Football Manager 2024 Official Feedback Thread

Goalkeepers in general are hilarious in FM24 The Most Polished Version Ever TM. Edit: Second fracture in less than a year, both from catching a ball too. -
FM 25 DEVELOPMENT UPDATE
Smoo replied to OmnissiahMasteR's topic in Football Manager General Discussion
If that's the case then that's fine. But I think some people are assuming that every available women's league will be loaded for every men's league you load. There is also the problem that you could end up with elite men's managers managing women's teams, which would be a problem. We've all seen weird scenarios where Guardiola ends up manager of Nottingham Forrest and the like. -
FM 25 DEVELOPMENT UPDATE
Smoo replied to OmnissiahMasteR's topic in Football Manager General Discussion
Mandatory: If I load the top 10 men's league's and their second division, are the women's top two league also loaded? Do I have the option not to load them? I usually play with a large database. If I choose to load all the leagues I usually load, the inclusion of women's football will increase the size of the database I play on by god knows how much, this impacts the performance of my PC and the speed of my game. Either I take the hit to performance, or I load fewer leagues. Either way, I'm impacted by something I'll never use. -
Net Transfer Spent question
Smoo replied to Giluma404's topic in Football Manager General Discussion
I would assume the disparity in the net transfer spends is Agent fees, and the disparity in the wage spend is staff salary. No idea if that's the case, but it seems like the kind of thing FM would do. -
Odegaard goal at 86 minutes, VAR doesn't check the clearly offside Arsenal player. Arsenal v Rangers.pkm
-
At 60:22 Neco Williams passes to Taiwo Awoniyi, who is offside. Awoniyi is fouled, VAR checks the foul but not the offside.

Selecting Jersey Color for Matches
Smoo replied to phd_angel's topic in Football Manager General Discussion
Managers do not decide what strip the team plays in. Managers do not decide transfer dealings. The former is not a game feature, the latter is. Your argument that strip selection shouldn't be in the game because that's not the manager's job, then SI should take away our ability to make transfers, and leave that entirely to the DoF. But that would be ridiculous, just as telling someone to go play EAFC just because they asked a question would be. -

Player controlled GK are still Exstremely bad, and get really low ratings
Smoo commented on Hoffbeck's issue in Player Behaviour
2 shots from outside the box, combined xG of 0.18, both straight down the middle of the goal, keeper unable to save these easy shots. I'd say about half the goals I concede are shots straight down the keepers throat, from distance, and they simply let them in. -

Selecting Jersey Color for Matches
Smoo replied to phd_angel's topic in Football Manager General Discussion
Why would the manager have any say on how much the club are willing to spend on a player? Or any aspect of their contract? That's the Director of Football's job, literally nothing to do with the manager. -

I'm halfway through season 3, but Diomande, Coates and Goncalves signed those contracts at the end of season 1, the rest at the end of season 2. -

What do y'all want to see removed/upgraded in FM25?
Smoo replied to XV20's topic in Football Manager General Discussion
Youth managers playing right wingers at left back, centre backs on the left wing and goalkeepers up top. Really fed up with that. -
Football Manager 2024 Official Feedback Thread

Player is both delighted and unhappy with his playing time, and now I have to lie to him about being sorry for not playing him enough, even though I did, and the player himself recognises this fact. What is the point of player interactions when this nonsense is ignored year after year? -
Points deduction maybe? Only thing it legitimately can be.

From what I understand, it has to do with the integer max value. Basically, it's a computing problem. So, once a certain value, ie your bank balance, hits around 2 billion, it can't go any higher, and 'wraps around' to a negative value, and your balance goes from +2B to -2B. To get around this problem, the game is programmed to start removing money from your bank balance (around the £1B mark) into this investment fund. I have no idea what happens to that money, I assume it just disappears. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2,147,483,647#In_video_games

Resorting to personal insults rather than engage with the topic?

No Michael Beale was. A man sacked from two different clubs in 6 months. He'll be lucky if he gets a managers job again. And he was able to avoid massive player unrest.

