  1. Guinea-Bissau FM24 - Bijagós Futebol Clube - Season 1 I have parked Afrika in Iceland again and am giving Africa a whirl for the first time. It looks like the continent has a traditional top 4 (Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco and Algeria) with South Africa becoming a stronger nation over the past few decades to make it more of a top 5 now. That said, there is much more competition in Africa than in Europe, so its not uncommon to see clubs from other nations winning or reaching the final / semi-final. Our Ground - I think this is the first time I have played on a sand pitch and its nice to see it represented in game. Domestic Performances In terms of club status and reputation, Bijagós Futebol Clube ended the season ranked as the 31st highest reputation team in Guinea-Bissau, with a local reputation of 0.5 stars. This marks a slight reduction from the previous season, but the club still managed to achieve significant milestones. In the domestic league, competing in the 2ª Divisão, Bijagós FC finished in 1st place and secured promotion on the final day of the season. Bijagós FC did not participate in the cup, being one of the lower-ranked teams in the second division. Players The fans' player of the year was Ansu Fernandes [46], who impressed with a Sofascore rating of 7.50. The 18-year-old, hailing from Bafatá, Guinea-Bissau, wore shirt number 9 and played primarily as an attacking midfielder or striker. Known for his speed and attacking prowess, Fernandes featured in 18 games, demonstrating his potential as a future star. Sulayman Camara [43] stood out as the top performer, achieving a remarkable Sofascore rating of 7.98. At just 16 years old, Camara, from Brikama, Gambia, led the team with 16 goals in 14 appearances. His strength in heading and aerial duels made him a formidable striker, proving crucial to the team's success. Following closely was Ansu Fernandes [46], whose contributions as an attacking midfielder and striker earned him a Sofascore rating of 7.50. His speed and agility added a dynamic edge to the team's offense. The third top performer was Úmaro Baldé [41], who achieved a Sofascore rating of 7.37. The 16-year-old from Bubaque, Guinea-Bissau, played as a midfielder and attacking midfielder, utilizing his speed to create numerous opportunities for the team. Sulayman Camara [43] also emerged as the top goalscorer for Bijagós FC. His 16 goals in all competitions showcased his scoring prowess and consistency. Úmaro Baldé [41] distinguished himself as the top assister, providing 9 assists in 18 appearances. His ability to support the attack with precise passes and quick runs was invaluable to the team. Youth Intake The youth intake this season was rated an impressive 4.5 out of 5. The number of players in the Elite, Top, and Good categories were 13, 3, and 0, respectively. This promising influx of young talent bodes well for the future of Bijagós FC. Among the top U18 prospects, Adilson Silva 25a [51] emerged as a promising young full-back. At 16 years old, the Bubaque-born player demonstrated strong abilities in team play, ground duels, passing, shooting, and aerial duels. Edmilson Dabó 25b [39], another 16-year-old from Bubaque, showed potential as a young winger, with notable strengths in team play. Braima Gomes 25c [42], a 15-year-old winger from Bubaque, impressed with his speed. Lamine Seck 25d [42], a 15-year-old midfielder from Diourbel, Senegal, exhibited excellent passing and shooting skills. Lassana Vaz 25e [42], a 15-year-old winger from Bubaque, showcased remarkable speed and potential as a future star. Finances Financially, Bijagós FC faced some challenges this season. The club ended with a balance of £6,283, having lost about £20,000 over the course of the season. This financial strain underscores the need for careful management and strategic planning as the club moves forward. Around the World In the realm of continental football, the CAF Champions League saw Pyramids triumph over ES Tunis in the final, which ended 1-1 on aggregate. Pyramids clinched their first victory in the competition by winning the penalty shootout. On the national stage across Africa, several teams emerged victorious in their respective leagues. In Egypt, Al-Ahly secured their 12th title in the Egyptian Nile League. In Morocco, RS Berkane celebrated their first title in the Botola Pro. ES Tunis continued their dominance in Tunisia, winning their 34th title in the Ligue Professionnelle 1. Algeria saw Paradou AC claim their first title in the Ligue Professionnelle 1 Mobilis. 2. @OlivierLI'll be joining you in Africa. I've just started my save the n Guinea Bissau, and of course had to go for the team with a 🦈 on its badge
