They literally always get hammered by us. We tried to compensate missing quality with aggression but it only worked in the first half. A convincing victory against the Bulgarians to start off our European campaign. The Swiss had no chance at all. Giardino scored his first goal for us. A pretty boring game. We were the better team but sometimes you just can´t do anything about it. A Bianchi double saved our day. Here comes our first defeat in Europe and how unlucky it was! They equalized our early lead late in the game and we thought we had won it when Cordoba scored 2 minutes from time to give us back the lead but somehow something happened then and we conceded 2 goals in stoppage time. Maybe it was the home crowd intimidating our players, I don´t really know. The perfect response! We put up a real fight and took the 3 points in Salerno! Cuk scored in the 92nd minute to win us the game! Deserved? No. But I don´t give a ****. They controlled the game as expected. League Table 9th place. The league is pretty even. We surprised them with our offensive approach and they just couldn´t handle it. Phew! We got away lucky in this game. 3 more points for us. A strong performance vs the Champions. We matched them which shows our newly acquired confidence. Cuk is our most important player at the moment as he is getting us all the points... ...wait! Did I say Cuk? A good result for us as they were the better team. A good team performance all in all. Congratulations to the lads as they completely outplayed the favorites! It was tough and we had to work hard for those 3 points. The red card made it a bit easier. They were all over us. A quickfire early goal double secured their 3 points. Dovin wanted to leave once the offer was there and we could do nothing about it. Well, if he wants to spend the next years sitting on the bench filling in 1 or 2 times a season for Kobel, thats his choice. The rest were loans out because they complained about not playing enough. We needed a new number one keeper and in came Martin Vantruba. We will probably look for a better keeper after the season. AND we signed Uber-talent center back Giacomo Superbi, a real gem! Results Undefeated! A great start into the new year. 2 shots on goal, 2 goals. I guess that was a lucky win. Thats ok, it was an even game. A must-win at home and we delivered. But it was quite some work after going behind 0-2 and coming back to win it. We continued to shine in Europe. Our favorite opponent. Cuk finished them off. Those 3 points came unexpected! But Bianchi decided to win the game for us. We almost won it but we are ok with a draw too. League Table Lurking in 7th place. League Table We finished 4th, this is quite unexpected. We had the better chances and converted one of them to defeat them. We will meet AC Milan in the semis. Olzer does not play that much, but when he is needed he is there. He saved us a valuable point in Rome. A really boring game. Meh. I guess they had their revenge on us for their Coppa Italia defeat. It was very lucky, though. This game was easier than expected. We scored early and were able to add another goal via a pen. They did nothing. Giardino scored right after they levelled the score which was the decisive moment in the game. They gave us a little scare when they scored after 14 minutes but we were able to calmly shut the game off after the break. Next: Manchester United in the Quarter Final. They won the 1st leg. But the result leaves us every chance of a comeback. League Table We even moved up to 6th. Youth Intake Martone is the best of the bunch. Carambau Posted July 23 Author Share Posted July 23 La Leonessa April 2028 Results This month was packed with matches! 9 games in 30 days! Insane, but we mostly made the best out of the situation. We beat Inter! A great team performance, but it came at a cost: Cuk was injured and is out for 2 weeks! A respectable result, although it may not be enough to win this tie. Giardino once more scored a decisive goal! 3 points secured. Well, this was obviously going to happen. However, the number of our shots was cringe. Cuk saved the day on his comeback! He came on in the 70th minute and scored the goal 10 minutes later. We just couldn´t score. This broke our back and we went out. Cuk to the rescue again. This time we could have scored way more though. We had to lose some day again and this is what happened against Lazio. Our first Derby victory! And what a crucial win this could be - Atalanta could lose the title because of this defeat. The still 18 year old scored 21 goals compared to Bianchi´s 23 in almost as many matches! No surprise he won the Seria A Best Young Player Award. Our new keeper Vantruba had a great half season for us, securing us many points. Ciervo, Matheus Alexandre and Besaggio