Rangers European squad at the start of this season excluded Jon McLaughlin, Leon Balogun, Ridvan Yilmaz and Kieran Dowell. Kemar Roofe was removed from the European squad at the start of February. I registered the same squad, minus Roofe to see his reaction for not being registered. 4 out of 5 of those players became unhappy, complained to teammates which instigated 4 player revolts, and all 4 are now publicly complaining to the press about missing out on the European squad. None of this happened in real life. But yeah, this is all perfectly normal.

Nope, that's all transfer sales from the summer. Edit: In fact, I used the IGE to remove my transfer budget, because I find it highly unrealistic to have an £800m transfer budget but only £400m in the bank. And Wesley Fofana is now wanting a new contract, exactly the same £450k p/w. Which coincidentally is how much Reece James agreed to a few weeks prior this.
-
Uploaded the save game "Insane contract demands" Cesare Casadei, actual playing time of fringe player, expects a Squad Player status, first season not out on loan and in the first team, earns £35k p/w. Demands Regular Starter and wants £450k p/w. Screenshot of Diogo Costa who wants £1.4m p/w. Granted he's at a Saudi club, but it's pretty stupid that a player that young and that highly rated would go to Saudi Arabia in the first place. Edit: Forgot to mention I am using the realism mod, don't know if that would make a difference. But these contract demands happen in unmodded saves too.

How are transfer values calculated?
Smoo replied to KingCanary's topic in Football Manager General Discussion
You're completely missing the point about Stutter, His £9m transfer fee is not what I'm complaining about. The problem is after he moves to Liverpool his valuation is £26m-£31m, two weeks later his valuation doubles to £63m-£77m. He has terrible potential ability, at best a League One player. His Liverpool contract isn't worth anywhere near that much in monetary terms. £9m is probably more than he was worth, which is an example of the AI's terrible squad building. The problem is how does his valuation double in two weeks, both valuations whilst being a Liverpool player, from ~£30m to upwards of £70m. You're talking about the real world. Football Manager is not the real world. The difference in reputation between Chelsea and Liverpool, in game, is marginal. Add to that I've won a League Cup and two FA Cup's in two seasons. And I know how the mechanics work. My first post in this thread was explaining how the AI has an artificially high transfer value, and you have to unsettle a player to get a more realistic valuation. The problem with this is it stagnates the transfer market. Many players will end up never leaving their clubs because they never become unsettled and the transfer value remains too high, so no one bids for them. I don't think I've ever seen Haaland leave Man City. In reality, he will very likely go to Real Madrid in a few years. All the while, the AI can unsettle your players very easily. And a new addition to this years game is player mutinies every 6 months, demanding you let your best player leave. When does this ever happen. I've played FM for over 20 years. It's been slowly getting worse every year as they add half baked features that don't work and never get fixed. -
How are transfer values calculated?
Smoo replied to KingCanary's topic in Football Manager General Discussion
Same dates, Inter are interested in Nkunku before the transfer window closes. They are not interested after the window closes. His transfer value remains the same. So there goes your basic economics theory. Stutters contract at Chelsea is irrelevant, because those two screenshots are AFTER his transfer. His value doubles in a 2 week period while he's at Liverpool. Edit: Also, I would be amazed if his reputation increased significantly going from Chelsea's U21 team to Liverpools U21. -
How are transfer values calculated?
Smoo replied to KingCanary's topic in Football Manager General Discussion
Angelo, Wesley Fofana and Reece James transfer values a few days before the transfer window shuts and 10 days after it has shut. No change. Ronnie Stutter, bought by Liverpool for £9m from me. After the transfer window shuts, his value, which was already absurdly high for a player of his reputation, potential ability and contract, increases by more than 100%. Carlos Baleba, unsettled by my attempts to sign him. Before the transfer window closes valued at £54m. After the transfer window closes, his SALES value, not his transfer value, increases by almost 50%. He's also not unhappy that the club have massively increased his SALE value, something the player cannot get away with. If I agreed a sales value with a player and then increased it for no reason, I'd have the entire squad mutinying for this. But the AI doesn't have that problem. Funny how my players values don't change at all though, right?
