Secondly, are 4-2-3-1 tactics with midfielders in the center, not DMs, completely unviable?

Well, the last question is, is it possible to make a tactic in such a formation? With fullbacks in the role of laterals

And this formation is a romantic nostalgia for the end of 2000s. I don't believe there is potential on this game engine, but it would be just interesting to try.

I don't know what the FM21 will be like, but Chertanovo's philosophy is to develop through homegrown youth. In addition, the most promising player is playing there, Pinyaev, whom Man UTD  has been watching since he was 13 years old or even younger.
