Upupup II
I'm playing as Sunderland, and with Gokan(sp?) Zan and Anton Ferdinand mainly in the middle, but they are getting caught out by the long and through ball, allowing a fast striker to go one-on-one with the keeper. In two games, I've been ripped to shreds by Cousin and Defoe. To make matters worse, I haven't played the PC version for four years. Any ideas on how to combat this problem? Anderrrrrrson-son-son
I don't no what tactics your using, but would guess you have your defenders pushing up. I would suggest using a deeper back line to combat the pace of fast strikers.
Clarky10
When playing a longer pitch, that would allow strikers to run on to balls, play a much deeper line and even have your keeper as a sweeper type so if anything does go over the top when playing a deep line he will collect or get rid off. To your problem with through balls, if you know the opponent will play through balls you may have to play a DMC or even 2 to stop their midfielders from being able to pass it. Also you should have your midfield and defenders closing down setting a little lower as this will not allow space in behind for the player to pass. What formation are you playing anyway.