  3. @darren1983 @XaW Are nations that are not in the vanilla game and only have 2 divisions (so no relegation to a Lower Division) still allowed? I'm thinking of Guinea-Bissau so I won't be troubling the HoF, if that makes a difference
  4. @jamespthomascool team. Love a save with a bit of a twist like that
  5. Afrika Reykjavik (Iceland) - Season 19 (2042) - FM24 After failing to find a save in Asia and Africa that I could get into, I decided to come back to Afrika Reykjavik. Domestic and Continental Performances In terms of club status and reputation, Afrika Reykjavik ended the season ranked as the second-highest reputation team in Iceland, boasting a 2.5-star national reputation. This marks a significant rise, climbing three places from last season's fifth position. The domestic league campaign in the Besta deild karla was nothing short of extraordinary as Afrika clinched the title with 64 points, four more than the regular champions, Vikingur R. The victory was unexpected and, based on predicted points, Afrika was fortunate and could have easily finished in second place once again. In the domestic cup, Mjólkurbikarinn, Afrika's journey was cut short in the third round. Fielding a rotated squad, they faced Hamar and, after a 2-2 draw in regular time, crashed out on penalties. Hamar, who finished 10th in Lengjudeild karla, managed to capitalize on Afrika's lack of focus in this early cup exit. On the continental stage, Afrika's third season in the UEFA Europa Conference League was met with disappointment as they failed to reach the group stage, falling to OB in the fourth qualifying round. Despite this setback, the team's performance in Europe was commendable and contributed positively to their overall season. Players Krisztián Ladányi [36b] [61], who earned a 7.39 Sofascore rating, was voted the fans' player of the year. The 22-year-old Hungarian attacking midfielder and striker, born in Csesztreg, showcased exceptional skill and shooting ability throughout the season, playing in 32 matches and making 7 substitute appearances. Among the top three performers, Marcin Warzycha [39c] [64] stood out with a Sofascore rating of 7.54. The 18-year-old Polish forward from Jarosław was instrumental in Afrika's success, netting 22 goals and providing 5 assists in 21 starts and 6 substitute appearances. His speed, passing, dribbling, and shooting were pivotal to the team's offensive prowess. Kamil Szary [39e] [62] was another key player, achieving a 7.49 Sofascore rating. The versatile midfielder and attacker, who played in multiple positions, demonstrated excellent skill and passing, making significant contributions across the field. Krisztián Ladányi [36b] [61] rounded out the top three, continuing to impress with his skill and shooting, as highlighted by his strong Sofascore rating. Marcin Warzycha [39c] [64] also claimed the top goalscorer accolade with his 22 goals in all competitions, further emphasizing his critical role in the team's attacking lineup. Viktor Már Guðlaugsson [33n] [64], a 24-year-old Icelandic player from Garðabær, was the top assister with 13 assists in 31 starts and 10 substitute appearances. His aerial duels and shooting ability made him a key provider for the team. Youth Intake The youth intake this season was rated an impressive 4.5 out of 5, showcasing the club's commitment to developing young talent. Among the new recruits, there are 5 players in the Elite category, 6 in the Top category, and 3 in the Good category. Prominent among the top U18 prospects is Patryk Nowakowski [42a] [60], a 16-year-old Polish forward from Świebodzin. Known for his speed and passing, Nowakowski is seen as a promising young striker with potential to become a future star. Another exciting prospect is Þórir Ásbjörnsson [42b] [53], a 16-year-old Icelandic winger from Garðabær. Recognized as a team player, Ásbjörnsson's strengths lie in his teamwork and vision on the field. Daniel Adamski [42c] [51], a 16-year-old Polish defensive midfielder from Lubartów, is also among the top prospects. Known for his team-oriented play, Adamski has the potential to become a solid midfield presence. Babacar Mendes [42d] [57], a 16-year-old Senegalese attacking midfielder from Richard-Toll, is another highly rated prospect. His skill and dribbling abilities make him a standout in the youth ranks. Lastly, Mateusz Kątny [42e] [49], a 16-year-old Polish striker from Barlinek, is known for his speed and finishing, marking him as a future attacking threat for Afrika. Finances Afrika Reykjavik's financial health saw significant improvement this season. The club's balance