  1. Sorry guys, I have some general problems with upload on my PC. Trying to solve it.
  2. Trying to upload my save, but when attach it, nothing happens It just stays empty and nothing is attached. I will try different explorer.
  3. I have finally managed to get to the game and found these two goal situations. Both crosses from the same player and from half-space. A looked at the post-match analytics and none of the assists was counted as a cross, so maybe that's a part of the problem. I unfortunately don't have time to go through the whole half-season, but I scored probably 4-5 goals like this including pre-season in this save.
  4. Hopefully I'll get to my game in upcoming week. I will send some pics when possible My mistake there. I started my tactic with wide playmaker, but later experimented with wide midfielder role with cut inside and cross more often instructions. I am generally trying to recreate David Beckham at Man Utd. He was getting into half-space near the penalty area very often and crossed or shot from there. I also have overlap instrictuion on the right. My full back is on attack. I honestly never looked at the crosses in post match analytics. But scored quite a few goals from the far post after a cross from half-space.
  5. My rightfooted wideplaymaker on support in RM position with cross more instruction helped me with that 👌
  6. Thanks. I tried WM-S and he was definitely more responsible, but I also wanted kind of mix of central and wider movement from him. I would also say that David Beckham was WM-S, but in FM the role (at least in my save) is quite wide and deep. I comprehend classic Beckham movement much more aggressive and more central - mainly when Neville was going up and pushed him inside into the shooting or short crossing range near the corner of penalty area (let's say half-space). This video could maybe better explain what I am trying to achieve: I will definitely think about DW role on the left. That's really interesting idea Pass into space was one of the instructions I used in some of the testing matches, but I haven't seen much difference yet. Will have to take a further look to decide if I make it permanent. And I am also curious about your tip with F9 role for McGoldrick. DLF-S is kind of my personal homage to my favourite player Dennis Bergkamp But F9 could be interesting. McGoldrick is all over the place in some matches, but scored 5-6 goals and also provided 6-7 assists to Langstaff in the testing matches. He is also quite responsible defensively, intercepts a lot. Will try F9 for him if he is able to work like that in this role.
  7. Thanks. I actually played little bit with the overlap instruction and left it there because of the idea that wingback is pushing my WP to the more central area. But I know it slows down tempo and maybe I am generally wrong. As far as I remember and studied Beckham movement he was going central very often and created plenty of shooting positions for himself, although of course when the time was right he was crossing roughly from the corner of penalty area (or deeper and little bit wider). Here in the pic I try to ilustrate what I would like to achieve regarding the average position in attack and what are the average positions of the roles I tried. (WP-S is closest to my original idea of higher half-space position) Btw. Dan Crowley from my Notts County squad is also central midfielder used on right, kind of similar type to James Ward-Prowse
  8. Thanks everybody for the input! I worked many of the tips into my tactic and started testing. This is how my 4-4-2 looks now. I changed to postiive mentality as balanced was not proactive enough. I ditched the DLP in the central area and moved this role to the right side as it is harder for opposition to pick him up. Left winger is on attack to provide more layers of danger and SV in the central area is trying to connect the lines. DM is also quite handy in providing options for everybody. Changed my main scorer to poacher to be more selfish and less creative with his posititong (but AF isn't out of the game). I also implemented wingback on the right side to provide width when WP comes inside. I tried FB-A in this position, but he was leaving too much space behind. WB-S seems to be little bit more responsible. Regarding the testing I won in all 6 pre-season friendlies including Everton (3:2). Until now tested the tactic in 7 competitive matches (league + cup) and I won everything except one, in which I conceded in the 2nd and 3rd minute (fast attack through my RB + corner) and couldn't score although my xG was twice as high as my opponent's. Also my left back has a PI to cross from deep as he is one of the best crossers in the competition and could provide assists for my main scorer. My only concerns: WP position. I am thinking about putting him on attack as I want him little bit higher on average and also get into shooting range near the opposition area, but also provide some crosses from deeper or wider positions. Something similar to David Beckham at Man Utd. But I would say Becks was more of a support player. So I don't like the attack duty on him that much. Unfortunately with WP-S I can't give him PI to cross more or cross from deep and WM-S doesn't work that much similar to WP even with cut inside PI. And the WB position. As I said in comparsion with FB-A he copes better with tracking back, but still isn't as responsible as I would like him to be. Most of the conceded goals in the testing matches came through him. I also tried WB-D, but he wasn't providing enough attacking width for WP. I would like him to be something like a decoy in the attacking half, but not bombing up at every opportunity. Yes, something like Gary Neville behind Becks. But I realise It must be really hardworking player with top notch stamina.
