  1. For some reason, I find this goal particularly satisfying! That entry pass from the back.. that touch (by my beloved mohawk-ed right inside forward) to beat his man.. that perfect pass to the arriving Box To Box Midfielder (19-year-old who was promoted to the starting 11 this campaign).. that first-time weak-foot finish.. :**)
  2. We have a new scout.. ..and he's pretty good as well
  3. As soon as we won the Champions League, we received a takeover.. ..it's nothing to shout about though as our budgets stayed the same
  4. Season Review 2039/2040 Football.. bloody hell! Premier League We've only gone and done it again! It should also have been more comfortable but Jansen chose to field his strongest 11 in Europe from the Champions League semis onwards and we dropped a number of points in a difficult stretch of league games against Champions League quality sides. Thankfully, the boys managed to get over the line after bagging a points total of 87 points, 2 ahead of Man United, whom we defeated in another competition too What a year we've had! Champions League The boys have also somehow gone all the way in Europe! It wasn't an easy journey as we met the likes of Barcelona and PSG along the knockout stages. Man United, our nearest title challenges in the league, was our final hurdle and we snatched the winner after our front players pressed all the way to their keeper and they lost the ball to our no. 7, who stroked the ball in! Campione, campione.. ole, ole, ole! Campione, campione.. ole, ole, ole! FA Cup It wasn't as smooth-sailing in the FA Cup though as our second stringers were knocked out away at Villa in a narrow 0-1 defeat. Carabao Cup Jansen's decision to field our youth players/third string didn't go well as we were knocked out at Sunderland in another 0-1 defeat The Finances The sponsorship and broadcast money better start to come in for the Premier League and Champions League winners soon! How You Lined Up The Champions :**) Player of the Year Our Player of the Year is also by far Jansen's best player of his tenure and the Australian was an unbelievable pick-up from Bournemouth for just 25.5 million pounds. Jimmy Cullen is club's top goal scorer and creater this campaign, finishing with an impressive 20 goals and 12 assists in 35 starts in our double-winning season. He is also the Premier League's Player and Players' Player of the Year, and is therefore our Player of the Year by a distance! Please don't ever leave us :**)
  5. Summer 2039 With both of our 1st choice 31-year-old center-backs leaving the club this summer, there was an urgent need to strengthen our central defence. The window began with us fearing the worst as there just weren't any quality center-backs out there on the market. Thankfully, on deadline day, the opportunity to bring in Rodrigo Mancilha on a loan deal arose and we snapped him up immediately. The Portuguese rarely loses concentration on the pitch and has tremendous determination to succeed at the highest level. His vast experience will be crucial in helping us plug the gaps in the central defence. Our final key addition was at right-back as our back-up right back just wasn't good enough (we got knocked out by Real Madrid in the Champions League due to his numerous errors). While he hasn't trained well enough, Kim Gravgaard is another experienced international who can hopefully help us progress further in Europe \o/
  6. Retirement of a Club Legend 2 June 2039 is a sad, sad day as a Tonbridge club legend retires.. We were delighted when a player of his quality chose us while we were still in the Vanarama South, and Damon stayed with us since. He developed into a solid Championship left center-back/full-back who also did a job for us in our successful Europa League campaigns. The towering defender made 217 league appearances (and many more in the countless cup competitions) and scored 13 goals. While we will no longer see him again on the Tonbridge Stadium pitch, he will remain in our hearts forever <3
  7. Season Review 2038/2039 We have finally done it \o/ Premier League The boys finally reached the pinnacle of English football! Jansen led the squad to the title win on 85 points, 4 ahead of nearest rivals Man United and defending champions Arsenal sit third on 77. The league win was down to the combination of the following factors: 1. Growth of our young players, and a good example is.. ..Jimmy, who has grown into one of the league's finest striker following 3 seasons at the club after joining from Bournemouth.. ..as a 20-year-old. 2. Tweaking of tactics to be more conservative against the Champions League challengers 3. To be more positive on the the touchline, praising the team without fail when we are in the lead and demanding more when we are drawing or trailing Champions League We were so unlucky with the draws in all cup competitions as our second string fell short to Spanish giants Real Madrid in the round of 16 FA Cup Arsenal proved to be our nemesis in the domestic cup competitions, knocking our reserves out in the fourth round of the FA Cup in a narrow 0-1 defeat. Carabao Cup They did the same in the Carabao Cup, but this time it was on their home ground The Finances We finally see some greens in our finances, but how did our broadcast revenue dip when we managed to climb all the way to the top of the table? How You Lined Up The English Premier League Champions :**) The Angels are finally where we belong \o/
  8. January 2039 We have had a second consecutive uneventful transfer window as we made a forced addition via the loan market. Our first-choice right-back (Hugo Arce) broke his foot and was ruled out for most of the second half of our campaign and there was a desperate need to plug the gap. Thankfully, A. Madrid allowed a player of Ovidijus Gvildys' quality to leave on a loan deal and we snapped him up on deadline day. The speedy Scottish can play in most roles down the right flank and he will go straight into our starting 11 to hopefully keep our level of performances up!
