Generation-Next
Welcome To Ewood Park Key History Of The Mighty Rovers Founded in 1875, Blackburn Rovers are a professional English club, playing in the English Premier League. Home games are played at Ewood Park and they possess magnificent training facilities and a good youth setup. Christie Park is home to Blackburn's Reserve team. The Club Is Affectionately known as The Rovers, and retains a fierce rivalry with Burnley. As a club who enjoyed there best spell of success in the 1880's, and their last cup win coming as recently as 2002, Rovers have a growing history. Blackburn won have won the league on three occasions, 1912,1914 and 1995, they also finished runners up on one occasion, won the FA Cup 6 times came runners up 2 times, won the league cup in 2002, they also won English 2nd tier for the only time in 1939, but have come runners up on 2 occasions. Minus-ing one player, Andre Oojier who went too PSV for 1.8mil. Good money if you can get it. Key Players Ryan Nelson(Going In Hard But Fair HAHA) On Tim Howard This Maniac has been the back bone of Rovers defence since joining from American team D.C United, at the start of the 04/05 season. This Seasoned veteran will serve you for around another 3 years in my opinion, if he doesn't wish to move on, despite being great his pace and acceleration has decreased over the last few years and will only carry on going down. So If you like you could spend a couple of million on a Young CB, who will be more than ready to take the reins from him when he does want to hang up his boots. Morten Gamst just looking cool The best player in the original midfield set up, without a shadow of a doubt. This magician came from Tromso in 2004/2005, and again has performed brilliantly through out his Blackburn career. The Fans love him, the managers love him. The only people in fact who do hate him, is the oppositions defensive line. This man will be sniffed at by big clubs. It all depends whether you want to let this true great go. Last But Not Least, Roque Santa Cruz Scoring 19 league goals in his 1st season at Blackburn, he is the most prolific goal scorer since Alan Shearer roamed these parts. Roque, uses his head very well and is the perfect example of a good target man. Having stats of 17 in both jumping and heading. A player who could sit back and play a quick striker through would be brilliant. (thats how i played him in 1st friendly he scored 3, set up 1). This guy is a beast, you dont want him to go anywhere, anytime soon. --- Improvements That Should Be Made Having only a young RB(Danny Simpson) to start with and a back up DR C, in Andre Ooijer(who is a much better CB), i think its clear to see what needs to happen. Yes, a new RB. Belletti and Paulo Ferreira, Both of whom can be loaned. But since Belletti is transfer listed at a measly £3.7mil, i thought meh, what the hack and had a go with him. But a loan could be useful if you dont want to use alot of money on an old RB. The next position that should be upgraded is the CB position, like i said before it is vital to secure a back up youngster for Ryan Nelson when he decides to go. My Targets Thiago Silva 23 year old, Of Fluminense Priced at 1.3million or Stefan Radu. 21 Years Old Of Lazio. Ive just offered contract after having a 3million bid accepted for his services. Either Player will be brilliant. The Strike force could be brightened up a bit, and getting rid of shambolic Jason Roberts could free up the funds needed for this. You can either go for Oscar Cardozo, or do what i did, go for Keirrison, oh how i love him ---- Ok so thats about it from me children . Ill just tell you who ive bought so far. Stefan Radu 3million, (Hopeful) Keirrison 4.5million. Done Deal Gabriele Paonessa (Bologna) 2mil. Done Deal Cassio (PSV) 1.8mil. Done Deal. (To replace the shambolic Robinson next season when i sell) Belletti 3.7mil. Done Deal. Out Oojier 1.8mil > PSV Finances I Told the board i would challenge for the title , which i believe i can with the squad im building. I got 14.5million to Spend. Use It Wisely =] Hope you all enjoyed this thread. (sorry if theres already one haha!)

