Innawerkz
Here is a guy that I was considering for a Defensive Midfielder and/or a Central Defender for my team. However, his decision making is truly horrible. That said, I really like his 'Headers and Jumping and see him dominating the air in front of my nets or goal kicks to my half. I wanted your opinions: Here is the scouting report: werkz

Innawerkz
what level team are you managing? Mexican First Division. Is there another more 'formal' indication of my level?
xander
for the mexican first division, id say definetely go for it, and accordin to fm, he's only just reached the age brackt where he fulfills his max potential
Sobek
Think he'd make a decent, no nonsense CB. apart from decision making he's still mentally strong; good anticpation, postioning etc put him on no ttb's and get him to hoof the ball. and brace yourself for the odd mistake

I'm worried that his Decision making will expose me at the back, so I was thinking it might be best to play him at the DMC so he had a bit of a safety net to work with... put him on no ttb's and get him to hoof the ball. and brace yourself for the odd mistake Hahah... exactly. heathxxx
I would personally take the reports into account. Going by what the report says, he's only a "decent" signing. He would also be rated as "the 4th best" at your club. Compare him to your existing players to see if you think he's any better, given the tactics you currently or want to employ. Otherwise, his determination and work rate is superb, plus his teamwork isn't too bad either. Handy attributes for any player.
Suge
I think he is a very decent CB. His mental attributes aren't too great but he has all the right stats to be a good, strong CB. The main things you are looking for in a defender are positioning, jumping, heading, tackling, marking, strength, bravery and aggression.

One is my team captain who is truly a great player in the league. He has 11 teams interested in signing him. The other two are my Left backs. One is more of a defensive specialist and plays best at DL while the other is versatile enough to play as a ML, DL, MC and DMC at Natural levels. I usually keep him as my sub since he allows me so much flexibility in one player. This guy would allow me a bit more depth at either DC or DMC that my squad doesn't have now at a decent price. ($775,000 Transfer) TBH, it's the report that made me second guess myself. It's what made me ask for other opinions.

DMC, as u said, no point risking it by playing him at the back.
senorcoo
I think it also matters as to how much he will cost. If he's a free transfer, then definitely as you can always sell him on after if he makes too many back-breaking mistakes.

Glenn Wakeford
who is he? Player naming is not for GD. If you want to discuss who it is, use the Good Player & Team Guide forum (unless it's a regen).
Innawerkz
who is he? Marco Antonio Palacios If he's a free transfer, then definitely as you can always sell him on after if he makes too many back-breaking mistakes It was all for naught... I went to sign him last night. Made the offer, put the Transfer right between what my scout suggested (between 750K & 1.1M). Then my Assistant informs me that news of the transfer got out. Almeria swoops in AFTER my offer is made and was able to pick him up on a Bosman!! I couldn't for some reason. I'm not sure how they were able to acquire him like that and I had to offer close to $1 million - just to get denied anyway! Do different transfer rules apply from different countries? Pretty sure they're based in Brazil. Contract rules are different even when crossing borders? Thanks for all the opinions anyway.

[/b] I don't usually quote & bump myself, but I am genuinely interested in some form of an explanation from the 'contractually educated' on this board who know how Almeira was able to get this player without paying a transfer fee where I had to offer one and still negotiate a contract on top of that. Administrators Neil Brock Posted April 23, 2009 Administrators Share Posted April 23, 2009 I can't understand personally how you play with a skin which shows the players attributes like that. With the background being the colour it is, I can barely make them out!

I tried adapting to it, but eventually conceded and copied the 'Ability Stars' from a different skin into this ones Icon folder. I like the 'bar rating' style, but they are too small to read in a flash. He is rated as a three star player.
