  1. SOLVED: Had to go to each individual Round > TV Type > make sure it's unticked. Then it starts using the TV dates
  2. SOLVED: For future googlers, I set the Stadium to "Ask Competition Neutral (Exclude Home)" and it started using the stadium pool. "Ask Competition Neutral" just used the home stadium for whatever reason. I also had to set up Host Nation(s)
  3. I have a superleague DB based in England with Nation Rules setup. For my preseason Supercup I'd like it to bounce around randomly between big stadia outside England across the world. I have set the Stadium Rules to get these stadia. I have checked "Neutral stadium uses stadium from list". I have set the match to play at a Neutral stadium. However, the match never chooses one of the stadia. In-game, it is played at "Unknown Stadium" and the game crashes if the user team partakes in the match. When running a test in the pre-game editor, the competition correctly creates the Stadium Pool, but for some reason the match won't use any of them. I have noticed this elsewhere when doing Stadium Pools/neutral site matches - only English stadia are ever utilized. Any solution?
  4. In Advanced Rules, I spent time putting together a TV schedule for a few rounds of a custom Cup . The cup completely ignores the TV Dates however. It will acknowledge and properly use Offset Dates (either on the Dates tab or the Offset Dates tab) but I want to control the TV Type as well. Any thoughts on why it would be doing this? Other leagues throughout my system properly utilize the TV Dates. I do have Cup > General > Should Fixture Still Be Televised? ticked. I have Round Defaults > Tv Type set to Satellite so un-moved games are on satellite by default. I tested with this value empty but no help. I've used Match Times and Rules > Fixture Dates to and then set the Round > Dates > Match 1 to this date for the initially schedule match date with hopes of the TV schedule then being used. I also tested without this Fixture Date and instead manually set the date on the Round > Dates tab but not help. I've attached the TV Dates reference, any idea if I might be missing a setting or something?
  5. Currently I have 3 sets of rules (Y1, Y2, Y3, Y3) for this league which loop through every 3 years. For Y1 I have the league stage and promotion playoff both set to Store League History (like pictured above) For Y2 only the league stage has this set, not the promotion playoff For Y3 league stage and promotion playoff both do not have it set However each produces the same result, separate league history entries for league stage and promotion playoff
  6. I have promotion playoffs in a few of my leagues, and only one of them adds two separate League History entries each season - one for the regular league and another for the promotion playoffs. I have played with the "Store League History" checkbox in advanced rules (tried it on for the regular season and promotion playoffs, tried it off for both, tried it on for one and not the other) but I get this result regardless for this league. What do I need to change to just get one entry for the regular season? Ignore the league name it's not the Championship
  7. rusty is spot on, Bundesliga relegation playoff showed how to do this specifically. I've settled on T5 bottom 1 / T6 top 1 are auto promoted/relegated, and the next 15 teams each direction enter a 3-group x 10-team league stage which results in up to 15 teams promoted from T6 and 15 teams relegated from T5. Thank you very much for the help @rusty217 ! Cheers
  8. I am. I have made changes so instead of a whole new Cup, the Culling is now a stage in Tier 5 and I am not using any teams from Tier 7. Three teams per group. This is how the quals are set up - the 16 group winners qualify for Tier 5 (Porsche) and the Domestic Cup (Fiat), and the other 2 teams go to Tier 6 (Fluxys) Unfortunately I am getting the same exact issue - the second season after the Culling, Tier 6 teams who were put into Tier 5 are moved back into Tier 6 and vice versa. I'm not sure how to interpret your comment about Qualify (Using Positions) - is there a better way to do it that would register the correct division?
