*Official* Football Manager 2023 Feedback Thread

Any consideration of a hotfix to revert whatever change this workaround reverses? General consensus from this thread alone, although granted not representative of all users across the world, seems to be that this change makes performance worse for most people. -

Probably not feedback at this point, but just got this from my first youth intake post-patch. Hopefully not a pattern in future years! -

I quit the game and applied and then re-loaded. Can try again though. Yes, I do have a G-Sync monitor - AOC AG271QG 27 inch monitor | AOC Monitors | AOC Monitors -

I may have jumped the gun on my response actually. Even after updating that setting in NVIDIA Control Panel, it was still a bit laggy although I think there was some improvement. Still not enough for my liking though, so I reverted that and have re-added the target command and back to pre-patch levels / silky smooth UI. Thank you, sir! -

Ah okay, my G-Sync may have been a clue then as I have V-Sync set to On in NVIDIA Control Panel, which isn't quite Fast Mode. Set it to 'Use the 3D application setting' as per your suggestion and seems to have solved it. Your shortcut command also fixed the issue too, but removed that for now Edit: Although saying that, my GPU usage was fine, it was just a generally laggy UI that I was experiencing. -

Any way to do this for the Game Pass version? RTX 3080 and game is very laggy even in general navigation. Target is greyed out on the desktop shortcut. May or may not be relevant, but I have G-Sync enabled. -

I think the fact that there are no significant changes between FM22 and FM23 is pretty well documented at this point and I'm sure SI have taken notice of general sentiment this year. I will however say that a) having access via Game Pass anyway and b) downloading a new skin (Kojuro for those interested, I usually play with default and wanted one that was similar but improved) has sucked me in all over again this year. I'm enjoying the match engine and seeing some things I can't recall too much in the past such as deflected goals, cutbacks for others, cutting inside and bending in the far post etc. Using my own tactic and am not overly into that side of things as prefer the squad building aspect and just pick my best players with a tactic that suits. I'm enjoying it. -
Blatant offside not given

Leicester's equalising goal in the 91st minute in attached PKM. Dewsbury-Hall knocks it forward (doesn't look like an intentional pass which may be the cause of the issue) but ball comes back off Daka, who was yards offside and was active in play, back to Dewsbury-Hall who scored. Fully agree. I have an FM 'routine' that I developed many years ago, and each game fundamentally plays the same to me. It's the core gameplay loop that is addictive enough to make me buy it each year (although I may well skip this one), and whilst I do notice the slightly redesigned or new screens every version, they soon get ignored. I think that's part of the challenge that SI has; how do they improve the game in a way that actually enhances that core gameplay loop rather than with 'bloat' (as others have put it). I think they've mostly missed in their attempts to do that, but I do suggest you load up an older version of FM every now and again just to remind yourself what you've gotten used to! I also do think there are a number of bugs and QoL improvements that can and should be made to features that are slightly invasive or a part of that core gameplay loop, such as a media and team talk rework, better newgen attribute balancing, player interaction / unhappiness rework etc.
