full 33 man roster we had this season for the senior team.

Summary

image.thumb.png.ca47ad497814d41a1075ce53b619cd4b.png

We briefly eclipsed the 5 mil bank balance mark. I'm anxious for the months to tick by so I can request more infrastructure upgrades. Professional status is coming. Youth facility upgrade is planned. Next is youth recruitment if I can convince the board.Ā

As you can see we are still being hounded by playing time dynamic issues. Nevertheless we are on to the 4th round of the cup against Fola Esch, and it looks like with a few suspensions and an injury we might have a statement first leg game at home. The board are pleased. However, the only hold out to a A+ rating seems to be the board expectation of one more round win in the Luxembourg Cup. So, fingers crossed.

Thanks for following along. I hope this update highlighted some things a little better. As always if there is some different screens you would like to see feel free to let me know.

Best of luck in your own saves.

Cheers!

January 2025: Winter Window

Schedule

image.thumb.png.a6adce88ffac2715d82b4355ea3f7095.png

An undefeated January has moved us forward in the cup, but necessarily in the league.

Competitions

image.thumb.png.3b3b8dc76eba705691941ba457e7841e.png

The top 4 are hanging with us. We play two in them this month, both at home. With 14 more games to go this season, it would be nice to be comfortably ahead by March or April. (Man we hate big games, don't make me try to do those pre-game team meetings.)

Transfers

image.thumb.png.b6ec9c1392cc0c428d45053fc3d04771.png

We managed to send the DoF on a chase of prospects again. With 6 players brought in 18 years of age or younger. The most impress one of the lot is...

image.thumb.png.0f02a5dbfd2254d6a26a19b41beeb250.png

Eric comes in immediately as our 3rd best right back in the senior team. Nevertheless we still won't get a chance to see him until next season. He comes in on a free from German divisional side Zehlendorf. First touch, dribbling, and crossing are really his only deficiencies. Hopefully he can become something here.

Development Center

image.thumb.png.8c096a58dc4e383281f39773832cff32.png

With us now only in two competitions. We loaned out a majority of the 3rd teamers. Best of which was 24 year old Dedenon who is starting for Division of honour side Medernach, currently battling for the promotion playoff. I think that says all we need to know about our depth that no one went to a top flight team. (Only the top 17 players in our team are considered top flight quality despite two top of the table season performances from the lads.)

Club Overview

image.thumb.png.2e8e5b9bdcc5ff99fa764cfd1cdb094b.png

As said professional status for the club will go into affect this summer. As well as an upgrade to the youth facilities. The board also raised the junior coaching budget. Next off-season I intend to push for training facilities upgrades. Not a bad win percentage as manager too.

Summary

image.thumb.png.540c6ec8caf1dd5a69b11e03fcf7ba50.png

Lots to go over on this screenshot. Our general performance is great we dominate on both sides of the ball. Most impressive is our crossing, but our movement and passing are good too. We are a little under our expected goals, but that is FM sometimes.

Most interesting is news of a potential takeover. Probably nothing but something of note.Ā

I hope you guys have enjoyed following along. Best of luck in your own saves.

Lets go and make the league sides fear us getting knocked out of Europe!Ā

Cheers!

February 2025

Schedule

image.thumb.png.76b4ce8fe113042f86c48117712e408b.png

We hit a tough patch mid month. Many players were demanding to play every game, but then were putting in bad performances because they were extremely tired. Furthermore only half of those players agreed to rest. (If anyone is experiencing this try to get at least a fortnight of agreed rest as these players will be right back to demanding playing time the day the rest promise is lifted.)

Competitions

image.thumb.png.03c10a2b027288e493c0a32aeafd75b9.png

Progres surprised us but we have managed to still keep a healthy gap between us and Differdange in 2nd place. We are also in to the semi-finals of the domestic cup against 8th place Jeunesse Esch. Both sides could use a European cash injection, and are playing head games constantly make comments in the media about how we are overachieving.Ā

Keepers

image.thumb.png.923d5dd399a77aadc3448fe0ab85e870.png

This month we are covering the keeper pipeline

1st is Kips. Leading the league in clean sheets despite only playing 18 of the 28 games in the league thus far. Also passing accuracy is 95%. Things are a little rockier in Europe, but a 6.84 average rating across all competitions is solid.

2nd is Edrees. Edrees is leading the league with his array of passing with the ball at his feet. Also he has 33 saves in 13 appearances across all competitions. I'm really hoping we can get him a few more appearances before the end of this campaign.

3rd is tied between Fabio and Omar. Omar is the new kid 16 years old brought in on a free fromĀ SC Eltersdorf in the German lower divisions. So far so good in the U18s with 12 conceded in 12 appearances and an average rating of 6.89 with 4 clean sheets. That has helped the youngsters grab 1st place in the youth top flight with 8 games to go.

Fabio on the other hand has been a victim of our success. He has been with us for 6 of the last 7 seasons. Yet he hasn't had more than 4 starts in any of the last 4 seasons. He certainly is no longer good enough for our level and thus will probably have to be moved on next season. Unfortunately he fairly contend to stay. So we may have to unsettle him in order to get him out.Ā

First Choice

image.thumb.png.4edcfda865b589edcc43222128645485.png

Still only maybe a top 5 keeper in this league. Kips has played well, but I don't know how much better he will get. Therefore our staff assessment is he is outstanding at this level, but he probably wont carry us any higher in Europe.

Second Choice

image.thumb.png.036394835cf245dbcf4bdc7ec42d66f9.png

Saudi Arabian with still a lot of potential. Edrees has shown flashes, but he needs to keep developing. He has regressed in physicals over his stay with us, and has had minimal growth elsewhere. He should be eligible for Luxembourg citizenship at the beginning of next season. Perhaps a half year loan would help jump start his development next season.

Luxembourg National Division

image.thumb.png.cd074076fc52da3219790fb76ae3fc3f.png

We are projected to finish anywhere from 1st to 14th now in the league. We have rotated so heavily we don't have a lot of league leaders in the side. Nonetheless we are outpacing anyone else in the league in expected goals by team by at least 20 goals. Non-penalty expected goals per 90 is 2.32 and the second closest isĀ FC Swift Hesperange at 1.69 per 90.

Quiet next month with only 4 games, all in the league. Now is the time to go 4 for 4, claim 12 points, and put any chance of other teams catching us to bed. Our biggest tie will be 3rd placeĀ FC Alisontia Steinsel at home mid month. Let's go lads!

Thanks to everyone for following along, best of luck in your own saves.

March 2025

Schedule

image.thumb.png.b9dc8443a93d08d04688d5a224d5dce7.png

Finally we start to close the door on the competition. We can no longer mathematically finish lower than 6th. 6 games to go in the league and a 8 point gap on 2nd. Unfortunately, I think Rodange is definitely going down. Maybe we should look into an affiliate club further down in the pyramid.Ā

Luxembourg National Division

image.thumb.png.6e0114fb67f7623ce201b594f650705d.png

Amazingly the potential takeover talks have not ceased since I think just prior to the winter transfer window. The administration may be in chaos but the dynamics have mellowed out and the team is much more even keel.

Defenders on the Right

image.thumb.png.81933f358187aff86f1762005e78dff1.png

We got a lot of right backs and potential right backs at the club, lets go through them. (Let me know if everyone would like to see all the available right backs or just those natural or starting at that position.)

1st Oliveira hands down. His loan ends this year. Hopefully we can set up an extension. I just wish he wasn't so expensive so we could get him in permanently.Ā

2nd is Nsanzimana who is luckily our best skilled player off the bench. Which is good if we lose Duarte this will give us good cover until we can address the hole in the side.

3rd is Almeida. Reihle could play there, but he is better suited as a center back. Almeida was brought in on a free fromĀ FC Hertha 03 Zehlendorf in the German lower divisions. Only 16 years old, he has good potential and is already 2nd tier quality. He has only played in 4 games for the reserves, but has already put in 3 key tackles, 4 key passes, and winning nearly 5 headers a game with a 7.05 average rating. He will be 16 for a while yet, but when he turns 17 he will be out immediately to a Division of Honour side I have no doubt.

4th is Federspiel currently on loan in the 3rd division withĀ FC Erpeldange 72. So far they have not kept their promises, failing to play him even once. Prior to that he was tearing it up in the reserves with a 7.40 average rating in 7 appearances for the side. His speed is just second to none. I don't know how he gets into the senior side long term as he just doesn't have the potential of Almeida, Nys, or Moller. We will just have to wait and see how he progresses next season.

5th is Rudy Duah but he has been on the transfer list for a while now and will be released at the earliest opportunity. Ie. right after he returns from his poor showing in the third division withĀ FC Jeunesse Gilsdorf.

First Choice

image.thumb.png.afcde19922ec266f4fea90d45db9fdeb.png

We would love to have him back especially with his great dribbles made per 90, and his league leading 0.56 crosses completed per 90 from the wingback spot.Ā

Second Choice

image.thumb.png.383c195b2d52318bb7abd98ab60861ec.png

Nsan is a little older, and has struggled to develop. He has played super often with 40 appearances for the first team, but that is mainly due to him being able to play anywhere across the back four and put in a good shift. He is one of the best in the divisionĀ across all defenders with 2.41 tackles per 90, and 7.58 progressive passes per 90. Glad to have him on the books for another two seasons.

Summary

image.thumb.png.0279940e82ae58e632c791401e4e287f.png

Here is a summary overview of the team. Next up is our first leg againstĀ Jeunesse Esch in the semi-final of the Luxembourg Cup.

2 more months to go and 8-9 games depending on our cup performance. I think we can start to push for the treble this year.

Thanks to anyone following along, and best of luck in your own saves.

Cheers!

April 2025

Champions

image.thumb.png.805a628018c0ab15d5f292808dcb8db2.png

We did it! We have done the double. Winning the league with 3 games to spare. We immediately were allowed to go professional and were given a new contract. Also many of the players got resigned to full-time contracts, but that hiked the wages quite a bit.Ā

Schedule

image.thumb.png.b295c7e9595a3cfea4054e5c0d866a3a.png

We also came back in a magnificent second leg at home in the Semis to beat Jeunesse and progress to the domestic cup finals!

Luxembourg Cup

image.thumb.png.c77dfa49a79e8d171003821d334d045f.png

We face 10th place in the league, US Rumelange, in one game "winner takes all". $85,000 to the winner. Not that we need it, but I would not mind making the hall of fame winning a treble.

