    Michail Antonio

His strength in the game is 13, jumping reach is 11, work rate 14. In fact pretty much all of his abilities are a massively low. Strength at 13 though is one that should be looked at for sure.

Antonio is one of the strongest players inside the Premier League, he's been massively underrated for years on FM.

His finishing of 12 is too low, he just lacks composure sometimes,13 at least for finishing and Strength is 18 for me at least

  2. Coufal

Seems to be the worse full back at West Ham from what I've seen.

His anticipation being at a rating of only 10 makes him unusable as a full back. So that most definitely needs to be changed to 13-14.

I actually think he's our best defender in terms of sensing danger & I've watched every game of him this season.

I don't agree with his low first touch or low crossing either. First touch also has looked good and his decision making and composure look better than 11 for both.

Overall to further elaborate, In the match engine I was conceding goals always down Coufal's side because he kept letting runners in behind not knowing where they are.

He's been the opposite since joining West Ham, very switched on as a defender.

  3. I rest my case regarding Haller that his technique should be higher than 12, I'd recommend 15 at least with the scissor kicks he's performed at West Ham and also for his previous clubs.

Finishing 14 at least also because he has done well to score the goals he's had with limited chances, usually hits the target.

He always connects with the ball cleanly with the bicycle kicks and the Rabona passes he can do because the guy has clear unique ability.

  4. Bowen needs an upgrade, his technique shoulder be higher than 12. I have noticed during gameplay his corners are poor and also his

shots in general are poor due to his technique being 12.

He's already got quite a few assists from corners, and crosses in general this season.

Also Coufal needs a serious upgrade in first touch, crossing, anticipation as he's awful on the game.

He's a better footballer than FM states and our best defending full back.

  5. I've tweaked a few things to make the AI Manager(Moyes) select Rice with Soucek and Not overlook Masuaku for the Wing back position

I didn't edit any ability stats just positional stats

For Rice I made him competent for the CB position and he is now selected by the AI Manager to partner Soucek in midfield like in real life instead of

Noble always partnering Soucek EVERY game. Rice has said himself he see's himself as a midfielder now and he's never really looked that comfortable as a CB from all the games i've seen anyway and I watch every West Ham game. Vs Everton away in the Cup he was still making mistakes as a CB.

I also edited Cresswell to make him competent at LWB and he now plays within the back 3 on the left just like IRL.

Masuaku then plays as wing back.

These are great changes to replicate West ham's real line up irl and also with Cresswell playing the set pieces are more effective because he has the highest corner attribute.

I believe this should be made as a default on the next database update and this really does improve the realism for West Ham on FM.

Noble can't get into the team because of how much better Soucek and Rice have improved us and Cresswell would never play Wing back in front of Masuaku because he was struggling enough as a LB in a back 4. The wing back role would be even more demanding  and Moyes won't do that imho.

ON FM simulated seasons i've tested...West Ham actually have struggled far more than they should of done because of Rice not being in midfield with Soucek and Cresswell not being part of the back 3. Moyes gets sacked by January every time.

Cresswell gives the back line some more pace and better mental stats just like irl , adds to set plays so seems a perfect change overall what i've implemented

I've simulated almost half a season with the above changes and they are comfortable mid table which replicates them irl now

  6. A few more bits on West Ham

Haller's stats need to be looked at because even Joelinton has better heading than he does.

I believe Haller is underrated also with his vision slightly and massively with his heading ability.

He should have at least 15 for Heading and his finishing should be 14 because he's done very well to score the goals he has done for West Ham last season and this season with very limited service.

Watching the games when he's played he honestly doesn't get many chances.

Fans have seen glimpses of class with his finishing &  technical ability when he has got good service.

I have seen every game and he often makes a lot of good runs but the midfield often do not execute the passes well to him.

Often he is left as a frustrated figure because of it

Anyway as we saw vs Sheff Utd he didnt get any service and then he scored a goal shooting from long range himself.

He has always been a good goalscorer, proved it in the German League also so I think his stats should replicate this a bit more.

Vs Wolves he came on and scored with his only header in 5 mins, scored in the cup games and was clinical when he got the service.

He isn't just a standard Targetman, he is a good technical player with his feet, so I didn't understand why Haller's technique dropped from 13-12.

I was actually expecting his technique to rise to 14 and his vision is also a solid 13 for me.

You don't score the goals he has done without being a good technical striker, plus all the assists for Jovic, there have been plenty of examples of this like he is very good at volley shots also.

Antonio I think he deserves a better off the ball than 12 & 17 strength with more pace as 15 is too low for him.

