  1. I seem to be missing the curved lines between my players in the tactics menu to indicate how well my players are combining.

I've made sure i have the "analysis" button selected but all i get is the image below.

It's my second year at the club so maybe my players haven't developed these combinations yet but i can see this option looks much different from previous updates?

It is quite a complicated system. At the start of the current season some changes were made to allow Jong teams a second chance to get into the pyramid, just like DoubleR said (Feyenoord that is, who didn’t want to at first, but now see the benefit teams like Ajax and PSV have with a team on the second level). If we would ignore the competitions besides the top 2 divisions being stopped this season due to COVID, the situation would have been as follows:

In the KKD (first division) there are 4 Jong-teams (Ajax, PSV, Utrecht & AZ).

On level below that, you have the Tweede Divisie (second division), with 2 Jong-teams (Sparta & Volendam). Those are the Jong teams in the regular competition. Below that level the Jong-team have their own league, the league in which Jong Feyenoord won the league in your game.

For a Jong team to get promoted or relegated, there are lots of complicated rules. If we look at the 4 teams in the KKD, the rules for them to be relegated are as follows:

    1. If all Jong-teams finish in the top half (top 10) of the league, none will be relegated and therefor none will be promoted from the Tweede divisie (The number of Jong teams in the KKD and the Tweede Divisie is fixed).

    2. If one of the Jong-teams in the Tweede divisie is crowned champion, it will play a home and away play-off with the worst KKD Jong-team (only if that team also finished 11th or lower (rule 1)) for promotion/relegation.

    3. If the worst KKD Jong-team finishes 19th or 20th and the best Tweede Divisie Jong-team finishes 1st or 2nd in the Tweede Divisie, then there will be automatic promotion and relegation without a play-off. So if Jong AZ finishes 19th, Jong Utrecht 20th in the KKD and Jong Sparta finishes 1st and Jong Volendam finishes 2nd, then Jong Utrecht would go down and Jong Sparta would go up.

    4. If the parent team of a Jong-team gets relegated from the Eredivisie to the KKD, then the Jong-team automatically relegates to the Tweede Divisie. For example AZ gets relegated to the KKD, then Jong AZ automatically is relegated to the Tweede Divisie. This relegation will automatically block the relegation of another Jong-team as described in rules 2 and 3. It is not stated which team will be promoted to the KKD, but one could assume this will be the highest ranked Jong-team (unless its parent team is already in the KKD). FC Volendam currently plays in the KKD, so Jong Volendam can't get promoted.

The rules for relegation from the Tweede Divisie and promotion from the reserves league is almost identical.

So basically Jong Feyenoord could win the reserves league 10 years in a row, but if in that same period neither of the 2 Jong teams in the Tweede Divisie finishes in the bottom half of that league, then Jong Feyenoord will never be promoted.

I believe this promotion-relegation system is not in the game.

Wow super confusing but thankyou for the info :D

  3. I had this issue since the last FM version and never quite managed to resolve it.

If I make a change to my tactics (tactical style) during a match - for example, my usual style is to set crosses to "low crosses" and i change this during a match to "mixed crosses", it doesn't default back to my saved tactic after the match is complete.

The next game i play, my crossing style is still what it was last set to, instead of what my saved tactic is.

I can work around this by reloading my saved tactic after every match, but I would've thought my tactics should reset after each game to what my normal or "saved" tactic is.

Just because I make a change to a tactic during a game doesn't mean i want this change to be permanently implemented for every match from then on?

Happy to provide a save game upload if needed.

    Thanks.

Ah I understand ! A few years ago a few “jong” teams decided to join the pyramid while other clubs weren’t able to or didn’t want to make the move and stayed in their own reserve completion (which isn’t part of the pyramid so they are stuck there now).... and now they regret the decision because of how big the level difference is!

    Thanks so much for explaining

Known Netherlands issue of note currently:

    • Keuken Kampioen Divisie has relegation enabled

Just wanted to check if what i'm experiencing is related.

My reserves (Jong Feyenoord) won the Dutch Reserve Competition Eredivisie last season but weren't promoted to the Keuken Kampioen Divisie.

Is this an issue that is still being looked at? Or have i misunderstood the promotion scenarios?

    Thanks.

  6. I have mine set to display team stats and the opposition formation.

It seems to keep forgetting this configuration though. I'm not sure if when i'm playing away it just displays the away teams formation (the formation of my team) but if i'm choosing the opposition formation and my team stats surely it should remember thats what you want it to stay on and not keep swapping it around.

The problem is my U23's don't play any competitive matches. Is there any way to ask the board for example to register the U23s in an U23 league? I'm managing Dulwich Hamlet, now in the Championship, and still haven't had a chance to register the U23s in any competition, only the U18s are playing.  I can understand this is the case in the Vanarama south, but I would think a club in the Championship gets to have a team in an U23 league. Or are the U23 leagues fixed in the game and it's just never going to happen?

A related problem is that I can't even get my assistant manager to schedule friendlies for the U23s during the season (he does in pre-season), so the only way to get them playing is to manually arrange a friendly for the U23's every week, which is a bit annoying. I have selected the option "arrange friendly every week" (or something in that vein) in staff responsibilities, but it's not working.

I have this same issue in a different league. Not really a solution but when arranging friendlies you can select "arrange multiple friendlies" on the drop down menu and do 4 at a time if you tick the dates on the calendar.

I usually just do as many as it will let me as the season starts. Before, I used to do them one at a time which is very tedious.
