  1. Cardiff Corinthians - Season 2051/52 Review (s30) Season 30 Another reasonably good season. We won the league again but did drop more points than we have in the last couple of decades. We made it to the second knockout round of the Europa League after finishing third in our Champions League group. Competitions Youth Intake Players SUMMARY
  2. 97/98 is my fav too. It was the first to get the official editor as I recall. GL with your youth academy journey.
  3. This thread was created a few months ago to cater for certain nations that are not eligible for inclusion here (including Holland).
  4. My favourite player retired a few days ago so I had to bring him back in some capacity
  5. Then the next couple This will continue throughout the summer for any staff approached. I won't bother posting any more images. Year joined: Lowndes 2048 Murphy 2041 Nagle 2043 Waite 2050 (10 May, so been at club for ~13months) Mendes 2044
  6. This relates to FM22 and earlier versions. It has long been possible to try to convince a member of staff to staff when they are approached by another club. In my experience I am always able to talk them into staying by selecting the first option (we have a good working relationship). They will either agree (rarely) and immediately reject the offer from the other club, or they will disagree. If they disagree I apologise and backdown (the first option available) and they will leave relatively happy. Then a few days later they will reject the other club. I don't recall this ever failing and works even if the staff member is approached by a much bigger club and likely to be offered more in wages (I am guessing, based on their current salary and size of other club). I have always assumed this is an intended mechanic but it could be a bug. I will add some screenshots
  7. Cardiff Corinthians - Season 2050/51 Review (s29) Season 29 was pretty decent. We managed to qualify for the CL group stage for the first time in five years and managed to finish third in our group so slipped into the Europa League 1st knockout round. We eventually went out 11-3 on aggregate to Lazio, so still have a long way to go before we can come close to competing with any of the decent teams in Europe. Our domestic season was also very good. We won the league (as per usual) but managed to win both cup this season too, having failed to win either last season. Fans player on the season was 17yr old Andorran midfielder Pedro Navarro 49g (screenshot below). His ratings are probably being inflated by him being on all of our corners and direct free-kicks. Our intake was again pretty good with lots of high potential players, so the future looks pretty good. Our youth facilities remain at Good and I am keeping my fingers crossed that our chairman will get bored and move on soon... Competitions Youth Intake Players SUMMARY
  8. For the last few seasons I have been using my favourite newgens as my football manager alter ego and I think I have found my guy for the next save. He's not exceptional but is still going very strong at the age of 35! That's the great thing about academy only saves, you can get so much more invested in your favourite newgens. He has been my captain for 12 years, and was vice-captain at 18, and recently went up to Model Pro.
  9. Has this changed since FM22? I'm still on 22 and my club have given me targets to develop the best youth system in the country and develop using our youth system. We maxed out our youth recruitment and coaching many years ago (costs about 3.5m per year) yet the youth facilities are stuck at Good. An upgrade would cost roughly what we pay our coaches and youth scouts for 3 months. Why are youth coaching and recruitment requests not behaving in the same way as youth facilities?
  10. Cardiff Corinthians - Season 2049/50 Review (s28) We failed to qualify for the Champions League group stage again and failed to win a domestic cup for the first time in ages (not too bothered tbh). We had a decent intake and I'm hopefully we will be able to keep hold of our top players for the time being. Competitions Youth Intake Players SUMMARY
  11. Nice one. I very nearly started an Ecuador save last summer after looking at the South American options. All the other SA leagues seemed confusing or very long... Or both. Good luck.
  12. I'm having the same issue but am on fm22 still. I'm in Wales, so licenced league. In my case we have to maintain the best youth facilities in the county and develop youth from our academy. The board sanctioned max youth recruitment and junior coaching ages ago (we're spending multiple millions each season for this) but youth facilities are stuck at Good with no option to even speak to the board. The response from SI shows they don't fully grasp the issue here, but glad it's back on their radar.
  13. Cardiff Corinthians - Season 2048/49 Review (s27) We failed to make it to the CL group stage again. That's three years in a row now. However, this actually worked in our favour as we slipped into the Conference League and managed to make it through to the quarter final and picked up the most coefficient point we have ever managed (17.50). 14. ... and no option to improve youth facilities. This just needs sorting out (I understand this still isnt fixed in FM23)! We're spending a fortune on youth coaching and recruitment each year. Our last youth facilities upgrade was about 8 years ago (up to Great, now back down to Good) and cost £2m, so ~250k per year. Our youth costs (training and recruitment) are costing over £3.5m per year! Shambles.
  15. Cardiff Corinthians - Season 2047/48 Review (s26) Similar season to last season. We failed to qualify for the group stage of the Champions League for the second season in a row but did manage to make it out of the group stage of the Europa League and through to the second knockout round, where we lost 2:6 on aggregate to Brentford. The biggest thing to happen this season was our average attendance in the league. We managed an average of over 1,000 per game for the first time, which is also the first time any team in Wales has achieved this. I am hoping this is a sign that the league reputation is growing and that this might be seen in our intakes in time. A I mentioned a few updates ago, I am not bothering showing loads of screenshots as not much is happening but have shared the summaries below. Fans Player of the Season
  16. Just catching up on messages and may have missed a reply to this. You can use this thread for older versions of the game, you just need to mention the version in your updates.
