What settings determine how many "clear cut" chances the opposition get?

I've tweaked my tatic, and I score more now, but in the last two games the opposition has had 13 clear cut chances!

What can I do to stop this? I play a 4-1-2-1-2

closing down? marking? how hard your tackling is? what the mentality throughout your team is? think of it in normal football terms, where how and why do your opponents find space to have a clear cut chance

make sure the amc does his fair share of defending otherwise the opposition will outnumber your dmc and easily pass around him

My thoughts are this-

Closing down - The more attacking a player is, the more closing down he should do?

Tackling - Im not too sure, I used to set all my outfield players tackling to medium/hard and the defenders to easy. As I dont want to give away free kicks around my penalty area.

Erm, and why do my defenders always crowd to one player leaving too much space for crosses?

Example, a winger is running on the counter, Zapata, Thaigo Silva and Chellini are chasing him, leaving Vucnic free in the are to score?

spotted one problem, you got tackling the wrong way round. Defenders go hard while forwards go easy.
