  1. Question for the experts: If your team doesn't have an U-18 team - do you still get youth intakes? I have started with a team in England but no U-18 team, I don't want to go most of the way through the year to find out we won't get any newgens through.
  2. Ashanti Gold update - Cancelled Sorry if anyone was enjoying this (doubt it as it was very early days ), but I don't think the database I used plays well for Youth Academy challenges. My first season in the top league and I breezed the league and qualified for the champions league - then in the champions league, the next season (this is my fourth season) we got to the final and lost. We out classed the other team and it just didn't feel like a "challenge" it felt like I would win it in the next year and as it was a custom database it didn't feel right to keep updating it...so I am going to move on to a different league, which is in the vanilla game.
  3. Going for Gold! Terry Hamilton at Ashanti Gold - Season 2 The League Yeah that youth intake sent a rocket up us - we dominated, this was easy! Unbeaten in the league and only 3 draws, couldn't have asked for much more. The players are settling in well and the fast attacking tactic suits them well. Ghana FA Cup Another 2nd round exit - nothing exciting here ..... yet Youth Intake Just a "good" rating this time, not many prospects here but maybe the stars are lying to me. Danso Pretty "meh" really, but loving the aggression! Team of the Year Most of the guys here are from the last youth intake, apart from the Striker ( who is looking to leave ). I seem to have luck with a few players - their contract expires but they stay here, then no teams seem interested in them. works for me! No coach badge still - we have no money and when we did have money they were scared I would leave for better things. They didn't believe me when I said I would be here until we win a champions league. Also facilities degraded, damn!
  4. I assumed it was me doing something stupid, hence reloading it many times. But lesson learnt, next time I shall ask.
  5. So I actually did the same earlier today as I wanted to have a look at what French teams would come up for future. I did about 15 resets trying to get a certain team promoted, only to find you can't take over a team in the fourth division (the useful information provided above would have helped me earlier 😀) If you are happy to wait a few hours I can have a look and see if I have one for Toulon? I am pretty sure they got promoted in one of them.
  6. Going for Gold! Terry Hamilton - Ashanti Gold - Season 1 (I wanted to type this in this gold colour but it makes it hard to read so...black it is!) The League So the league format in the Ghana Division one is a bit complex. There are three divisions, 1a, 1b, 2 and 3. If you win 2 or 3 you get promoted, but if you win 1a and 1b you have a playoff to see who gets promoted (3 in total). Luckily we find ourselves in division , zone 2, so we just need to win the league. With our team being rated as one of the best in the league ( I assume because of the recent league success and not the match fixing...) a promotion straight away looked possible, but that wasn't the case. 4th place is an amazing start - but the board weren't too impressed. Hopefully their expectations level out as they were a bit unrealistic. We had 11 players when I took over - and none of them were CM's Ghana FA Cup Our first taste of the cup - it looks like there is only the one cup competition here. We won our first match but were then knocked out in the second round. Youth Intake Ah yes - the main point of the challenge! We have very good facilities to start and we were promised an excellent intake - with 11 players registered it had to be decent! It delivered! I have never seen so many gold stars! I assume this is just because the rest of our team is trash but it is still nice to see! Welbeck I could have picked a number of players - but this speedy winger is sure to stand out.
  7. Terry Hamilton in Africa I have decided to try and tackle Africa once more - but after announcing my team last time - and then being fired within 24 hours! (IRL time, not in game!) I have made sure that I lasted a few seasons before adding here. I will do the updates when I get back but I wanted to announce the team. I avoided Morocco this time because of the last spectacular fail, and loaded up Egypt, Algeria, DR Congo, Ivory Coast, Ghana and Cameroon. Egpyt was my first choice, but after simming until the 25/26 season there were no promoted teams as the league re-organised itself, so I decided to ditch them too. DR Congo and Ivory Coast were my next choice but Ghana looked too tempting. WAFA SC or West African Football Academy SC were just promoted, and they had amazing starting facilities for the challenge! Those facilities were just too good to turn down...or so I thought! Another team caught my eye! mainly because of the badge! Ashanti Gold is a name I have heard of in the past, they won Ghana's top division in 2015, so very recent! Their facilities are pretty decent too. There is the small matter of why they were relegated...and that is because they were found guilty of match fixing! Hopefuly the match fixing will work in our favour! But look at the badge! I have been asked by the board to stop telling everyone about the match fixing, it was all a miss understanding. I know he means that as he gave me a bonus at the same time!