were as consistent as ever, providing the most assists (Ciervo). Superbi and Papetti held our defence tight at the back, Gorby is improving and improving as a ball-winning midfielder and Giardino scored vital goals despite not playing that often. Veteran Bisoli is too old now and will leave us as we will try to build on more youth players from our academy: Our U18s just won the national U18s league in style! Same goes for Galazzi and Matheus Alexandre but they were not as key as he was for us. Rodriguez wanted to return to Spain and Giardino did not want to rot on the bench here which is understandable. Martino went back to his homeland Argentina as well. Gomes is a new talented playmaker joining from Benfica, Dahl is a left wing back from Sweden and Weigandt is a right wing back from Argentina. Boattini can play both wing back positions, Dal Bosco is a new option for the ball winning midfielder position, Aguirre is a left winger who joins from Torino. And as you can never go wrong with a big, tall German in goal we signed Nübel from Werder. Ivanovic gets loaned out right away to get match practice, and Vannozzi is joining our U20 team. Now you might tend to ask the important question: "Where is the replacement for Bianchi?" and here come our Brescia Academy Products - the Two Lucas: Luca Franchi and Luca Conti. After years out on loan at Serie C and Serie B clubs to earn their trade, they seem finally ready to join our first team. Same goes for winger Domenico Ferrari. The Team Goal Nübel is our new number one. Vantruba will be only backup from now on. Rovida is somehow still here. Defence We added a lot of quality here. Midfield Many new and young players here. Attack Cuk is our main striker now. Let´s see how the two Lucas will contribute. Key Player He lives up to his name for sure. Tactics Nübel new in goal and more Italian youngsters. We struck shortly before and after half time but they came back and we had to seal the deal with Cuk´s 2nd goal. After our early goal they steamrolled us. No chance. This scoreline could have been way higher. We have to critisize our finishing here. They gave us no air to breathe and so the point is ok. Our second Derby win in a row! We completely overran them in the first minutes and they did not come back from that shock. League Table Is that called a "Milan Sandwich"? Fiorentina have assembled a world class team by now. Granted, they won the game in the 97th minute but they were the clear and deserved winners here. 2 defeats in a row and our first one in Europe. This one was rather unlucky but what can you do sometimes. It could have been worse. If Mir scored the penalty I don´t know if we could have come back from a 0-2. Finally 3 points again but it was easy after the red card. League Table Milan broke away. Europe Lying in 4th is a good position for the remaining 3 games. Luca Conti finishing Juventus off with his strike. Batumi aren´t a Giant but you gotta beat them and we did. We woke up too late and then the game was already over. Here come the Giant Killers part two! Cuk finished off Milan this time. This looks like an easy win but it wasn´t! We only won the game in the last minutes. Luca Franchi scored again. And it remained the only goal on that day. League Table We go into the new year lying in 3rd place. League Table 2 games to go. We already secured the playoffs. I just completely forgot about it and we were punished for it! So our best player was snapped up for a absolutely bargain price by our rivals! Well done, Baxter... the fans won´t forget this I am sure! Oh and 2 loans out were wrapped up too. So we had to bring in a replacement, or sort of, and signed Sebastiano Luperto, an experienced center back. Ivan Cordoba will take Superbi´s place in the first team from now on though. Results Wonderful start into the new year. Well we had the same number of shots but look at the xG. Again, we had the same amount of shots on goal but the xG speaks different. A convincing win for us, nothing spezial. Ferrari scored rapidly after he come on and secured us 3 points. We finished the League Phase with another win. They learned from their heavy defeat in the Coppa Italia and shut up shop. League Table Still in 3rd place. League Table We finished 2nd this time. When in Rome... take 3 points with you. We showed the fighting spirit you need in knockout competitions! After we were 3-0 up, we took the foot from the throttle a bit, hence their goal. Aguirre´s best game in a Brescia jersey yet! He alone destroyed Inter! Lucky, but in the end deserved. Cordoba´s foul led to the penalty that won the Derby. We could not strike back with only 10 men. They are just so damn good. We did not have to give our best here and still qualify. Lovely victory, but again we could have scored