Attacking and defending tactics in one.

Is it possible to have two tactics in one? A defending and attacking tactic. Say for instance if I was using a 442 and when I defended, I wanted one of my strikers to drop back into midfield to help out but when we attack he plays high up the field, is this possible? And I might want to adjust my width while defending too without having to change the whole tactic each time by going into the tactic menu. Is there a way to do this? Or is it not possible?

You could try give the first FC a high mentality but set him to man mark one of the AIs MC and assign a lower mentality to the second one and also give him a lower closing down setting but lots of fwruns.. As for the other question, No you cant use one width slider in attack and one in defense but by playing about the middle of the width slider and focus your passing down the flanks, giving your wingers instructions to cross from byline you will be wide in attack whilst still playing more narrow in defense