  8. I decided to start with Real Madrid as I figured they would be a fun team to choose. However, since looking at the team it seems there is no out and out striker, and only 2 "normal" Centre backs, one of which is injured for the season. So this could be fun! I will keep updating here in the hopes someone joins in
  9. When does Jamie Tart arrive? Also - Roy Kent needs much higher aggression :P
  10. Posting here to claim this section for the leader board. This is wishful thinking on my part as I may be the only person taking part
  11. The FM Points Table Challenge (The name might change! I couldn't think of a better one!) I have been trying to create this challenge for a while and hopefully a few of you give it a go and enjoy it! a few friends and I used to do a similar version and it was a lot of fun to compare scores. The Aim The aim of this challenge is to win as many trophies as you can with multiple teams. Winning trophies will earn you points and there will be a leader board to rank everyone taking part. You can also earn points via other achievements, listed below. The Rules A relaxed start! You can select any team you like!, there are no restrictions on who you manage, but you can only stay with this club for a maximum of 5 years. Once you have hit the 5 year mark you need to resign and take over a new club. You are also free to leave the club earlier if you prefer (this is encouraged) You can manage in any league you like, any continent too. International jobs are available too but NOT whilst employed at a club (one job at a time!) You could even pick a team in the Vanarama North if you are confident they will win the league. Or why not take a team in the Bahamas to league and cup glory for a few years! You are encouraged to change jobs as often as you can by rewarding you with extra points for the different teams you use, and the different leagues you manage in. On the other hand, it could be worth sticking with 1 club for 5 years if you are sure you will a lot of trophies. Points Scoring I haven't listed every competitions but the equivalent competition in a different country/continent will get the same points. So for the Asian version of the super cup will get you 10 points. Or the Copa Libertadores will get you 40 (like the champions league) Tips Start with a team you are sure will win the league - PSG, Bayern Munich, TNS in wales if you want a challenge! This way you should get off to a high scoring start. Create your manager with all the badges and international experience. Try to manage in as many countries as possible, changing teams gets you more points and keeps it interesting. However, If you are dominating with a team then staying in one place might be better as you can get a lot of points with an incredible team. World cups are a big point scorer - try to time quitting a job to take up an international just for the tournament, then get back into a new club team right after. Admin At the end of each season if you could post a screenshot for every trophy, or achievement you collect and I can update the leader board. We will have 3 leader boards, one for 5 years completed, one for 10 years and one for 20 years. I am open to adjustments in the points scoring system if I have been too harsh/Generous with the points. Hope some of you take part and enjoy! let me know any suggestions etc.
  12. I loved following your Gibralta save so I look forward to this one too!
  13. JS Kasba Tadla - whoops! Nice short and sweet update today! Looks like this was a bust We were bottom of the table with 6 points and 7 points off safety. I think I will try somewhere other than Morocco!
  14. Tony Pizza is back - JS Kasba Tadla I couldn't keep away - after the success in India I wanted to get straight back into a new one. Also - youth preview in the first season looks a bit tasty
  15. Thanks all! It was an edited database by the way. It was the Indian one from MasterIgor that I got from FM scout.
  16. Tony Pizza at Kerala United FC - Go Hornbills! - Seasons 22 (2/2) Champions League We did it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! a 2-0 loss in the second leg could have cost us but the brilliant performance of the first leg saw us through. After the first leg I thought I had won it comfortably, but two of our best players were out of the final (one injured and the other suspended) but the guys did great. What a team! Ghosh with the highest rating for the year - but D'Souza won player of the year, but didn't make team, of the year?? ^^^ Crazy that we only sold one player! This year about 4 of the good ones are wanted by European clubs, so it was probably lucky we did it this year. I hope one or two of you have enjoyed the updates - I have loved it. Next stop - Africa!