Luxembourg National Division

image.thumb.png.8e3a1f4204df5874908130c76dc534ee.png

2 games to go. Hopefully the top guys don't get too upset if I rotate the side a little bit. At the end we were projected an 8th place finish and have won the league back to back.

Board Vision

image.thumb.png.ed99a3a3dd2047695a562e4ea937bbcd.png

Big budgets also released by the board. They are increasing our wage by 50%. Now we just got to hope that the DoF doesn't give out too many bad contracts. FurthermoreĀ Dylan Pinheiro has been resigned as our director of football for one more year, but his skills have not grown. So we might have to replace him next year. If it gets too crazy, we might have to lay down the law and demand more control of the business side. So far I like my small responsibility pool though.

Contract Struggles

image.thumb.png.de4ac0f3ba12ebb6067ed0bf6fd7a63e.png

The struggle is the contract situation. 9 major contracts in the starting eleven are most likely gonna demand a big wage increase with the new profile of the club. For instance Jovanovic has already got his big wage increase, and I was hoping for the 50 grand level to be more of an exemption rather than the rule. (Remember FC Swift Hesperange were starting to get used to champions league money, and after not making it for two seasons they are 1.21 mil in debt. We don't want to be the next cautionary tale.)

Maybe I should put it all in the scouting budget to hid the wage? Anyway wish us luck as we finish off this season. Thanks for following along, best of luck in your own saves.

Cheers!

Treble Winners!

Untitled.png.4cc9a6378c299696542d15e485e7b04c.png

We did it lads! All the silverware we could hope for domestically. 2.34 goals per game. -8.04 underperforming expected goals per game. We generated so many chances we should have done better lol. 44 more chances created then any team in the league. I'm super proud of this team. Unfortunately we are still only top 8 by media prediction and next year they expect a top 4 finish and to compete for either the Luxembourg Cup or the Super Cup. So we have to work just as hard and we have way less wiggle room.Ā

End of Season: Schedule

image.thumb.png.f1c893e7941fa9ca59db79e6b058210c.png

We finished the season with only 1 lose since the end of February. As well as only 2 dropped points in that time as well (11 league games, nearly a third of the season).Ā

History

image.thumb.png.d81e25dfbb7ed4b6ec47251010afc422.png

We are masters of Luxembourg. Now that we are top dogs we got to defend it. We finally made the favoured personnel list on our club page. As well as signed another contract this time we seemed to have earned a two-year deal through the 26/27 season.Ā

Team Report

image.thumb.png.e7c921007202eef955f346e04971d839.png

I have never since it so succinctly put then in this team report. The current squad of players is .... slightly below average in the national division, and one of the weakest in Europe.Ā  I liked Konate in the midfield, but the assistants have him off the bench.

First Team

image.thumb.png.440164371f33b3e8035af0105f8c926b.png

Oliveira did so much, interceptions, assists, and even goals. He will be missed. He has refused to come back. Our striker to always the main goal scorer in this tactic. Loua chipped in woth a strong showing too, but he was penalty taker for the second team, and first midfield name off the bench. Walther needs to chill out though as I will not be giving him this much playing time next season. Bieleu and Jovanovic were the stars though. Each with 25 goals contributions, and only 22 years old.

Second Team

image.thumb.png.40f1e042a5c9abd50adbb63782a79370.png

Loua and Teah were invaluable and present all season long. Busche was really impressive in the first half of the season. Avdusinovic is probably finished his last regular season for us. Especially if Busche makes the jump or Teah moves over from left inside forward.

Third Team

image.thumb.png.e0238dc00a4ff42419ddc4337cc5c070.png

Only limited appearances around in the third string, but we have some potential highlights. Rosina I think could make progress if he gets playing time somewhere.Ā  Zilli still holding in there. He and Fabio are most likely gonna find new homes in the winter window. Almeida is exciting but nothing of note yet.

Great season. Now a big off-season where we have to try to reign in the spends of the DoF. Scouting budget money hiding and budget manipulation may be our best way forward.

Thanks for following along, best of luck in your own saves.

Cheers!

June 2025

image.thumb.png.072934a35cc30aa235676f89e2fccd22.png

Facilities are starting to creep up. Still waiting to hear back from the board on upgrade to training facilities. Without European prize money. We would have lost roughly $500,000. So, we need at least a million or two of prize money to stay afloat with all this 5% raises the DoF added.

Transfers: Early June

image.thumb.png.5f7f656634e8ca54b729461594d4960a.png

Nothing on the outs early, but at least one Spanish standout coming in.

image.thumb.png.dec037f285e7cc943ac9a392aaccd181.png

On a free from San Felix. He has tons of potential, and might even push Jovanovic to the second team, but early season form will show us more. Got to love the professionalism.

Transfers: Late June

image.thumb.png.7b836b39e7372090ebee0bb57162cebc.png

Oliveira dropped from 400k to 20k and the DoF was able to sign him for 10k when I demanded that he was our urgent signing. He comes in permanently.Ā

image.thumb.png.255d989c490b9906932563388702801d.png

Tin in on a free loan from Dinamo. He can play anywhere in the attack. He immediate made the media dream eleven. I could see him being an award winner by the end of the season. Gil and Bieleu will have to play for their chances to stay in the first team or start being willing to rotate in and out as needed.

image.thumb.png.6636ba36a985ac2eebae925b4c624264.png

Another young Spanish midfielder this time on a free from Damm. Another professional intelligent player that has a lot of room to grow.Ā

image.thumb.png.46a2574a7b3050a6a3ff8f13a15752fd.png

Last out is our oldest player Ziggy. He was wanting to leave and I couldn't convince the DoF otherwise to see goes for 10k to Wellington Phoenix.

Media Prediction

image.thumb.png.4712b62aa2603222479df87eba4a8e59.png

That puts us as the team to beat in this league now. We have spent big money this window. $11,310 total lol. Hopefully we have helped our depth enough to not lose form in the various competitions throughout the season.

Schedule

image.thumb.png.053d8d0043d60acd3a3632eb65df8cf4.png

Next up is our game against Zrinjski the champions ofĀ Bosnia & Herzegovina. They are better than us there whole first time is Hamilton quality or better. We need to win this round though as losers skip the Europa league and get dumped straight into the conference.

Wish us luck as we try to bring all these new personalities together. Here the first team as it stands...

July 2025

image.thumb.png.a60e07534cea328cc56a382adce808a7.png

A great win away againstĀ HÅ K Zrinjski Mostar then a good start against Zalgiris in the second round. We were optimistic heading into the home leg, but we could just not break them down. Looking back over the tie we were getting extremely lucky with offsides calls that kept us in it. Alas, it was not to be and we now find ourselves in the Europa League Champions Path Third Qualifying Round. We just have to win one more tie either here or in the Conference League to make it back to a league phase and big prize money.

Transfers

image.thumb.png.9a928f623f0c9201bfbec4b28d5ef528.png

We had some transfers come in. Capped by our biggest transfer fee ever spent, and the biggest in Luxembourg National Division history.Ā

image.thumb.png.fe58d993e7e2ce5eafdf454366ac44cb.png

After Ziggy left we managed to talk the DoF into this young Serbian loan from Partizan. Unfortunately he agreed to a kind of hefty fee paid monthly, but overall its not a bad deal for the talent we got.

image.thumb.png.3b74b4528e8e16efe5cbba94f2f2f1ea.png

Next, another loan. This time from Benfica. Amazingly we bring in Duarte Oliveira just in time to see him slowly become a squad guy. As this wingback on the right will be taking the starting role. Now we certainly have depth.Ā

image.thumb.png.4ba997344a14edbb8fc11c9a9c2d9670.png

Last is our record signing. The DoF paid his release clause of $105,000 from Mallorca. Resolute personality, which is a huge bonus. Luis comes in to cover our weakest position in the team, left back.

Now we have 27 players of National Division (Luxembourg Top Flight) quality.

First Team

image.thumb.png.f39e901565fecd18c1af6a7c836f486d.png

This is the best 11 as it stands. We are now the richest team in the top flight, with the highest salary, and the only professional side. We also have over half the media dream 11 in our squad.

Media Prediction

image.thumb.png.fd5722fbe6b560f8cec560cd86f100c1.png

We are the giants now. We are not the giants reputation wise, but in practicality that's how the rest of the league treats us now.

Competitions

image.thumb.png.f6086a4bd32ea508af2b7a75ad54fca4.png

As such our board expectations reflect that new mantle. Must get Europe in the league (minimum), must win the super cup, and must reach quarter finals of the Luxembourg Cup.

This is a new test for us and hopefully our new depth can help us rise to the occasion.Ā

Thanks to anyone following along, best of luck in your own saves.

Cheers!

August 2025

image.thumb.png.e8efbd2f6ffb1d04a53431a32d3031ee.png

8 games this month. Mixed form that unfortunately has us getting off to a poor start in the league. We couldn't hang on in the Europa league and were knocked out away at APOEL on penalties. So we draw Qarabag, theĀ Azerbaijan champs. A tough draw at home didn't look great, but we absolutely thrashed them away from home to secure league phase European football again this year.

Transfers

image.thumb.png.aaf7293578a26a2411c148901c5d611c.png

Only one transfer in this month. I don't know if its good that we used up most of our wage space prior so that our DoF seemed less transfer-happy, but we have gotten better with a domestic pickup from US Rumelange.Ā

image.thumb.png.4ef92c36707b0075f45f9812aa01ae12.png

Sinner comes in as our 5th best central defender. Sinner was a regular starter for the mid-table side over the last two seasons. Progressing his average rating from a usual 6.6Ā  in 23/24 to a consistent 6.9 just prior to his signing with us. He won't move the needle a lot, but more top flight quality depth is cool with me.Ā

Competitions

image.thumb.png.6c03449e9de87d3007f3f932917790b2.png

That leaves us languishing in 14th in the league. Hopefully with only 6 games to be played this month we can make some progress in the league.

Ball Playing Defenders

image.thumb.png.06e7ac9ec8dd46499868a116b6956035.png

As for our centerback depth we have...

1st is Simic. Very excited to see what he can do on loan for us.Ā

2nd is Aldin. 28 years old, consistent player, who did well starting atĀ F91 Dudelange last season helping them back to an European finish in the league.

