Manager Vacancy - Declare Interest In Job... Does it help or hinder?

When a manager vacancy comes up that you apply for (and you really, really, really want), does it help or hinder your chances to Declare Interest In Job?

in my view i think it hinders...i have no real idea but if you declare your interest i think it would then alert other prospective intrested partys in the job and subsequently apply for it...so if its a job that i really want and have intrest in i just apply for it and deny it all

I have no idea whether it helps or hinders either but I'm assuming that if you Declare Interest then there must be some impact and possible fallout.

oh if your doing really well at your current club then they might get a bit annoyed. i have had an instance playing as basel manager i declared interest then the next moment i get pulled in front of the board and kicked out the door. it depends on the club that your at i would think and what you promised and agreed to

When I'm unemployed and applying for multiple jobs, I declare interest in some and not others. It doesn't appear to make much difference, although you do open yourself to humiliation at the public rejections. In interviews, I always get asked why I'm prostituting myself at all and sundry; however, I get offered the job anyway!

I'm currently managing Viking in Eliteserien (Norway top flight) and have just applied for the Norway Job after the previous Norway manager stepped down after the European Championships.

Yeah, when I get asked that in interviews I always use the "I'm exploring my options" answer.

How long have you been at Viking how successful have you been? what was vikings response to you applying and who is currently the favourite for the job..even if it says you they might just go for someone else anyway

I'd say I've had a pretty successful time at Viking.

you have been pretty successful i would say that maybe you might be the favourite but then again with this game you never know
