We all live in the world of a random person's FM save where he or she presses "Terminate Contract" in the editor whenever Jose Mourinho reaches the third season at any club.

So in an alternate reality, I will do my best to replicate Mourinho's achievements on this save.

So our first club we are managing is Olympique Marseille. The goal is to win the Champions League. Either do that or get sacked. This is what the squad looks like.

Mid season update.

We are 4th in Ligue 1 with 31 points from 17 games. The results have not been that bad in the league, we have been just about par for the course. We have been knocked out of the Champions League though, the performances were pitiful and this squad needs reshaping. Vitinha, Samuel Lino, Chancel Mbemba and Geoffrey Kondogbia have been key players.

We finished the season in 7th place. A difficult and disappointing end to the season. In the French Cup we reached the semi final and we lost against RC Lens. In the Champions League we got knocked out in the group stage.

I did get messages from the board, but I survived the season, will do absolutely anything to keep my job. We were doing very well until a horrendous run at the end of our season.

I resigned as Marseille manager after 15 months in charge as my position felt untenable. Unfortunately I left them in 15th place in the league and things were not going our way.

However the resignation was a great show of self awareness and I knew when to quit when the media were talking about me getting sacked. I wanted respite from all this speculation so I decided to walk away myself.

Marseille are a complicated club with sky high expectations, considering the fact that we had to sell players every season, it was more apparent that we could not compete for trophies in the way that I would have liked. However we got to the semi final of the French Cup last season.

I have now officially joined my new club, it is Stade Rennais FC also known as Rennes. The squad looks healthy and hungry to impress and I hope that our team can do wonderful things.

After leaving Marseille, I feel like I am joining a club on the way up, rather than a club on the way down. Honestly the transfer policy at Marseille was not quite making sense and many decent players had to leave, some of the players that came in were not of the required standard to play for Marseille.

I hope at Rennes I have a better experience.

Christophe Galtier has been confirmed as the new Marseille manager. To be fair to them, it is a good appointment. He could be the one to frankly revive a stagnating club. Marseille is a difficult job, sky high expectations, constant churn of players, sometimes players downing tools, if he can manage to get a tune out of those players, fair play to him.
