Its time for another FM24 save.

And like the previous years...I want to finish the game with a MLS save. :brock:

OregonTrail.thumb.jpg.2cedd32e1419a5fa5bba465acf059f06.jpg

This is the Oregon trail.

The most famous emigriant trail from the East to the West.

Spoiler

The Oregon Trail was a 2,170-mile (3,490 km)[1] east–west, large-wheeled wagon route and emigrant trail in the United States that connected the Missouri River to valleys in Oregon Territory. The eastern part of the Oregon Trail spanned part of what is now the state of Kansas and nearly all of what are now the states of Nebraska and Wyoming. The western half of the trail spanned most of the current states of Idaho and Oregon.

The Oregon Trail was laid by fur traders and trappers from about 1811 to 1840 and was initially only passable on foot or horseback. By 1836, when the first migrant wagon train was organized in Independence, Missouri, a wagon trail had been cleared to Fort Hall, Idaho. Wagon trails were cleared increasingly farther west and eventually reached the Willamette Valley in Oregon, at which point what came to be called the Oregon Trail was complete, even as almost annual improvements were made in the form of bridges, cutoffs, ferries, and roads, which made the trip faster and safer. From various starting points in Iowa, Missouri, or Nebraska Territory, the routes converged along the lower Platte River Valley near Fort Kearny, Nebraska Territory. They led to fertile farmlands west of the Rocky Mountains.

From the early to mid-1830s (and particularly through the years 1846–1869) the Oregon Trail and its many offshoots were used by about 400,000 settlers, farmers, miners, ranchers, and business owners and their families to get to the area known as Oregon and its surrounding counterparts. The eastern half of the trail was also used by travelers on the California Trail (from 1843), Mormon Trail (from 1847), and Bozeman Trail (from 1863) before turning off to their separate destinations. Use of the trail declined after the first transcontinental railroad was completed in 1869, making the trip west substantially faster, cheaper, and safer. Since the mid-20th century, modern highways, such as Interstate 80 and Interstate 84, follow parts of the same course westward and pass through towns originally established to serve those using the Oregon Trail.

This time we do it a little bit harder then the previous saves.

We are only allowed to sign players from the states, where the trail went through.

Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Wyoming, Idaho, Washington and Oregon

This sounds easy, but there is a big hole in the distrubution of the MLS team.

image.png.c0aa97203b0872890d7e33811b1784f0.png

There is a big hole in the North-North-West.

Only St. Louis, Seattle and Portland will produce newgens reliable.

And with the MLS restrictions those players are hard to get.

I got the USA database loaded from @themodelcitizen.

This means the USL Championship, League One, League Two and MLS Next Pro are in the game too,

Lets see how many players will get added to the pool.

image.thumb.png.43f10d3ab95dfe86bfe2a66496658de3.png

Our manager will be Ezra Meeker, an American pioneer and creater of this lovely map.

Rules:

- only sign/draft players from Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Wyoming, Idaho, Washington, Oregon

- use the foreign spot for CONCACAF talents (will try to ignore Liga MX imports)

- starter squad needs to adjusted asap

Goals

- Fun

- find and develop the best newgens

- in the end sent them to Europe

Lets see I made it hard enough this time.:D

Locklear is gettin retrained as left wingback.

Since we are playing with 3 ATB, we are allowed to retrain wingers.

I need to change his personality with some mentoring and he will be a nice option or us.

Looking forward to this save. Always enjoy your MLS saves. Please remind me, why do you want so many 1st round draft picks?

Cheers.

Because its the most fun part of playing in the MLS, thats why I value them pretty high.

The real reason is, its a reliable source to get new domestic players in.

You can not buy domestic players from other MLS clubs. Trading players domestic players is hard.

You can not poach youth players from amateur/college teams.

Only your academy will provide constant players each year.

In the MLS balancing is the key.

Without a decent group of players from spot 14-30m you will problems at some point.
