A comfortable and controlled performance on the road saw us continue our perfect start to the season with a quality performance. Our FBs are so important in this formation and the fact all four in rotation perform week in week out is crucial to our season staying on track.

A big contract. The biggest we've handed out this save - and it's not without its risk. But as our best RW right now and with Borges getting eyed up by the rest of Europe I thought it important to tie him down for the foreseeable.

SEPTEMBER REVIEW

image.png.d8a3d8669f89ee2f5dc97dfd623485c3.png

A perfect month sees us get our first 3 points on the board in the Champions League against Bayern Munich, as well as a clean sweep in the Eredivisie to leave us 5 points clear, only having conceded 3 goals so far this season.
It will get busier, the legs will start to waiver - but this squad has the potential to be world beaters.

image.png.c9b38aefbff3423e5e6bebebdba29dd7.png

Player sales fronted what was a very profitable month for us. I will be hitting the board up for some improvements - mainly to the youth as it's imperative to our save. But lets see if I can catch them in a good mood

As expected we are dominant compared to the league average.  Brick wall at the back - Hurricane at the front.

The awards just keep coming for Jaimy Keizer 24A. What a talent.

Another two of our players get in the TOTW, you'd think it would be more however we only had 3 in the TOTY for the league last season despite our dominance.

OCTOBER PREVIEW

Napoli come to town tomorrow for our second CL game before games against struggling Go Ahead Eagles and 8th place sc Heerenveen.

A very winnable away trip to PAOK follows in the CL before two more Eredivisie games against European hopefuls AZ and 13th place Willem II

I rarely stray from a 433 in any of my saves as I find it's the most diverse tactic in terms of what you can get it to do. I alter the odd role / instruction as needed for the games but generally speaking I run this this season in majority of the games

What team instructions and player instructions do you use?

It's the first time since the Manchester City defeat that we haven't tasted victory - winning 8 games in a row. But we were poor here today.

Tahirovic scored a well struck effort from the edge of the box early in the first half, and that would be the only shot we would have in this game for 70+ minutes before we came to life slightly at the end.

End of the day, our performance didn't deserve a point but we left with one anyway.

Both the score-line and the match stats flatter us. Our defence was abnormally lapse, conceding in the 4th minute. We quickly got back into the game and went into half time 3 - 1 up.

Then they had a 20 minute spell of pummelling our net in the 2nd half, with Ramaj pulling off a good few solid saves - not to mention their disallowed goals. Regardless, we grind out another win to make it 12 / 12 in the league so far this season.

This was a game of two halves with every sense of the word. Ajax shocked the home crowd by both dominating and racing into a 3 - 0 lead at half time. van den Boomen made it 4 from the spot before we started to get tired, and Spurs started to play.

A couple of deflected goals and a typical Son finish later and we're going into added time with a goal lead, on the cusp of throwing a 4 goal lead to draw the game. Thankfully we manage to hang on to take a massive 3 points

NOVEMBER REVIEW

image.png.c140947151e62f28af072923a8ff49b0.png

With only 4 games played thanks to the international break, it was a somewhat subdued month. An excellent win at Spurs coupled with two Eredivisie wins gave us the perfect month - until we had to visit Liverpool. All in all, a positive month.

image.png.bcd611cd9e377a6acdced99b71c4dc77.png

lack of home games as well as player payments slowing down means we make a loss for the month, but we will easily overturn at the end of the season regardless.

Despite setting up to be a bit more defensive, we found ourselves on the front foot most of the first half, however we still went in at the break 1 - 1. Villarreal only managing two shots that entire half, but also an xG of 0.57 - they were picking their time, and countering us well. I told the lads to dig in at half time, only for Villarreal to make it 2 - 1 immediately after the restart - cheers lads :seagull:

We then spent the 2nd half dominating, having shot after shot saved. our xG was creeping up, over the 2.00 mark but we still only had one goal to show for it. Then up steps Kian Fitz-Jim to equalize late on.

A hard draw to take considering we dominated... Conceding 2 of their 3 shots on target.

Hato straight off the bat asked for important player, and when I attempted squad player, he walked away. I'll have to asses how his injury affects his progress before making a decision in the summer, as he's a strong player with good potential.

Diant Ramaj got in on the party, asking for an improved deal. He's been our starting GK all season and for most of last season and has performed - so I can't say I'm surprised he wanted a deal to reflect his newfound status.

Looking at our squad ability in that role, he's clear of everyone else as our #1 anyway.

