  1. I've recently been experimenting with using some OI in my tactic but I've got a bit of an issue.

In an attempt to avoid having to manually set them every game I've used the Position tab within the Opposition Instructions section. I've set AML/AMR to always be closed down and tackled hard.

However I can't see any indication in game that those instructions are being applied to those positions. They don't show on the OI screen that you can view during matches and my assistant will still recommend tactical changes that should be applied automatically. Case in point in my current game against Man City, Raheem Sterling is playing as an AMR, my instructions should see him being closed down more and tackled hard, but my assistant manager still makes the recommendation that we should close him down.

Do positional OI actually work? Is there any way to see if they're actually being used?

  2. As the title says really, what is your favourite example of a time when you were a proper one man team, all of your success down to a single player.

Personally I'm doing a save starting with Bath City in non-league, got promoted twice in the first two seasons to find myself in League 2 where I somehow managed to get Ricky-Jade Jones on loan from Norwich.

Well let's just say that 18 pace and acceleration might be slightly overpowered for this league!

Playing a two-striker formation his strike partners just aren't getting a look in.

The brilliant thing is we're being outplayed in almost every game, the rest of our team is far too weak for this league but because of him we can play about 8 men behind the ball at all times and know that if we just keep lumping it over the top he'll probably score!

Wait for the posts telling you its your tactics or your players or your management style . Nothing you say will determine if your correct or not . Personally think results are known before the 3D game is played but what you do in that game can change the outcome but to what effect im not sure . This post will get blocked because we cant have negativity or criticism of the game . Maybe try another team to see what happens

Stop talking nonsense. Criticism or negative feedback has always been allowed on here. Sometimes posts are closed with the user told to go and post in the official feedback thread if it is the right place for it, and of course if the post is offensive, rude, full of swearing or includes personal attacks on SI or members of the team then it will be closed but in those cases it's because of the behaviour of the user who made the post not because of the criticism they levelled.

Actually I mean deterministic. Absolutely no doubt about it. The algorithms that runs the match engine make results mostly pre-determined against high quality teams.

Just had my top of the league team beaten 7 times in a row away at liverpool. we're favourites and i've taken the lead every time. Have tried attacking on the lead and defending on it. I'm top of the league. all players have really good morale, match fitness,, etc.

What's really obvious is that we've had way more shots in all but 1 game. Way more. They're not outside the box shots either, they're in front of goal, inside the mx.  The final straw was the last straw- goal on 91 minutes.

    Diferent formations ch time. e.

This game is a nonsense and full of it.

Come on then, upload your save game so we can all have a go and let's see how many people can win the game that you think is unwinnable.

I play on 2D and comprehensive highlights with goals replay in 3D. Can’t play on comprehensive highlights and 3D, drives me nuts.

Have you tried it with the data analyst view?

Up until FM19 I stuck with 2D but the data analyst view with a high camera angle works brilliantly for me. It's close enough to overhead, and zoomed out enough, that you can see the entire pitch and see exactly what is going on in all areas but has a bit more life to it because of the 3d.

If I had to guess based on those statistics with absolutely no context, 0-2.

However given that you've felt the need to make this thread I'm going to say that it was probably 1-0 to Grimbsby.

I should also point you in the direction of the countless games of football that have happened in real life where a team has been completely on the back foot for 90 minutes and has come away with the win. Quite frankly if you look across the top 4 flights of English football you get one game a week where a team has been steamrollered all game but still taken home 3 points.

I thought I'd ask here because a quick review of the offside rule didn't give me an answer. I was just called offside on a goal that the other team put in their own goal. Is that possible?

If one of your players was interfering with play when the final ball into the area was played then they can still be offside and cause play to be stopped.