3rd is Meddour. Finally old faithful has been displaced in the starting squad. This will be his 5th season with us. The big match king remains our captain, but if he continues to pitch fits about playing time we may have to rethink his dynamic role.

4th is Massimo. Driven, 20 years old. Unfortunately he has fallen slightly in potential and most staff seem to think he is more 3 star PA then 3.5. Hopefully we can give him a run of games while we are in Europe and maybe cultivate some interest in him transfer-wise.

5th is Sinner the new guy who will be a reserve player and spot starter in the domestic cup games occasionally this season. Most likely we will be sending him back out on loan during the winter window.

6th is Reihle, the oldest man on the team. He completes our senior players at centerback, but as you can see we have a lot of guys just waiting to take his spot. He will most likely be sold this year to make room.

First Choice

image.thumb.png.3d2c430d42d9c956f51c24b1469c1e54.png

Initially not great training results, but I have no doubt Simic's complete physicals will help him in putting up a seasonal best eleven performance.

Second Choice

image.thumb.png.7011d18c10e159f5a53c8b5b0dc3d7d9.png

Nothing much to write home about with Aldin either (most high mental attributes), but I feel really confident having a player who was always in the league's top 10 center-backs list each of the last two seasons.

Summary

image.thumb.png.e03fe8d7b9c0ab81d94d461aa66cfc8d.png

We have two games in hand in the league. Two wins would put us up in 6th. Hopefully we can cap off this month by winning the Super Cup once again.Ā Ā

Thanks to anyone following along, best of luck in your own saves.

Cheers!

Super Cup Win!

image.thumb.png.515e47f1dc9be49829e1d0c75e4c10e5.png

A poor run of form this month is capped by a good win against Rumelange in the Luxembourg Super Cup.

Schedule

image.thumb.png.09a44fd46d56005ecfdfebd14d260224.png

Dropped 7 points in this month alone in the league. Which has us sitting in the bottom half of the table.Ā

Competitions

image.thumb.png.d4160ae82e3266d65d43ea9efc284755.png

We have 8 matches next month.Ā 2 in the cup, 2 in the Europa Conference, and the remainder in the league. We will most likely be 2 games in hand in the league by month's end, but if we can't get up to 9th or 8th I need to start getting concerned.

Defenders on the Left

image.thumb.png.4d8d4bd1c63a680deb26e51fe55598cc.png

We have a good number of depth at left back but not a lot of quality depth that is pushing for a place in the first team.

1st is Luis, 18 year old stud that has the position locked down for most likely the next couple seasons. Pressures, tackles, and sprints per 90 are at the top 3 of the league at his position.

2nd is Leon. He was great last season and has remained one of the first names off the bench this season. As well as a regular starter when rotating. Hopefully he can grow a little more.

3rd is Muller, and he falls into the 2nd tier quality players in the first team. Only being leading Division of Hour quality. He may surpass Leon one day, but most likely it will be by a hair. He will get 10-ish appearances over the next 3 months. Hopefully that will show us what we have before letting him going out on loan at the winter window.

4th is Zilli who was a good servant, but has failed to find a move away. I will most likely hire an intermediary in the winter window to help us get him off the books.

5th is Van de Maele. He is young and can certainly be a first teamer in time. I just want him to get senior game time on loan soon to continue his development. I wish their were more professional teams to loan him to in Luxembourg.

First Choice

image.thumb.png.4a8eaf8fb53fc89716e119b2a15fc6e2.png

His tremendous work rate has been perfect up and down the left as a wing-back on attack. Can't wait until we are out of Europe and we can set him loose on the league.

Second Choice

image.thumb.png.073bd002a58e90a6bc9e8f1f3967bfed.png

Finally we have a big match replacement for Leon, but as cover he is a perfect fit. Plus, that pace can still help him recover even in the Europa Conference.

Summary

image.thumb.png.b200ee6f4057be3cb32a754c5c10513e.png

As you can see we are suffering from similar problems we had in season one. We are expected to be scoring more than we are and thus we are missing out on 5 points we should have. Which would have us in 2nd place rather than 12th. We need to make a serious jump as you can see this is the first time we have dropped below a B+ as a board grade. Meanwhile the supporters have us down to a C+ grade. I don't think we are in danger yet as we are still secure, but if we are still in the bottom half by Christmas we will be getting a talking to from the board.

Hope you all have enjoyed this recap this month. Work came up and I had to set the save down for a little bit, but the new season of Welcome to Wrexham has me needing to scratch the FM itch again.

Best of luck in your own saves, and wish us luck as we try to steal some prize money from our European matchups.

Cheers!

October 2025

Schedule

image.thumb.png.79229395d1cb69c9fca4c08453c31321.png

Only 2 points dropped this month helped us rise to 6th, but we have no games in hand in the league.Ā  A close game againstĀ Football Club NordsjƦlland from Denmark gave us the confidence to go play like we had nothing to lose and claim a draw against AZ.Ā

Competitions

image.thumb.png.67d8005b587761c68057c03db6ecea67.png

This leaves us a point below the knockout cutoff. Hopefully we can steal some points from another match this run.

Defensive Midfielders

image.thumb.png.c4c2c09e26dd9e0ecffd2b08bc435b51.png

Now for the Defensive Midfielders. Not a ton a star power, but a ton of potential and cover.

1st is Pablo. 18 years old with 16 starts and a 7.04 average rating. He has been an incredible signing. Especially because he agreed to squad player playing time expectations while playing more like a regular starter. Love the professionalism.

2nd is Konate has been a long time defender that has fallen to the second string team. Only 12 appearances so far this season. He hasn't made any big impacts, but his defensive skills make him a firm sub to have off the bench.

3rd is Nys. 17 years old with miles of potential. He was gonna get some playing time, but has been out with two minor injuries during a particularly packed portion of our schedule and missed both opportunities. Fortunately we got to see him play with the reserves averaging a 6.85 with 2 goals and 3 assists in 20 appearances for the 2nd team. He will be 18 by the second half of the season. So he will most likely be out on loan next transfer window.Ā

4th is Djogou who was originally the third man, but with the young-ins closing in behind him he is essentially transfer listed going forward. William was a 3 season servant to the club, but has lost playing time every year. Also being that he refuses to become Luxembourgish he just hurts our foreign player limit squad rules. So, au revoir mate.

5th is Rosina, the former heir apparent has got to find some senior minutes away on loan soon to keep pace with the glutton of potential we have around his skill-level. He played great in the second division last season with FC Syra Mensdorf, and would do well with a return their to finish off the season.Ā

First Choice

image.thumb.png.84461bf2ecd195697e2387ebf71f8484.png

The professionalism and the future home grown status is incredible appealing to us. We have suffered with small European rosters and would love to some depth in these long league phases. Not only that but his ability to play up and down the spine makes him a good bench option going forward if needed. However, being double footed I doubt anyone is displacing him anytime soon.Ā

Second Choice

image.thumb.png.42485f8598ad91c901843613a3b4a25e.png

Our newest Luxembourg citizen. He thinks he can play for the national team, but likely he will never get there. Nonetheless we love his skills for us off the bench. Great in the air, loves big matches. He will probably receive another 20 appearances throughout the remainder of the season. Next season might be a trying one for him if he can't round out his potential soon.Ā

Data Hub

image.thumb.png.b8278835181b72892c305c1ba406b861.png

Here are some data hub highlights. Defending looks good and scoring make us feels like we will never have to worry about getting shots in the league.Ā

Luxembourg National Division

image.thumb.png.d7c798da84d01267e7e40910292579f2.png

Our goal differential is really gonna be an asset at the end of the season, but we still have a lot of ground to make up to catch up with Alisontia Steinsel.Ā

7 games this month with perhaps two of our most winnable Europa Conference league games against Limassol and Flora. Wish us luck as this month will be make or break to see if we have any shot at the knockout stage of the competition.

Best of luck in your own saves.

Let's go Hostert!

November 2025

Schedule

image.thumb.png.ec6aa094695238e930319c1458449d57.png

An almost perfect month. Of course our only loss was against Differdange in the league. Which has prevented us from catching up with the league leaders, Alisontia, in points despite moving up a couple places.

UEFA Europa Conference League

image.thumb.png.50c9671bffff21280546240f7f5239d3.png

Two big wins against bottom of the table teams in Europe make us good candidates to make the knockouts. This actually gives us the highest coefficient points ever for our country. We are still too far behind to get more teams in Europe, but a great season for Luxembourg even if the dream of progressing ends in this round.Ā

Luxembourg National Division

image.thumb.png.09e7d3c81b0f245098b3d1e8ae1bb544.png

We are just outside the European places with a win separating us and 2nd. The harder task will be catching first. We aren't even at the half-way point, but the European prize money has become pretty necessary for our financial stability. As we are double the next highest player salary in the league, Progress with $550,000 a year.

Central Midfielders - Mezzala (Support)

image.thumb.png.d4bcf3b26af2fcd861a2b8c450741d6c.png

We have 7 players we consider the pipeline for central midfield.

The starting duo is Emili and Schmidtka. Both are averaging above a 7 in rating. Plus, with both lads being here permanently at such young ages. They will be home grown at club in a few short years.

The second duo is Jovanovic and Teah. Teah definitely has the potential to stay around as a squad regular, I believe he also will be homegrown within a season and a half. Meanwhile Jovan has been a team regular the last 3 seasons. Averaging 39 appearances in all competitions the last two seasons. Both guys have some versatility that will keep them getting appearances for at least the next two seasons.Ā

The third duo is Loua and Dzafo. Loua was originally kicking up a fuss at the beginning of the season, but has accepted fringe player roles alongside Dzafo. Dzafo seems like he would have a little more useful role versatility, but he refuses to claim Luxembourg secondary nationality despite being eligible. If Bradley takes that next step Dzafo will find himself on the transfer list as he has the higher transfer value. All three will be off on loan in the winter window.

First Choice

image.thumb.png.16a57e8e516c74cf4a736f8df928b97f.png

Emili has been great in the assist department with 7 in 21 starts. He has stayed healthy and with his professionalism we have seen a slight rise in his skills. With a training facility upgrade next month. That should help his development.

Second Choice

image.thumb.png.2d70e0f141535a7d8563a849831480ad.png

Schmidtka has regressed skill wise a little despite a good mentorship group and good professionalism. Regardless he has been player of the match 3 times this season in the odd national division game he has started in. With that leadership though if he can stay in the first XI he will most likely be captain once he becomes home-grown (21 years old).

