steviejay
Has anyone worked out a way of getting the best out of this guy? I signed him for around 12million for my Rangers team and he's incredibly hot and cold. Yes he's my top goal scorer with 9 in 20 in the league but his average rating is awful, he tends to end up at around 5.5-6.5 every game. At the moment I play him in partnership in a 4-4-2 strike force but that didn't seem to work so I tried a 4-4-1-1 and still he's not exactly beaming with confidence. Any ideas? Snoop Robbie Rob
Strikers always seem to have low ratings, the best rating players seem to be centre-halves and full backs. As for Gomis, I'm unsure, have you tried varying ways of using him as a target man?
Drinky_08
What are his best stats? Is he isolated upfront? Are the players around him giving him the right kind of support? These are the three most important things to look at imo. If he is tall with good jumping and heading make sure you have good wingers getting crosses in. Play down the wings and set the target man setting to head. Or if your wingers are poor play a 4-3-3 with 3 FC, have your team play direct looking for him to get knock downs and feed your other two strikers. If he has a good first touch, passing, long shots and technique then look to bring him deep and link the play sending through balls for a faster striker or using the space to turn and shoot. If he has great pace, acceleration, off the ball and finishing look to get him to beat the offside trap with through balls coming from a FCd or AMs. But these have limits aswell, if its a short pitch then his speed isn't going to be of use. A narrow one will mean its harder for wingers to have an effect and if the other team plays with a DM its harder for him to find space in the hole. Find out what he's best at and use him like that to make sure he can affect a game. Thats why its best to have several options when it comes to strikers/tactic, so you can maximise your oppents weaknesses.
zebanumut
İ'm using 4-4-2 and my strikers are all normal(mixed whatever) and they are scoring around 15-20,no target man no other thing
Joey170
At Villarreal he was so poor for me, I signed him for £14m and sold him 1 year later for £3.5m, I tried him in a number of different striking positions but none of them paid off. His stats are very good but he under performs. For that reason I bought Vagner Love and he couldn't stop scoring
jack_man
He was useless for my second season everton team bought him for 12mil sold for 20mil
asyraf91
same goes for me. he is extremely inconsistent for me.
steviejay
He likes to 'move into channels', 'shoot with power', and try to beat the offside track. I mean don't get me wrong, he does score but he hasn't scored in the last 5 so was wondering how I can give him a good kick up the erse.
steviejay
I've found a good way to make him start scoring. Spend another ten million on a striker. Playing Gomis / Boyd combo didn't give good results but playing a Gomis / Briand partnership tends to be..... well.... awesome
Aquaticshoe
ive got him for celtic and i know what you mean he is definately hot and cold, but i waited a couple of seasons and hes becoming good so maybe he just needs to settle in.
Mr.Grandpa
I have him in my Newcastle squad and in his first season he was awful. he scored 6 times in 29 game. He started second season off with a bang scoring 7 in 7 but now he has scored only 4 times in 15 games last goal came from him 450 minutes ago so I'm seriously thinking of selling him as mark Hughes is always praising him. This guy has awesome stats but he just cant find the back of the net.