  9. Notts are predicted to finish in top 5, but on the other hand they are newly promoted team from the 5th tier. So there is a little inbalance Of course not much money to bring in new key players. It's little bit inestimable. But the team is half-decent generally and I agree I can be more risky with the duites/mentality. I just don't want to overdo it as balance is the key factor for me.
  10. Yes, I will test it as soon as my toddler allows me to Regarding the midfield, you are right. I was also thinking about DLP-S and SV-S combo. But my main player for SV role is good physically, not very good technically. I will check his work during the testing. Full backs need some work. I didn't want to have a wingback in 4-4-2, but I think I can use at least one of them with attack duty. Also the left winger could work well on attack. Will test it.
  11. Hi model citizens, please, be so kind and take a look at my 4-4-2 system. I am preparing a new save with Notts County in League Two and wanted to make a balanced and reliable 4-4-2 tactic to cope well in very even competition, but haven't had enough time to test it properly yet. I would like to know if you at the first (or second) glance see anything wrong. What are possible shortcomings or errors I made. What would you personally change if it was your save. Of course, anyone is free to reply, although I would deeply appreciate any input from @herne79, @crusadertsar and @Cloud9 who I suposse have some experience with 4-4-2. This is the whole tactic with no further instructions. It's simple but I have put some thought in the roles. For specific matches I will probably slightly tweak some duties. Probably mainly the left winger (support/attack) and right full back (support/attack). The only PIs for now are related to WM on the right side (sit narrower, get further forward). Thanks and cheers!
  12. Thanks, I'll try to ask at their support site. Can definitely recommend for previous versions. Nice sharpen, HDR etc. tools, which can really enhance the experience 👍
  13. It worked for previous years. So I don't think it is necessary for FM to be a part of NVIDIA programme. Maybe something changed for this edition, maybe it is not supported for this edition, but I couldn't find any information. Thanks for the answer anyway.
  14. Hi model citizens (and NVIDIA users) just a quick question about NVIDIA filters. I used to sharpen and enhance my game with these in FM23 and older versions, but it doesn't seem to work in FM24. Does anyone have any idea why? Or did anyone make it work? Thanks and cheers
  15. In my experience real life footbal is always like that. Before the match, in the match or after match if you dig deep enough you can always see what is/was leading to the freakish result. But it's maybe my mistake that I comprehend football in my own way and expect a PC game to be like that too. Of course, I accept the points of both of you, guys. I didn't want to sound like someone who can't accept losing. That is not true. I am playing this game for more than 23 years now and believe me, I lost so many matches. Even by score this high. But this for the first time seemed different. Yes, that's true. It's my nature to over-analyze things on the verge of madness But in many ways it helped me to get better.
  16. Sorry, but there is no need for sarcasm. Of course, I am not expecting that. I am expecting usual hints that my players are nervous or not feeling well. Not feeling physicaly strong against the specific opposition as the normally do. There was nothing like that. When I said predicted I meant it more like in the way that there are many tangible or untangible factors leading in to it. And when you see the first minutes of the match you can spot tactical or mental shortcomings. Or you can find some new info after the match. That the players had a fight in the locker room, hate each other and if you knew before, you could predict that this match will end badly. I am not a native speaker so some of my expressions are probably not exact, but please, try to understand me without sarcasm. Maybe expect is a better word.