Overview

image.thumb.png.d31b7c320b3c4e31886d3676800d268a.png

7 matches again next month with our next game as the second leg in the cup against Mondercange. Interestingly our staff claims we are still evenly-matched with the mid-table side despite a 4-0 win in the first leg. Those two European wins have given us another million in the balance. We may need to hide the extra transfer and wage budget before the transfer window to keep the DoF from going wild.Ā

Thanks for following along and best of luck in your own saves!

Cheers!

December 2025

Schedule

image.thumb.png.f6ef7bbe8b2391223d12b188eed43ebd.png

1 point gained from our last two Europa fixtures, and only 2 points dropped from our possible 12 points in the league.

UEFA Europa Conference League

image.thumb.png.c9d67ef84ee600db87694c8adcc64d0f.png

Which means we officially made the knockout stage, but this most likely spells the end of our run. It was a good campaign though, but led mostly by our loanees. So we may struggle to replicate this success.

Luxembourg National League

image.thumb.png.7f12ba7e6a348e82ddcbbcff7c4ae7fd.png

Meanwhile in the league we move to 3rd, 7 points back with the best goal differential. Peixoto is also thriving in the league, and once we finish any European ties he will make short work of the domestic competition. Dudelange hasn't hired a new manager yet and is opting for a caretaker since we turned them down. He may win the job though as he is moving them up the table.

Attacking Midfielders (Right) - Inside Forward (Attack)

image.thumb.png.2d501624e41eb6e9056cc9690e8b9af0.png

AMR is our thinnest position I think.Ā

1st is Tin, theĀ GNK Dinamo Zagreb attacker is incredible and will presumably refuse an extension here unless our team quality steps up in a big way. 11 goals in 25 appearances has been awesome though.

2nd is Bieleu the Cameroonian winger. He is injury prone, but has stayed healthy for the most part. He is a leading quality National Division guy with 5 goals and 8 assists in 25 appearances. This position gets a lot of action in our setup. If we miss out on resigning Tin getting a replacement will likely be our first priority rather than starting Bieleu.

3rd is Avdusinovic he was a regular starter for us the last two seasons, but with all the firepower the DoF brought in. He has become surplus to requirements. We are still trying to figure out the best way to get the DoF to focus on selling off these players as the unwanted list seems hit or miss.

4th is Popp, the German youngster fromĀ SV Eichede. He is wanted on loan by a 3rd tier side, so hopefully he can get some playing time with them. So far this season he has averaged a 7.9Ā  with the U18s and a 7.2 with the reserves rating wise. 23 goals in 35 appearances across both teams alongside 13 assists. Really looking forward to seeing how he plays for a senior squad.

First Choice

image.thumb.png.3d290319ac9e1ea4f8affa2b9350e3f9.png

Man I wish we could keep him, but it would likely take the entire transfer budget and then some. He and Peixoto likely will be competing for 'Young player of the season'. They just need to make sure to play enough games in the league to be eligible.

Second Choice

image.thumb.png.89a5d5a8dd25838fcf503a7d39a3778f.png

Ben has been great in the league. 3 goals and 5 assists in 12 appearances with a 7.34 average rating. He hates big games, is injury prone and is mostly capped potential-wise. Nonetheless he is still a passable option in the senior team. Really the biggest issue I dislike with him is his wage as he is outside the first XI, but still top 7 in the squad as far as wage. Debating trying to see if he will agree to a more favorable contract as I think <$30,000 is closer to a fair wage. (Trying to trim the budget in case ever miss out on a champions league spot.)

Board

image.thumb.png.b833ba1563f4120490bea2334e31e265.png

The board have agreed to increasing the junior coaching budget, but I haven't seen the adjective change to indicate that investment. Does anyone know if I have to ask for more staff or does junior coaching just give more in wages to sign youth team staff? Any insight would be helpful.

Next up is a big league fixture month. With 5 league matches including a matchup against top of the table Alisontia away. A win there would be a big 6-pointer and help us reclaim our throne. By the way Alisontia have been super impressive they earned promotion to the top flight in season 1. Came 2nd last season, and now will likely be going down to the wire to displace us on top of the mountain this season. All while only being media predicted 8th.

Anyways that is all for this month. Thanks for following along, and best of luck in your own saves.

Let's go Hostert!

January 2026

Schedule

image.thumb.png.e980513095928dfbf940a80a224c7caa.png

A perfect January. Leads us to a cup busy February. We haven't got our knockout draw yet but we play 3 games against current 6th place side Progres. We may have gotten a little eager in our development list. As now our first team is down to 24 players.Ā

Luxembourg National League

image.thumb.png.b95ba72af69d670d9f3eae2cc5c2ebae.png

We are now in 2nd with 6 points on 3rd, and within 4 points of 1st. Peixoto is still leading the league in form, but we have had some unfortunate departures at the hand of our Director of Football

Transfers

image.thumb.png.58ee285a540331f98d69349f7c653c47.png

The good news first. The development list has worked with tons of guy going out to Luxembourgish sides. Very happy about that. Also we were able to steer the director to young talent to bring in, downside a few won't come in until next season. The few that have are all on a free. Two of our best are below...

Incoming

image.thumb.png.ee1def9b12d29a56173607a7048a2a42.png

A new goalkeeper way better than Kips. Unfortunately Kips was in the middle of a 2 month long playing time promise so hopefully we can split the playing time and keep both guys happy until we can negotiate Kips playing time down.Ā

image.thumb.png.ec2c5c4146bfb31dba303208b1c4b402.png

Next is striker prospect Artur from Ukraine.Ā  Great speed and technique with 4 assists in 3 starts for the first team. Might fit better on the wing then up top. Great role agreement too.Ā

Outgoing

image.thumb.png.74ccdef8a644dc2fbba3a27048a5b16f.png

Dinamo were feed up that we didn't use him as an inverted winger. They recalled him as soon as the window opened. He refused the DoF's attempt to sign him on a permanente.

image.thumb.png.b8e8ed89510830884e32dde394a5e377.png

Then the worse news. Atlanta United came in for a transfer of Micah Hamilton. He was definitely our best player, but the money was too good for the administration to pass up. He signed for 6 times what we were paying him wage wise. So can't say I blame him. Huge blow to the side.

Loanees

image.thumb.png.1ef5fc9c09c45ca31451c7293ab72a5d.png

Currently 52 players at the club and at last count almost 20 are out on loan to different sides. We have taken a step back in our media prediction assessment. At our highest heights we were 70% favorites to win the league. That has drifted down to 40% favorites. Our new look starting eleven is as follows...

First XI

image.thumb.png.5bb457e93f01e21a866f633c1af5f0f3.png

Wish us luck as we try to find our new identity. Thanks for following along, and best of luck in your own saves.

Also I haven't been able to find a nickname for the team online. Other than not of their numerous youth teams.

If anyone knows the club nickname let me know otherwise ill just be calling them,Ā AuslƤnners. I was going for outsiders or underdogs. The closest translations I could find was foreigners/outsiders. Either would work as we have almost a third of the club are foreign talent and youngsters.Ā

So, let's go AuslƤnners!

February 2026

Schedule

image.thumb.png.14ac175dd0089bb37ee1e405ff381ee8.png

We draw Trabzonspor. He somehow managed a 1 all draw at home. We knew it was curtains. Then we got a early second half sent off of an opposition player and finally managed to break through with 15 minutes to go. We are on to the round of 16 and we face the team that we barely lost to in the league phase, FC NordsjƦlland.

Competitions

image.thumb.png.766863de145a087196bb42190c37bd8c.png

We also faceĀ FC Schifflange '95 in the Luxembourg Cup semi-finals. We are also down to 9 games left in the league with us only a point behind. We really hoped we would be out of Europe by now. The thin squad it is no where more evident than the pipeline focus this month...

Attacking Midfielder (Left) - Inside Forward (Attack)

image.thumb.png.72f99267546753f12c163da112aa0cc9.png

After a few departures, it has decimated the coverage at AML.

Our new/old 1st team man is Walther. He has been perfectly passable with good stats, and at 22 he has found himself back in the starting eleven. It most likely won't be for long, but his consistency has eased our anxiety.

2nd is Teah. He has been a third stringer all season and performed so poorly in training. It has caused him to regress in numerous skills, but hopefully he will play into form before too long as we will need his depth.

3rd is Gascons. The stats in the image are of his current loan spell toĀ FC Jeunesse Junglinster in the mid-table of the Division of Honour. His average rating is standard, but he has not been very clinical in those starts.

4th is Balsa, and likewise his stats show for his current loan atĀ FC Blo WƤiss Medernach in the Division of Honour currently sitting in 7th place. His contributions on loan and his average rating there have been much better. Both Balsa and Gascons are playing for their chance to dispose Teah to have a squad role in the senior team next season.

First Choice

image.thumb.png.d312c410ec84b728b05d9cf6e7b7024e.png

Thankfully he is a fan of big matches as the league seems to be going down to the final fixtures. Also the speed as made him able to keep up with better European opposition.

Second Choice

image.thumb.png.b6ca1e2a156ea482f430adad92021967.png

Teah was my homegrown project that I thought would be regularly around the senior team. Unfortunately for the most part he has not popped off and his training has made him even more unpickable when deciding between him and others off the bench. Regardless needs must and he finds himself as our second choice for the rest of the season.

Overview

image.thumb.png.4ec51b259d912ce987e4b06f12af8352.png

As the summary reads. Nordsjaelland are a much better team. Hopefully they will put us out of our misery here and we can be knocked down to only 2 competitions.

7 games this month will stretch our depth to the brink again.

Thanks for following along, best of luck in your own saves.

Cheers!

March 2026

Schedule

image.thumb.png.22ddc4997bc22ee0a0b6ea04dff1ad17.png

We had a tough tie in Europe, but despite a good away game we could not make it any further. This allowed us to treat the remaining competitions with our full focus, and we took it to the domestic clubs.

Competitions

image.thumb.png.7763fc7cc9420420e413d35389bd428b.png

We now have a final date with Differdange to try to reclaim the Luxembourg Cup. Also, we finally had a chance as FC Alisontia Steinsel dropped points and we were able to take a 3 point lead in first place. 4 games to play this coming month. 7 games total left and 6 more games left in the league.

