Danny Boshell Final Score: Wycombe Wanderers 1 Holligan (7) Oldham Athletic 1 Samba (21) Att: 5,122 Ref: Mr.K.Hill MOM: Cherno Samba Oldham Evening Chronicle: Oldham Fail to Make Chances Count Two points dropped for Oldham today as they dominated this clash. It was Wycombe who took the lead early on, a mistake from Haining let Holligan in and clear, he calmly placed the ball past Pogliacomi. At this point Oldham woke up and started to pressurise the Wycombe defence. Vernon had a couple of chances in close succession. Oliver had to come off with an injury for Wycombe, he was replaced with Chris Vinnicombe. Moments later the scores were level. A nicely worked move saw Vernon cross and debutant Cherno Samba volleyed home. Oldham continued to pressure and another few chances happened before the end of the half, Oldham should have easily been ahead by now. At half time O'Halloran was knackered and he was replaced with Boshell. After the break Oldham continued where they had left off with Eyre and Samba going close. Wycombe then got into the game more but found Pogliacomi in unbeatable form. Midway through the half Vernon got clear of the defence but was caught and hacked down by Johnson. As he was the last man he had to go and rightly so. Wycombe down to ten men, surely Oldham would go on to win. More clear cut chances were made but nothing was going in. Killen replaced Vernon late on and he himself missed an easy chance to win it. It just wasn't Oldham's day. It ended 1-1 but a good performances after a long break. Manager's Comments: I cannot believe how we didn't win that game, we had so many chances and we played Wycombe off the park. We were guilty of missing some clear chances. The performance was great but it didn't reflect in the result. Cherno had a superb debut, he always looked a threat and managed to score as well. I'm sure he can keep it up. Leyton Orient say no to buying Danny Boshell as they feel they have better options in the squad. Darlington chairman George Reynolds has sacked Mick Tait and are now looking for a new manager. Chesterfield sign Chris Senior from Scarborough for £3k.
