Moneyball & the search for bargains in FM09

I've just reread "Moneyball" by Michael Lewis. It is about how the Oakland Athletics of Major League Baseball used a statistical model different from the rest of baseball to find bargain players and the success they achieved with the method. Basically, the general manager (Director of Football) found statistics that were vital in predicting the success of a prospect that were different from the usual. In footballing terms, he discounted pace, power hitting and contact, among other attributes, and concentrated on undervalued aspects of a player's ability that he could then buy cheaply and sell at a profit.

I'm struggling to find a corolary in in FM09. I don't know if the game provides enough stats to offer anything undervalued. I think it might be possible to use the attributes, however.

Which attributes do you feel the AI undervalues when evaluating talent? Can they be used to build a superior team at a lesser cost?

Your thoughts....