He has the same Pace as Haller

I'd say the reason why he doesn't score often is more his positioning and less bad finishing. He just doesn't get into a finishing position very often. At least the last half year or so he has been very clinical if in front of goal.

Well from what i've seen he doesn't place his shots far enough away from the Goalkeeper to have a 15 finish.

Not saying he is a bad finisher just think a rating  of 15 is far too high for him.

It's not a strong point for him based on what i've seen, he's not a clinical finisher at all for me, maybe having a purple patch recently but he isn't

getting the numbers to deserve a 15 finish in each season.

Hasn't scored for England either in 5 matches

Players like Yarmolenko are a better finishers than him and he has 14 finishing,...Danny Ings & Lacazette both have 15 finishing so it doesn't really add up , this is my main point.

    Sterling has 14 finishing, Rashford 14 finishing , Martial 15, Lewin 15... see what I mean ?

Better goalscoring midfielders & Strikers who are better finishers have lower/same finishing as Grealish.

Point: Grealish has very little improvements in attributes. He is in the top 5-20 players in the league easily it would be nice if that was reflected, on form atm only Kane/Fernandes are arguably ahead. Suggested Changes: Dribbling 16 > 18, 1st Touch 15 >16, Technique 15 > 16, Passing 14 > 17, Composure 14 > 15, Acceleration 14 > 16, Pace 13 > 14, Balance 14 > 18, Jumping 7 > 10. Evidence: See below, happy to provide more upon request but not wanting to clog up the thread too much.

Very good player Grealish but i'm not convinced his finishing should be 15 which is the case on the beta, this is higher than most strikers within the game & Mason Mount who I consider to be a better goalscoring midfielder has 14 for Finishing.

For Grealish I think 12 is fair to replicate his real life finishing

So maybe a boost in other areas but he isn't that good of a goalscoring midfielder imho when you look at his career as a whole and when i've watched him play which is many many times

Great first touch and dribbling, confidence so boost to his mental stats and speed but seems to lack that end product with his finishing.

Thank you for your input @Rockywhu.  Changes have been made to many of the players since the beta version was released, and in the release version the AI Moyes should be selecting a team closer to the one that you would expect, more often.

Getting the AI Moyes to play the same players in the same positions as he did two weeks ago in real life is good, but it is not the be-all and end-all of FM research.  We also try to replicate the difference in nuance between players.  Sometimes there is very little to choose between players vying for a place in the starting line-up and the AI manager will select a different team from the one that you feel the real manager would select.  Even with that sometimes being the case, the West Ham team that you want to select should be among the very best of available options.

Cresswell will perform well at centre back.  Have you tried managing as West Ham and playing him there, as well as running a season on soak?  Cresswell has spent the vast majority of his playing career as a DL/WBL.  He also plays well as a left-sided DC in a three-at-the-back formation.  That is how he has been rated.

    Fair enough .

Apologies if i've come across as being disrespectful.

My main aim is trying to help the game become even more realistic as I believe FM is the closest realistic football simulation out there.

  10. West Ham not playing players where they should be playing

After simulating a season it's become very clear that the AI manager still prefers to play Rice CB when he's not even playing CB in real life( Rice has also never been that good as a CB)  and also Noble is still getting starts.

Maybe if Rice doesn't have CB as an accomplished Position he will get picked to start MC ? Who knows not sure how this game decides it apart from likely just being based on ability.

Noble always starts, even ahead of Soucek and Dawson is often starting ahead of Ogbonna who is pretty much always an automatic choice in the starting 11.

Soucek isn't getting consistent starts and not with Rice in midfield.

Noble needs a downgrade yet he's stayed the same with his ability

More on Dawson, he was terrible for Watford and Ogbonna was one of West Hams most consistent players last season and continuing to be this season.

He should of had a boost to match his performances

Ogbonna to only have 12 tackling I find interesting, Dawson seems to have better tackling stats but in truth IRL he can't even make the bench unless injuries happen.

Coufal as i've said is very bad with his stats, <edited drivel> with his anticipation and technical stats.

It should be very clear already how much of an improvement he is over Fredericks , Ryans distribution is poor but Coufal has proven to be far more productive going fwd and obviously defending also. Fredericks just has more pace that's it.

Cresswell is still starting as a Wing back when Masuaku should be a certain start there and also Cresswell isn't seen as a CB only once in a Full moon.

Maybe Masuaku deserves a boost to make him be more useable for Wing back, his dribbling could be higher still!

So that is another issue for me if we want West Ham to replicate real life lines up.