  17. Tony Pizza at Kerala United FC - Go Hornbills! - Seasons 21 (1/2) Domestic Competitions Domestic Treble again this year - it really has become so much easier in the last few years - I am not sure if we have just progressed really quickly or the other teams have gotten worse - but I can easily put a rotated side out and usually win (which is what I end up doing in the playoffs sometimes when Champions League matches are mid week and I want the players fighting fit) Youth Intake Excellent was the preview - but not when it arrived. a bit "meh" really - nothing exciting! One player I liked was Basumatary - mainly as he is a Centre back and Striker- nice combo! but his 2 in finishing means he is unlikely to play up top for us. Basumatary Champions League This year the biggest threat, Al-Ittihad, returned to the competition. Their team is incredible and we would have no chance, on the plus side we had 3 Indian teams in the group stage. The India is now second in the coefficient table, which is awesome. I know this isn't a build a nation save but we seem to be doing well with it! The group stage draw was kind and we managed to top the group with ease In the second round Al-Sadd, Al-Ittihad and Al-Ain were all still in it, they have all won the Champions League within the last 4 years. Another stroke of luck - we avoid all of them as we are drawn on the other side of the draw - and would only face one in the Semi Final. Al-Ittihad are knocked out in the second round by Al-Sadd, who are then knocked out in the Quarters by Al-Ain. We get through Mumbai (who are a walk in the park now) and then 8-4 win over Al-Nassr gets us to the Semi. And...we beat Al-Ain in the Semi 5-4! The Semi Final matches were intense. We were 2-1 down in the first match (which was at home too so very disappointing). In the second leg we went 3-0 at half time and it was very exciting - then they came back and leveled the score. Chakraborty scores a powerful headed goal from a corner and we take the lead. In the 89th minute they are awarded a penalty and I fall to the floor out of despair, but it was overturned by VAR (god I love VAR!!!!) Nail-biting finish but what a game! (We also got to wear our Indian flag inspired Kits which I made ) I have never been so up and down with emotion on a match (that I can remember), I kept thinking we had won it, then threw it away, I needed a break! I'm going to have a break and a cup of tea before the next matches! Update soon I promise!
  18. Thanks, I thought we had it this year, onto the next.
  19. Tony Pizza at Kerala United FC - Go Hornbills! - Season 20 Domestic Competitions The domestic competitions are very easy at the moment, clean sweep in pre season cup and Super league - 5-0 in Super League final! However in the super cup final we did actually lose (but it wasn't our most upsetting loss this year) Youth Intake Youth intake came and went - and I completely forgot to take a screenshot at the time! Pretty good year - since we have improved the facilities the youth players have looked much better - and high potential too. Pal Champions League One of our best so far. We topped our group even with difficult opposition. Knockout rounds are always hit and miss but we made it all the way to the Semi Final. We had to take on Al-Ahli from Saudi, and they proved too much. We did start a come back in the second leg but it didn't come to much. I really started to believe we might make it to the final, maybe next year??? Team of The Year D'Souza brings in the best rating this year - but this year every player has a rating above 7! Also, Valentini and Pircher (the San Marino duo) have broken into the first team and are doing well.
  20. Tony Pizza at Kerala United FC - Go Hornbills! - Season 19 Domestic Competitions Another clean sweep this year - all three of the domestics we managed to win, and honestly there isn't much competition here anymore. Youth Intake Not as spectacular as last year but I guess we can't have that success every year. The top three all look very good and the improved facilities are really working wonders. The best is Ansari Ansari Champions League Quarter finals again this year, slightly unfortunate as we lost on away goals, and the team we lost to won the whole thing - we will get there! Also, I think I have finally realised that 8 teams from East Asia and 8 from West Asia make it through the group stage and then are split up this way for the draw - this makes sense why I always got stuck with the Middle eastern teams (I probably should have worked this out sooner than 19 seasons but never mind) Team of The Year Ghosh had a terrible season with injuries, and I just couldn't get him into the team much, luckily Gurung and D'Souza made up for him, D'Souza topping the scoring charts again in the Shadow Striker Role.