tom orchard
Im so glad that this has been created. Well done!...i put a good few hours into creating a Rovers thread but had a horrible harddrive error which wiped it(and my current Rovers save game). So ive had to start all over again. I started cautiously with the board. Told them a top half finish is my aim so for that I was awarded 11 odd million for transfers. I added to that with the sales of Jason Roberts to Sunderland for £3.5m (YES REALLY!) Steven Reid to Spurs for £5.0mil(YES REALLY REALLY!) Aaron Mokoena to WBA for £2.7mil(Even I really dont know how i managed that one) Ive bought Christian Maggio(Napoli) £5.75mil upfront Rafeal Carioca(Gremio) £3.0 mil upfront Pogrebnyak(Zenit) £5.75mil Vincent Enyeama(K Tel-Aviv) £275k Tactics Im playing a flat 4 4 2 with a CM set up defensivly with a backwards facing arrow both fullbacks pusing well forward. tom orchard
Okay, currently in January 2009. Very pleased with how this career is going. Playing some great football, lots of good wingplay. Been very lucky with injuries so far. Santa Cruz has sat out a couple as have stevie warnock and Nelsen. Carlos Villanueva was out from oct until end of december with a knee injury. Update on season so far. Premier League. Still sitting in 3rd after 19 games. Only a couple of points behind Arsenal in 2nd and 3 points ahead of Liverpool in 4th.(Man Utd floundering in 6th! HaHaHaHa!) League Cup. Facing Arsenal in the Semi's. Beat Spurs 2-1 in the 4th round, got drawn against Liverpool in the quarters. Won that one 3-2 with 2 goals in the last 4 minutes to win the game. FA Cup. Obviously no games played yet. But a good draw for the 3rd round. At home to Preston. Love the local derbys. Top Players. Santa Cruz 19 starts 12 goals 7.18 Pogrebnyak 18 starts 10 goals 7.22 Maggio 20 starts 6 goals 5 Assists 7.40 Gamst Pedersen 17 starts 4 goals 2 assists 7.11 Warnock 16 starts assists 7.29 Honerable mention goes to Sir Matthew of Derbyshire. Great in the cups. 2 games, 4 goals and average of 7.60 in the league cup. Transfers. IN. Sergio Mota Sao Paulo £2.6mil. (need cover on the wings as Sergio Peter isnt worth spit and Treacy isnt ready yet.) OUT McCarthy - £4.2mil to Espanyol at end of the season. Generation-Next. Im seriously tempted by Keirrison. Hows he doing for you?

weeman
i got rid of my arsenal game to start up a rovers game, what coaches did u guys bring in?
timmers
You start off with more coaches than the board are happy with so you have to terminate 3 coaches contracts if i remember correctly in order just to get 1 quality coach in. Check out the national teams for free great coaches. I got in Court from Arsenal but Nilsson of Sweden is a favourite of mine. It is worth stealing a few of Portsmouth's scouts though, good stats and cheap.

