El Payaso
In my opinion international selections should change so that performances matter more than what team the player is representing. If you look at for example Italy's squad in EURO 2024, they had plenty of players from mid-table sides such as Torino. On FM it is impossible to get call-ups in the big nations' squads, even for friendlies, if the players don't represent a big team. This would take the game to more realistic direction.
BeeInExile
I think this depends heavily on the manager's preferences more than being a universal rule. I would prefer to see it as a Non-Player Tendency in the database. A higher Tendency to Pick Players from Reputable Clubs would see international managers being more likely to pick players who play for teams with high Reputation, and a low Tendency would make them more likely to ignore that factor and pick based on Current Ability.
