  1. Looking for some help , I'm trying to find a way to export part of an existing .fmf file (a number of clubs and leagues/divisions) that I want to work on separate from a larger, older file, so that in turn it can be re-added to a larger USA file that has updated rules for FM22 (or later versions).

Is there a way to do this at all?  The reason I need it is because the rules of the last file (from FM20) aren't relevant now due to changes in US soccer (we have completely new teams pop up, and even have a new league next year).  As such, the file is massive and has a lot of extraneous stuff year to year as it's typical for these community files to put in future expansion, or speculative stuff that isn't 100% accurate.

I basically want to get everything from a competition out (Comps, Clubs, Awards) and then put into a fresh loaded DB.  It will make year-to-year updates significantly easier and less errors.  Doing the work - which involves some 200+ clubs - is an enormous undertaking that simply isn't viable to do annually without keeping a file separate.

Any instructions, ideas or work arounds would be greatly appreciated.  Only thought I've had so far is to go back through and removed the other 50,000 odd changes, which isn't exactly appealing either.

    Happy Holidays/Merry Christmas!

I'm in the second season now and have just receive my B-team with New York City FC. Problem is that a couple of players gets moved to the b-team automatically . I move them to the first team but the next day they are back in the b-team. Am I missing something or what is going on? Actually they are both in the first team and the b-team, even though I've made them unavailable for the b-team

Please upload your save and @Sebastian Szlenkier can log it.

I know the fact the B team doesn't play any games is logged, which is as much as I can do (I'm the MLS researcher - I don't code, or have any control over MLS code other than to make requests).

This seems to be because the window is currently listed as having closed after the roster freeze date. We assume that the roster freeze date would still be around 1st September like it was scheduled for this year.

Should all transfer windows close before the roster freeze date every year in that case @Aljarov? Similarly, do you expect the roster freeze date always to be around this time of year?

    Thanks

Roster freeze is typically 15th September, that's the close of the window effectively.  Next window is post-season.

Hi, thanks for your on-going input on the US data stuff.  However, you don't need to post current transfers in 'data issues' forum.  Work on the assumption that we are on top of those, however, there is always a cut off for data changes ahead of a release.  Both the Chinoso and the Austin staff were completed internally on the day of their announcements.

What this forum is for is for things that are incorrect, older, have been missed.

Given the time of year there's going to be a massive amount of turnover and signings in MLS, and those don't need to be posted here.

In my second season with NYCFC, the NYCFC II team was introduced. When this happened the game told me they'd be playing a league and asked me to assign a coach to them. Months later, the team has ZERO staff members, and they don't play ANY matches unless I schedule friendlies for them.

I was just testing this actually and have logged it. Two main issues - one they don't get any games, which is its own problem, but it's a developmental dead-end for youngsters and especially those out the academy.

    Thanks

I started the game in late 2020, and there isn't a MLS Cup winner for 2020.

The 2020 MLS cup winner hasn't been decided.  We will add the record after the final.  In the short term this will mean a gap, but should be corrected when ready.  I'm updating MLS Awards etc as we go.   Just a 2020 quirk for now though.

FC Cincinnati seem to have the stadium move to the new West End stadium missing they are expected to move in around March 2021

Also the training ground is no longer Xavier University Complex but the club moved to a new complex called the Mercy Health Training Center FC Cincinnati Academy also play here it has 500 seats.  The club own the training center.

The public beta didn't have the final usa.edt (for future moves) this was corrected a few weeks ago ahead of release.  I'll look into the training stuff, cheers.

The Mercy Health Training Complex  had been created but not swapped.  Have submitted this change now - thank you.

Liam Doyle is not from London he's from Douglas [Isle of Man]

Where does it say he's from London?  IOM falls under England in the DB.  He didn't have Douglas assigned as City of Birth, but I've added that.  I was aware he was from there - I'm 1/8th Manx myself actually and spent my summers there as a kid and my grandparents house.

I have added Douglas to his City of birth.

Paul Arriola of DC United is listed as having no past injuries. While I don't expect all of his past injuries to be in here, he is just returning from an ACL Rupture that kept him out of most of the 2020 season. As a result, I think he's also probably over valued at $4.3 million at the beginning of a save. While I know Transfermarkt isn't gospel, they only have him at $3.3 million.

INJ was added after the beta.  Double-checking though, I noticed I had omitted the INJ type, so that just got submitted.

In my save, he's listed as the Assistant Manager, a position he's held since the start of the game, apparently. The starting manager of the NYRB in FM21, is apparently Tony Jouaux.

I found what this was...Jouaux accidentally had Manager as a secondary job.  This looks like my mistake and has been submitted for correction.  Thanks for catching.

Could you add Kamron Habibullah, Nathan Demian, Emiliano Brienza, Frixos Petsas (Vancouver Whitecaps FC) Matthew Catavolo, Sean Rea, Benjamin Collins (Montreal Impact) Eleias Himaras, Rohan Goulbourne, Kobe Franklin and DeAndre Kerr (Toronto FC).
These are top youngsters for their countries (Mostly Canada, but there are few exceptions), are being called up for youth teams, most of them took part in the U19 World Cup in 2019. They are all missing from the database.

    Their TM profiles:

Cannot be included due to legal issues.  We are not allowed to include any MLS academy players on any team.  They can only be added if/when they sign a pro contract.

  12. Player on trial then signed, press conference thinks he 'returned' to club for second spell

To recreate, start MLS game.  Invite Rafael Galhardo on trial and then sign.  I was austin (he was available for ~$260k wage)

Once sign, at the press conference he will be described as returning to the club.  Can only imagine it's due to trial (which he was actively on before signing, not even over).  Brand new team so zero previous players exist.

A couple small points with respect to the Montreal Impact:

Mustafa Kizza is no longer on loan in Uganda and has played for Montreal last week:

Luis Binks' loan was extended until Dec 31, 2021 yesterday:

    https://www.impactmontreal.com/en/post/2020/11/11/defender-luis-binks-impact-2021

Lassi Lappaleinen's loan was also extended to the end of December 2021:

    https://www.impactmontreal.com/en/post/2020/11/04/impact-extends-lassi-lappalainens-loan-2021

    Cheers!

Loans already fixed ahead of release.

Kizza is due to return from his loan on 12/31 in the DB, which while > than now, it's not going to impact the game because the game starts after the conclusion of the 2020 MLS season.  Still, I'll see if I can have the date changed - it was already requested but hasn't been processed yet.

Nashville only start with 2 Designated Player slots but should have 3. The third slot I believe is currently used on Jhondor Cadiz in real life but he has a "Senior" contract in game due to him being on loan. The lack of 3rd DP slot will be a big detriment to the club going forward.

This is already fixed.  Beta is a bit behind.  It's due to loan DP's requiring a special line to be added in the USA.edt file which wasn't completed prior to the public beta.

  15. The roster retention numbers have been an issue for years.  Having a minimum number of 15 in the rules is unhelpful, but there seems to be logic issues with signing HG players this year contributing to it.  There's not really an area in MLS rosters for developing players....and there needs to be.  AI is too quick to say 'this kid can't contribute today' and cut them, rather than considering that they're a) high potential b) young c) resaleable d) cheap/free to cap e) they have the space.

My soak I found teams generally around 22-24 players, with the exception of B team clubs (and then only those with B/II in the name, not Loudoun or RGV for example), which were more like 12-14 with the others on the B side.
