Good luck! I love a South American save!

I've only ever managed once in Peru, and that was with Alianza Lima way back in FM08. Had some really good national team players in the side back then.

I've managed Universitario on both FM23 and 24, unfortunately I wasn't successful either time, but I liked managing them and love their huge stadium.

In case you've not managed in Peru before FM does simulate the effects of playing at high altitude so away games against teams like Cienciano, Sport Huancayo and especially Binacional are very difficult as your players condition deteriorates much quicker than usual, whereas your opponents won't as they've adjusted to the conditions.

Good luck.

Thankyou for the heads up, I had heard of this prior to starting this, wasnt aware of what teams this may happen at mind!

If you want to know which teams play at high altitude you have to go into the editor and look at the city the stadium is in as unfortunately the game itself gives you no warning.

I did make a list from my FM24 save game and the ones to look out for are the 3 mentioned above, Cusco, Garcilaso, and ADT which are all above 10,000 feet.  UTC and Melgar are also ones to look out for, but they're not as high up and so the effect isn't as strong.

We continued our good start to the season, but a narrow frustrating defeat away to Cusco saw us drop points for the first time this season

The top 6 after 6 games puts us joint top, on a positive note for us our long standing rivals Alianza are all way back in 9th.

Good luck, South America is fun to play, I had a enjoyable save in Bolivia with Club Aurora but bitterly regretted leaving to move to Argentina when Racing came knocking.

Anyway, good start, that stadium looks pretty spectacular with the steep sides and mountains nearby!

March 2023:

image.png.c8bf9f6ee23a74948eb7464d64469e7b.png

Saw the bad form continue and high scoring game vs Union Comercio had everyone on the edge of the seats as we grinded out a victory. After our 2-1 defeat in the Sudamerica prelims vs fellow Peruvian side Cesar Vellejo, the prize money for exiting this early is 200k.

Top 6: With the bad form we almost dropped out the top 6.

The begining of March also saw the transfer window shut.

Our ins:

The 2 frees were goalkeepers, the loan from Hearts was a 1 month loan

Mayta comes in as 3rd choice keeper.

high scoring games and much better form return to the side this month, this helps us move back towards the top of the table. Also Alianza Lima move into the top 6 for first time this season

A massively disapointing result vs Cusco who over both halfs absolutely dominated us in our own ground.

image.png.1c6083cf653d8e2a6c2bee2560ab8ef3.png

Cusco seem to be the team to beat this stage aswell.

Lets look at the full overall table for this season so far

Looking good fo a top 3 finish, though id be annoyed if a 3rd place were to happen

Saw us go undefeated, but those two 0-0 draws are defiantly hurting any chance at the title this season - both in closing stages and overall

top 6 in closing stage

Cusco are really looking too strong right now

Mixed form in the remainig closing stages, saw us finish second as I wanted after Cusco dominating

image.png.bb56f7ae33d32a446314cc1689437338.png

After finishing 2nd in both opening and closing - we seemed to go into a semi final vs the opening stage champions, the winner would face Cusco, but we lost both ties to Cesar Vallejo 5-3 on agg

image.png.3ee35a84924166b1ab031c627cfd7297.png

Annoyingly we finished 2nd overall, by a narrow margin

image.png.f4ed1852557b94a11a02beada7e195db.png

Player performance wise I was very happy with the high goals and assists coming from all over the pitch. Edison Flores will be missed if we are unable to get him to return next season

image.png.d2e98645e38a4b9c87a052bb0c60576a.png

Cesar won the playoff final 6-2 on agg.

in the honours list, we are awarded with a third place finish for 2023. -