Striker - Advanced Forward (Attack)

image.thumb.png.354e99e2a5a99a2f7f6ef0cbf3ef24e0.png

We have 5 guys considered for our pipeline of striker talent.Ā

1st is Jordi. 30 goals in 41 appearances for the club. Still just 19 years old with plenty of potential. I just hope we can keep him. Now that we know the DoF is willing to sell good talent out from under us.

2nd is the Ram. 28 appearances and 15 goals to his name. He is also 19 years old. The FC Jeunesse Junglinster product was a huge safety blanket for us in our domestic competitions this season. Both guys are likely going to be leading the line for the foreseeable future.

3rd is Herr. Who is absolutely fed up with his lack of playing time. He has put in for transfer. So despite being a decent domestic option (Luxembourg second nationality) he will likely be gone by next season.

4th is Busche. We have unfortunately failed to get him a loan opportunity. Nonetheless he has scored 38 goals in 37 appearances throughout our youth ranks this season. We got to get this man a chance to prove himself against senior talent.

5th is Mamadou. He has been out on loan atĀ FC Syra Mensdorf in the Division of Honour. He has scored 7 goals in 31 appearances. Not the greatest record, and his side is likely to be relegated to the 3rd tier of Luxembourgish football.Ā

First Choice

image.thumb.png.bb5d7ad5ef15b864e98d2c0f4f3eeffc.png

Garcia is regressing a little bit, but he is still way ahead of most of the players in our side. On top of being pretty reasonable with both feet. Still can't believe we were able to get him on a free.Ā

Second Choice

image.thumb.png.3bcf448f9fe3e06dca5896931ffd60a0.png

Ram meanwhile has been slowly improving. He has excellent peripheries. Good training, good composure, tall, either footed. Looking forward to him developing with us.Ā

Data Hub

image.thumb.png.921c7f515408d4c07051194fb48ab576.png

Here is the most recent data hub numbers.Ā We are doing really well across the board. Except perhaps defending due to almost no one staying very long in our half. We may have the league locked up by the end of this month.

Thanks for following along, and best of luck in your own saves.

Let's go AuslƤnners!

April 2026

Champions!

image.thumb.png.0c672866e3983bc9e3a51b5a7c1116b4.png

We did it! This is 3 seasons of being at the top of the pyramid.Ā

Schedule

image.thumb.png.08a67b60e191ab3450405df84f01fc48.png

10 points of 12 this month sealed it. Really strong scoring all season has us within 4-5 goals of the all-time team goals record in a top flight season.

Luxembourg National Division

image.thumb.png.da90b680b37d6fa83f8bbf909c0c5f7f.png

Crazy collapse that Alisontia had this season. It really was their league to win for a majority of the season. We won on 79 points our first year. So it was just a bummer that they faced a team like us. Hopefully they can give us some European help.

Reserve League

image.thumb.png.14c24aa8896345e131e76b3593460170.png

The youth teams are tearing it up too. This the first time the Reserves have had this kind of form, and their points total is insane only dropping 8 points all season so far. Plus, our guys are all over the leaderboards.

U18 League

image.thumb.png.bf5a4991b38dcbe230953320a785de5e.png

Hostert has also won the U18 league for the third time. Crazy too that Busche is the leading scoring in both leagues in the same season.

European Coefficients

image.thumb.png.7f2a78ab70c0e186f2a1f2f76c363dbd.png

We have have made a big jump from 2.75 points last year to 5.37 points this year. That should hopefully get us back to 4 teams in Europe again. We just need those teams to win some money so the prize money can start trickling through the league system.

I love that this season seemed to be in the bag, but was really a wild ride from start to finish.Ā

Next month will be our recap as we try to reset.

New Chairperson

image.thumb.png.69d63a4d62a51154f968dc2a19d6e94e.png

Almost forgot to mention. We had our old chairperson retire, and before he was out the door he was replaced by a local business man, who offered a significant transfer budget. However, since we don't get to manage that we asked for a training facility upgrade instead, and they agreed. So in the next two months we should have both a youth and training facilities upgrade. All while maintaining 6 million or so in the bank balance.

If at all possible I think I want to try to bring in more depth, and maybe help the league as each season the reputation drops, and it eats at the prize money. If we can bring up the reputation perhaps we can get more prize money to the other clubs.

Anyway thanks for following along, and best of luck in your own saves.

Cheers!

May 2026

Treble Winners!

image.thumb.png.200ad37dd3fc12eb2ff8f2cccfe4c092.png

We win the treble and are solidified as the nation's best.

League Stats

image.thumb.png.7398cb58fa73d011359ec603b40b3de8.png

We ended 11 points ahead of 2nd and leading in several categories.

Luxembourg National Division

image.thumb.png.ec11c93349c359729fd5959f2ab5c1bd.png

Peixoto had a great season but is refusing to return next season. None the less he claimed the Young player of the year award. (Didn't play enough to qualify for MVP.)

Youth of the Year

image.thumb.png.be97a0458a0233427db826a77d862f74.png

In fact we cleaned up in the youth award.

Senior Squad

image.thumb.png.a32ed2079a4e6ce7061911718b391562.png

This isn't divided perfectly by squad, but gives you a decent idea of our talent across the club. For the first team Peixoto was magician at creating chances.

Reserve Squad

image.thumb.png.e2ed2eb883e3344d6099e636e6aa850d.png

Off the bench and in the reserves is Ramdedovic. He was impressive in front of goal all season, and gives us good cover up top. Edrees meanwhile has fallen down the pecking order, and will need to fight for a place back in the squad.

Youth Squad

image.thumb.png.50fc476f7d976c221861466c97553c56.png

As for the bottom of the club, Busche, Rosina, Ajdini, and Moller look to have bright futures. Jahn, Dedenon, Djogou are all on the way out though.Ā

Finances

image.thumb.png.69f6a356bc3df64365c61d20be5b3f20.png

We also were given a ton in the finance budget. I am struggling to hide the funds we have accumulated. I can't imagine how the DoF is gonna abuse this much money.

It looks like we are in for a busy window. My best guess is i might have to take responsibility of final approval of any incoming transfers. I don't know if it will kill the vibe of the save though. The only other option I have is to demand continuous improvements to the team facilities left and right.Ā

Thank for following along, best of luck in your saves.

Cheers!

June 2026

ScheduleĀ

image.thumb.png.7f1cd26eb47ad5862c417d19f9ac21e1.png

Looks like we have an easy draw against Newtown in the Champions League. If we win we playĀ SeinƤjoen Jalkapallokerho of Finland orĀ VĆkingur R. of Iceland. Both would be very even draws.

Competitions

image.thumb.png.6ee89da26ae4e6902e61807d9ff080c7.png

The board are expecting us to win everything domestically. This will be interesting now that everyone expects us not to drop form in any competitions. We have been kind of wild and free the last few seasons, but now our success is a demand.

Transfers In

image.thumb.png.a5534b8662d744fe542706dc5bf90e1c.png

I couldn't stop the DoF from spending big this window, but at least I could direct him to the free young players. First was a brand new striker. 16 finishing, I don't think we have ever had someone so clinical.

image.thumb.png.0143ae5dcae5b55940a26dea0d1c9e09.png

Next was a painfully big wage on a new center back. Liking the heading and jumping reach. The young Spaniard is impressive, but I worry we are gonna start to needing Champions League prize money if we bring in too many players on these kinds of wages. (Last season we basically broke even financially. This season we are likely to be a little in the negative unless we can trim the roster/staff)Ā

image.thumb.png.5797a6895e3ae79778cff92ea060eebd.png

The DoF immediately did it again with another center back partner, young Croatian, Ismet. He doesn't jump out physically or technically but those mentals are awesome. We are gonna be absolutely impossible to brake down defensively.

Transfers Out

image.thumb.png.4ed9303d644114c047cc916dfd330e12.png

We then brought in another keeper from Brazil. Which meant we have 3 potential first team quality keepers. I had to try to get one out on loan as someone was gonna be upset with the lack of game time. Therefore as the youngest and the likelihood that with Alisontia he will probably start all season. We are thrilled to get him on a dreamy contract, and with a great team on loan.Ā

image.thumb.png.a47802571bd4df09855dae90cdb34caf.png

Finally we were able to get rid of Martin. We are paying a big amount of his wages to make him go to a Luxembourgish side, but that is okay as he has been languishing in the reserves for a couple seasons.

image.thumb.png.e6c885333c71a18c9b39af1b47111295.png

Same with Dzafo. We are paying ~6k of his wage with Norden, but neither guy would stand for a lateral move initially, and most teams can't afford the wages we give. However both look to immediately slot into the first eleven for their respective 2nd tier sides now.

image.thumb.png.4a3c6a71e7f17423ea3d57503bd87f59.png

Herr goes to 3rd tier Belgian sideĀ FCV Dender EH for $5,000. Absolutely insane wages. Luckily with the new incoming talent he would have been pushed out of the senior team anyways. In the media we'll claim he left to chase the money.

Starting XI

image.thumb.png.58644b8409c835e77dd66c85f71e5d9b.png

Here is the first team as it stands. I have a transfer target list set to urgent of 20-30 young players every window as they are usually the only talent my DoF won't over pay for. This usually keeps the DoF so busy he doesn't do anything too stupid.Ā

Second XI

image.thumb.png.fd9b22ed4e0b40bb043b6d823e1e1bc9.png

The second team is mostly a little older, but some big contracts like Oliveira and Aldin are rough off the bench.Ā

Third XI

image.thumb.png.552921a7e8faa5ccd4ab5add85834f9d.png

Konate is probably gonna be put back on the developmental list as he is surplus right now. Incredibly that means everyone in the senior team is top flight quality. Big progress from the first season where maybe a portion of the starting eleven was top flight quality.

Media Predictions

image.thumb.png.874f4013ac2fae1c27ceeea09b3ee9bc.png

61.9% odds to win the league. Plus, its wild that we have gone from not a soul in the media dream eleven to 6 players and a majority. Mersch is back in the top flight meaning somehow with their tycoon owners we are not the highest team salary as they are spending nearly 2 million a year in wages. We are around 1.5 mil. For context, the rest of the league is 650k to 200k a year.

