Good idea, They used to do something similar over on Sortitioutsi , time based challenges with certain teams.

I've just been sacked from my English non-league save so I'm looking for something new until I settle on a long term save, this certainly appeals.

By all means give this a whirl! I really like that it's just a nice short save that anyone can have a go at and the competitive element just adds to the fun!

3. Welcome to the 3 Year Challenge! This is a fun challenge I came up with a few years back originally just with a couple of friends. When I got into streaming it became a little popular and now it's something that I love to do each year. Take a look at how it works below:

Rules

I will pick a team that everyone must manage in the series. The aim is to manage that team for 3 seasons and try to be as successful as possible. Along the way you will earn points for cup wins, league points and individual manager awards. At the end of the three seasons, tally up your points and see where you rank compared to everyone else!

Setting up the database is easy. It's completely up to you what leagues you have loaded in and what size database you are using. You MUST start with the original Football Manager mode though.

The editor is of course not allowed and you MUST disable the first transfer window. No signings are to be made until January in your first season.

Points

Add up league points at the end of each season

5 points for champions league and your domestic league
4 for Europa league
3 for Europa conference league
2 for any other cup
1 for European qualification of ANY kind
5 manager of the year
2 for manager of the month
-5 for relegation
+ 5 promotion

If sacked, player must start again but can only play seasons adding up to 3. (If sacked season 1, start again but
only play 2 further seasons = total 3)

And now the moment everyone is waiting for...what club is first?

Well...

We will be taking charge of Hamburg in the German second division!

If you're unsure of the rules have a look at the video and hopefully I have explained it a little clearer!

Best of luck to anyone playing along also!

4. Halstead Town FC

The club was formed in 1879 following a meeting of 16 "interested gentlemen" in the Town Hall. In the early years friendlies were played against local villages before the club became members of the North Essex League in 1894.The first trophy of note was winning the Essex Junior Cup in 1902, beating Chingford 2-0 in the final at Chelmsford.

The club celebrated its 140th anniversary in 2019.

Halstead Town have had a prolonged period in Division 1 but this season (22/23) we see our return to Step 5 after 15 years, albeit in the Essex Senior league which we haven’t graced for 24 years. The return coming via the play-off’s at the end of the 2021/22 season in which we overcame great odds to secure a 2-1 victory at Buckhurst Hill

The story so far...

2023/24

A new era for Halstead Town as FunnySeaSider joined the club as their full time manager. He very quickly put his philosophy into action, making the most of the talented wide players at his disposal. A season of ups an downs saw Halstead exceed all expectations and battle their way into a playoff place at the end of the season. They fought bravely against teams from across the county leagues but fell at the final hurdle, losing 0-3 to Histon in the playoff final. Halstead fans did however enjoy a phenomenal FAVase run in which Halstead went all the way to the final and came out victorious. The first of many trophies as Halstead boss we hope!

2024/25

The belief remained and with many new players coming in, Halstead hit the ground running in Season 2. A wobble in late September and October may have knocked most team's confidence but the Humbugs kept their heads up. By late October they were back to winning ways and went on a fantastic run which eventually sealed their title win and automatic promotion to the Isthmian League North Division!

2025/26

Halstead head into the ILND with hopes of staying away from a relegation battle and perhaps even getting a mid table finish. But first, a squad rebuild is necessary!

5. Fixtures announced for the Essex Senior League 2022/23 season!

spacer.png

Halstead Town kick off their season against newly relegated side, Witham. Witham are 2-1 favourites with the bookies to go back up this year so will prove a tough opener for the Humbugs. In their fifth game of the season, Halstead welcome a familiar foe in Harwich, to Rosemary Lane. Halstead close out their season against Sporting Bengal United who are hoping to avoid a relegation battle this season.

Halstead are currently predicted to finish in 14th place. They will be looking to the experienced heads of Harris and Pavett, as well as the abundance of youth players coming through, to avoid a relegation scrap and establish themselves within the league.

6. Halstead Town bring in two familiar faces to kick off their summer activity!

spacer.png

Ian Mackay joins the Humbugs on a permanent basis after a successful loan spell at the club last season. A young left back with a tremendous amount of pace and the ability to play anywhere down that left hand side. Hopefully a handful for the Essex Senior league sides this season.

The second signing of the summer is another very familiar face and it is the man who scored 24 goals in 24 games, in all competitions last season. Anthony Prospere joins on $40 a week for a year. Fans will be hoping he can continue the form he showed last season.

Halstead Town

A brief history

You join us, two seasons deep into our career at Step 11 side, Halstead Town. The Humbugs had a rollercoaster of a first season, starting off strong in a tough league. However the second half of the season proved tricky as Halstead trailed off and struggled to find a run of form. Third place was the best they could muster come the end of May.
Going into the second season, fresh loan signings gave the team hope and a mixed start to the league soon transformed into a fantastic run of form which saw Halstead drop no lower than 2nd place throughout the rest of the season. It was champagne all around as Halstead celebrated their first promotion and a league title!
In my third year as Head coach at Halstead, I will be leading them into the abyss of the Essex Senior League. Can we solidify our position in that league? Can we push for a back to back promotion? Only time will tell.