  17. Yes, of course I've taken all this into account when thinking about it. But I have built my squad around that idea and I would say they are almost all mentally stable big match players. Haven't found any weakness there. And the game haven't provided any info, that my players are nervous or afraid. And on top of that, they already went through this match at Celtic park two times and did well. So I wouldn't expect them to crumble so hard just because it was important match (but not decisive) in title fight which was not expected by anyone anyway. They were all strongly motivated, we even had team meeting before. I like the perfect storm idea, though That might be the possibility.
  18. They can be predicted or expected, but that doesn't mean they will definitely happen. There is just a good chance they will. And no, I am not infallible as a manager. But in this case the game just haven't provided anything to predict or expect freakish result as it usually does. Or matches in real life do.
  19. Yes, they happen. But as I wrote above in real life almost all of the freak results can be predicted. I usually watch about 250-300 football matches a year and there are always tactical shortcomings or other complex factors leading to this type of results. In other words they do not happen without a reason. That's my whole point.
  20. I appreciate your reply and of course understand where are you comming from. I am very pragmatic and the tactical side of things is maybe the most important for me as the game got so complex in years. So when I execute some really elaborate tactical plan supported by the right transfers and it works longterm in the game it's hard for me to understand why the game suddenly ignores all the factors that worked almost flawlessly and throw it all to bin at one moment. As I said I wouldn't mind losing by two or three goals and see some terrible mistakes by my players or holes in my system. Injuries, bad morale, players nervous etc. But there was nothing like that, no hints, no factors leading to it. My players just suddenly didn't play at all. They were like chess figures. Like if someone changed their attributes and tactical familiarity from 100 to 0 just for this match and on. I welcome the challenge of hard opponents in the games, I learn from it. But Celtic didn't change anything tactically or personally in the line-up in comparsion with the previous h2h matches. So why the sudden huge difference? As I watch the real football these freakish results are always predictable in my eyes. There are so many factors going into the mix and you can always find something that went wrong. Tactical or other. But I didn't in my save. Maybe I just want too much from a PC game and the problem is in my head I don't think the game is rigged or fixing against the user. That's proven wrong and it doesn't my sense on SI behalf. I am more like thinking that the game in its mechanisms just evaluated that there will be a huge possibility of freakish or unpredictable result (no matter who is playing against who), because otherwise I see nothing that should bring so sudden change in all the factors. English is not my native language, so I hope it makes at least some sense
  21. To win in four even matches with the slightest margain mainly thanks to set-pieces when you are just a slight outsider and have significantly improved your team isn't that surprising. (Maybe the squad building part is too easy and gamey for users, I took a huge advantage of that, because I have spent every penny on players I wanted to bring specifically for my tactics. AI is not so good at that. And real life Hearts of course didn't improve their squad like that too.) But to get smashed by the opposition like that with no change in their tactics and squad after I haven't been beaten by anybody except Rangers (by one goal) is gamey in my eyes. As I said, I don't mind losing, I didn't like the "over the top" way it came. Maybe if you saw my team and all the mentioned matches, you would be more understanding of my view. But I appreciate your opinion and thanks for it.
  22. Well, it honestly did not, because I have won 1:0, 1:0, 2:0 and 1:0 in the cup. These were very even matches with chances on both sides and in at least two occassions I won thanks to my really well prepared set-pieces. Just to add info: I brought in three centre backs above 190 cm and with heading and jumping reach at least 15. Robert Snodgrass, my deeplying playmaker, has curling corners at 15 too and that gave me slight advantage in these even matches which would otherwise maybe finish as draws. I really put a lot of work and time into this as my board wished. If the scenario was that I won all of them, but Celtic was better team in all of them, I would say it was gamey. Yes.
  23. I see your point. But Arsenal did not lose to Man Utd in their invincible season. As far as I remember the 8:2 trashing came in quite inconsisent times, didn't it? That's where I am getting at. If it was average season for my Hearts team, I would accept it without any hesitance. But that for me just felt gamey. Thanks for the input, though.