hawkiiz
thanks for creating this one i've managed blackburn for 3,5 seasons now. started out decent with 10th in the league and poor cup runs (knocked out by two of the big four teams) i found out that i cant buy my way up the table, so i had to build brick on brick looking many years ahead. what i did was signing a number of teens. i sent my scouts around the worlds searching for youth. and found a few great ones. marius skjæveland, kristoffer berntzen, henry michels and oriold etxebarria to name a few. i also got rid of most of the players from the original squad. so now my first 11 looks like this (february 2012) attacking 4-4-2 GK-robinson RB-etxebarria/grétar steinsson (i try to implement etxebarria because he is slightly unhappy not to get regular first team football. he is still a bit young, but is doing ok) DC-michels - the guy is amazing. by far the best DC i have had, and i have tried a few haha) DC-kahleem hyland/andriy rusol i have to mix it up so they dont get angry. these used to be my preferred DCs but michels blew me away, so they had no chance. LB-warnock - he is still great. i have to rotate a bit on the midfield, but they are all strong so i can handle most injuries RW-Emerton - fans fave and putting away a few goals aswell. brilliant for penalties MC-Luigi Bruins, when he is not injured. if he is i rotate on Alan Dzagoev and Zuculini depending on the mentality. dzagoev for attack and vice versa MC-Schinderlein/D'Allesandro. both great, and D'allesandro can handle all midfield positions. ML-radek sirl ST-daniel aquino wonderkid! great pace and finishing. ST-oscar cardozo - paraguay international. i sold santa cruz to arsenal for 16.5m, and got oscar for 15.5m - he has similar qualities to santa, but better. and blasts a lot of long shots. this pair is better than shearer/sutton ever was. absolutely fantastic when in form. sadly this season was ruined because oscar got injured for 8 months backup. gk-brown/nielsen (magnus) rb-kew jaliens St- shevchenko (he is 35 but still great stats, and i got him almost for free. (huge wage though) he has 5 in 5 so far ST-danny welbeck-got him for free as he was released from man utd. not great but a good and young backup. scores a few spectacular goals. i also have Roberts, but rarely use him. he tend to score if he have not played for a while, but cant keep it up for more than 2-3 matches. RB/DC- ooijer -old and not good. retiring at the end of season. DM-berntzen - he is good enough for my 1st but the DMs i got are playing superbly and he is still a bit young. ML-skjæveland is getting there but sirl still have a few years in him. DL- Olsson i think thats it. many young players that i need to hold on to, or sell for huge fee. im optimistic sadly i have not been able to get anything more than 10th-14th finishes, but i think i'll break it this season. i rarely let in goals as long as michels is on, but i need to get cardozo back to his best. im 11 right now but almost half the season to get it right. knocked liverpool out of FA cup, but somehow cardiff got the best of me in the fifth round the board is happy with how my competitions are going - safe mid-table is the aim. i dont dare asking for more yet, and it is easy to make it happen. i want to build the team over many years, so it is vital i dont get the sack. hopefully my young guns will kick on soon. i managed to get rid of all dept so no loans outstanding and im well under my wage budget althougt the 3 top strikers cost a lot and im afraid aquino will demand to leave sometime soon. wont let him though. any thoughts on who i should replace, and whith who? they have to be cheap or really great as i dont want to sell anyone at the moment. weeman
two games into the season got done twice 2-0 away to chelsea cant blame me for that and 2-1 at home to spurs, first game of the season 6 players made their debut so hope its players just bedding in before i get sacked, also spent alot of time getting coaches in will up-date later to see how i get on after another few games
hawkiiz
My season ended 14th again. Mostly because cardozo was out for 8 months and i never could establish a good partnership between aquino and my other strikers (brought shevchenko in as emergency solution for 100k) they did ok for a while but it never took off. Sad because my team looked strong on paper and i got some great results against liverpool and man utd. Just started my 4th season in charge. Looking good so far, cardozo and aquino back to their best, banging in regularily. I didt do too much dealings in the summer, so i have a good war chest for january. Sold emerton for 3m, schneiderlin for 7,5m and a few reserves for around 1m each. Got saviola (30 years) for 500k and renato augusto for 8.5m and another defensive mid for 2.5 (cant remember his name now). Also a pair of my young guns are starting to push for first team spots cant wait for them to really shine! 2nd in prem after 3 matches. But now i have liverpool, city, arsenal and chelsea coming up so that will define my season i guess. And henry michels is a monster in defense! 18 years and playing like he was terry. jamiet666
HALF SEASON REPORT (till end of January) The initial squad is reasonably strong, however I felt the need of a number of new transfers to add some depth to most areas of the team, well all areas really. With this in mind i skimmed through as many young prospects under 5m as i could. I brought in Belletti and Santon from Chelsea Inter respectively, the former on loan to see how good he is and the latter as back-up. Jason Roberts and Mccarthy are not good enough for a partnership with Santa Cruz so i picked up Cardozo for some firepower. Carioca was brought in for some midfield back up , aiming to eventually replace Tugay. Also i decided to buy Defour as he can be a magician. Thiago Silva was also bought in because he was available for only £5M and Zuculini bought in to solve the DM problems. I had strengthened my squad significantly but the players were finding it hard to gel together. In the January window, I decided to sell Samba so as to give chances to Thiago Silva. Out went Dunne because his place was taken by Defour. Roberts was also sold because Middlesborough came bidding for him. I also bought Aquani mainly for the FC back-up spot. TRANSFERS: Budjet 11m IN: Defour - 10m Zuculini - 500k Carioca - 3.3m Cardozo -6.25m Santon - 6m Belletti - loan Thiago Silva - 2.9m total - 29.5m OUT: Samba - 7.5m Roberts - 7.25m Dunne - 7.25m Khizanishvili - 3.7m Judge - 1.5m Mokoena - 3.7m Reid - 7.25m total: 38m SEASON PERFORMANCE: My basic aim for this season is to just claim a spot in europe for next season. The FA and League cups can wait. I generally play 4-4-2 and tinker a lot during matches with the instructions. I have still not got a preset tactic. Hopefully by season end I will come up with one. I have not been performing as well as i would like so far however i think this is because my players are not yet gelled brialliantly due to the large number of changes i made to the team. I have recorded a number of losses against what i consider to be lesser teams such as West Brom and Newcastle. As well as defeat to Liverpool and Arsenal both home and away. I have beaten manu and drawn with chelsea and so far my season looks like this: W10 D8 L8. i am currently lying in 11th place. SQUAD: GK: Robinson (Enyeama) DR: Belletti (Santon, Ooijer) DL: Warnock (Olsson) DC: Thiago Silva (Ooijer) DC: Nelson (Ooijer) MR: Emerton (Santon) ML: Pederson (Peter) MCa: Defour (Tugay) MCd: Carioca (Zuculini, Tugay, Grella) ST: Santa Cruz (Derbyshire, Mccarthy) TM: Cardozo (Derbyshire, Mccarthy) Players in brackets are accomplished for the positions mentioned and played only as second choice. Comments and suggestions are welcome.

