It's been my longest ever FM save (and I started playing with Championship Manager 1 back in the day). Spent several days straight just scouting players only for them to turn me down for clubs in the league below. Once I made it to league 2 it's been pretty easy. But the none-league seasons were really tough with such a low reputation and zero budget. I bought 1 player in all those seaons, the others were all frees. Many are still inculded in the "Greatest Team", which is pretty cool. I have lost in 9 semi finals along the way too, so the trophy cabinet could look better. Also won the World Cup, Euros twice and the league of nations thing several times managing France, Italy and as of today Spain.

They were my biggest rival too and cost me Promotion in the playoffs, not that they went up either. Had a few cup defeats too. When i went up the next season I encounted Wythenshawe Town which caused me to double take. They stood out as I was born in Wythenshawe hospital, which is my one and only visit IRL

the stadium took 2 years to bulid and was planned when i was in league 1 or 2. in a previous IoM save in FM22 maybe, I moved to Goodison Park, but only when i was upgrading the stadium. I think it was 8,000 before then. no sign of any minimum requirements. only news item was to enter the Football League and I was given 2 years to meet the requirements (in the current save they are building a whopping 2,000 extra seats for me) *actually this has just happened now One thing i did find is that its really easy to find OP staff. I had a DoF who was Premier League standard while none league asking for minimal wages. only issue is that they come on a one year contract and move on at the end of the season, but it helps to have a good scout. My National League setup carried me through for years (players, staff etc)

Great save, very impressed I'm in a relagation scrap with my IoM save. I wanted to have a youth only save but after the first promotion the money dried up and the board wouldnt improve the youth facilities etc (for the next 8 seaons). I only got to use a handful of youth players and even then nobody made more than a few apperances. I also got kicked out of the stadium as it wasnt fit for purpose in the Football League and relocated to Barrow. This is my first season back on the island in a 5k seater stadium. The plan is to max out the facilites and still have a youth only save. Now I'm in the Prem that can happen as I finally have money in the bank

this is the biggest issue for me. you need to rest all the outfield players, so to get to the final of the world cup it means playing a 2nd 11 in 3 games along the way.

He was part of the same national youth team as Freddy Gaurin. I think it was pretty succesful and had other highly touted players. He won the caps after the Lazio move, I guess it was due to the u20s sucess and the assumption that he'd make it at Lazio. They had two other South Americans (Muslera & Carrizo) ahead of him so dont think he even made the bench. Bit of a Cherno Samba/Brutil Hose CM/FM story He came onto the scene at the same time as Igor Akinfeev the CSAK GK. I think a lot of FM players at the time would buy one or the other I did a Evigado save back in the day because of the two of them. But after both of them eventually left for Europe i lost interest. The number of games are crazy so took forever to play. I loved the team colours, very underated

Only 2 pages in, but I've been bursting to say this since the first mention of Colombian goalkeepers. Freddy Guarin came with Libis Arenas from Envigado. A wonderkid GK in many of my earlier FM saves. A real blast from the past for me

As I have finished the first page of fixtures thought it woudl be a good time to share my results. Didnt helf that my star player Ouedrago was poached by Dortmond. They also recalled my starting LB Rothe as wasnt playing him in their desired role. Means I have lots of chemistry and familiarity to build with a couple of regen wonderkids. IMO the results have been really good

go on i'll give it a go for a season. about to start my 5th with Dynamo Dresden. I've got a full on rebuild to do and I loved using one of your earlier tactics on a previous FM