  21. Tony Pizza at Kerala United FC - Go Hornbills! - Season 18 Domestic Competitions Preseson cup was a nice start, easily getting to the final and getting another trophy. In the league - we had another unbeaten season until the playoffs. We got to the final but unfortunately Mumbai beat us (from 3rd place!) and took the title. I should still get into the champions league but sometimes it goes wrong! In the super cup, we also got the win. Kolkata were no where to be seen in any tournament, so either the other teams are catching up to them or they are getting worse. Youth Intake A brilliant intake! much better than the last few years.7 Coelho comes in as our best Centre back - recently we have had a few players moaning at the lack of quality at the CB position, and this was just what we needed! Coelho Our new 15 year old 6 foot 4 giant will fit nicely at the back, As the registration rules are strict we couldn't use him this year in the league, but next year we will. Champions League We were drawn into a relatively easy group this year with Al Sadd the main competition. I was hoping to finish as best runner up again but we actually topper the group, Al Sadd were unable to beat us and they finished second. The second was pretty straight forward, and then for the quarter final draw it shows which half of the draw you will be. This year gave us the hardest route. We seemed to be on the side of the really difficult teams and all the easier ones were on the other side. We did get the furthest we have so far by getting to the semi final, but we had to play Al Ettihad - easily the best team in the competition. We went down 3-1 away, and looked like it was going to be easy for them. In the second leg we pulled it back to 3-3 (and I started to get a bit excited!) however a late winner in the 94th minute gave them the win. We actually were the better side over the two ties but our finishing cost us (also our defense I guess!) Team of The Year Ghosh was amazing again, and his performance was key in the Champions League Semi Final.
  22. Tony Pizza at Kerala United FC - Go Hornbills! - Season 17 I have decided to condense the domestic competitions into one section (I doubt anyone is interested in the match stats of the preseason cup! :P) Domestic Competitions We dominated all three competitions this year, we won the preseason cup, the super league and the super cup. and not once did we have to play Kolkata in the final which was a nice change of pace. Domestic Treble is brilliant (and as we isn't struggle at all I figured I would focus less on the domestic side and more on the Champions league (which is the important part) Youth Intake Not the best this year - only a few "top talents" but no one really stood out. Best of the bunch below Naik Asian Champions League Great year - we got through the league phase really easily, we were matched with a relatively easy group so that was nice. We got through the first knockout round but lost to Al-Ain in the Quarter finals. Al-Ain were much better than us on both legs and we had no chance really. The final is about to happen and it is Al-Ain against the league winners for Thailand - We could easily beat them so it feels like a big opportunity missed. Team of The Year As you can see the average ratings are much higher than before - probably something to do with the fact we won a domestic treble. Ghosh with the highest rating.
  23. Tony Pizza at Kerala United FC - Go Hornbills! - Season 16 Preseason Cup We seem to have an issue with this cup, not sure why but the team never bothers. They obviously know champions league is the goal so they don't take it serious - QF loss this year Youth Intake Rather a mixed bag here - crap intake but another guy from San Marino! Pircher He isn't the best but I am happy we are getting San Marino guys - he will be in and around the first team just for his nationality! Super League What a year! We were immense 1 loss all season, this was a great year - we were the better team for every game, just unlucky to get that one loss. Playoffs - we carry the form on! another title win. Asian Champions League Decent showing but not enough to get through the group - I predicted we would finish last when I saw the teams so 7 points is a good effort. Super Cup Form continued from the league and w go unbeaten again and win another trophy Team of The Year Ghosh is the man to beat, but D'Souza with 27 goals had a great year..
