  1. Any glaring issues in this system? Trying to get a 4231 going that defends more as a 442. FBs has sit narrower on to create a more hybrid IFB/IWB at times in the build up, Ws has cut inside, AMs with move into channels + get further forward, WBs with stay wider and RPM with dribble more. Pre Season was hit and miss, with most goals coming from set pieces as I struggled to break down teams with a low block 5 at the back. Just wondering if I've missed anything that shouldn't go together with roles or TI's.
  2. After bouncing around saves for the past few months, I've finally managed to settle on a side that I'm quite excited to take over and attempt a long project with that I can write about on here. Preston North End will be my choice of club for this save! A hugely historic football club in English football, It is one that I think is perfect for taking over and trying to forge some new history and attempt to develop the club. For those who aren't aware of the clubs history, they were the winners of the inaugural football league, doing so as the first 'Invincible' team before Arsenal went on to match that impressive feat. They also went on to win the FA Cup that year too, ensuring they also hold the title as the first club to have won the domestic double. Given the success of the club in the past, The Lilywhites have not seen top division football since 1961, and have recently spent time in League 1, which I think is something that will have to change, with this being the primary reason for my choosing to manage the club. They also haven't won a major trophy since winning the FA Cup way back in 1938, so maybe a cup / league win could be on the cards in this save! Now the boring history lesson is done with, it's time to move on to the football manager side of things! The Aims Of The Save - Win promotion to the Premier League for the first time in the clubs history Win a domestic cup to end the clubs long trophy drought Develop the academy facilities and attempt to bring through the next Tom Finney Retain a British core for the squad, with an emphasis on more Scottish players as a nod to historical squads Make Preston North End the biggest club in Lancashire! So, can we bring home some success and add a more recent trophy to the cabinet at Deepdale Stadium? Time will tell, now time to get cracking with pre season!
  3. Fantastic thread mate, I do love an Italian save! Out of interest, what have you used to design the kits? As I’m looking at creating some myself for my save
  4. Okay, so here goes my first attempt at writing up one of my saves on the forums. Had an itch to get back to writing about the game again for a while, after previously running an FM Blog under the name FM Pingu a couple of years back, but stepped away due to my mental health. Will try and update this as much as I can, depending on what goes on in the real world WHY PICK EVERTON? I've been bouncing around saves on the game and been unable to settle on one, with my longest save lasting around 2 and a half seasons at most. Growing up, and still to this day, I've been an avid West Brom fan, but have always had a few teams I have looked out for. One of these teams being Everton, due to my uncle being a supporter. I feel they are a perfect club to sink my teeth into for a save due to the poor state of the club in real life at the moment. Poor recruitment has led to a massive amount of money being spent, hampering the finances, especially on the wage bill. With not many of these signings being so successful, the clubs performances haven't exactly lived up to the expectations of supporters or club officials from what was envisioned when the current owners took custodianship of the club. Everton are too big of a club to be where they are currently, and with a 6 point deduction overhanging them at the start of the game, I feel its a fantastic club to attempt to rebuild through smart recruitment aswell as a good tactical philosophy. AIMS OF THE SAVE 1. Attempt to stabilise the clubs finances 2. Install a playing philosophy based around progressive possession 3. Create a pathway for the academy, while also developing coaches where possible 4. Slowly build the club up to get them back to challenging for European Competitions 5. OVERTAKE LIVERPOOL As you can see, It's not going to be an easy task to get the club back on track financially, but with some smart recruitment and a success on the pitch I think It is easily do-able! Now it's time for me to get stuck in, and go and begin the overhaul over the backroom staff, aswell as setting up our new pre-season schedule and building our tactic, all of which will be covered in the next post! Ciao for now
  5. I know it’s a bit late on, but how would I change the windows settings to suit?
  6. Ive not finished reading these posts so someone else may have mentioned it before me, but if I remember correctly, due to the new positional play features the IW should naturally stay a bit wider if there is a SV on the same side
  7. I haven't got a screenshot to hand at the moment, but am i doing something wrong in installing? Near enough every panel / page i view doesn't fit the screen in full view. Play on 85% zoom, aswell as trying out on other zoom's too but can't seem to figure out why it doesn't fit.
  8. How would you say these two systems fair with the positional play rotations? I've tried to design two systems for a 2-3 and a 3-2 build up, and it does play out nicely, but is there any roles which could clash when the rotations are triggered?
  9. Great thread, always look out for your posts as they're very informative and always a good read! Was just wondering what you think of the system I have at the moment? Been trying to get a 4-4-2 going, and with my main goalscorer getting injured I had to tweak a little. CB's both have 9 pace, so a high line for compression with a mid block is out of the equation, and we've not been bad this season, missing out on championship group by 1 point. But found our defending can be pretty passive at times, and attacks our pretty stale 90% of the time. This system is newly tweaked, but wanted to see if there were any glaring errors in it from a set up point of view.
  10. Can you define what you mean by saying they need to be quite broad?
  11. Not sure if it’s a common thing across all teams, but I noticed it last year too. When managing West Brom, I noticed that the heights of players were never the same.. Akeel Higgins was 5’7 on one save, and 6 foot on another. Reyes Cleary was 5’6, 5’8 and 5’11 on separate saves. Bit odd seeing as that a players physical information shouldn’t be different at the start of saves? Is it a common bug across the whole game?
  12. West Brom - The finances at the start of the game don’t seem to match up to how they are in real life and seems a tad unrealistic. Starting balance is relatively healthy, when in real life it is not the case as we don’t have much cash in the bank and were almost relying on player sales to keep the club running day to day as the finances are so stretched. The ownership status is also wrong. It states in game the owner is Enjoying/Loving life at the club, when in reality he is looking to sell and we are also in very early talks with a few parties. Has been absent and also looking to sell up for quite a while now too so not sure why this hasn’t been reflected in game.
  13. To be fair, I am just experimenting with it at the moment. But with the mentality being on positive, and using the Step up more TI, I'm trying it out for the keeper to be more closer to the defence as part of the "rest defence". Ideally I'd like him positioned further out from goal to give him a better chance of sweeping up any balls over the top, and also increase the likelihood that he attempts to help out in the build up more efficiently and higher up the pitch than you would expect. So far so good though, he is currently the goalkeeper attempting the most passes per 90, has the most saves per game (probably due to our standard of team), and has 6 clean sheets from 10 without making any errors from being caught out high off his line.
  14. This is the attributes and traits for my choice of player to play the AP(A) role, and then this is the set up I could try, unless I possibly use a poacher as previously suggested? Or is the AF or another striker role more suited now I've changed the roles of the RW and RB?