JANUARY REVIEW

image.png.dffafdfcdd829f9646eb96ca22ea1a49.png

We saw only two league games this month, with us taking 4 points available from these. We are comfortable in the league still with our nearest rivals Feyenoord 12 points behind us.

A much changed youth side continued our charge to the Dutch Cup whilst a massive two wins in the Champions League saw us finish in 6th, qualifying for the knock outs in the process.

image.png.f913545eb94ea325efaf847f44cbc7bf.png

Board are understandably very happy with my current season. A few players who I needed minutes giving to did go out on loan for little to no money but we don't need the money from them right now, the experience is more important.

image.png.f900607e94ecbdc114174146c93e1dfd.png

Thanks to the sale of Avila we bring in a good solid profit for the month. Our wage bill is nearing the £1m a week stage and I would rather it didn't exceed that, although finance wise we are in a very healthy position.

In a game that I rotated a few positions, with one eye on the Dutch Cup, it took us 20 minutes to register a shot - but when we did, Keizer was there to slot it home for his 7th of the season. A goal woke us up, and we spent the rest of the half growing into the game until Hato, who was lacking in match fitness and making his first start since his 8 month injury, was burned alive for pace by Tillman as he set up a deft header to make it 1 - 1 from their first shot. Typical.

Then up steps Conceicao, who skipped inside past two players and rifled his 18th of the season in to restore our lead going into the break. A much more controlled 2nd half saw Conceicao score his 2nd before our subsitute wingers combined for the 4th.

The end of this season after the squad review I'm going to have a lot of players to look at. With no less than 20 players across the 3 teams having their contracts expire at the end of next season, this will be the time to either sell or renew for the majority. It's even harder to decide in a youth only save as even a 2* player could run out a good servant for the club.
Busy summer in store for me

And the 2nd half followed suit. Heracles never looked much of a threat, but against our free-scoring machine, they put up a valiant defensive display and limited us to one of our lowest xG this season.

We exit the Dutch Cup after what can only be described as our worse half of football since we started this save. Jay Gorter couldn't save anything if it was shot in slow motion, putting on a disasterclass in net.

4 - 1 down at half time, Brobbey benched due to a niggle and Conceicao missing with injury, we looked toothless in attack with Unuvar unfit and Bounida a peripheral first team figure at best.

Serious question marks must hang over the quality of the squad, with firm eyes fixed on Jaimy Kezier and if he's truly ready for first team football. Once Brobbey and Borges were introduced we took the upper hand, but a 3 goal deficit was too much for even us to overturn.

Conceding 5 goals from 6 shots on target, especially when 3 were from outside the box is simply not good enough.

FEBRUARY REVIEW

image.png.6a4a35e1a42558183be1152d1dab1a6d.png

A strong start to the month saw us blow away PSV and Feyenoord before we grinded out a win at last place Heracles.
Injuries and tired legs caught up with us by the time we got to FC Twente and we ended the month in disappointment. The Dutch cup still eludes us.

image.png.557c72eb55bd51e196f6122d820825cc.png

What may be our biggest loss so far this save. Once the parachute payments from sold players slows down our finances take a big hit, with us unable to touch our outgoings with the clubs day to day cash flow.

The club vision had us passed on the Dutch Cup, however the board were still understandably disappointed with our exit - I imagine we were favourites for the cup once we knocked Feyenoord out, but other than that blip we are clear in the league and have already more that surpassed our Champions League expectation.

With 2 home games in the league, the only potential banana skin there is away to Go Ahead Eagles - although their form has been indifferent.

There will also be our 2nd Youth Intake towards the end of the month :onmehead:

Draw away, win at home. This is always my plan in these two leg ties, so to win away is a huge result.

Despite us opening the scoring with our first shot, Brighton quickly took hold of the game and found themselves 2 - 1 up by the 11th minute. We then spent the half being outclassed.

Half time came and I took this as an opportunity to scream at everyone whilst throwing bottles of Buxton spring water around the gaff. It worked.
We came out in the second half a different team, suddenly winning every 50/50 and passing the ball with venom, and we were rewarded with two goals to flip the game again and give us a one goal lead back to Netherlands.
It's all to play for at home.

With fatigue mismanaged on my part, I had to rotate more than I'd have liked and at half time I didn't think it would matter. Then at 2 - 0 up, I considered us home and dry.

Then, FM did the thing it loves where the opposition scores two goals from their only 2 shots all game and suddenly we were on the back foot. Thankfully we managed to hang on for the aggregate win and extend our time in the Champions League.