Director of Football

image.thumb.png.f4676caffd4efda07f0075d507e6bd9b.png

Last but not least is the man who has been a partner and nemesis the whole save. He has failed to be resigned by the club. I will be most like trim him alongside the staff other that didn't get resigned as the board have given some disgusting contracts. (He is making more than I am by the way.) Also this will mean that likely will close out our transfer activity this window. Which we could use a break from to be honest. Never free the loan manager will still help us with the development list, but we will most like see if we can put out an advert for a new DoF so we will likely have new colleague next window.

Thanks for reading along in this big summer update. Best of luck in your own saves!

July 2026

Schedule

image.thumb.png.2ef6934365aea5ad18bc2ee357213698.png

Double wins to start the Champions League campaign! Now we face our first real test in Celtic in the 3rd qualifying round. 8-game month coming up, we will be rotating heavily.

New Director of Football

image.thumb.png.527c401ef6e9f1c87738152ecbe7ee41.png

So my DoF manipulation lasted maybe a week before a new director was in and he was transfer hungry. He sold three big names and loaned out 5 others while bringing in a new midfielder. He also arranged 3 young transfers to come in during the winter window. I don't know what to expect from them, but he really has lit a fire under us.

Transfers In

image.thumb.png.406036a514985f3d16fad021d5b4ea20.png

Brought in on a free fromĀ FK Dečić Tuzi from Montenegro's First League. He was the perfect transfer as he will slot into the second team especially since the defensive midfield position was depleted by the outgoings.

Transfer Out

image.thumb.png.7433c2ddd9beef059449f4955b781d32.png

First outgoing of the new DoF's reign of terror was our team's eldest, Aldin, who went to big spenders Marisca in our league for $10,000.

image.thumb.png.050f488a1d6f5262372da0393779714e.png

Then Dudelange went professional becoming the 3rd professional side in the country. They decided to invest in youth and snagged our Luxembourgish center back Agost. I wish they would have let me negotiate as I think they over paid as they gave us $43,500 for him. I wasn't thrilled to let him go, but when it is to a domestic team its not too painful. Hope he plays well for them.

image.thumb.png.29097025c2a108daa66ca13405a7bb23.png

Then we were thinking... well thank goodness we still have Konate... and bam! He gone to Dudelange as well for $36,000. We are getting picked over by the teams below us, but that is again no problem as we almost had 60 players at the club last season. Now we are just below 50 players.

Loans Out

image.thumb.png.4837abb79269fe64331c68d8c1aa722e.png

On top of that our director was able to secure quite a few loans on top of us getting to extend a couple. Which brings us to 13 players loaned out for the season. Also Alliance had become our affiliate at the winter window last season. Which has made it easier to send guys out especially since they promoted to the 2nd division.Ā

Finances

image.thumb.png.54cfe8db78b10c2445260719822cb408.png

I'm trying to hid this money, but I'm not doing a good job. I think I have to just go nuts with the board requests is my only hope of preventing salary over-inflation.

Competition Reputation

image.thumb.png.d0c68960d52a5cb27f5dc1d26034aa7a.png

Also we started to finally move up in competition reputation so I wanted to give you some mile marks for how the 3 tiers of Luxembourgish football are growing. Our top division is almost League 2 quality. The Division of Honour is somewhere between the Vanarama leagues and just below the French National 2. Meanwhile the First Division is hanging around the regional premier divisions of England. I think there are just a few amatuer sides hanging around the bottom of the First Division. Most teams in the top 3 tiers of Luxembourg are semi-professional.

Summary

image.thumb.png.3d668fe699c0138e5fc68dc85395fb24.png

The summary is saying that Celtic are vastly better then us and I don't doubt it. They also look like they are gonna possession us to death. We are officially in a group stage no matter what though. If we lose the rest of the way we will be in the conference league again. So at a minimum we should have a decent TV money paycheck coming from the group stage.

Thanks for following along. Look forward to seeing where we stand at the end of this month. Best of luck in your own saves.

August 2026

Schedule

image.thumb.png.8ebe057c1f55379d711dc7d6bd6765c1.png

Celtic took it easy on us in the first home league and then we squeezed by them in the away leg. Thus we are either in the Europa League or Champions League, but first we had to get by Hapoel. Who were ready and shut us down in the home leg despite a good XG showing.

Competitions

image.thumb.png.4cb065b3f4400b8ebaebf9f7395e422d.png

So we got bumped down to the Europa League - League Phase. Which saw us win 9 million in prize money. Incredible! Unfortunately it could not prevent our latest transfer tragedy.

Transfers

image.thumb.png.57feadeca1546c461e1ac02fcfef176b.png

We were able to stifle the DoF for the remainder of the window by suggesting unachievable guys and resigning players, but Athletico Madrid came in with a $350,000 offer for Jose Luis. Just like that accepted and gone on deadline day. Thankfully they allowed us to keep him on loan for the remainder of the season.

Finances

image.thumb.png.750031f999bf3cd7b4d625925b5fe669.png

That means we are definitely good for the next several seasons financially if we miss out on Champions League football. However, we are 3 qualification coefficient places from going up to better European places to start. Any trickle down money would be awesome domestically so hopefully we can steal a few draws in the league phase. (Interestingly we are still dealing with bad European results from the previous 5 seasons so we currently only have 3 teams in Europe in the bare minimum positions.)

Goalkeepers

image.thumb.png.55fd93d0140466aa1d8076b2746a69a5.png

I wanted to switch up how I was doing this section. Our first choice is Henke, Second is Jorge, and Third is Kips. Jorge was given Cup keeper role alongside Kips. So I ended up sending him out on loan as Kips just didn't seem to get interest. Plus, I didn't want one to get upset. Which meant Edrees was back as our third choice until season's end. Omar meanwhile is still on loan withĀ FC Stengefort in the 4th tier of Luxembourg which is unplayable. I don't know how it works exactly, but he is getting playing time so unless he regresses or complains, I will leave him there. Another interesting item of note is that Henke and Jorge are seemingly the two best keepers in the Division. There is one other team that has a 2.5 star guy too, but attribute wise he is a step behind more on par with Kips.

Oliver Henke

image.thumb.png.f400f2e5a8f7a012017039e7e613e1f3.png

I'm really hoping he can become home grown for us in the next few seasons. We are just now starting to have 21 players we can have active in Europe. I would love to get that closer to the full 25 man squad possible.

Overview

image.thumb.png.ab4e58774dceff825c94dfb07200ccde.png

We just finished our training facility upgrade from last season, and were shot down on a youth recruitment upgrade. Hopefully we have better luck with youth facilities or another training facility upgrade request. We are selling out maybe 1/3 of our stadium regularly so maybe an upgrade request there could help as well.Ā

Thanks for following along. Best of luck in your own saves.

Super Cup Win

image.thumb.png.e21ce18a0a3990b128b243723c0f96c7.png

A convincing win nets us a third domestic Super Cup. Our depth has really shone through this month as we had 8 games and multiple international fixtures that stole our star players away. Plus at times we had as many as 8 players injured.

Schedule

image.thumb.png.dc1d6299391b94271e77f5ca07cb89b3.png

Nonetheless we played well. Next month is very similar we have a decent break to start the month, but soon it will test us again. Thankfully this year we are in a better position in the league already (2nd place with a game in hand) as well as 11th in the Europa League on 4 points.Ā

Competitions

image.thumb.png.9ef937343aaeae6689c158cb0f0f2f50.png

Amazingly despite having 6 strikers we have often been down to 2 this last month. Thankfully Ram and Jordi have been holding it down.

Rightbacks

image.thumb.png.06f5fed2a3a64366d2d57341b4df54ac.png

We have 4 players in my option that make up our rightback pipeline. Starting is Noor, Second is Oliveira, Third is Almeida, and Fourth is Federspiel.

Almeida is with Alliance our affiliate in the 2nd division. They are predicted to finish 17th, still being relegated, right now he is their starting right back and currently has them safely in 15th.

Federspiel is withĀ FC Jeunesse Canach in the First Division South. (3rd Tier Luxembourg) He has been playing at that level for the last 3 seasons, and despite their media prediction of 6th place finish they have had a rough start and find themselves in 13th. He is currently listed as their key player and best passer. He also is part of the media dream eleven at that level.

Oliveira is playing incredibly assisting everything, and is undoubtedly deserving of his inflated salary.

Ahmad Irfan Mohd Noor

image.thumb.png.3d7d4c686ef6b252fddedc29b86630e8.png

Noor meanwhile is super consistent. He is responsible for everything on that right side and his sprints per 90 would be the highest in the league if I could spare him there, but it is even more impressive that he is sustaining that work rate against European talent.

Injury Crisis

image.thumb.png.1a90e8f51eb71008a811ef0e233906b1.png

Like I said we still have 7 injuries and 4 working their way back to health. As well as 19 more that are on the watch list for risk assessment. That means the 3rd stringers are likely going to start a game somewhere this month, not just coming off the bench as they have. (They are bottom of the league table in quality though as a unit.)

Furthermore with the wins in Europe and the Super Cup we now have 16 million in the bank balance. We have been denied stadium upgrades. So we are gonna have to start getting creative. I think we may go the way of a building-a-nation save a little. Having the DoF focus on more and more young talent that we can then loan out so that way it invests our money in talent that grows rather than talent that regresses.

Either that or we can stop fighting the AI director just let him off his lease and allow him to sign every high rep monstrosity he can find. (This may be what I do in the last two seasons of this save prior to porting it over to FM25 if possible. (In FM25 I would likely then attempt to take another side and overtake this Luxembourgish PSG we built.)

Thanks for following along. Best of luck in your own saves!

October 2026

Schedule

image.thumb.png.6ecf2f050284bf67f8b78166591d65b8.png

Fairly good form as the injury crisis is mostly over. Only lost came in Europe against Atalanta. Which we were always gonna lose.Ā

Competitions

image.thumb.png.d28ec3f074849540898d1771f31d0cd4.png

A big comeback in the second leg of the cup has us into the next round against Mondercange.

Centerbacks

image.thumb.png.09fa0083a2ca8c9d7c74a0023dcc6053.png

The centerback pipeline is massive. Miguel is the main man. He has been impenetrable in the back. Lufi meanwhile has a ton of versatility, and has been having to cover defensive midfield for the bulk of the season, and I hope he and Miguel can grow to be a good partnership.

Rogerio has been out for two months and has been reinjured multiple times in training. So, hopefully we can play him into some more consistent form. Meddour has been a faithful servant to the club, and continued to be an incredible clearance specialist being one of the leaders in the league.