so many more. Now this is more like it. A right trashing. We had a very good game and don´t have to be ashamed. We need to be more clinical in our finishing though. Hopefully in the second leg! Oh wow! Now we are even winning away at Juve! We scored twice early and held tight until stoppage time but their goal didn´t matter then. Both teams were nervous. They missed an early penalty and then we took the lead after an hour with another penalty. But they responded in class and beat us. A wonderful way to end the season but sadly it wasn´t enough. Cuk won the Best Young Player Of The Season Award while our keeper Nübel won the Goalkeeper Of The Year Award. And our two Lucas placed 1st and 2nd in the La Giovane Italia U19 Best Forward Award. Interestingly, our team was also voted Best Team Of Serie A. Our new signings played mostly well too. We will have to reconsider the importance of some players in our team after this season though. Carambau Posted July 28 Author Share Posted July 28 (edited) La Leonessa Start of Season 2029/2030 Transfers Sadly, Nübel turned out to be a money-grabbing mercenary as he went back to the club which sold him off a few seasons ago for the big dollar (or Euro in this case). Boattini leaving was always a possibility as he had already outgrown us and he went to City. Dahl and Cistana were not good enough anymore for us so they went as well. The rest are the usual loans. Italy U21 keeper Belluzzi will replace Nübel as our first choice goalkeeper. Allegrucci is literally the successor of Boattini, Cortese will be our new right back with Zappa as his backup. Pini is a talented central defender while Gagliardini brings experience to this position of the ball winning midfielder, which Cirillo also will be a backup for. Longo gives us more options on the wings. Barra is a young central defender who joins from our U20 team. The Team Goal Nübel has betrayed us so Belluzzi came in for him. He is a great talent! Defence Many new and young faces here. Midfield Gagliardini brings experience. Attack Cuk is still our main man in attack. Key Player Cuk is our best attacker. Tactics New wing backs! A massive win against big Milan! Cordoba headed in the winner after a corner 2 minutes from time. Conti running riot again! This time he scored four! The game only came to life in the last 15 minutes, when 5 goals were scored. I am sure the neutral fans enjoyed this. Conti only scored 1 goal. Disappointing. A last-gasp winner from Allegrucci secured our 100% record in the league this month. League Table We are already ELEVEN points ahead, but Napoli and Inter have one game in hand, granted. They countered our early lead and took the lead themselves but we were able to equalize 15 minutes from time. Conti with a double and Roma were defeated. This was a must-win and we delivered. Ciervo wanted a new challenge, Aguirre wanted to follow the money and Gomes never really made it here. Weigandt went on loan for match practice. Results It had to happen someday. In an even game we had the more clinical striker: Vanja Cuk. Here we go. Chiesa sealed our fate in the 96th minute of the game. Back to our winning way against overwhelmed Empoli. Franchi saved the day! 3 more points in Europe! One goal in either half and we won 2-0. We showed we are no pushovers in Europe! Despite having fewer chances we were way more effective and won the game after a Franchi brace. League Table It is still 6 points. Inter are chasing us. Napoli are always tough and this game was no different. We would have liked to avoid extra time but sometimes the opponent just hast to score the equalizer in the second-last minute of mentioned extra time. At least we know how to take penalties. Often its the smaller teams that cause the most problems... ...but sometimes you just blow them away in their own yard. Seems like we are dominating the Derby lately. BOOM! They thought they could play their second string team and still get a result. How wrong they were! Luca Franchi punished them for their arrogance! Our worst game of the year and then against Milan of all teams! This could prove crucial. Another straight defeat! They were all over us and we can count us lucky that they slowed down in the 2nd half and missed that penalty. Thank god Cuk appears when it matters most. Most of the time. Conti scored twice but it was not enough. And we have to be honest - they were the better team over those 2 legs. Cuk to the rescue for at least one point Are they bogeying us again? I Rossoblù made it hard for us. In the end we had to thank Luca Franchi for the point. League Table Somehow, Inter did not make the most of our rather weak results and we are still leading by 10 points. Could this be the season? Youth Intake Another POOR intake!! What is going on here?
