Maybe that's why FM25 is so behind. They thought they had another year!
I really hope things are not THAT bad behind the scenes at SI

I feel fm25 and fm26 will be a fm25 in two parts, fm25.1 and fm25.2. I hope SI won't release both asking 50€ for each.
I feel this would be the correct way to do it. Release FM25 in march, and then FM25.1 in september. That way the game number finally matches the year. FM26 will then be released in september 2026.
Quote from Svein Kvernoey, Studio Technical Director, Sports Interactive:
"Don`t ask me exactly why we`re doing this thing where the product year is different to the actual year because that confuses ourselves sometimes as well."
By doing it this way at least something positive can come from this setback with the delay0 -

Now, what i want to say is: THANK YOU SI GAMES, thank you Miles, thank you SEGA and thank you developers, researches, testers and the others who i forget to mention, who works for passion as my passion is, everyday, for this WONDERFUL GAME.
As i said in one of my previous post in this discussion, i preordered the game as i do from a lot of time, the day of the announcement. I won’t never ask a refund, because is my way to say THANKS for this 23 years. Now they NEED our support , our patience. I don’t want to be a hero, i don’t want to be special, i’m disappointed and angry as one of you, but now i think that we have to respect everyone who works or spent a lot of time to the creation of the best game in the world.
Great post!
Yes, SI have messed this up, but they now need our "help"
I normally never preorder the game, but in this difficult situation i am going to do just that! And i would urge everyone else that have enjoyed this great game over the years to do the same.2 -

There's a lot of overthinking in that mate.
For sure! That`s unfortunately what can happen when we don´t get more official information...
Just really hope they include a dark and light skin option in the base game with the switch to Unity.2 -
I hope this is a big hint for a light and dark skin in FM25.
When scrolling down the website the background switches from dark to light and the font colors do the opposite.

And above all, Miles is keen to state that his twitter account is his personal account. I don't think it's right for him and the studio to be releasing information about the game/roadmap on such a channel. It should be one or the other - official account or personal account.
It should be coming from the official account. I don`t have Twitter/X so if Miles posts any additional info there i have to wait for someone on this forum to copy/paste it. Of course he can post about the game as much as he wants, but it should never be info that is not also easily available from the official channels.

What I will say to Miles is please stop using X to discuss this game I care so much about. No company (or individual representing one) with an ounce of social awareness should be associating itself with the dumpster fire of a platform.
Unlike most i actually like the screenshots, but i totally agree with your comment. I find it incredibly unprofessional for Miles to post specific information about the game/roadmap on X. Why not have all the information coming from the official channels?

I´m probably way off. We probably won`t be getting high end graphics like these for FM25, but the delay is causing me to speculate more than i should.

Thinking about the new graphics engine, what if we've already had a glimpse of the game's new look—at least in terms of animations—right in front of us?
Hear me out. Miles mentioned they've been working with Unity since 2020, right? We’ve had 3-4 iterations of the game since then, with... slight graphical improvements. What if the focus has been on Unity since then, which seems logical, and the graphical/animation improvements we've seen over the past few years were just transferred from the work being done on the new match graphics/animations in parallel?
We have those new animations in FM24. Imagine we get those same animations with slightly better ball physics and somewhat ''shiny'' graphics lol. It's like a horror story.
I´m thinking along the same lines. What if the images that started being released for FM23 and 24 are taken from the work on the new Unity engine?
I especially found this picture for FM24 almost like a teaser. We have been told that they are working on a new engine with improved graphics for a few years and then a picture like this is released. Could this be a sign of things to come?

Sure it would be nice to get more updates about FM25, but Miles was crystal clear about the timeline in the development update:
Football Manager 25’s release date will be confirmed in early September, with pre-orders opening at the same time. We’ll begin unveiling new gameplay elements shortly thereafter.

Nice to get an update from Miles, but somewhat disappointing that there were no screenshots of the graphics used. Would be great to see just a tiny something from the match engine or the newgen faces. Just need to be patient and wait for further news i guess
I think i got my hopes up too high with this quote from Miles in the blog post a year ago.
By this point that I’m sure that most of you are asking the same question – when can we see what this all looks like?

There is no promise, just an aim. From the link you gave:
Aiming...not promising anything. They also announced that the PL will be licensed, something that could very well be considered a major reveal.
That said, I hope SI communicate more about FM25 soon.
Definately no promise has been made, but i doubt very much that the PL licensing would be considered as a major reveal. This is what Miles wrote:

Well, as mentioned earlier, we've had resource on FM25 for some time now, building towards a key milestone at the end of 2023. So, this means we're aiming for the first major FM25 reveal in Q2 of 2024

The line "when can we see what this all looks like" probably means images of the improved matchday graphics and user interface, not an announcement of PL licensing.
I am hoping for a major reveal thursday or friday next week when there are no matches being played at the Euros1 -
Since we now have entered Q2 of 2024, when do we think we will get the first major reveal of FM25?