Overall I respect the opinions of the scouts but <edited statement with no respect is shown>.

Chilwell only having 11 crossing is very harsh. His crossing from both corners and open play has been exceptional this season.

Pulisic not being natural on the left wing despite that being his position last season (30 appearances, only 3 as a RW) and that clearly being his position going forward with Ziyech arriving.

Werner overall just looks pretty underwhelming considering the seasons he had in Germany and now his start in England.

How can Ziyech have 9 decisions with his level of creativity and the amount of assists over the past few seasons?

Grealish deserves better than 13 bravery, 11 decisions and 12 leadership. One of the most fouled players in the league and doesn't wear shin pads. If that's not brave then what is?

Amazing when Fredericks has 14 crossing and trust me this guy is awful when it comes to delivering a ball.

  12. West Ham

Coufal I have major issues with his stats - 9 crossing 9 first touch 8 vision... he's actually better than those technical stats suggest and Fredericks

certaintly does not have a better first touch, passing or better crossing than Coufal.

Mipo Odubeko isn't rated as one of our highest prospects in terms of potential, he's up there with Coventry and should be the highest rated one imho.

The Haller agenda seems to of also worked it's way into FM.

Sorry but his heading is better than 12 and his technical ability is quite underrated, he can pull off rabona passes and he's a good technical player.

Lets give him what he's good at and he shouldn't be downgraded when it's players around him who fail to give him good service.

He wins so many aerial duels and can direct a lot of flicks ons to his team mates( when they are actually near him)

He also wins a lot of defensive headers at defensive set players

His heading should be at least 14 - 15 imho

  13. It's extremely annoying.

My Barca side were on a 35 game unbeaten run then.... one narrow loss to Real Madrid and I know instantly the next few league games will likely be my players losing their bottle drawing games.

Nothing to do with my tactics either I've won the UCL 3 times in a row.

No surprise Messi has a great chance and doesn't even hit the target next game  😂

I draw 0-0 next game & just like last season after I lost to Valencia 2 0 and I have to focus on morale rather than criticise players after games.

Maybe I just praise them after a loss then? 😂

Must be a crime to criticise a player for a performance.

Morale is far too strong in this game and dependant on performances.

There is something fundamentally wrong with the game.

Second season in the Bundesliga for me and we've thrown away 11pts in the final 10 minutes of games so far this season. We always concede in the 80th minute onwards. Always. There is nothing I can do to stop it, you just sit back and wait for it to happen after a while.

Last game for example. We're at home to the team below us. They've won 3 games out of 30 in the league this season. I go one up. We then miss a penalty and they score on 79 and 89 to win the game.

I could name half a dozen other games to highlight this problem throughout the season so far.

They call it Morale Manager for a reason. Players need to be wrapped in cotton wall as they are mentally weak.

Player ability does not matter..... if Morale is low and you criticise them after a defeat

My Barca side won the Champions league twice in a row and the league last season and that was just mainly by making sure I kept morale up lol

  15. I'll tell you another problem.

Inside forwards are useless on this game as even when I have a striker free in the box they will just stop and not cross it 😂

Plenty of times I've seen it...should of been a certain goal.. it's a easy pass for the striker "Oh lets just stop as I'm told to cross less often."😂

Only way round it is to use inverted wingers and all of a sudden they cross it.

That's silly that tbh that I have to not use inside fwds roles because they wont even make a simple pass for a tap in for a striker because of the role.

True, and not just the morale coming into the match, but the trend of morale/confidence during the match.

I always keep morale high but seeing pathetic shooting with Messi.

It's just a dum match engine this year.

Need a million shots and when you finally score the moments gone and just tried of the game.

After about 120 hours of game time this year if have noticed that even the top tier strikers miss way to many one on one clear cut opportunities. It can't be right that you don't score after 8 clear cut opportunities. And that is sadly not a rare occurrence. On a regular basis it takes about 5-6 clear cut opportunities to score 1 goal. My tactic aims to create one on ones by short passing bacause thats how I think football is at its best. If you are forced to play another way (use longshots as much as you can) to have a chance. The game (matchengine) is not fun or realistic in my eyes. It would be great if you would look into this.

Sadly I had to stop playing the game until this gets fixed.

    Kind regards

I'm Barcelona mate and I'm seeing Antonio Greizmann, Suarez and Messi even...Yes leo Messi missing chances like Dominic Solanke consistently!

That sums up the state of finishing.

Gotta be the worst finshing on a ME I've ever seen and I've played every Football Manager for years.