With Go Ahead Eagles not registering a single shot in the first half, you'd be understood for thinking we were dominating, but it was anything but. We controlled the game but penetration was minimal, we struggled to get shots on goal.

Then, right on script, Edvardsen scores from 20 yards out, their first shot and an xG of 0.02

We fought back into the game through Brobbery but it took an injury time winner to get us over the line.

The legs are tired now, and it's showing - we aren't dominating games like we used too.

Borges started to make noise about his contract as he's one of our highest potential players I decided he was worth the increase - I was even more pleased that he accepted Squad Player, although I think him missing most of the season through injury helped this. With the ascendency of Conceicao as our star winger it was crucial that he wouldn't see himself as the Important Player he was last season.

The first half started as expected. Madrid dominated the ball and came close from kick off with Vini Jr hitting the post. We calmed the game down and settled in before a 9th minute penalty from their 2nd shot put them ahead.

Conceicao, returning to the team after his injury setbacks made sure we wasn't behind for long - a fitting return for someone in elite form. By some miracle, we were 1-1 at half time - restricting them to a few chances.

Then came the second half - what was perhaps our best half of football this season. Real Madrid failed to register a single key highlight as we restricted them in midfield before van den Boomen cut inside from the left to curl a shot in off the far post to send the away fans wild.

We hold on for a massive away victory to take into the 2nd leg at the Johan Cruyff ArenA

Real Madrid eh? In what was an infuriating first half of football in which we dominated and missed a handful of opportunities, we somehow found ourselves going 2 - 0 down towards the end of the first half - until our lord and saviour Conceicao popped up with a goal to take us in 2 - 1 down, and putting us back level on aggregate.

The 2nd half was the opposite as we went straight to extra time without a single key highlight to speak of.
The lads came in and were told to dig in and don't let this chance slip, and my god did they listen.

Neither team had any chances for the initial 20 minutes as both cautiously set about the game, until Arsenal burst into life having a flurry of shots saved to leave them with an xG over 1.00 in a matter of minutes.

In a half of few chances, Arsenal were on top and seeing the better of play despite our disallowed goal.

After telling the lads to keep hold of the ball better in the 2nd half, they delivered - with our first shot on target going in by Taylor.

Arsenal were rattled - and rightly so. We were playing with a new found intensity reserved for these Champions League nights in front of the Ajax faithful, and we were rewarded when a loose challenge from Ben White resulted in our 2nd goal from the spot.

The first half ended with Arsenal mustering one single off target shot from a corner - my tactic was working. Stifle them and hold up the ball.

The 2nd half came and Arsenal clearly had the hairdryer treatment as they came flying out the blocks. Then, against the run of play we win a penalty - which we miss. Arsenal have a new found spring in their step as they soon after score to half the deficit.

up steps our star man to equalize soon after, with conceicao netting his 22nd of the season. What a man. What a talent.

With our 2 goal lead restored, we set about our original game play - until it fell apart. two goals, including a 95th minute aggregate equalizer to take it to extra time.

With a mammoth amount of contracts due to be up at the end of next season, once the season and squad reviews are put into place there will be quite the culling in the lower ranks - although we can't be to hasty with our trigger finger whilst the academy is our only source of new talent.

Finishing the season winning 32 games and conceding a total of 13 goals across 34 games is insane. I do think this squad is going to weaken as the kids are pushed in to replace our star players but for now, we are incredible.

My usual tactic in these big games started us off as I'd hoped, the first 20 minutes came and went with only 2 shots registered in the game. We had a foothold. However as the half grew on, Spurs grew into the game and were awarded a penalty on the break when Mannsverk brought down Maddison - who converted to put us 1 - 0 down at half time.

The 2nd half started like the first, until Conceicao - who was having a poor game by his standards, beat his man down the wing and pulled the ball back to our 16 year old wonderkid Keizer to equalize.

With that goal we fired up the lads and sent on some reinforcements, which came up trumps instantly. Mere 30 seconds after being on the pitch, Hylnsson drilled a ball across the box for Conceicao to tap home at the far post. We have had 2 shots on target at this point and scored them both - we had the lead.

With Henderson introduced to put his influence on the game we started to see more of the ball, and before long we were 3 - 1 up with Hlynsson getting his first of the game since playing a masterclass from the bench - and he wasn't done there. Rensch sending a ball in to get him his 2nd of the game.

4 - 1 up. 85th minute.

With that victory, we look towards the Club World Championship - as well as the end of season reviews and the squad review, before we tackle a monster load of contracts.