Sims is atĀ Young Boys Diekirch in the second division. He is in the starting 11, but not thriving really as the 15th place hopefuls are stuck at the bottom of the table. Ljubisa and Guilherme are the third stringers. Both are a step below only "decent" top flight players. I'm worried that they won't get enough playing time this season and lose out on some crucial growth years.Ā

Miguel Mas

image.thumb.png.aace881e5eccd52504984a66cb20744f.png

The Spanish giant. "Mas" Mas is an aerial monster. Winning 7.25 headers per 90 mins. He is a stable fixture that makes me feel really certain in our defensive future.Ā

Ismet Lufi

image.thumb.png.8c33427004c10e0252ce597dbf5bf214.png

Lufi is a little more methodical and mental. The teamwork and the work rate. He is the engine in tandem with the "Wall of Mas". I hope both can be a home grown figures in our team for a few seasons to come.Ā

Overview

image.thumb.png.a28f11257793f538d917232495a3690a.png

We are up to 16 million in the balance as well as leading the league. 5 games in the league this month will have us up to nearly the half way mark of the league season. Can we start to pull ahead and give our third teamers a chance to get game time?

Not a ton of updates this month, but thanks for following along. Best of luck to all.

Cheers!Ā

November 2026Ā

Schedule

image.thumb.png.1c27084f90a5d895bcf358bf504ac52e.png

Mixed results this month. A perplexing loss against lower table US Sandweiler right after a great win again Rijeka in Europe. We experienced a ton of suspensions from yellow cards, and had 8 players out for the St. Gallen's game.

Competitions

image.thumb.png.72d1dfb94b65c0ec5fa6161a907e273a.png

3 more Europa games, and we probably need 3 more points at least to make the knockouts. Meanwhile in the league we are tied for first on points, and we need to stay in good form if we want the ability to rotate across all our fixtures.

Leftbacks

image.thumb.png.4bd340fa016cdc95b230f98426177413.png

The three senior teamers are (in priority order) Luis, Schmit, and Muller.

Luis is a monster at this level and he is out and out one of the best on the team. He will get every appearance he can stand.

Schmit tends to be more regularly played despite being now the same CA as Muller. Schmit is just more versality, so he finds himself off the bench much more.

Muller has been dropping in potential left and right. I think he was originally 3.5 stars of PA. I think we need to get him back out on loan to recapture some of that lost potential.

Van de Maele is the best of the rest. He is back on loan at FC Alliance in the 2nd division. He is a "clear cut chance" creation magician on the left. I hope he can continue to help them as the relegation candidates are now up to 10th in the Division of Honour.

Matos is really behind in current ability. I think he will struggle to catch up to the pack. So he might be a causality to the transfer market upon arriving back from loan in the summer. Maybe we selective choose a up and coming Luxembourgish side to gift him too.Ā

Jose Luis

image.thumb.png.e1e278056abd343f27f30385c15a97ea.png

Luis is unfortunately in his last season with the club before going off to Atletico. We are going to need to put some leftbacks in the transfer target list as we need someone to fill his very impactful shoes soon.Ā

Medical Center

image.thumb.png.12b7038fda3b2198e5ded92c0ff908e7.png

We are back going through another injury crisis. On top of that we are hitting a point in the season where the yellow cards are starting to pile up. We have 7 games this coming month and it is our last chance to see how the third teamers are playing prior to the winter roster shakeup. Most likely any third teamers not essential will be on the dev list in the winter and off the more playing time in a new destination.

Thanks for following along and best of luck in your own saves.

December 2026

Schedule

image.thumb.png.3ad36e074d1ca72f17193d07c9e56622.png

Great month with even more games then we accounted for, 9 in all.Ā  A magical draw against Bilbao. Now we have two games left in the league phase of Europe, but all the league wins have given us a 4 point lead in the National Division.Ā

Luxembourg National Division

image.thumb.png.8b6f879d303caa0683771ae535c99e6d.png

We are officially past the halfway mark, and the second XI have really done well. The league is ours to lose and with our track record. Once we are out of Europe, I think we will walk the league. Just worried about the development of some of the third teamers, and if we can afford to spare them with our injury woes.

Defensive Midfielders

image.thumb.png.3f8579115d8e52907b57dc6a50376dea.png

We have four guys that are the base of our defensive midfielder pipeline. Pablo is the best of the bunch, but we have a ton, ton, ton of midfield potential.

Pablo has put away 12 goals on just 9.6 XG so far this season.

Vlaovic has also been ever present off the bench. Adding value in every area. He is top 5 in the league in open play key passes per 90 minutes. He has been stalwart for us, but many of our players have had news items of interest in them from other clubs, him included. So I hope we can hang on to this great depth we have built.Ā

Leal is played a few games, but most likely we be out on loan to end the season, as he hasn't impressed in his opportunities.Ā

Rosina is the key player forĀ FC Noertzange HF in the third division of Luxembourg. They are a championship bound team currently in 1st. He has not been setting the league on fire there, but it has been a good move for him.

Pablo

image.thumb.png.aa1f569346dfec58615eff5dde69b194.png

For not having the consistency badge, he is playing very well. He is not a physical guy though. He really is an anchor that excels in being able to spray the ball out from the back.Ā

UEFA Europa League

image.thumb.png.d34aa43ecfa7b41e2bd063f14589c0b8.png

We have two more Europa games. A win and we are in to the next round for sure. However, I don't know if we can steal points off of either team though so. We also have seen a lot of renewed interest in our players. We amped our requested value for sales to 200% of value to deter interest, but I worry the DoF could start accepting offers left and right. Especially with the tycoon owners ofĀ FC Marisca Mersch sitting in the relegation spots ready to buy and with deep pockets to snare our DoF. Should be an exciting window...

Thanks for following along and best of luck in your own saves.

January 2027

Schedule

image.thumb.png.6e456987260778064937e0309bb9c868.png

A wild month with 10 players incoming. 2 permanent outgoing and 10 loans out as well. 7 dropped points in the league, and a tough loss against LOSC in the Europa League.Ā

Competitions

image.thumb.png.af626790622ca4a932ea584bd031ffe3.png

We actually didn't need a win to progress in Europe but we got one against Zvexda who ended up finishing right above us in the League Phase. Meanwhile we are in to the quarter finals of the Luxembourg Cup.Ā

Ā

Transfers

image.thumb.png.48565d11b361a7256a4a3052a6adec76.png

We were able to get 7 of our 15 transfer targets we set up with the DoF (these players mostly consisted of young free transfers with potential, just highlighting the best two today). Meanwhile the DoF brought in only 3 players, 2 were a miss. Nonetheless the contracts really exploded this offseason. With the team wage bill going from 1.6 mil annually to 2 mil annually. I don't know how else to get the wage bill back into anything close to our league-mates. I think we are just going to have to accept the we are the biggest fish now, and we have to stop trying to find the Moneyball-style buys. (I might start trying to overpay for domestic talent. Perhaps injecting some cash into the Luxembourgish pyramid.)

Transfers In

image.thumb.png.16a180fafa75f4e4dfb62043b0aba8c4.png

The best of the guys coming in was this Angolan defender. He came in on an incredible contract, and claimed the hot prospect title immediately. Unfortunately the all new foreign imports were brutal registering for our Europa squad which brough it to maybe 19 players that can dress for games and with the occasional 2-3 players out a game. It is really a thin bench.Ā

image.thumb.png.595d93cd3f0463b99d15f131a591992a.png

With some of the outgoings we got a little worried towards the second half of the window and managed to immediate priority target this guy. He looked like an incredible Tanzanian find, but we did have to pay team highest earner money. He is two-footed, but even as Ball-playing defender I don't know if he will make the most of that skillset.

Transfers Out

image.thumb.png.0cb5a27540ec4ccfcabd3a663dfdcdb2.png

Then we got picked apart a bit by the teams below. One such player was Sinner who was snagged by Dudelange. (Bought for $12,250 sold for $3,500. These dealings do not fill me with confidence.) He will not be starring for them, but actually leaves to back up our other former player Konate. Dudelange were a predicted 3rd place finish, but find themselves in 15th.

image.thumb.png.42a82bae940abf69711c33768b389467.png

Then we lost Bieleu to Luxembourg City who are seeking to get back into the top flight. They sit in 8th in the second tier and he comes in as a key player. Shockingly the DoF negotiated us paying 20K a year in salary for the next year and a half. Honestly a big net loss considering the transfer fee and wage. Especially as we could have probably sold him for 10k with no wage contribution to a team outside of Luxembourg. Oh well this is what we were considering just a few paragraphs ago in terms of Luxembourg friendly deals.

Ā

Loans Out

image.thumb.png.29b699f6d2c55c656023e94b3bfa1bd0.png

Upside is almost everyone was loaned out who looked to be starting to become unhappy with our big senior squad including a young Argentinian who came in 4 days before deadline day. I think this moves our total loans out to 23 players. We just are struggling to loan these players out for any kind of wage contribution as our wages are so inflated compared to what the league below are able to budget for. (I really am fighting this internal battle of worrying the DoF will over commit me financially or other days just giving away money.) The best part is 4 players have deals through 2028 which hopefully keeps them away from hungry clubs looking to plunder our youth setup.

Ā

Overview

image.thumb.png.c26718c80978bc10c3f6c31eedcb66fe.png

Lastly, we are doing well with the board. We don't know our Europa League matchup yet but we will give it our best shot in the knockouts. Otherwise this is the new look starting XI. Henke had a offer come in from Napoli, but it was for 10k which was way below his valuation of 80k so we were able to talk him down, but it is an optimistic sign getting offers from teams in the top 5 leagues.

Team Goals... try to get the board to spend some of this money on infrastructure. Give as many guys as we can long contracts to hopefully inflate their values in case teams come knocking in the summer. As well as identify 5-7 guys we can put on the transfer list next window to lower our budget a little. Hopefully getting back under 50 players contracted with the club.Ā

We have all national division talent in the senior team, but interestingly most of our loanees are going to 2nd tier sides in the Division of Honour. So tough to tell if our players really are as good as we think or maybe they just need to have game experience to justify that quality estimation. Perhaps we are lucking out and have had teams loaning our guys in that become some of the better players on their squads. Hard to judge. Nevertheless with 13 of the 2nd division teams represented by our youth players on loan. I look forward to seeing who will lead their side to a promotion to the top flight.Ā

Also, in FM25 I am really look forward to taking one of these yo-yo National/Division of Honour teams and trying to dethrone this juggernaut we have made in US Hostert.

