As per the OP, we don't comment on how many leagues you can play comfortably with any given setup, as the processing speed is subjective.

However, the i9-13900F is one of the best CPU's currently available so it'll handle it better than most things you can currently get.

Thanks Kev. I actually read that, and then brain deaded it when I posted..lol. I should have been "runs the game comfortably". You answered that for me. Cheers.

  2. I am managing a second team for the first time: FC Koln II. The board are devasted that I am not giving time to first team players. I am unsure how I am meant to do that. I pick the best team I have available to me. I use the filters to check what first team players I have available, and no players are listed.

The board is also disappointed that I am not in the top half. We are top.

Are these bugs or am I missing something?

I've always played as a Lower League Manager. Right now, I'm managing the weakest playable team in Northern Ireland. I've given myself no badges and am an ex-Sunday League footballer.

As a result, my personal attributes are mostly 1s with a few 2s. There are 2 immediate consequences that I can see. Firstly, players tend not to respond to my teamtalks thus have no morale boost, as mentioned already. The second is that my contribution to team training is virtually nil. I get half a star in every category I train. Further down the line, I'm unlikely to get offered other jobs if I want out due to lack of success.

In terms of perceived difficulty level, this beta is feeling really good. My tactical tweaks appear to make a greater difference than previous versions, but the players are suitably hopeless for this level. Now admittedly, playing as a LLaMa, you can be far more forgiving of flaws in the ME. For example, I tell my keeper to roll the ball out to a defender, and he invariably hoofs it up the pitch. ME flaw, or he just doesn't trust the defenders? You can construct that kind of narrative at this level. But you can see changes like adjusting the D-line now. I'm defaulting to Cautious mentality and still scored 6 in my last friendly (4 being defensive howlers). I'd never go below Positive in previous incarnations.

I am with you on this. I have far more fun playing with Limavady United in the lowest league of Northern Ireland. I make my own tactics without ever studying other peoples tactics. For FM22 I use the Star Attributes skin that just turns attribute numbers into stars. I only sign players found by my scouts and all staff must be found from them applying for the job. I feel SI should make something like this as part of a "Challenge Mode" similar to OOTP. I suggest people may try some of the above things. I find the game becomes more interesting to me.

Its come to a point where SI need to stop using our imaginations as ‘mis-givings’ and actually do what they promise. Miles, I love you and your crew, but I feel a Alex Ferguson mentality… ‘Us’ against ‘Them’.

Can we agree, FM needs to come out as an update every year, half a price or even free. Why are we paying full whack for ‘patches!’

I just wait for the 40-50% sale (normally after the 3rd patch). I feel that gives me the best of both worlds. Of course, if everybody did that it would not be great for SI!

  5. Could the game simply not give a weighting to current ability and then a weighting for potential ability when determining selection? Then it would be a matter of tweaking the value of the potential rating weighting to get numbers closer to real life. I don't mean to make something they may be quite difficult sound easy, but if the AI has no ability to develop and select youngsters what's the point of playing past 5 seasons.

As Dave; I wish there were more injuries. I'm with my second team, leaving training to my assistant and coaches, and i hardly have injuries. Knocks now and then, sure. Injuries are sort of "non-existent"  in my team at the moment.

Yeah. It really is strange to have just 2 or 3 players with any real injuries. I wish the number would be bumped to closer to real life. Again, it would be nice if the user could set the injury rate to High, Standard, or Low like OOTP.

Press the keyboard backspace key, that will take you back to the teamtalk screen.

Thanks. Just got the game today, and not being able to go back to the team talk was frustrating. I also can't seem to return to viewing stats at half time. Thought this would have been sorted out by now. One of the reasons I hold of buying FM at launch is so these kind of things get fixed. Cheers.

  8. I have been enjoying my FM2020 save, but after reading this thread I decided to load up a new save on FM17 just to see if what people are saying here is true. It was a version I never got to play with much.

Well, yeah. There is not that much difference really. Some of the things that frustrate me in FM20 are not as obvious in FM17, but I miss the newer features too much to revert back to an older version.

I felt the final patch of FM13 gave us a pretty balanced ME.
