Improve tackling through training

Recommended Posts

Is there a way of trying to target tackling improvement in training for a player.  In the development section you can select additional focus for things like strength or def positioning and it highlights the key attributes it will focus on improving, however, there is nothing that seems to target tackling.  This is something I thought would be one of the key areas that training can actually focus on and improve in real life as you can teach someone to tackle but things like teaching say bravery is something you either have or don't.

Training sessions that improve tackling + role training will do the trick!

You're correct that this is missing from the individual training. You used to be able to select specific attributes to focus on in individual training but they are now grouped, so less scope to skew training in that sense. It is disappointing that some attributes are missing from here.

As Cloud9 says you need to focus on that attribute with the specific sessions that do target it as part of team training. Don't expect to see much of a swing in development though, the effects from different sessions are pretty negligible, which is a good thing as it is hard to get training wrong now.

Tackling is a technical attribute, which needs to be prioritized early on in development if you want to see results. Mentals improve much more easily over the course of their mid 20's.

If they're already at an advanced age then growth will be tricky here. However, you can expect significant growth w/ a decent ceiling, proper training, and starting off at a young age. You can also move the player to the defensive unit.

As always player growth is highly dependent on personality; so if you're really looking to get stuck into it...recruiting players with Determination, Professionalism, and Ambition will be essential.
