roooonaldooo
Just joined the boro from dominating serie A with inter thought a new change in 2013. So far brought in delph, upson, edwards, convey and this striker which i have forgotten. Best players are wheater and cattermole with lennon looking good. Need to improve left back and striker. Any opinions?
Lisandro Lopez
Being 2013 I think your best bet is newgens/regens roooonaldooo. Can you post a screenshot of your current squad? Downing still there? Or Johnson?
Paulverine
Just started a season with Boro and the fixture list has been kind enough to throw up the top seven teams in my first nine games, and I'm now perilously perched above the relegation zone. I've sold on Pogagtetz, Mido, Jones and Turnbull £9M and reinvested in Leo (GK), Thiago Silva (DC) and Falcao (FC) for £13.5M. Got Juan Pablo Angel and Guillermo Giacomazzi on the cheap as cover, but the less sais about them the better ... Hopefully I will now turn my fortunes around with a run of "must-win" games. Well, at least that's like real life - every game's a "must win" for the Boro these days. A problem I'm having is getting the best out of either O'Neill or Digard. Any hints? george94
Great signings there mate. What position are you playing Digard and O'Neill in?
Paulverine
I'm playing Shawky as the defensive midfielder role and either Digard or O'Neill or as attacking centre mid (both CMs, not DM/ACM). Giving the role a fair amount of attacking freedom but neither Digard or O'Neill is rating more than 6.8 so far this season.
george94
I'd play Digard at DM, and maybe try Shawky at CM, not sure about O'Neill tbh, he should be playing in the attacking CM role though.
Paulverine
Yep, I've just moved to using DM and AM instead with great effect :-) This is the first time I've bought Silva, he looks really solid. Falcao is proving to be quite injury prone but scores whenever he does play!
Paulverine
Any advice on who to go for as a left back? Needs to be four/five star, not interested in potential players but someone who can come in and add to the squad, I currently have Taylor and Grounds. Just about to hit the January transfer window of the first season and could raise at the most about £4M. I know Razvan Rat's available at £2.7M and he's ok, anyone got any better ideas? Can you not play Hoyte there? You could perhaps try Stephen Warnock, Jeremy Mathieu or Paulo de Ceglie from Juve. Or maybe Miguel Torres or Marcelo on loan. If these players are all unavailable you could just go with Razvan Rat tbh.
miguel_zarabulo
I found my first 2 seasons with Boro hard but i've found buying young talent like rafael carioca and feghouli are the best way to go. I've just changed my tactics to a 4-2-3-1 using AM's. Found it makes the most of the pace within the side. Currently in 2nd 1 point behind Everton with 22 games played in the 3rd season. Also make the most of sturridge and bojan being on frees at the end of the 1st season
Paulverine
Just started season two, I've sold Thiago on for £16M to Arsenal (£10mill profit) and given the squad a lot of depth. playing 442 diamond: Leo Franco Francois Clerc, Robert Huth, David Wheater, Guilherme Didier Digard Gary O'Neill Stew Downing Marvin Emnes Afonso Alves, Falcao I've scouted a lot and out of all the players I've bought to reinforce the squad, the following young 'uns look particularly good: Willians Santana Sercan Yilderim Franco Zuculini Jonathan Cristaldo
chris_dcfc
Started as the Boro' as I wanted a challenge as it has worked perfectly, after 15 games I'm second in the league behind Man Utd by 1 point. Brought in some quality players and off-loaded alot of 'deadwood'. Transfers In: Jozy Altidore 4.2 Million - Has been a real gem for me. Bogdan Lobont - 2.1 - Backup currently. Guillermo Francisco Ochoa - 2.8 - Has been a star. Andriy Nesmachyi - 1.4 - Got him as a replaced for Potegaz and has been quality. Lincoln - 5 - No words but Woah! Borja Oubina -3 - Solid Transfers Out: Mido - 4.6 Million to West Brom Brad Jones - 1.2 - Wolfsburg Gary O'Neil - 5 - Stoke Playing a simple 4-4-2 and use Lincoln as the playmaker. Good luck! pooman2279
joined at end of first season after southgate sacked and relegation. Got 15 million to spend. Any decent suggestions? Also what patch? if on 9.2.0 try Paulo Ferreria (you know, the Chelsea one, shocking spelling ) if he hasn't already moved last season as he was solid for me on my Man City save. Also, try Bernardo from some brazilian team. Has a minimum fee release of about 1.7m and becomes amazing. Maybe Rafael Carioca for 3m minimum fee release? Rochemback_Boro
Just started my career game with Boro on 9.3.0 Transfers In: Enyeama - £250k Emerson - £675k - Milan Mota - £2.1m Appiah - Free Daniel Parejo - £4k (!) - Real Madrid Tranfers out: Aliadiere - £3m - Sheffield United Shawky - £1.5m - Fulham Brad Jones - £2.1m - Benfica Chris Riggot - £1.5m - Sunderland Strongest team. Enyeama Hoyte Wheater Huth Pogatetz Digard Emerson Mota Tuncay Downing Alves I'm just approaching the January transfer window and need to invest as i have a decent budget built up. Would like a new left back and another central defender. Desperately fending off bids for Tuncay and Downing, mainly from Aston Villa! Best performers are Tuncay, Downing, Wheater and Enyeama. Guest TheScottishHero
Hey guys. In my second season with Boro, after avoiding the drop im now sitting in 8th, just got beat in the FA cup by United, 5-3 after extra time, gutted! Ive found the besy way to keep success is no matter what dont sell your stars, ive sold Downing/Mido/Alliadiare/Shawky from the original team to bolster my funds and get rid of the 'bad apples' but ive used it to purchase wisely. Im over performing at the moment and currently 3 points behind 5th place (in March). Team (4-4-2) as follows - Foster Hoyte/Dianak (spelling?)/Wheater/Silvestre Beckham/Digard/Montgomery/Albin (star player) Ashton/Fleck Subs - Brad Jones C Berra S Maloney T Huddelstone S Parker Ismeal..something. I forget his name, in the library not as my desk. G O Neill Josh Walker (the young chap) Team may look odd, Ashton was bought to fight relegation but he's on 16 goals for the season and AC Milan and the Pool have been sniffing, Fleck has been outstanding, a very slow start saw him not score last season, this season he's on 15 with 10 assists. Got Bojan coming in this summer with Carlos Vela just sold in January. Pushing to stay in the top 10, fairly nervous about next season, ive definitly performed above expectations (tipped to be relegated no less!) and feel the board will ask for Europe. Guest TheScottishHero
Well, summer transfer window has come and gone and im nearing Jan. New line up is.. Foster Martin Jiranek/Pape Diakhate, Sebastien Faure (Or Wheather, not sure yet)/Gallas (or Silvestre...) Ismael Bangoura/Tom Huddelstone/Didier Digard/Juan Angel Albin Bojan/John Fleck Subs - Brad Jones Wheather (or Faure) Silvestre (or Gallas) N Montgomery (Honestly a class act, great defensive mid) David Beckham Fernando Forestieri Dean Ashton I also have J Hoyte/C Berra/S Parker/S Maloney/ J Walker/ A Johnson who rotate in for games. Van Der Vaart coming in January for 900k.