What a season. Winning the Champions League already in season 2 is huge. Interesting to see if the big clubs are coming for your star players.

I read that you posted your initial tactic. Interested in what do you change when starting in huge games as the CL final.

Yeah, I'm happy to have won it - but we are only going to get weaker as star players jump ship. Going into the CWC and the summer now there isn't many that's wanted by big clubs and the ones that are are happy here and are happy to tie down long term contracts so we will see!

If I'm away (or neutral) from home against a side that we simply shouldn't be beating - I change to a possession counter attacking system. my wingers are told to man mark their fullbacks to try and restrict their momentum, I instruct basically everybody except my striker and wingers to shoot less, dribble less, play a safer game to retain the ball as much as possible.

With the season coming to an end, we can see a monster season of £184M puts us in an amazing position financially. I will be requesting some improvements from the board. Lets hope they're in a good mood.

With AC Milan circling, and Ethan entering into the last year of his contract, we tied him down to a 4 year term. He's emerged as our starting LCB since Avila's departure for Bayer Leverkusen (he's also unhappy there)

SQUAD REVIEW 2025

GK

image.png.7e5311ec63f574d06c0bf42452030d05.png

Ramaj's emergence as our number one see's him become comfortably our best keeper. Gorter's lack of game time and injuries sees his growth stutter - maybe he's hit his peak. Charlie and Tommy are both on his heals to be our number 2 next season, we will see.

DEFENDERS

DL

image.png.9f1c12048c6b9c4b89d0ed3f2b8121b5.png

Hato's ability has actually gone down -2 since last season, likely due to missing half the season with injury. Sosa and Wijndal take the position, Hato will rotate in and also start featuring more at LCB if need be.
Lucas Jetten's growth puts him firmly into the first team picture, and should transfers happen he may come straigth in

DCL

image.png.84bfa1ad65cffa339a5d388dba8c2473.png

Kaplan, Butera and Jansen could all take the DCL role. Kaplan and Butera will keep the role however should either leave or get injured Jansen will stick around now.
Werner MacAndrew is our first 2025 intake to feature in the squad review, coming in at a decent 72 for a 15 year old.

DCR

image.png.2271e6e5764b957d081ee34d441cdda8.png

Sutalo and Medic are both clear first team CBsm with Ugwu and Aertssen both capable of coming into the first team if need be.

Statovci from our first intake has come on brilliantly for a 16 year old and is well on his way to breaking into the first team.

DR

image.png.71538fc6be88b8dd2d3b84411ee60890.png

Rench and Gaaei stay our starting RBs with Gooijer on the cusp of breaking in.

Post has made some good progress, and we see two 2025 intake player's coming into the fold with Paal looking strong.

MIDFIELD

DM

image.png.d9afa7af51836a3c7638bdf063e2389b.png

Despite his decline, Henderson remains our strongest DM - however with his contract up next season and his £66,000 a week wages putting a huge dent in our £1,000,000 a week wages he may well be moved on this summer, with Verkujil coming into the first team as deputy to Mannsverk.

our DM position looks stacked either way with Jordy Sanders and Jurich Martina both developing perfectly well.

MCL

image.png.af0e573c78091d0c026c60234f9849aa.png

Van den Booman and Fitz-Jim remain our strongest MCL despite having a 2nd season of little growth. Van den Booman is a top player however with de Koning and Vos on the cusp of first team football, if an offer comes in for him he may be allowed to go if it's a good team.

MCR

image.png.cbf7a63c4d5bbec27a137399e87a3636.png

Taylor and Tahirovic remain our strongest MCR options with Van der Vaart and Chourak capable if the need arises. our best intake player of 2025 comes in at a decent rating for a 15 year old!

FORWARDS

AML

image.png.e34e6e97e405c4b9a8fee1d67efa22ec.png

Hlynsson's fine season has seen him become our strongest LW, with Unuvar not far behind. With three other players first team quality we are not short on the LW position what so ever

ST

image.png.a935caa07b0a303b2642ce52b5a0e9fa.png

To put it blunt we have way to many ST at the club and some with lower potential and growth will have to move on.  Brobbey and Kezier are our strongest 2 strikers, Akpom given his age will be moved on with Mikautadze when they both return from loan.

AMR

image.png.873ecc1e262a57acb8828935e079e387.png

Not as many on the right but still loads of quality there. Conceicao and Borges will trade the first team spot whilst no less than 3 other players could comfortably step into the first team at a moments notice.
