The narrative is already building around Palmer post match. I don't see him moving the needle over Saka from the start.
Mainoo now must start, and one of Foden/Bellingham should really make way for Gordon. Can't see the latter happening though.
There are enough issues with, and hyperbole around VAR and refereeing that we don't need to be finding controversy where there is none. Correct decision especially given that the on field call was offside, length of time spent to confirm it was too long.
It just looks like such a poorly coached side. No patterns of play, easy to play through, half hearted press, no support for players in possession to play through the press.
Positioning off the ball isn't great. Looks far too easy to get at our back 4 with 2 or 3 simple passes.
Hopefully the TAA midfield experiment ends soon, he's just not a natural at key facets of the game you need in that position
This is a poor Mexico side, but at least they bring something to major tournaments with their fans. Sad they've gone out instead of Poland who are just total nothingness at major tournaments.
Trent for Trippier is another change i'd consider here. The threat is mostly down the right and his extra quality on the ball can make the difference in a game like this. Notwithstanding Trippier has been poor individually as well