aldo1987
Right finally started a game with Boro last night, didnt realise i would only get £2.6m transfer budget (top half finish) Ins and Outs As you can see ive massively invested in youth and only signed a handful of what you would class as first team players, tried to get delph and mattock butb were quoted ridiculous prices So far so good results wise

tomvilla
First and Second seasons were fairly average- came 9th and 10th. Pretty much sold all of my squad and raised about £80 million. I was shocked at how clubs would pay for players if you set the price fairly high. For example Alves £11.25m, Tuncay £8.25, Mido £5m Hoyte £4.3m Pogatez £4.3m, O'Neil and Arca £5m Riggott £4m Degard £8m Huth £6m....the list goes on really. That was all a bit to easy for my liking. So in these two seasons brought in loads of players. Third season came 3rd Fourth season 1st Prem, quarter finals of the Champions League and won the League Cup. Surprised how easy it was and slightly annoyed how my buying power was increased so quickly. For example Aguero came to me in the fourth season. If anyone wants screenshots, just let me know and I will learn how to do it !

tomvilla
Adam Johnson doesn't turn out amazing- i sold him for three million. I kept Downing and he always played ahead of him. Ferrosol
After the first season In Hamad Namouchi RW 2.1 Million (Tunisian International Ever present on the right wing and best transfer of the season) Bogdan Lobont GK 1.6m (also everpresent as first team goalie) Ola Touven AM/FC 6.5m (Brought in in January from PSV as a replacement for Tuncay, Nothing special) Out Tuncay 8m (To Everton in January after a meh 3 months at the start of the season.) Staff Malcolm Crosby sacked as assistant manager, Replaced with Peter Beardsley Finished 14th in the premier league and made it to the final of the FA cup before being stuffed by Man Utd Plans for next season: Get in some decent coaches to replace all the crap ones who were on short contracts, A new left back to replace Poggy a new attacking mid to replace O'Neill, try and clear out some of the deadwood (shawky, riggot, arca, bates crappy youth/reserve players) maybe a better striker to act as a backup/partner for alves. Maybe invest in youth if I can find any decent players

