Suggestion, New Reputaion System

Recommended Posts

At the moment, I think the reputation system is too one-dimensional.
Play 10-20 seasons and almost all Premier League clubs have a reputation of continental or worldwide, which is rubbish because if you constantly end up somewhere in midfield, you won't develop that much traction.
That's why I thought about how you could possibly solve that and make it more attractive.

- National reputation:
Should be determined by how successful a club has been in its history.
And in which league it has been playing for how long.

- International reputation:
Should be determined by how successful a club is internationally and whether it regularly plays internationally.

For national and international reputation, you could also include different levels such as bronze, silver and gold. This would give you more leeway to separate a top club like Bayern München from a 3rd division club. And so you also have leeway for clubs that were very successful in the past but whose last title was decades ago, such as HSV or Borussia M'gladbach.

- Sponsor attractiveness:
Could be reflected by the size of the national as well as international Fan base. In other words, what reach a club has. A system similar to that used for scouting could also be introduced, reflecting the club's popularity in the respective countries or regions.

- Sporting attractiveness:
It is determined by how good the squad is, the training facilities and whether you are successful or not.

- Financial attractiveness:
How many financial resources you have and what the projections are over the next 5 years or so.

- Youth appeal:
Is the club known for turning young players into top stars.
And possibly also the average age of the first team
My other suggestion of the "International Academies" could also be used here.

Then you could also bring different player interests into play, e.g. someone who wants to earn money with football could favor clubs with high financial attractiveness.

A player who wants to win trophies would be more likely to choose a club with a high sporting appeal. A 19-year-old top talent would rather go to a club that is attractive for youth players because he has a good chance of developing further there.

Of course, these different aspects should be dynamic, but don't make unrealistic leaps if you win the Prem once out of nowhere, then you are far from being a top European club, but if you win the Prem three times in a row + good results internationally, you could expect a big leap or if you secure back to back Promotions.
Because that is very rare to archive except you are Wrexham, Ulm or Münster xD
But that also works the other way round. In a save, for example, a club that is very successful today could be a fallen giant in 10 years' time.
