ron.e
How important is this stat in 09. In fm08 it didn't seem to make much of a difference. What about in 09? Thanks
CHARLIERODD
Positioning is the key 'off the ball' stat for defenders. off the ball is mainly for attackers.

ron.e
I'm asking this because for the first time i've seen a dc with an off-the-ball stat of 13, so i wondered if that made him any better.
Joor
Off the Ball is the player’s movement without the ball. Similar to Anticipation, this is how well a player, particularly attacking ones, can assess a situation and then move off the ball, making themselves available to receive a pass in a dangerous position. Its not important for central defenders. You should look for anticipation, concentration and positioning.