Miles also promised us a roadmap for game updates this year, similar to how they did feature releases. I don't believe we're getting that either. The previous update post doesn't mention anything about future update/plans. We've had one Content Update change list which was on November 10th (I believe).
I agree with a lot of things @RDF Tactics, but i´m just curious where/when Miles promised a roadmap for game updates this year?

Probably not. I mean, licensing are crazy, even the fixture list is licensed, so I would struggle to see stadiums not being it!
With the licensing being so crazy, why can SI have all the names of the worlds footballers and even represent them with correct height, weight, skin colour, hair colour etc. in the match engine without being impacted by licensing? Is it because the match engine is very "vague" and the players are show from afar and not in any detail?
But if the stadiums are used in the same way it will be obvious breach of licensing because of the clarity/size of the stadium?0 -

But players like VVD, who are completely overrated and have pathetic quality.
Virgil van Dijk has pathetic quality? You have the right to voice your opinions, but don`t expect them to be taken seriously with statements like that....

I was going to ask if anyone could make a skin with just the shouts option added to the lower menu, when the subs bench is minimized.
With the default skin you only get the tactics&subs option in the lower left corner. I always play my matches with the subs bench minimized to get a bigger picture of the pitch as well as getting space for more options in the touchline tablet. This means that for every time i want to give a shout to my team i have to click lower right to bring up the subs bench - click the desired shout - click lower right again to minimize subs bench.
Instead this could be done with just one click if the shout option was added to the skin.
I know there are great skins available that have this option, but i am so used to the default skin and just want this one change.
I know nothing about altering the skins and of course i can try to learn all about it, but this will probably take me hours - an experienced skinner might do this in minutes?0 -
Thanks for the answer. I can imagine that this is not easy to balance.
All your points are valid, but then why is my suggestion posted on january 6 about adding colorful weather symbols not yet been reviewed?
I would like to think that this precise feature request wouldn`t require much research, discussion or googling? Perhaps i`m wrong.
And to be clear: this is not about me and my feature requests! I see this in a much larger scale and how to treat people with the respect they deserve. There are more than enough people who spout rubbish about the game (and everything else) on social media. That should be considered to be just noise. But those that actually take the time to register on this forum and put forward their ideas on how to improve the game is definately not noise, even if some ideas are unrealistic and repetative.
I just think it`s important to show gratitude to the people actually willing to help out in a polite and constructive manner, and a small gesture would be to at least review the "easy" feature requests by date posted And i`m sorry if you have such a system in place already and just "miss out" on some posts because of a big workload.0 -
Miles just confirmed on Twitter that the music IS included
2 -
In the headline feature reveal video James asks about two things regarding the Champions League: at the start of the match when the players come out with music and trophy lifts at the end. The answer is that both those areas will be affected by the changes to FM23....but it`s unclear to me if there was a misunderstanding to the question here. I`ve seen others asking this as well.
So hopefully someone from SI can clarify this: will the Champions League hymn be played in FM23 before games?0 -
I have this similar problem and have not found a solution
0 -
My biggest hope for FM23 is a huge improvement to the matchday graphics, stadiums, newgen faces etc. Just to add to the experience of matchday being the single most important thing about this great game.
I see some comments about the graphics being outsourced after FM17 is the reason for the lack of progress, but is this a fact or just speculation? Does anyone have any sources to back up such a claim?2 -
So hopefully this suggestion won`t be noticed for a while yet
0 -
This is not a suggestion for the game, but for the forums and how the suggestions are being dealt with.
Now it seems very random what topics/suggestions are being noticed and reviewed. I don`t have many exact examples of this but it seems that sometimes whatever has been posted lately gets noticed over suggestions posted a long while ago.
I have topics/suggestions as far back as february/march that has not yet been reviewed, but i know that posts made just a month ago have been reviewed.
It think it would be much better that you review in the order of date posted. If only as a mark of respect to the posters who have made their suggestions early on in the game cycle.0
FM 25 DEVELOPMENT UPDATE
in Football Manager General Discussion
Posted
I just preordered as well. Maybe i´m being naive about this, but the absolute worst case scenario is that we no longer have the game Football Manager...and looking at the competition not a single game comes even close to offering the quality of FM.
For me, this runs deeper than it just being a game. All the great excitement, joy and despair (in a good way) this game has given me for over 20 years can not be measured in money.
I would also urge the content creators who might read this to encourge their viewers to preorder the game! I think some of the FM content creators are doing great work and they don`t want to see their income shrink, so they ask viewers to keep watching and supporting their channel in what will be difficult times ahead. The same applies to FM: let`s support this great game in difficult times - the thought of there being no FM at all in the future is really sad compared to the delay of FM25...