jamtheman123
finally cracked a game with the boro were i wasnt sacked by december. as someone mentioned earlier the best option is to replace everyone but wheater and downing (digard has done the business for me though). Right winger, keeper and strikers i found were a priority as i was at one point third in the league first season with a negative gd. transfers on 9.2 were In skjelbred 2.3 kightly 3.5 mosquera 1.8 rat 2.4 lewandowski 900k labont 1.4 (must buy, fantastic gk) out mido 5 oneil 7 riggott 3 pogatetz 4 and a lot of reserve players for about 4 m overall struggled for goals but backline was solid as a rock and i was 5th in january. Signed paloschi in jan but he performed as poorly as all the other strikers. Went on a typical boro post christmas slump and lost 8 on the bounce and finished in what i considered a disappointing 10th. Cant recommend lobont and mosquera enough, rat won player of the year and felt positive about next season as i got a ridiculous budget of 34m for next season (anyone else get this???) Bought cardozo, guillherme (left back), acosta on a cheap 2m and sakho coming for 12m in january. 8 games in and Downing starting to really kick into gear, cardozo smashing in goals from every which way and paloschi and lewandowski even grabbing a few. Currently sat in 5th place and feeling pretty positive bout the future. Thankfully alves is going along with a few others in january to balance the books

ChinoMoreno
Into my second season now, building a fairly potent team, just needs a year to mature and got into Europe first attempt, then they gave me 40m to spend in the second. 08/09 In's: John Fleck - 2.2m Davide Santon - 1.2m Ochoa - 6.5m P/E (Brad Jones) Kikin Fonseca - 1.7m Mota - 1m Oguchi Onyewu - 1.4m Stephen Appiah - Free Franco Zucillini - 210k Razvan Rat - 1m P/E Nicolas N'Koulou - 7.5m Guilherme - 7.5m 09/10 In's: John Bostock - 1m Daniel Sturridge - Free Emiliano Insua - 5.75m Kerrison 15m Lorik Cana - 7m Paulo Ferrari - 7m Out - more or less everyone apart from Wheater/Downing/Digard. First team looks like: ----------Ochoa-------------- Ferrari-Wheater-N'Koulou-Insua Mota--Cana--Digard---Downing ---Guilherme--Keirrison--------
jamtheman123
Finished second season in 9th place but got to finals of both cups and won the FA. Foster on a free from ma utd proved shrewd though acosta coulnt oust kightly all season. Cardozo stopped scoring mid season and had another bad slump after january so disappointing end i reckoned. For third season signed laurito on a free and xabi alonso for 24m. Pre season was quality and think i can finsih higher again while having a few cup runs. Reckon it might take a few more years to challenge for title though... team is Foster Hoyte(no idea why i havent signed a right back yet!) Wheater Sakho Guillherme Kightly Digard Alonso Downing Cardozo Paloschi( now a wonderkid and AC bidding in the 20s for him) Reckon its only a matter of time before paloschi has to be sold, same for sakho unless i can have a great season so keeping my eyes open for good english regens
deejay10
Whats the point of playing as Boro if you just sell off everyone apart from Wheater and Downing ? Might as well play as another team and buy those two! With that much money from selling deadwood, you could just buy yourself a great side, that would challenge for all the top honours in just 1-2 seasons. Me personally, I would get bored of that game very quickly. Much more satisfying using some of that Boro youth, but each to their own!
jamtheman123
Third season saw further improvement in the league, with a 7th place finish including a lovely 5-0 spanking of newcastle on the final day. Cardozo and paloschi were outstanding, and with only one signing i was pretty impressed with the league position. Spent 10m on a reading youngster who is already better than hoyte at only 16 and was surprised that i managed to hold on to the likes of paloschi and sakho. Injuries alone prevented me from finishing higher, with alonso and cardozo both missing the run in which left me stranded in uefa and fa cups. team is now Foster (akinfeev signing on in december) Sampson (Regen) Sakho Wheater Gullherme Franks (showed remarkable improvements and now keeping out kightly) Digard Alonso Downing Cardozo (laurito pshing on tho) Paloschi Finally have some decent players in youth this year with a CB with potential to be sakho-esque and a DM to be one of the best. In response to your comment deejay10 i actually agree that it would be better if u could make it purely on boro talent, and as a fan thats what i would like to do. However the team is useless bar downing digard and wheater tbh and i didnt get any good youngsters till this season so my choice was bring in new players and wait for good english lads to start coming through or get relegated.