  9. I have a custom 7 tier system. Tiers 1-5 operate separately from tiers 6-7 in regards to pro/rel. 10 teams from T6 go down to T7 and vice versa. Otherwise no interaction with T1-5. Except every 5 years, when the bottom half of T5, entire T6, and top half of T7 go into a cup tournament (The Culling) to redistribute those teams. Group winners go to T5, Group losers go to T7, others go to T6. This seems to work correctly and the year immediately following this tournament, the teams play in their correct leagues. However, one year after that (tournament + 2), the teams all go back. Tier 5 will not Get any teams who started in T6 or T7. Here is how I have the rule set up. This is Tier 5. For testing, I have manually set the rule years, and for only 2025 I have that separate "Culling" ruleset which ends the league earlier and sends the bottom half to the Culling. I have this rule setup for T5, T6, and T7 Here is how I'm getting the teams for Tier 5. First rule just gets all teams and is set to end in 2024. No team rules for 2025 in this ruleset. Then in 2026 only I get the teams from the Culling in addition to the other 14 teams who should be there (relegated from T4 as well as teams who didnt get promoted to T4 but didnt go to The Culling. ) The problem happens in 2027. That rule refuses to Get teams who began the game in T6 or T7 and breaks testing by only having 25-28 teams. Here is an example of the T5 2026 team rule working. Burnley came from T6 (Fluxys), won their Culling group, and played 2026 in T5. They didn't get promoted from T5 and there is no relegation. They should remain in the league for 2027. But here is the 2027 Get rule. It only pulls 28 teams instead of 30 and all 8 teams (including Burnley) that came from T6 or T7 are missed. A couple notes from debugging: -The teams ignored by the 2027 T5 rule wind up back in the league they came from during the Culling season. -I have U19 and U23 youth groups set up which mirror T1-7. These groups do not accurately reflect redistribution from the Culling. For example, Burnley's youth teams played the 2026 season still in youth Group 6 rather than youth Group 5 It feels like teams don't "Stick" after the Culling - i.e. they are not being permanently reassigned to the new leagues. This might be an issue with the way the Culling does promotion/relegation since it's potentially not recognized as part of the pyramid, since it's a separate tournament that is only played intermittently? Can cups even be used to correctly qualify teams into other divisions? Finally here's the basic settings for the Culling in case something here is immediately notable. Thank you in advance!
  10. Haven't worked with Team Pools at all actually so that'll be next to figure out, thanks
  11. Definitely a step in the right direction, thanks for pointing out the ignore teams box. The problem now is that the teams who qualified from The Culling AND were in the top 16 of Tier 3 are initially pulled in by the first rule (get qualified teams from the Culling) and so the second rule (ignore the Top 16) misses those teams and instead pulls in some of the teams that finished just outside the top 16. I'll troubleshoot this tomorrow but thank you for the start!
  12. How can I make a competition get the bottom X teams from a different competition? Scenario: I have three 32-team tiers. The bottom 16 teams from Tier 1, all 32 teams from Tier 2, and the top 16 teams from Tier 3 enter into a 16-group competition (The Culling) that reorganizes these 64 teams. The top 16 teams from The Culling go to Tier 1, the middle 32 teams go to Tier 2, and the bottom 16 teams go to Tier 3. My problem is, the year after The Culling, Tier 3 is not properly its bottom 16 teams which did not qualify for The Culling. In Tier 3 > League Stage > Teams, I have tried everything including Get All Teams from Division, Get Best Teams From Division, setting Maximum Number of Teams, Maximum Number of Teams In Overall List, Team Index, Sort Teams, Reverse the order of teams in this list.... Worth noting: when I set it to Get All Teams From Division and then check "Reverse the order of teams in this list", I get a nice list of all previous season's teams in reverse order of standings, starting at the bottom. However, since I only want the top 16 teams from this list, I go and set "Maximum Number Of Teams" to 16, thinking this will just give me the Top 16 teams from this list. But instead, the list now starts with the team who finished 16th and goes up to the team who finished 1st. [conceptually I understand why it's doing this - it is creating the list of all teams, and then sorting it, and then reversing it. So setting the max # of teams chops the initial list, then it gets sorted and reversed]. I just need something that works like a "Get Worst Teams From Division" option. Or even a way to grab these top 16 teams and ignore them, and then grab the next 16 There must be an easy way to tell it to get the 16 teams from last season which finished #16-32, and also get the 16 teams from The Culling which qualified for this league.
  13. Also noticed Molde doing this, another Scandinavian team so I am guessing it's a remnant from their previous league calendar. Still not found a fix though
  14. EDIT: Seems to have fixed itself upon exiting FM and loading the game back up? Probably a non-issue then but I'm still curious how it works I have a tiered league setup in the England nation. The top 3 leagues are newly created. The 4th league and below were repurposed from the Premier League (4th tier was PL repurposed, 5th tier is Championship repurposed, etc). I had no issues with league names until I applied the Real Name Fix from mons from sortitoutsi (merged their .fmf files with my DB). I made sure that league names were not updated in my DB file as you can see below - the screenshot is from after running an in-editor test. However when I go into FM those bottom tier names have revered to Premier League, EFL Championship, etc. Where would the game be pulling these "hardcoded" league names from instead of using the ones in my db? Additional context: The game setup screen uses the correct league names but once I get into the game it uses the old names Thank you!
  15. EDIT: Thank you @Wolf_pd, marking this solved -- In my custom league of 24 teams, it makes sense to me that positions 12-14 are considered "mid-table". By default, these positions are given the ranking level "just avoided relegation" since my relegation playoff includes up to team 16. I want to redistribute the ranking level info in my league to match my expectations, but when manually setting Ranking Level Info for the league, you must set it for every position or the league won't validate. However there is no choice for "Promotion Playoff" or "Promoted" so I can't accurately set every position in my league. How can I set the Ranking Level Info to "Promoted" and "Promotion Playoff"? Attached image highlights how they are set by default, and the other show the options when manually setting ranking level info.