Thanks for following along and best of luck in your own saves.

February 2027

Schedule

image.thumb.png.affeae60dda8f89526afad9b8c0c7af5.png

A nearly perfect month despite a wild time which included a major player being stolen out from under us. It began well with two 5 goal performances then a shocking 3-2 home win against Besiktas. We figured this might actually end with us going through to the next round in Europe. Then we had a number of injuries to the first team and the Besiktas away leg went to an extra time loss that just shattered our fitness.Ā

Competitions

image.thumb.png.f43e12f57eda6f5dff329aa3b4bbc06d.png

Thankfully we were able to progress to the Semis and maintain a 8 point lead in the league with 9 games to go. Now that we are out of Europe we should be able to manage the fixtures upcoming.

Jordi Garcia

image.thumb.png.292ce4c8a68a918d0b5fa796225e5bc7.png

The outgoing was heart breaking as Casa Pia came in for Jordi and despite shooting down some initial bids the player and DoF took matters into their own hands. They agreed to a 230K exit to the Portuguese Premier League side. Where he has not even played a single minute. (That always sucks to watch a key player move on to be a emergency backup essentially somewhere else.) He was a free transfer though so. Not a bad deal...

Board Rejections

image.thumb.png.cfc6fe079b51378987f039d6bdab9f6f.png

Meanwhile the board has been shuting down all requests and funny enough the other 4 rejections just fell off this page prior to me getting a screen shot. I know it is not an intentional part of the game, but in my head-canon the board is submitting fake statements like, "...see the manager is lying, we approve 50% of all board requests." LOL!

Central Midfielders

image.thumb.png.b138a35a24b8b3bbaba8deebe4636fb5.png

That brings us to where the Mezzala - Center Midfielder depth stands. Pablo has had to cover CM a lot since the transfer window, but a new signing in Jose Afonso has played really well, and therefore has got the starters. With the natural fitness and stamina his best ability has been availability.

First names off the bench are Emili and Van de Corput, but both have been the two most heavily injured players on the team.

Luckily Schmidtka has been available and thus has already received 36 appearances this season. With 22 clear cut chances created and 5 assists and 10 goals.

Omary is the last of the midfielders likely to see playing time in the near future and he immediately went out on loan toĀ FC Alliance, our affiliate, after we realized that the DoF signed our Tazmanian star boy without telling us he promised him a compatriot signing. He is getting minutes which is the important thing in the division below so hopefully we get a good look at what he can be before coming back to us next season.Ā

JosƩ Afonso

image.thumb.png.d7183dcc9480e3a7203ef7c7290a9417.png

Brazilian with professionalism is a welcome signing every time. He is missing the ability to score going forward and mark going back. However he does have a lot of intangibles we like from the work rate to the first touch, if we can raise the passing I think we can be happy with this signing long term.

BarnabƔs JƔnos Schmidtka

image.thumb.png.3360b62a8a19272e7711155414788397.png

Barnabas is a lot of fun to watch not only that he is really low maintainance. Which when you aren't control big parts of the back room stuff a no-ego guy is really nice. Most of all that passing is pin point every highlight. Making him a huge anticipatory watch whenever he is on the ball.

Medical Center

image.thumb.png.323f54b2647159c6275ae60a73da4f0c.png

When I said the midfield had injury concerns I meant it. 2/3 of the year out for Emili and over half the year and counting out for Maurizio. So we have lead the league in injuries by far. I haven't ever had the ability/competence to do the general training schedule fully, but these injury crises might force my hand.Ā

Thankfully we only have 4 games next month. I hope to bring all the players back up to game shape.Ā

Thanks for following along and best of luck in your own saves!

Cheers!

March 2027

Schedule

image.thumb.png.aaca86cfef1af6fda6dc3bb2b9c7e86e.png

A good first leg against Titus Petange in the Cup was the biggest standout. The club has also gone from 19 players to just 4 players under risk assessment in the medical center which is really good to see to. A few dropped points away in the league, but we still find ourselves up 5 points with 6 games to go.Ā

Luxembourg National Division

image.thumb.png.8195a9cd44d390a9ac7f6e90b9a2b757.png

We have a lock on the top rated players in the league. Also an incredible goal tally with a 60 goal differential.Ā

Attacking Midfielder Right (AMR)

image.thumb.png.2e4a7d5618112462dfedd848b1c28b20.png

This month we are looking over our AMR options.

First is Nascimento who is the best goal creator we have ever had bar none.Ā  35 goal contributions in 36 starts in all competitions.

Onyshchenko the Ukrainian is cut of a similar cloth. He has chance creating quality, and is currently top 3 in assists in the National Division.

Third is Popp who is currently out on loan toĀ FC Atert Bissen in the Division of Honour. He was getting starting gametime but suffered a major hip injury that will have him out for the rest of the season. (We could bring him home, but he has a loan secured through 2028 so I don't know if I want to cancel it yet.)

Our last inside forward utility man is Walther who has been a 4-year squad player for the club. He is 9 games away from 100 appearances for the club in the league. He is so versatile. Which makes it really hard to let him go out on transfer or loan despite being a bottom of the National Division in quality most likely.

Overall we are torn between those last two to round out the senior squad.

Wilian Nascimento

image.thumb.png.72594da8dfddde34be40790fc314bc45.png

Wilian has been interesting. He is really talented and been a good servant since he was brought in. Unfortunately we are starting to receive interest in him from other clubs. Luckily they have been very minimal fees offered. However, we will have to fend off bigger fish over the next year, and this style save makes these great players always at risk of being sold out from under you.

Nation Club Coefficients

image.thumb.png.87c2d8af7a11063f49896344b4d9c7e6.png

On the positives domestically we smote our last European coefficient record of 5.375 points last season with a heady height of 6.333 points this season. Which will move us further up the qualification place table. We wont feel that good form for 3 more seasons, but I think in 3 seasons we will likely see another Luxembourgish team making a Europa Conference League Phase. That will be the day.

We have also extended maybe 8 contracts, but this is a big renewal season upcoming. As 38 players have their contracts expiring after next season.

Thanks for following along and best of luck in your own saves.

Let's go AuslƤnners!

April 2027

Schedule

image.thumb.png.31f03b198569a7bcfcb8fd75d555e02b.png

A month of trails despite decent form. The month started with what we assumed was our goalkeeper Henke accepting we weren't selling him. He got injured for most of March, and seemed to drop it. Then as soon as he was back in training he rang up the media and got some other players upset about it, due to him now being influential. We still had good dynamics after a magically 7-0 win, and thought nothing of it, but he just had a mare of a second leg against Titus in the Semis and we will be missing out on a finals appearance in the domestic cup.

Luxembourg Cup Semis Loss

image.thumb.png.e89410264623e8421ed5ea7fe0e61df6.png

Sueliton played well with 8 key passes and we dominated xG. Plus, I thought 3 away goals is plenty.

image.thumb.png.04884b225ab747d6ed1f759912076bec.png

Nope 3 goals in the first half and Henke looked awful. Nascimento tried to bring the game back, but it was too little too late. You just have to take one look at the xG to realize we did not play well as 4 of the 5 shots on target were scored against us. This means we will be missing out on nearly 140k in prize money. Not a huge loss, but the board were not thrilled.

Luxembourg National Division

image.thumb.png.8d51b42b49496b3881c34ed8534d7f3c.png

This leaves the last bastion of competition. The league, and we are in the driver seat with two games to go. So far we have won the league on anywhere from 79 to 90 points so overall this isn't a bad showing. Like always I think a few of our guys are not able to make the player of the year race because they have not played in at least 65% of league games. We do look poised to have a couple players in contention for Youth of the Year as always.

Division of Honour

image.thumb.png.da3f625e5f2647f9c0c1863824779a6f.png

As for the league below. The finals days are getting interesting as the top 3 all still have a shot at the title. Our affiliate missed out on the playoffs, but have looked good. Our former player Lucas Martin looks to be getting relegated to the 3rd division with Bettembourg, and a two of our guys are on loan at Schengen in 18th and will likely be relegated. Meanwhile none of our loanees are in the top 5 teams looking to try to promote to the top flight. Meaning either two things. Our players are not as good as we though, or the Luxembourg pyramid is getting better and even our reserves are beginning to struggle against 2nd tier competition.

Attacking Midfielder Left (AML)

image.thumb.png.e6b3d003dc9846adb441149ad583ed8e.png

As for left attacking midfielder depth we have 5. I mistakenly did not select Marc Pace as well.

Sueliton is our number 11. He has had 11 assists and 4 goals in his 15 starts and a better average rating than anyone.

Second is a three way tie between Gascons, Walther, and Pace. Walther is the most consistent and with his versality he can always cover, but Gascons and Pace have the potential.

Gascons is withĀ CS Fola Esch-Alzette in the Division of Honour, and is playing alright, but doesn't make us feel secure in playing him 25-30 appearances in the top flight next season.

Pace meanwhile is with Alliance Aischdall our affiliate in the league below. He is playing well, but is not as clinical as he has higher xG and xA then he has recorded stats.

So all in all I think this may be one of the first areas to address next transfer window. Meaning most likely Balsa would find himself as surplus if he isn't already and on his way to a 3rd tier side in need of his talents.

Sueliton

image.thumb.png.9ae95c9d4980e4d11a65e297d7de9b73.png

You cannot get the ball off this man. A technical dribbler who can play with either foot and has loads of flair. He spends a little too much time on the ball someĀ highlights, but the assists speak for themselves. He was a really great winter acquisition, especially once we were thinner up top.

Board and Supporter Grades

image.thumb.png.514b04ec42a80890a54c9c8a0a025210.png

The board and supporters both dropped our grades from B+ to B in their managerial grades, but we are still secure. I have a slight worry that the supporters have a moderate influence on the board and are so blaise about our squad and transfer work. Then again, I guess that mimics really life and supporters are hardly complimentary of players.

Surprisingly we haven't switched tactics except in easy wins, and everyone is still fine with that.Ā

Two games to go and a likely new trophy to put in the trophy case. Thanks for following along, and best of luck in your own saves.Ā Ā

Cheers!
