Improvement's to my 433

Recommended Posts

I've been using a 433 strikerless tactic that is intended to maintain possession and create chances. I've used it for at least 10 games now and can happily say that we consistently get above 60%+ possession, with a very strong defensive record. However, I still believe that it is lacking something, as I sometimes struggle to create chances and have yet to win against the stronger sides with this tactic.

In what way can I change the tactic to maintain high possession but improve the chances created? I don't mind a change in formation (ideally 4 at the back).

I would consider not running a formation with Shadow Strikers instead of Strikers (even if they are facilitating 9's...such as the F9).

The AI is not really able to handle it and you won't get realistic outcomes to your possession based approach.

You have everyone narrow -- two IFs and two IWBs -- and a narrow width. You could use overlapping wingbacks or wingers in the mix (I prefer the former and TAA/AR are both excellent for that role).

If you want a traditional 4-3-3 with goalscoring AML/AMR players then use a F9 in the middle and have the IF(a) attack towards the middle. They will produce goals, but your striker will probably disappoint. I find they get punished by harsh match ratings and then sink into performance-induced "poor form."
