  1. You can try inverted wingers, but no role can fully replicate the play of inside forwards.
  2. Here are 2 examples where I used 4-2-3-1 with DMs 1860 München - Schalke 04.pkm Köln - Schalke 04.pkm
  3. In this example, my number 6 and 17 defensive midfielders are in line with the number 9 target forward and number 20 attacking midfielder. These situations are regular, no matter what formation I use when the goalkeeper plays the long ball.
  4. I use different formations with defensive midfielders (5-2-2-1, 4-2-3-1) and a target man in tactics. I always see one picture when the goalkeeper kicks the ball. Defensive midfielders move too high to receive a long ball with a target man when there is no one to play the second ball. Their positioning seems wrong to me because the gaps between defense and midfield are too big.