  9. Summer 2038 The only major summer signing we made was in central defence, where a gap was left behind by 31-year-old Pau Cubarsí who entered the last year of his contract. Jansen decided to spend the bulk of his transfer war chest on Diego Vargas, who was on our shortlist for 2-3 years but the timing was never right. We are hopeful that this is the ideal time to bring the Colombian in and he will get the opportunity to be the leader of our backline in the upcoming season!
  10. Yes mate! They have been on a downward spiral in the past 5-6 campaigns!
  11. Season Review 2037/2038 We've had an eerily identical year this campaign.. Premier League We are still the side who is good enough to challenge for Champions League football, but not quite at the level to challenge for the title. Thankfully, I think we have secured Champions League football in fifth place due to the English coefficients. As we have reached the threshold and are unable to attract players of the right quality to help us make the next step, the recruitment team has been focusing on bringing in youths for further development to hopefully grow into the players we need. Jansen will stick to the process patiently and maximise our results on the pitch! Champions League The second string did well to progress into the play-offs but were unlucky with draw as we were knocked out narrowly by fellow league side Man City. FA Cup Jansen decided to play the youths/third string against Championship outfit Wigan and the decision backfired as we were knocked out in the replay due to low morale arising from non-Champions League registration. The players underperformed Carabao Cup Our second and third string players nearly went all the way but came unstuck against a strong Spurs outfit right at the last hurdle before the final! The Finances We have had ups and downs in terms of finances in a topsy-turvy year! How You Lined Up Bring the boys out!
  12. Summer 2037 Our summer businesses commenced with a great find in Japan, and Akio Nakagawa arrives on a 4.4 million pounds deal to replace 31-year-old Caleb Ansen, who is finding hard to get up and down the floor when keeping out shots. The Japanese giant will provide back-up for our number one in the upcoming campaign \o/ Goals continue to be our major shortcoming and Jeison Mendoza was our latest gamble to make things work. The Englishman is easily the quickest player in our squad and his composure in front of goal and agility on the ball can be a bargain for just 14 million pounds! One of our longest serving players, 31-year-old Jayden Meghoma, was let go emotionally having spent his last 9 seasons at the club. We needed a left-back to plug the hole but there weren't feasible permanent options on the market. The recruitment team decided to go for the loan signing of Okan Bulut, an experienced defender with decent physicality and no real weakness in his game. The Turkish full-back will push hard for the no. 3 position in the upcoming season!
  13. Season Review 2036/2037 It seems like we have met another threshold during this campaign! Premier League We managed to secure another season of Champions League football, but the boys still couldn't quite sustain a title challenge. I don't think our squad is good enough to challenge the table toppers at the moment and our reputation also can't quite attract players of the right quality to raise the standards of our squad. Jansen can only continue to develop the young players we have at the club and look to pick out diamonds in the transfer market in the upcoming campaign! Champions League Jansen decided to field his second stringers in Europe in an attempt to sustain our Premier League title challenge with our first-teamers. Unfortunately, like our first-teamers, the second stringers came up short in the Champions League as we were knocked out in the first knockout stages. FA Cup Our second stringers also fell at the first hurdle in the FA Cup, losing 2-3 against Norwich City in a disappointing early cup exit. Carabao Cup Jansen's decision to field our third string backfired as we failed to go far in the Carbao Cup, losing unluckily on pens against lower-league side Stockport County. There really have been few highs on the pitch this year The Finances Off the pitch, it was no surprise to see us fall backwards financially after a stale year of football How You Lined Up Nevertheless, the boys certainly gave their all! We go again next year!
  14. Summer 2036 Jimmy Cullen is Jansen's choice to replace our player of the year last season, who was let go unwillingly due to his age and him entering the last year of his contract. The Australian is one of the most all-rounded forward for his age in world football and with him available for just 25.5 million pounds, our recruitment team wasted little time to snap him up. He needs to start showing improvement in his game though! Bellingham (not that one) was our second choice holding midfielder last campaign but he too has reached the wrong side of his thirties. We made the decision to replace him with Jaílson Vergara, who is so decent and physical on the ball, all these for just 18 million pounds \o/ We went for potential to add depth to our defence, and Daniel has room to grow into a decent 2nd-choice right-back for us. Jansen admires his fearlessness the most and the Spaniard will get lots of game time for us in the cup competitions. The no. 7 position was our clear weakness in attacking transitions and our scouting team spotted a great prospect in Daniel Silva, who was another of those promising prospects from the Sporting CP academy. We're gonna show faith in him and the wonderkid will go straight into our starting 11 as our first-choice right winger \o/
