  1. August 2031 We're getting plagued by bids from teams from Qatar for numerous players including Jarju, Ceesay and Dukureh. So when a bid came in for Mbye I decided to cash in to hopefully stop some bids on other players. He's a player I didn't want to sell as he's been a great backup option for the left wing and upfront, providing 160 goals and making 96 assists.
  2. As much as that would be nice, I expect it will be some mundane name instead.
  3. June 2031 As we continue we're shocked with the news that the board wants to build a new stadium. No details as of yet but this is a good step in the right direction.
  4. June 2031 Another double was completed. We won the league with three games to spare and it wasn't unbeaten, we actually lost a game this season against Wallidan, a heavily rotated squad the excuse. We hit a new milestone this season as we plundered 150 league goals in our 22 games, an average of 6.8 per game. We only conceded seven in the league. We scored a further 13 in the Gambian Cup beating Greater Tomorrow, Falcons, Wallidan, and PSV Wellingara along the way to win our 7th of the save. We are still some way behind Wallidan's record of 23 wins. We beat AS OTR (Office Togolaise Des Recettes) and Petro de Luanda to reach the group stages of the ACL again. We came second behind a strong Tunisian side ES Sahel, who won six from six. We managed to beat both Wydad Casablanca and Al Hilal Omdurman home and away. We were then drawn against Senegalese side Casa Sports in the quarter-finals but fluffed it, they hammered us 4-1 at home, and we went some way to repair the damage in the second leg, winning 3-2. A second successive season of 60+ goals for Ceesay, he missed the last two games of the season through injury so his record of 63 should have been surpassed. Lamin Dukureh with 34 goals and 35 assists is huge for the inside forward. Ceesay also surpasses 200 goals for the club in just 125 games, he's also only 25 so unless we find a much better player he could double his tally before he hits 30. A decline in the finances due to the improvement of the youth facilities and expenditure per month of the youth setup which amounts to around £150k per month.
  5. June 2031 Thankfully the season will be over by then but this is great news for the club.
  6. December 2030 Moses Jarju has started the domestic league season on fire, only two of those were penalties.
  7. November 2030 Four players join in a bid to try and increase the numbers across the squad. Ebrima Singhateh had been on my radar but wanted too much in wages, having flitted around the Czech lower leagues for a few years he was released and thus his wage demands were reduced favourably. Alagie Saine joins for depth in defence, we struggled a little there last season when injuries amassed. He's a player I've previously used in African saves, hopefully his lack of pace won't be tested too much. After a huge manual scouting mission around Europe looking for Gambian born players and adding them to a shortlist, I was surprised to see Lamin Sarr was interested in joining from Swedish side IK Sirius. We struck a deal for £200k rising to £250k for the goalkeeper, he will oust Diop for the number one spot and we will look to move the Senegalese national on to free up a foreign spot. Last to join was Adeniyi Onoja on loan from Nigerian side Rivers United, we do have an optional fee of £215k in the deal but we're unlikely to trigger it. We also have two deals in place for Eliezer Vianney and Stephane Tchamba, the two 17 years old will join in January.
  8. July 2030 It's been on and off for about two seasons but finally, it's over.
  9. July 2030 I've decided not to renew and instead release the two Ivorians we had. Neither player really showed any growth in their attributes whilst with the club, you could say both have been costly mistakes a combined outlay of £250k was big money two/three seasons ago. This gives me chance to welcome back Djibril Cisse into the fold once his loan in Mali ends and give youth player Momodou Jobe a chance at CB after a successful loan spell at Fortune FC. We can then also scour the market for another foreign-born player to improve the first team, possibly at RWB.
  10. June 2030 Two more upgrades for this season. The youth intakes need to start producing potential first team players for the outlay we're spending on it.