He's awful has anyone managed to get him playing as in real life? If you have can you post your instructions for him. I've tried him in both CM and AMC but all he gets are 6's. I'd rather not sell him he's Rover through and through, any advice welcome.

You can either go for Oscar Cardozo, or do what i did, go for Keirrison, oh how i love him ---- Ok so thats about it from me children. Ill just tell you who ive bought so far. Stefan Radu 3million, (Hopeful) Keirrison 4.5million. Done Deal Gabriele Paonessa (Bologna) 2mil. Done Deal Cassio (PSV) 1.8mil. Done Deal. (To replace the shambolic Robinson next season when i sell) Belletti 3.7mil. Done Deal. Out Oojier 1.8mil > PSV Finances I Told the board i would [b[challenge for the title[/b], which i believe i can with the squad im building. I got 14.5million to Spend. Use It Wisely =] Hope you all enjoyed this thread. (sorry if theres already one haha!) CHALLENGE FOR THE TITLE!!!! Continental qualification would be a good finish 4th-8th. el sid
Finished 5th in my first season. Knocked out early in the Carling Cup and the FA Cup though by Arsenal and Hull respectively Second season 5 games up and so far have won everything. Stupid chairman sold Vela for 26 million to Real Madrid over my head. Also sold Santa Cruz for 30 million to Chelsea. I have again selected "Continental Qualification" as my aim. Wasn't sure I could get into top 4 what with the "Second Season Syndrome" Doing well though so far. 3rd in the league behind Man Utd and Arsenal on goal difference. Knocked out of the Carling Cup by WBA after fielding all the reserves Knockout matches don't seem to be my thing ! Playing an attacking diamond formation. Cardozo and Rossi upfront with Matias Fernandez behind them. Marquinhos and Kranjcar on the wings and Ruben De la Red as DM. My defense consists of Sergio Asenjo, Michael Chretien, Juan Manuel Vargas, Miranda and Fabricio Coloccini.

Ive agreed a 5 Million deal for Oscar Cardozo as his replacement, Whats every1's thoughts? Good move. Cardozo will score a shedload of goals and you will have a decent wedge to improve the team. One thing though, if its Man City you should be able to squeeze them for a bit more.

Biggsl02
I got offered the Blackburn job half way through the second season, managed to win the League Cup 2-1 against Liverpool and finish 5th in my first season. Had to sell Christopher Samba though, he wanted to move so he could win more trophys (Funnily enough he moved to Liverpool). Replaced him with Thiago Silva and brought in Pablo Aimar from Sevilla too, excited for the new season, hopefully will get Marouane Fellaini as Everton got relegated this season
jamiet666
Right my aim is to achieve a place in Europe for the 2009/10 season. I'm going to off load all of the useless people such as Dunn & Roberts and try to get together some youths i can gell. Transfers Out: David Dunn - 7.5m Jason Roberts - 7.5m Benni Mccarthy - 9m (yes 9!!) Reid - 5m Emerton - 7m Transfers in: Defour - 10m Santon - 6m Zuculini - 1m Keirrison - 4m Bangoura - 5m (awesome signing) Thiago Silva - 3.5m These are the signings over the course of the entire first season as by January half of my team was wanted. Starting XI: GK - Robinson (Bunn) DL - Warnock DR - Santon (Ooijer) DC - Thiago Silva (Samba, Mokoena) DC - Nelsen (Samba, Mokoena) MCa - Defour (Tuagy, Grella) MCd - Mokoena (Zuculini, Grella) AML - Pederson (Bangoura) AMR - Bangoura (Santon) AMC - King Carlos (Defour) FC -Santa Cruz (Keirrison) This team got me to 3rd place in the Premiership so far, i have 8 more games left and should end up either 4th or 5th due to some tough fixtures. Went out in the 6th round of the FA cup to Liverpool Next season my aim is to get King Carlos off of a Loan contract and onto a real deal. To try to break into the top 4 and hopefully win the UEFA Cup. As well as making either the FA or CArling Cup finals. Will try to get some screen shots up soon. Hope all is not too quiet on the Blackburn front, don't abandon hope quite yet!!
