Guide to League Structures?

Posted this in the PC General Forum but might be better off here……

I remember back in CM days there used to be a poster came with the game which showed all the Playable Leagues, the League Structures, Promotion/Relegation etc etc.

Does such a thing exist now? Either on official site or on a fan site?

I’m looking to swap Scotland with a league structure of around 168 teams and was looking for something similar so I can select an appropriate nation. I don’t want to use England as I want to play with it running as well.

Ideally:

There are Two (or Three) National Leagues with Regional Leagues feeding into them

The league would be “closed”, i.e. no relegation from the bottom division of the pyramid.

It would be an EU Nation

Any help, guidance, ideas?

Turkish has a nice structure, with two main tiers and a third tier separated in 5 groups, no long december/january break, although it's not "closed". I don't think this sort of thing exists among leagues in FM (MLS is the only closed).

I also tried to use Belgian league structure, which is very nice. But from 2009/10 first tier changes and the champion is the winner of a minichampionship with 6 best teams.

Yeah Spain looks like the one to use. I looked at Brazil, but their 3rd flight is drastically reduced next season. And I believe there's a bug with Serie C2 in Italy.

So Spain............

Division 1 = 20 Teams

Division 2 = 22 Teams

Division 3 = 80 Teams (4 Leagues of 20)

Total = 122

The Spanish Segunda Divisions, are these Regional? And does anyone know which area is in each of the A to D?

Initially thinking of replacing A to D with Highland, East of Scotland, West and South.

Well, Spanish Segunda Division B (not A or Division 2) is based on rules of geographic proximity, but these rules are changing every two or three years aproximately. Spanish Federation (RFEF) has the mission of changing the composition of these groups.

Thanks for that. I've begun the swaps but!

Made Scottish Comps have Spanish nationality and vice versa.

Loaded my db, the names and countries did not change, ie I was expecting to see the ex-Spanish structure under the Scotland leagues on the Start-Up screen?

Then I swapped Real Madrid and Aberdeen, these appear in the swapped league now, but the league names/structures are as original.

Any ideas what i've done wrong?