  11. June 2030 Quintuple-double ticked off. An easy league win but our winning run was ended after 54 games as we drew twice this season. We ended with +122 goal difference, slightly less than last season as we conceded 10 more goals this season compared to last. We defeated Fortune FC, Steve Biko and PSV Wellingara en-route to the final against Brikama Utd, we defeated them 5-0. In the ACL we beat US Forces Armees (Burkina Faso) and Sundowns (South Africa) to qualify for the group stages. We faced Zamalek (Egypt), Asante Kotoko (Ghana) and Young Africans (Tanzania). We topped the group with five wins from six games. An easy enough draw in the quarters, beating Angolan side Petro de Luanda (3-1) and then we faced Cape Town City in the semis. We won the home leg first 2-0 to give us a great chance to reaching the final for the first time. We went to South Africa and lost but only 2-1 which meant it was final time. We would face Egyptian giants Al-Ahly. At home first Ousman Ceesay scored another hattrick, his 61st, 62nd and 63rd goals of the season to help us to a 4-2 win. A week later we travelled to Egypt, in front of 30000 spectators we fell behind early but managed to equalise just after the break. Al-Ahly took the lead again and Moudo Barrow was sent off. Musa Touray struck his second of the game to tie things up before Yankuba Minteh scored in injury time to give the lead and seal the Champions League with a 7-4 aggregate scoreline. Our first treble secured. I would be shocked if we won the ACL again anytime soon. Some big numbers, Ceesay with 63 goals, Minteh hitting 31 goals and 31 assists from right wing. Jarju with a quieter season but still 12 goals from CB. We're secured financially now for a good two/three seasons without having to do well in the ACL. We got £2.1m for winning the ACL. We'll look to improve the junior coaching again.
  12. November 2029 Just one player joins but then immediately heads back to his home nation on loan. Djibril Sidibe signs for £67k from Malian side Onze Createurs and then joins fellow Malian side Djoliba on loan for the season. I would have kept him and played him but we're restricted to four foreign players registered and we already had our spots filled.
  13. July 2029 Another couple of upgrades that don't hurt the balance too much.
  14. June 2026 Moses Jarju came off the bench in the 69th minute to make his international debut for The Gambia. He isn't the first representative from Banjul Hawks to play for The Gambia this season as back up left back Sainey Sanyang was capped back in March against the Ivory Coast.
  15. June 2029 An improved intake albeit no world-beaters. Potentially one player who could make an impact if his development goes well is Abu Camara. Great mental attributes in teamwork, work rate, determination, and bravery for a young lad, can finish extremely well but lacks some athleticism. If we can get some of those 8's and 9's to double figures we've got a decent enough player on our hands for the Gambian league.
  16. June 2029 Quadruple-double achieved. Two seasons without dropping a single point. 22 wins from 22 again. This time we scored 129 goals and conceded just three. Gambian Cup number five on the save. We beat PSV Wellingara, Falcons and Bakau Utd before beating Real de Banjul in the final. We beat Al-Ittihad Tripoli and MC Alger in the qualifying rounds of the Champions League. We were drawn alongside Horoya AC (Guinea), Pyramids (Egypt) and Club Africain (Tunisia) in the group stages. A poorer performance this time round, two wins over Horoya and Club Africain and another point elsewhere saw us finish 3rd in the group. 50 goals for Ceesay as predicted but could have/should have been more, Marong started five games so but due to rotation so he potentially missed out on 5+ more goals maybe. 20 goals from CB for Moses Jarju but 14 were pens though plus he missed one. We end the season in slight profit thanks to an ACL payout of nearly £700k. I'm waiting on the next intake to decide where to improve next, maybe another improvement in the coaching and youth facilities next instead of the training facilities.
  17. January 2029 We're currently on a 33 games winning run in the league and have just won the last 10 games to nil.
  18. October 2028 Two transfers in this summer as we raid the Ivory Coast for two young players. Hamed Ouattara arrives as the new CB to play alongside our Libero, Jarju. He replaces foreign departee Oumar Kamara who heads back to Senegal on a free transfer. Yves Diomande arrives from the highly reputable ASEC Mimosas for a big fee overall but 50% up front and the rest in six instalments. Although a central midfielder he will learn and play at AMC in rotation with Musa Touray.
  19. June 2028 Youth intakes come through once the season is over. A reminder of their current state above. An apparent excellent intake. FML. I mean it's the best it's been so far this save but still not great. Alieu Mendy is the best of the bunch.
