Instability post competitive dominance

For those of you who have managed to create dominant clubs who win multiple back to back titles (ie 5+), do events ever transpire to challenge that dominance?
 

I’m referring to things like board takeovers resulting in your finances suddenly dropping and having to lose key players, getting (unfairly at some times) sacked out of the blue, or tycoons within other clubs in your league suddenly creating another competitive threat?

I’d like to think that it’s not just simply a matter of creating a dominant side, and then steamrolling the competition forever. Thanks!
