football_master_94
Wijnaldum is a very hot prospect for the future and he has become a forum favourite ever since he his appearence in FM 08 and is a must buy for your team. This thread is all about the skillful Dutchman. Georginio Wijnaldum Georginio Wijnaldum (born November 11, 1990) is a professional Dutch footballer, who plays for Feyenoord where he has a contract until 2010. Wijnaldum is one of the most promising talents to come out of the Feyenoord youth system in modern times. He made his debut in a Eredivisie game against FC Groningen on April 8, 2007. Despite Feyenoord losing 0-4 he played well, and he was crowned Feyenoord's man of the match in that game. Georginio's meteoric rise to first-team football started in January 2007 when he was invited to a soccer camp with Feyenoord's first-team squad. The camp was held in Turkey and Feyenoord were participating in the EFES Pilsen Cup. Erwin Koeman, the former manager of Feyenoord, knew of Wijnaldum's talents and presumably acted to include him in the camp. Wijnaldum played his first competitive match against FC Groningen because Royston Drenthe and Danny Buijs were suspended for the game and Sebastián Pardo, Theo Lucius and Nicky Hofs were injured. Georginio was 16 years and 148 days old when he made his debut, making him the youngest player ever for Feyenoord. Neopherus
For me, he's backup on both wings in United, and scoring goals like Ronaldo used to do. He has a knack for being at the right place at the right time. When I bought him, my fans went wild, so there is something special about him
football_master_94
Hehe, do you play him in the less important matches eg. Carling Cup etc.
BobMUFC08
Few of my mates played against him in an international youth tournement a year or so ago:D They said he basically walked the ball though them
Neopherus
Hehe, do you play him in the less important matches eg. Carling Cup etc. I play him in any match needing a winger His status is "squad rotation" so he gets about 10-20 games per season.
football_master_94
Thats good. how have his stats improved since the start of the game

Teezy.
I would play him MCa with them stats tbf. He is not fast enough to be a winger imo.
football_master_94
AMC imo for my formation, you could train him up abit more.
Neopherus
I tend to give him a free role, as my formation doesn't support an AMC. And as you can see in the screenshot, he does quite well. (he came on in the 70th minute in a training match, got a 7.5 and scored a goal )
football_master_94
He's got the good stats for the winger but i feel he needs a 15/16 in pace and acceleration to be a really good winger
Neopherus
Which is why he isn't my first choice But I really don't care too much about stats, I look at performance, and in my book, he does quite well
football_master_94
Fair enough, couldn't argue with that as i believe in the same

football_master_94
I have decided to sign him in the August transfer window in my 2nd season as CSKA Moscow boss
Management
I had him as rotating winger with Ashley Young & James Milner at Villa in my first season... Early in my second Carew was injured long term, I had sol Gabbie in January and Harewood wasn't performing.. I played him up front and he's now a starting ST alongside Hulk 5 goals in 8 appearances isn't too bad for a Natural AMC I have also trained him so he's now accomplished as an FC, AML, AMR, MC, MR, ML & is currently unconvincing as a DM (hoping to improve )
Since95
He seems weak in the photo, look at his arm How much did he cost you? I think there must be better choices to transfer for one who needs a player for one position.
bluebirds4life
Signed him for Celtic for 2.5m very consistent and stats are going up and up.
andy2610
Just signed him for Newcastle in 2nd season for £2.2m - hoping will develop into a qualtiy midfielder who can play across the park.
Newton
Planning to sign him in the Jan window of the first season for my wolves side and play him down the left. Is that a good idea? I've got stephen hunt playing there atm...
Welshace
he'll be great for cover tbh.... can play well all across the line until he's improved.. and stephen hunt is pretty damn good down the left line anyway tbh
Newton
cheers for that mate, gonna try and sign him up, play him in the middle maybe?
Magnakai Haaskivi
Dammit. I knew he was good when my scout came back with the reports; I've been trying to get him for two seasons now, but he just went to Rangers and I think his wages are going to be well outside of Switzerland's range. Ty
right i dont want to sound stupid lol, but.. didnt he have a acceleration and pace of 20/20 in FM08? because im sure he did, reason i bought him every time? im totally confused, because surely they wouldnt put his pace and acceleration down that much :O