stands at £2,9 million, bolstered by a reasonable European run and the lucrative sale of star forward Ivan Musoke [38b] for £1.3 million, potentially rising to £1.6 million with add-ons. This financial boost has provided the club with a solid foundation to invest in future talent and infrastructure, ensuring continued growth and competitiveness. Around the World On the global stage, Bayern Munich emerged victorious in the UEFA Champions League, defeating Arsenal 1-0 in the final. This triumph marked Bayern's 8th victory in the prestigious competition, further solidifying their status as one of Europe's elite clubs. In domestic leagues across Europe, Newcastle United claimed their 5th English Premier League title, showcasing their resurgence in English football. Barcelona continued their dominance in Spain by winning their 39th La Liga title. In Italy, Juventus secured their 40th Serie A title, adding to their rich history. Bayern Munich not only triumphed in the Champions League but also secured their 50th Bundesliga title, affirming their dominance in German football. Meanwhile, PSG clinched their 29th Ligue 1 title in France, continuing their domestic supremacy. SUMMARY
  6. Yeah, my best striker has now gone, and then this happens. I think I need to stop for the night Thanks re the logo. I am not the most creative but found somewhere that offered templates so I had a go at making a new one for the club. I did try saves in Asia and Africa but wasn't feeling it, so have decided to give Africa another go. Yeah, loads of Polish players. I was actually going to call then Afrika-Polska on my return to the save, but decided against it in the end.
  7. Well done @Ron_Swanson Just curious, what bank balance did you finish on?
  8. @StanBoy11 @BeeInExile thank so much for your replies, theyre excellent! I always take ages to pick a team and seem to have settled on Lusaka Dynamo after they get promoted from the Lower League and into the Luaska provincial division 3 at the end of the first season. Sorry to bug you, but I have a few questions specifically about this team. Feel free to pm me if you would rather do that and keep this thread tidy! 1. They seem to have competed in the top flight until recently. What has happened to them? 2. They have a youth/B team (I think) set as an affiliate in the Lusaka provincial division 1, so 3 divisions higher. Is this correct? I note you say B teams can complete in the same division, but it seems a little odd that this affiliate is in a higher division. One final thing that is more related to the challenge I have played for a few years... I am only seeing four teams being promoted from the lower league and into the 2 provincial division 3s at the and of the first season, and its always the same clubs. Is this correct, as its different to later seasons when 8 teams go up (matching rules in game).
  9. Kids in your save are more interested in their hoverboards than old soccerball.
  10. @BeeInExile @StanBoy11 Are there any nations you would recommend are set as playable to allow realistic transfers/loans into and out of Zambia? Maybe Zimbabwe? any others? I normally check Transfer Flows on Transfermarkt, but can't find anything for the Zambia league. Thanks.
  11. Im getting the annoying semi-pro teams not being able to offer part-time contracts bug in my Myanmar save. I don't suppose anyone knows how to fix this? This has always stumped me
  12. Yangon Galaxy FC (Myanmar) - 2023/24 (Season 1) - MNL II 1st I've been looking for a new save for a few weeks. I knew I wanted a save outside Europe and a nation that has a short league season. I ended up going to Myanmar where there is a 22 game top division and a season opening national cup that involves playing 8 group games then up to 2 more games (semi-final and final). So, not dissimilar to Iceland. Myanmar is unfortunately more well know for political and humanitarian reasons than football. I won't mention any of that here. As for football in Myanmar, it is traditionally very popular. Yangon, the former capital and largest city in the country is home to the highest number of clubs. The Myanmar national team had its golden eras (as wiki calls them) back in the 1940s to 1970s, before seeing a big drop off in success until 2011. The 2011 political reforms did result in short resurgence, but that was undone in 2020 due to covid-19 and then the familiar political reasons. The nation has never qualified for a World Cup but did qualify for the AFC Asian Cup in 1968 and managed to finish as runners-up. The 'big three' Myanmarese clubs (Yangon Utd, Yadanarbon and Shan Utd) have competed in the qualifying rounds of the AFC Champions