Carambau
Baxters Basque Ball Season 2023/24 The Team The team structure looks promising. Simon, Vivian, Sancet, Inaki and Nico Williams are the best of the bunch. The Tactic Employing a simple Gegenpress. The Transfers We sold 2 important players in Nico Williams and Vivian. Money talks. We brought in 2 young talents. Djalo is a winger who can play in the 1st team right away while Vicuna is a central midfielder for our reserve team. . The Season Finish We end up finishing 2nd. A great achievement considering we lost 2 key players in the Winter transfer window. In the Copa del Rey though we went out in the 2nd round. The Team Stats Sancet was la Liga´s player of the Year. New signing Djalo also had some respectable performances. Sancet dominates our player stats. The Youth The intake was fantastic. Especially Burgos is shining bright. Carambau
Baxters Basque Ball Season 2024/25 The Team New signing Bautista should ease the burden of our lone striker Villalibre in the many games to come this season. The Tactic Still employing a simple Gegenpress. The Transfers David Garcia bolsters our central defense, Moncayola adds options in midfield, Bautista is a backup striker and Rodrigues provides left back cover. . The Season Finish We finished in 5th position this time, securing Champions League Football again. We managed a nice win vs Champions Barcelona on the way. In the Copa del Rey we lost in the quarter final vs Sevilla. In the Champions League, we qualified from the League Phase, defeated Nice in the playoffs and then fell to Arsenal in the R16. The 2nd leg was a disaster for us. The Team Stats Sancet was not as outstanding as last year, but still one of our best players, alongside Muniain, Williams, Nunez, Lekue and Villalibre. We will promote some youngsters next season. Villalibre was on target. The Youth A wonderful intake again. Martinez looks very promising. Carambau
Baxters Basque Ball Season 2025/26 The Team A new keeper. But he should still be good enough for us. The Tactic Still employing a simple Gegenpress. The Transfers Unai Simon wanted a new challenge and left for Brighton after his contract ran out. So we brought in Kepa on a free and Ezkieta as his new backup. From our youth we promoted central midfielders Ellakuria and Alboniga. Plus wingers Quevedo and Olabarrieta and striker Adrian Perez. A lot of players were loaned out. . The Season Finish We finished in 4th position this time, securing Champions League Football again. In the Copa del Rey we made it to the final this time. But unfortunately Real Madrid really gave us a beating there. Still a respectable effort. In the Champions League, we managed to qualify from the League Phase, only just missing out on direct qualification for the R16. And so in the playoffs Atleti beat us. The Team Stats Kepa turned out as a great signing for us. David Garcias 12 goals as a central defender are impressive though, making him our top goalscorer. Most of these goals came from corners of course. Midfielder Alboniga stood our from the youngsters with an impressive 7.12 average rating. He could became a really good player. Alboniga was the Young Player of the season. The Youth Not as good as the last 2 times but still very good. Gurrutxaga already is faster than most of our first teamers. Carambau
I really don´t like that the spanish summer transfer phase in summer is splitted in two. Thats confusing for reporting transfers in career updates like this. Edited April 4 by Carambau
warlock
3 hours ago, Carambau said: Thats confusing for reporting transfers It is, but it applies to most of the European leagues. The problem is the game recording when the transfer was confirmed rather than when players actually join the club. This is bothering me for quite some time now though and it just somehow hinders the flow when reporting updates. In Germany and Austria this has not been a problem iirc. It´s nothing dead serious but still...
Carambau
Baxters Basque Ball Season 2026/27 The Team Our defence got stronger. The Tactic Still employing a simple Gegenpress. The Transfers Alvaro Fernandez is our new backup keeper. Jon Martin tightens our defense, Aimar is a technically gifted winger and Karrikaburu gives us more options in attack. In the Winter Transfer Window, we signed another winger in Ivan Martin. Williams´s departure is a blow but we will cope. . The Season Finish We finished in 3rd position this time, securing Champions League Football again. We concentrated strictly on the league, which came at a cost which you can see below. In the Copa del Rey we went straight out in the 3rd round against 2nd division Taragona. A disgraceful result. In the Champions League, we went out in the group stage after only winning one game in the League Phase. The Team Stats New signing Aimar managed double digits in goals & assists, as did Djalo. Those, alongside with Sancet were the our best players this season. Ok, let´s add Villalibre to it with his 19 goals. The Youth I love the intakes! Castro looks like at world beater at 16.
Carambau
Baxters Basque Ball Season 2027/28 The Team Not too many changes this season. Youngster Herrera and especially our Youth Academy products Perez and Castro will get their chances though. The Tactic Still employing a simple Gegenpress. The Transfers Aguirregabiria should be a backup RB, Herrera can play various positions in defense and Alvarez will be the new GK backup. But definitely no first team players. A lot of players were loaned out. And Karrikaburu was sold in the Winter Transfer Window. . The Season Finish We finished in 4th position this time, securing Champions League Football again. In the Copa del Rey we once more went out early, in the 3rd round against 2nd division Albacete after a penalty shootout. In the Champions League, we survived the League Phase and made it to the R16 where we lost against Inter. We drew 1-1 at home and lost 0-1 after giving them a big fight at San Siro. The Team Stats The Youngsters did great! Perez managed double figures in his first full season! 16 year old Castro scored 3 and assisted 2 goals in 10 games! Alboniga declined a bit compared to the last season though. Sancet once more was our Player of the Season. Perez was the Young Player of the season. The Youth A wonderful intake again. Dominguez looks the best of the crop. Our U19 team made it to the semi finals in the UEFA Youth League! Edited April 9 by Carambau
Carambau
Baxters Basque Ball Season 2028/29 The Team We are slowly but steadily introducing the youngsters. The Tactic Still employing a simple Gegenpress. The Transfers Bilbao gets loaned out right away and Hugo is a veteran. Most notable is Garcia leaving but he was old anyway. . The Season Finish We finished in 5th position this time, so its only Europa League Football next season. In the Copa del Rey we once more went out early, in the quarters against lower league Alcorcon. In the Champions League, we survived the League Phase and made it to the R16 where we again lost against Inter. The Team Stats Not a great season at all. The Youth The intakes continue to impress. Carambau
Baxters Basque Ball Season 2029/30 Well... what can I say? After a modest start to the season we lost 1-9 at Nou Camp and it was all downhill from there in the league. Good bye, it was nice. But then again, not too nice. **** this. I have already moved on. warlock
Seems a bit harsh - not a bad start until the Barcelona game and plenty of time to turn things around. But boards will be board-like. Have you gone to Jerusalem?

Yes, there will be a new save soon 5 minutes ago, Swaban said: Its time to manage Real Sociedad & become the dominant force in Basque football, making sure to sign as many promising Basque talents as possible to keep them away from Athletic Bilbao I had a San Sebastian save back in FM13 or FM14 and it was great fun.