  16. I think you're correct because I'm noticing that when I verify the divisions 1 by 1, I can verify all divisions including at and below this one (tier 5), but when I try to verify tier 1,2,3, or 4 I get the "cant find enough teams error" So setting the minimum required division (and getting the validate to respect that) should work but as noted above setting that Fake Competition value isn't doing anything However I found something else odd - when I do get this error, the cup still creates but adds all Tier 6 (?!) teams. I then checked the base details tab and Competition Level is set to 6 and it resets itself to 6 every time EDIT: See Above, believe I've got it
  17. I think I've set that and it hasn't fixed the issue but let me know if this is incorrect: I went to the advanced rules for the Cup > General > "Fake Competition if Lowest Selected Division is Above Level" and set it to "4" since this is the 5th tier. When validating rules, it errors out during "Creating Competitions" stage towards the beginning. However I just gave it a manual Setup Date that is a few days after the League ends, which at least gets me past "Creating Competitions" during rules validation but now it errors out in "Running Competitions" EDIT: Seems I've got it and you were exactly right - On the Nation Advanced Rules > Competitions I set the minimum selected division and Dont Use If Competition Doesnt Exist there, and am able to verify. Thank you @rusty217
  18. I have a 5th tier League in which the bottom 15 teams go to an end of season Cup. No relegation. I have the qualification rules set on the League and on the Cup I have it set to Get Qualified Teams from Stage. When I do Test Competitions, the Cup properly populates and executes. But when I do a Validation (Rules > Test Rules > All) I get an error saying the stage does not populate "can't find enough teams to be created." 0 teams found. Any help on why this would be happening? Below are the relevant settings, happy to share more. Thank you! Qualification Rules for the League - Positions 15-30, set the competition to qualify for, and set the stage index. I have also tried "Teams 'Drop' Instead of 'Qualify' For This Stage" Teams rules in the Cup stage - Get Qualified Teams From Stage, set the competition to pull from and stage name, set team sort and seeding. I have also tried Get Qualified Teams For Comp here but no dice (images attached)
  19. I am working on a superleague DB in England which runs on the same calendar as the English PL. Malmo FF (Sweden) is in Tier 4 of the league. I have noticed them signing loan players on contracts from late January until September 9. The transfer window ends September 2 and they end up no registering the players with contracts expiring September 9, but I think this is a remnant from the Swedish football calendar? Any idea how to stop this from happening?
  20. Working on a 7-tier superleague db. I want to create U23 and U19 teams for every team and enter them into leagues with the same teams from their division. I also want these to be the only youth teams around. For example, Basel have a U21 team that I don't want to exist. Atalanta has a default "Under 23" team (different than "Under 23s"). Etc. I have the U23 and U19 leagues being properly created via the rules in the screenshot. But when I go to Atalanta > Reserve Teams and remove the "B Team" under Reserve Teams or Reserve Team to Create, it drastically throws off the U23 and U19 leagues it creates. U23 Tier 2 starts pulling multiple teams from Tier 3 and so on. Also, for Atalanta it ends up using "Atalanta Under 23 U23's" instead of just Atalanta's U23s. Any advice on how to remove existing reserve teams and standardize ONLY a U23 and U19 team for all involved teams would be appreciated.
  21. Some further context: Sometimes I am able to Validate the file (Rules > Test Rules). However if I then make any change and try to validate the file again, the application crashes. Then, if I reload the SAME FILE THAT I WAS JUST ABLE TO VALIDATE, and try to validate it, the editor crashes. I have tried clearing the cache and also saving/saving as, before validating. Not been able to pinpoint the issue yet and I would appreciate any assistance in reading the dump files, I have about a thousand of them now :/
  22. I've edited England nation rules and the top 7 tiers of England. Yesterday I was consistently able to test, update, test again, etc. Last night I loaded up my db and now every time I click Create New Test the editor crashes. I also cannot verify my file as clicking Validate causes the application to crash as well. I have also loaded up previous files that I was able to test at the time, and those also crash when I try to Create New Test. Uploaded a DMP file called "Editor 2024 v24.1.1.1922460 (2023.11.18 00.44.10).dmp"
  23. In the editor, I am getting an Application Error and crash whenever I try to test my db. I have adden Nation Rules for England and done a lot with the English leagues. I was able to test with no issue a few hours ago but when I loaded back up I am now always getting the error. I have tried loading previous db files that I was previously able to test, but even those are now crashing the editor. I have also tried running a test for a Nation which I haven't touched at all, and still when I click Create New Test it crashes. Where can I get help with reading the crash dump files?
