SI Staff Marc Vaughan Posted March 28, 2009 SI Staff Share Posted March 28, 2009 If you cancel all the friendlies then you may find that your players aren't as match fit at the start of the season - so be warned, in the main this will simply mean that they'll tire a little more toward the end of matches - but its something you'll need to take into consideration (either by possibly upping your training a little in the off-season to account for it) or by easing off a little more during matches, doing subs for the more tired players during those matches. St.Dazzle
I find cancelling friendlies doesn't have any affect. They can be useful to boost players morale if you hammer an easy team though. I now cancel all international friendlies to get through the season quicker too!
drobbo12
i just go on holiday for a day to avoid them
bugle
I use them like Mark said, like in real life, to give players some match time ahead of the season. Have yet to use the feature on FMH, although I used to cancel some on the PC version because they were too close together or too close to the Charity Shield etc. This doesn't happen on FMH because they're a week apart at the start of the season and any that clash with Charity Shield just get automatically cancelled anyway.