League but haven't made it to the group stage before. Myanmar National League 2 Yangon Galaxy, commonly known as Galaxy, ended the season with a notable achievement, securing the 1st place in the Myanmar National League (MNL) second division and secured promotion to the top division. Players Fans Player of the Year Aung Min Oo [49] claimed the prestigious title of Fans Player of the Year, earning admiration from supporters for his consistent performances throughout the season. With a stellar 7.59 Sofascore rating, Aung Min Oo showcased his prowess as an attacking midfielder and winger. At 28 years old, hailing from Yangon, Myanmar, he demonstrated exceptional teamwork and creativity on the field, making him a standout performer in Galaxy's squad. Top Three Performers Kyi Aung [44] emerged as Galaxy's top performer of the season, commanding the defense with authority from his left-back position. With a remarkable 7.72 Sofascore rating, Kyi Aung's athleticism and defensive prowess were instrumental in Galaxy's success. His contributions extended beyond defense, as evidenced by his impressive tally of 14 assists in 17 appearances, showcasing his versatility and playmaking abilities. Aung Min Oo [49], the Fans Player of the Year, also earned recognition as one of Galaxy's top performers. With a Sofascore rating of 7.59, Aung Min Oo's influence was felt across the pitch, whether operating as an attacking midfielder or a right winger. His keen sense of teamwork and vision added a dynamic dimension to Galaxy's attacking play, contributing significantly to the team's success. Hla Oo [43] rounded out Galaxy's top three performers for the season, displaying exceptional speed and versatility in midfield. With a Sofascore rating of 7.54, Hla Oo's energetic performances provided Galaxy with a valuable outlet in transition, driving the team forward with his relentless work ethic and determination. Top Scorer Aung Min Oo [49], with his adeptness in front of goal, claimed the title of top scorer for Galaxy this season. The 28-year-old forward from Yangon showcased his goal-scoring prowess with 12 goals in all competitions, demonstrating his ability to make a significant impact in the final third. Top Assister Kyi Aung [44] distinguished himself as Galaxy's top assister, providing crucial support from his left-back position. With an impressive tally of 14 assists in 17 appearances, the 19-year-old Myanmar native showcased his ability to deliver pinpoint crosses and set up scoring opportunities for his teammates. Youth Intake Galaxy's youth intake for the season was rated as exceptional, receiving a perfect score of 5 out of 5. The influx of talent included 5 players categorized as Elite prospects and 11 categorized as Top prospects, highlighting the club's commitment to nurturing young talent for the future. Top Intake U16 Prospects Khin Khant 24a [40], a 16-year-old midfielder/attacking midfielder from Yangon, demonstrated promising speed and ground duelling abilities. With an estimated potential ability between 4 to 5, Khin Khant represents a bright prospect for Galaxy's future. Zaw Lin 24b [42], another 16-year-old midfielder from Yangon, showcased his enthusiasm and teamwork on the field. With strengths in ground and aerial duels, Zaw Lin possesses the potential to become a key contributor to Galaxy's midfield in the coming years. Soe Lett 24c [40] and Wai Aung 24d [39], both 16-year-old defenders, displayed strong teamwork and defensive instincts. Positioned as centre-backs, they offer solidity and reliability at the back, essential qualities for any successful defence. Finances Despite their on-field success, Galaxy faced financial challenges during the season, with their balance dwindling to £3,700. The club experienced a loss of approximately 35k. AFC Champions League The AFC Champions League concluded with Yokohama F. Marinos of Japan emerging victorious over Al-Ain of the UAE in the final, securing a 5-2 aggregate victory. Though Galaxy did not participate in the tournament, the spectacle served as a reminder of the calibre of competition awaiting them on the continental stage in future seasons.
  13. Not too sure about personality, but this might be of interest. Its from quite a long time ago but I always pay attention to WwY and JPA of youth coaches/youth Man etc. just in case it has an effect.
  14. So in my search for a new save, I have found that Myanmar has an eight day week
  15. Congrats @glennuk Completing with the youth facilities 'feature' hindering you makes it even more impressive. I'm thinking about heading back to Asia.
  16. Please no. I will defo have a journeyman record if we do this