  20. June 2028 League and Cup double dominance has been achieved. Back-to-back-to-back doubles. We won the league at a canter, winning all 22 games, scoring 103 goals and conceding 11, annoying we conceded three on the last day of the season. We beat Bakau Utd, Real de Banjul and G-Tech en-route on the final. Beating PSV Wellingara 5-0 in the final. We beat Zambian side Nkana (6-2) and USM Alger of Algeria (6-2) in the early rounds to advance to the group stage. We faced Al-Merreikh Omduran (Sudan), Wydad Casablanca (Morocco) and SuperSport (South Africa). Four wins and two draws saw us top the group unbeaten and reach the quarter finals for the first time. We faced another South African side in Amazulu who were too strong for us as we lost 3-1 on aggregate. Ceesay was signed in January, I initially wasn't going to replace Marong but as you can see it worked out well in the end. Touray has peaked and probably at his limits but we still get game time next season even if I plan to replace him at AMC with a foreigner. Mbye is one goal shy of 100, I expect Ceesay to hit 50 plus next season. We spent a lot this season prior to the Champions League campaign, the training facilities were improved at £600k outlay. The youth setup is now costing us just shy of £500k a season so we need to continue with good performances in the ACL to combat that expenditure. Also the youth academy needs to start producing soon. We've also turned professional so that's an added expenditure.
  21. February 2028 A couple of winter transfers having not made any in the summer. Ousman Ceesay was released by his former club CNEPS Excellence having spent seven seasons in Senegal. The Gambian national accepted a non-contract deal and whilst he is better than Jerreh Marong I don't want to displace our current striker just yet. Our only signing was Ndongo Diop from the Senegalese side US Goree for an initial £20k rising to £40k. The young goalkeeper is an instant upgrade but I could see him moving on after a season or two with us earning some decent profit.
  22. November 2027 A fantastic season of competitive internationals for Gambia. Beating Ghana initially to top their AFCoN qualifying group, beating strong DR Congo and Mali side in the group stages of the tournament. Beating Angola and Ghana again en-route to the semi-final where they pushed Ivory Coast but fell just short. They then beat Guinea to confirm a 3rd place finish. They've just beaten Mozambique 5-3 on aggregate to reach the group stages for World Cup qualifying. They will face Guinea-Bissau, Burkina Faso and Guinea over the course of the next two years to hopefully finish top of their group and qualify for the 2030 World Cup. The Gambia are currently 40th in the World Rankings.
  23. June 2027 The board needed a little convincing but we got the three upgrades we wanted. Training facilities were a little costly considering the last one cost us £60k.
  24. June 2027 Another season done. We inexplicably lost a game this season, the penultimate game of the season against PSV. 109 goals scored this season and just 13 conceded, means we face just shy of the magical +100 goal difference. We made it another league and cup double, defeating Real de Banjul in the final, demolishing them 6-0 in the process. In Europe Africa, we played Somali side Elman in the ACL Preliminary round and smashed them 12-1 on aggregate which set up a 1st Round tie against Ghanaian side Hearts of Oak. We lost the away leg and managed a draw at home but bowed out of the competition and dropped down into the Confederations Cup. We faced stiff competition in the 2nd Round, Sudanese side Al-Hilal Omdurman. A 3-1 home win set us in good stead for the away trip which saw us the draw the match. Into the group stage we went, We faced Angolan side Sagrada Esperanca, Zambian side Zanaco and Enyimba Aba from Nigeria. Three wins and three losses saw us finish in 3rd place on head-to-head record against Sagrada Esperanca after they beat us 4-3 across the two group stage ties. 56 goals from Marong is huge, he scored 11 hattricks this season including scoring seven against Falcons in one game. Financially we're very stable. Time to improve the facilities once again.
  25. Mar 2027 I've just completed the signing of.... The player that gave me this save idea. I initially tried to sign him around a month prior but he wanted £900 p/w which whilst we could afford I couldn't justify paying. I looked again and his demands dropped considerably to just £300 p/w. Whilst he's not the best player, he's quick and good at dribbling/some finishing ability. He offers an alternative on the right wing.
